Lovely flavorful food, decent service, and good vegetarian options (multiple mains and starters). Excellent food, and recommend the aubergine main - good portion and very tasty! The olive oil, which we got to go with the bread basket, was a new 100ml bottle of olive oil (nice portion size!) Service was decent - the right level of efficiency and being available without being intrusive. Outdoor seating in the back avoids the tourist crowds, and has mounted fans for a little breeze. Slightly expensive but prices similar to other restaurants in the area. Single toilet inside and up one flight of stairs - a little dark but clean.

We loved this restaurant. From the welcome we received from Ziggy to the farewell once we’d finished our meal we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The food is exceptional. We had goat in white wine sauce for the first time and it was so tender and delicious. We also had slow baked lamb with three cheeses 😋. We actually had dinner here twice we loved it so much. We can also recommend the chicken gyros and smoked pork for starters.

Absolutely amazing food – we tried the rabbit and the chicken with plums, and both were unforgettable! The service was top-notch, and everyone was incredibly friendly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. They sell beautiful clay dishes as souvenirs, which added a lovely touch. We loved everything and will definitely be back when in Chania!

It’s a family led restaurant. The attention is truly heartwarming. The staff is very attentive and ensures that you are well taken care of at all times. The food is outstanding; my husband ordered a pork gyro while I chose a chicken gyro. Both were sublime! I would love to come back. Would definitely recommend to anyone 🙌🏻

Came across TO Xani last night amongst the busy streets, which was slightly less busy than the other restaurants around. There was a lovely lady host who brought us to a table. The service was good and the menu was good with quite a few different options! We went for two of the lamb dishes as my lamb was so tender and just fell apart beautifully would definitely recommend the lamb!

Absolutely loved our meal here! The lamb chops were juicy, tender, and bursting with flavour – cooked to perfection. We also tried the generous plate of local sausages, each one offering its own unique taste and spice – a real treat for Australian Sausage Sizzle lovers. Yes, the bread on the table might have been a bit dry, but honestly, who cares? We dunked it in the olive oil dressing from our fresh tomato and cucumber salad – wow!! Problem deliciously solved. Highly recommended!

Good, professional, high-quality but not perfect. I really loved the service. Host lady was very kind and acknowledged. We ordered Kleftiko, dolmakia, Cretan olive oil, bread and wine. Kleftiko was amazing, was rockstar. Harmony of the fett, meat and cheeses were outstanding. Definetly loved it. But the plate was not well-designed I would say. That beautiful meat dish shouldn't serve with an ugly, mediocre french fries. Bread was not special, even not good enough. Olive oil was good quality. Wine was okay. Prices were fair. We paid 48 EUR for the meal. Total recommended.

Xani has really good food with a great variety of Cretan dishes, including some traditional options you don’t often see elsewhere. I had the Sfakiano Yahni (goat in wine sauce), with tender, slow-cooked meat that practically melted off the bone—rich and full of flavor, and the “Tourta” (Lamb, cheese and mint pie – local dish), known in Greek as Κρεατότουρτα—a unique and delicious specialty. The staff were really nice, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. A great place to enjoy some delicious Cretan food.
