Ate here for the first time and it was Christmas Eve. The service was wonderful and the food was great! They had some specials due to the holiday so we did try some of those items, such as the white Christmas drink - so good! And the sticky toffee pudding, also delish!
For the appetizers we tried both the shrimp cocktail and teppan seared sea scallops. The shrimp were jumbo and came with 4 sauces- my fav were the wasabi and cocktail. The scallops were amazing and the short rib it came on top of was very tender.
For the entree we shared the simply fish. We chose the swordfish and by our server's recommendation did the warm crabmeat Dijon sauce. I would not get this sauce again. The sauce made the fish taste very fishy and unappetizing. When we scraped the sauce off the fish was significantly better. I don't know if it was the saltiness of the Dijon or if the crabmeat in the sauce was causing the problem, but I wouldn't get this sauce again. We both really disliked it. However, we ordered two a la carte sides with the meal, the glazed carrots and the tempura green beans. The carrots were so good! Expect a kick from the harissa. The green beans were good too, but the truffle sauce it was made it.
For dessert we tried the cherry stone and the sticky toffee pudding which was on special. The sticky toffee pudding was so good! The cherry stone was gross. The presentation of this dessert is very nice, but adding the extra goat cheese, which we didn't really expect, just ruined it. I think if they didn't do that, it would have been good as it only had a light goat cheese taste without it. But with the crumbles all over it was so overwhelming we couldn't even finish it or want it. We joked about how bad this dessert was into the next evening. Wouldn't recommend at all.
Overall, minus the two things we didn't love- fish sauce and one dessert, we did love our meal here and will definitely return. The ambience, presentation, and our server were wonderful. Highly recommend giving it a try!
