Tofino Distillery

We hadn’t planned to visit Tofino Distillery, but with the rain pouring down, we decided to make the most of it—and we’re so glad we did. The place absolutely didn’t disappoint. The crew was lovely, super welcoming and knowledgeable. We tried a few classic cocktails and their cocktail flight—everything was balanced, creative, and delicious. You can tell they take real pride in what they do. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in Tofino, rain or shine. And don’t leave without picking up a bottle—their liquor is top-shelf quality. Highly recommend!

A few very good cocktails at good prices. I liked the old cedar gin with tonic. Good whisky too.

Love visiting this distillery anytime we’re in town. It’s a cozy little tasting spot, with a kind innkeeper and some super creative flavors of vodka! I’m a vodka gal and it’s hard to find a distillery that does flavored vodka, let alone multiple flavors (and does it so well!). A must do if you’re visiting!

My new favourite gin! Loved visiting the distillery with our family in August. The bartender was great and the cocktails were excellent. Highly recommend.

We stumbled upon the Tofino Distillery, and we had a great experience. Brian was helpful in selecting tasting options for us. We appreciated the fact that you can try mini cocktails if you don’t feel like tasting the liquor straight. It was a fun experience.

Stopped in on a weekend getaway. No idea what to expect but I heard they had just released thier whiskey so I wanted to grab a bottle. Little did I know they had a tasting room with cocktail flights! Had 3 different cocktails with 3 different liquors. All fantastic. Ended up grabbing a bottle of the jalapeño vodka on the way out. Will definitely be back.

Neglected by visitors due to the brewery next door, make sure you visit on your way to sample some really interesting spirits. Specifically the whiskey, that's got some complex tasting notes that need to be explored.

This place is amazing. Don’t sleep on it. Half as busy as the brewery and equally delicious. Their cocktails never disappoint. Caesar’s are top notch. And the espresso sunburst was beyond expectations and not to be missed.

If you love cocktails this is a must visit. All spirits and liquors are made in house in Tofino. Various flavours from straight up gin to floral and licorice notes absinthe. You can try the spirits straight up neat or in a cocktail. If you love the taste, you can purchase the bottle in 375ml or 750ml I like floral notes and my favourite was the Ursa Major drink made with rose hibiscus gin. Refreshing, floral and a hint of the ginger beer.

There was a small wait at the brewery so we decided to check out Tofino Distillery. TD specializes in certified organic spirits and are located next door to Summit Bread Company. We dropped in on a Tuesday afternoon (around 5:00pm) and they were fairly busy. There's only two tables inside but the patio can fit another two to three groups. One bartender running the show; super chill and cozy spot to grab a few drinks. There's about a dozen mini cocktail options (gin, vodka and absinthe based), all at a reasonable price of $4.34 per drink. Bottles included vodka/gin ($25.00 for 375ml, $43.00 for 750ml) and absinthe ($40.00 for 375ml, $75.00 for 750ml). Sad that they were sold out of their arancello (orange vanilla) and limoncello. - The bee's knees ($4.34) - light, floral and refreshing. - Tijuana go surfing ($4.34) - this one was our favourite (and seemed to be what everyone else was ordering). A tantalizing kick from the jalapeno and a touch of sweetness. Get it. - Demon dog ($4.34) - beware, the absinthe is heavy on the anise but still stays smooth and enjoyable. Worth a try but we aren't huge absinthe drinkers. Awesome spot to enjoy a few mini cocktails. Make sure you try the jalapeno vodka.

Wow where to start? This place is amazing! Kat the bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable about all of the products including the distillation process and all of the ingredients. I would highly recommend the mini cocktails so you get a little taste of everything they do here. Tijuana Surf (with the jalapeño vodka) was refreshing and not too spicy. I would also recommend trying the Psychedelic Jellyfish Absinthe as it was shockingly my favourite. If they have it on hand, I also recommend the Beach Fire cinnamon spirit. (Kind of like fireball but a little sweeter!) I'll definitely return here next time I'm in town. Be carful, you might go home with 4 bottles like I did ;)

Very well worth the visit! The Vodka and Gin here are amazing. The drinks are amazing here and the staff are all so nice. Can't wait to come back again.

Decided to stop in here and check out the local spirits. Was eager to try many of the drinks, but the dude bartending made my wife's and I experience sub par right from the start, we would of stayed and got bombed and probably bought a few extra bottles. The jalapeño vodka is definitely delicious.

I didn't actually get to sample the product, well other then the hand sanitizer. I had heard the product is good, however after waiting for 30 min and having poor communication from an abrupt server we left. The server was doubling as host for their 2 table same entrance/exit door setup. For a town that has rain 10-11 months a year I figured they would have a better set up then they do. We drove 1 block to the brewery and found a fantastic setup despite how busy it was. I will definitely not hurry back to the distillery.
