TL;DR Reliable, caring, and genuinely thoughtful. One of the rare hotels in Cusco that truly takes responsibility. Beautifully designed with decent food. Review: Had 2 separate bookings with Machu Picchu in between, and the hotel was consistently excellent. Late at night, after a flared foot injury, I urgently needed a shoe with arch support to avoid re-injury. Despite the hour and the extremely limited transportation options, the staff coordinated a multi-step late-night delivery from Cusco to Ollantaytambo and then on to Aguas Calientes—the only possible route at that time. This was genuinely difficult to arrange, and it was handled with an exceptional level of care and commitment that truly went above and beyond. They also pay close attention to details: after we mentioned minor linen issues (which we later learned can be related to high-altitude laundry systems), they upgraded us immediately, and everything was noticeably better when we returned. All services are reliable—great restaurant, friendly staff, same-day laundry. They were also very understanding when we had to shorten our stay due to altitude sickness. In a city where reliability can be hit-or-miss, this place truly stands out.

Our visit to Peru culminated with a night at the quaint Tocuyeros Boutique Hotel, and it was the perfect end to a fabulous trip. This gem of a property has a private setting that was tranquil and peaceful, despite being located in the heart of the San Blas neighborhood, which made it a perfect location for exploring the art district. The room was spacious, clean and fantastic view of the city, day and night...just the right mix of luxury with charm. The owners and staff were extremely warm, gracious and made us feel very welcomed. They went above and beyond, even for a single night stay...to include scheduling a massage for the following morning, before our departure. Our dinner at the on-premises restaurant, Refugio, was one of the best we'd had over the 8-day trip, even though the two of us were the only diners that evening! Breakfast was made-to-order, and was delicious, as well. As a family-operated business, they certainly add a personal touch to everything from the peruvian-modern decor, to the meal presentation, to the landscape. My only regret was that we didn't have more time to spend, as this would be the accommodation from which to explore Cusco. I will certainly be back!

We stayed at the hotel after an 11 days trek and it was truly great. The rooms are big, comfortable and plenty of hot water and towels! The Customer service is outstanding with the staff very helpful for whatever needs you have. The breakfast is very good with fresh fruits as well as eggs and meat. The location is perfect within short walking distance of the city center. But again, the staff there goes out of their way to help with luggage’s and transportation and so much more. |I would stay there again for sure!

Sometimes I hate to publicize something that’s so wonderful because I don’t want it to be unavailable when we go to use it again. I don’t think we will ever be back in Peru, but if we went it would be because of this hotel.||I knew that it would be the high point of our stay and it was (also literally). When train strikes threatened our journey to Machu Picchu, we thought we had to cancel it and booked an extra night at Tocuyeros. When we realized there was a 72-hour reprieve in the strike and we could actually go to Machu Picchu, I reached out to the Hotel but because I had already paid that morning, they were not able to refund us. I have never heard Hotel staff so genuine and concerned and apologetic and offering to be of service however they could. They immediately offered to pay for a taxi for us to get there from an hour and a half away but we had paid in advance for that transportation so they covered our trip to the airport instead. During our entire stay they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to show they truly regretted they could not refund us for the night we had booked but not stayed.||But I don’t stay at a hotel just because of the people there. The room and the facilities all have to be good. Well let me tell you, the room was as luxurious as we could want. The view over Cusco was phenomenal. The location was fantastic. And when you read reviews that say it’s an uphill walk from the city, let me assure you that if you stay here you are in a much better place than the city: fewer tourists, upscale, great restaurants, beautiful views, and just lovely.||Each staff member carried out their role with honor and a desire to serve. The included breakfast was a five-star experience. Every coffee drink you can imagine, fresh-squeezed orange juice, top-notch variety of fruit, breads with avocado, cheese, etc. Made-to-order omelettes, pancakes, etc. Somehow that sounds like a familiar offer but here it was done to perfection, with one woman serving with precision and grace.||We have traveled much of the world. This hotel is among our top five favorite ever.

Tocuyeros Boutique Hotel is a genuine oasis right in the middle of Cusco's beautiful, but sometimes overwhelming and claustrophobic, center. Seriously, finding this place felt like hitting the jackpot. It's tucked away in a little offshoot off a lane, and walking through the main corridor into the central courtyard genuinely felt like stepping out of the city's chaos and into your own little world. It’s the perfect hideaway after a busy day of crowds and altitude. The whole place is an absolute winner, starting with the rooms themselves. They are all tastefully done up—not generic or sterile at all—and the beds are truly and incredibly comfortable. I got fantastic sleep here, which is half the battle when traveling. But the real high point? The bathrooms. I loved how big they were, and let me tell you, the hot water was really hot and the pressure was great. That's a major win for a hotel in this region, and a huge relief after a long hike. Beyond the physical space, the experience was top-tier. The service was perfect across the board; everyone at the hotel seemed genuinely there to help in whatever way they could, whether it was sorting out taxis or just answering a quick question. Crucially, the staff takes great care of you, especially in regards to altitude sickness, and are clearly well prepared for all eventualities. They really look out for their guests. We also used the laundry services and they were prompt, and our clothes were very well treated. You also absolutely have to eat at the restaurant—it's excellent and served truly fresh food. We’re talking about high-quality meals that genuinely stood out. Highly recommend taking the time for a dinner there. And finally, don't miss the bar. The bar with the fireplace has a wonderful view of Cusco stretching out below, and they mix up great drinks, too. This place is more than just a hotel; it's a gem and a key part of what made our trip to Cusco so good.

We stayed 2 nights at Tocuyeros Hotel before and after seeing Machu Picchu. The hotel is so relaxing, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are incredible. They easily arranged our airport transportation and gave us great recommendations in Cusco. There is an onsite restaurant with fantastic food too. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at Tocuyeros for 2 separate nights (before and after our 3-day tour across Sacred Valley). |Its layout is amazing, a hidden gem within Cuzco’s downtown alleys, with a wonderful view on the city. |Both times our 4-bed rooms were spacious, as well as the toilet was. |It was all extremely clean. |The service from the staff was excellent, special thanks to Dani, who was always present and reactive to solve our problems. |Breakfast is very tasty, even though I found it a little limited in terms of choice.

We stayed here for 6 nights in total and loved it. We paid for an upgrade to one of the suites which was a really good size with a walk in shower. The views from the room and restaurant are amazing. We only had breakfast at the hotel twice sadly, but the food was great and made to order. Staff were really friendly and looked after our suitcases whilst we were on the Inca Trail.
