Tofitian Cafe

Adorable little coffee shop, which is new to me since my last trip to Tofino. Loved the decor and overall vibe. I ordered a caramel latte and it was pretty good. They have a list of syrups you can add to your coffee for an additional charge, including vanilla, SF vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, lavender and I believe pumpkin spice. They also have milk alternatives, including soy, oat and coconut (I wish they had almond milk, but oh well). All their pastries looked delicious and were coming out fresh as I was waiting in line. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy your coffee and treats. Lastly, they have cute souvenirs like shirts and mugs.

Went out for a morning walk and found myself in front of this coffee shop. Cozy beautiful shop looks like a house from the outside right on the main highway. Ordered a cappuccino which tasted really good, nice foam and good quality coffee. Had an amazing variety of pastries and quiche for a quick breakfast. Will be coming back!

Good Spot for Coffee We stopped for coffee on the way out of town for the Vancouver Ferry. It's a small shop. There was a bit of a line up to order, and we did so for 3 coffees. There was only one staff, but another showed up a few minutes later to help. Service was OK, considering. The coffee was good. There is a small seating area adjacent to the shop, which we didn't use. All-in-all an acceptable place to stop for a decent cup of coffee. Recommended.

This place never fails to deliver. It’s been three years since I’ve been here and it’s as good today as it was then. They are super friendly and fun. Service was quick and efficient. Food was great as was the coffee. They pulled a great Canadiano (same as an Americano but 25% better) The sausage roll was a unique take on the traditional and it was a flavour delight! The red pepper jelly and pickled ginger was a great combo. Their scones, sweet or savoury, are always a hit and from what I can tell - they sell out early!

We really appreciate the quality of the bakery items available at this cafe…very cozy and comfortable setting and very friendly staff….sitting outside in their patio area is a special experience…coffee was tops..

Finally got a chance to try this place! Had a chai latte and focaccia sandwich. Chai latte wasn’t great, but the sandwich was super fresh and had a great combo of flavours. Perfect after a morning at the beach! Seating inside/outside and lots of other cool shops/vendors in this area.

Coffee needs to be served hotter. Was also offered vanilla syrup with my matcha order but not informed it would be a $1 charge. Cornbread muffin was dry and tasted day old.

Great coffees and pastries! Takeout and eat outside only. At first it looks as if they don’t have much for a heartier breakfast but persevere! I had the black bean and sweet potato puff pastry and it was the perfect size. Would definitely recommend!

Tofino has several cool coffee spots but The Tofitian is #1 in or books. Fresh baked goods that have great flavours, friendly staff who are patient even when the line up is long (like every morning), and of course the coffee - perfect. I also really appreciated the vintage Realistic speakers playing a varied and eclectic playlist.

We stopped here after a morning of surfing and dropping back our gear. Our mocha was pretty standard but nothing to write home about. It wasn't too chocolatey, but the whipped cream was nice. We were disappointed by the almond croissant. It wasn't particularly buttery, fluffy, flaky, or warm. I'm not sure if warming up is an option, but I definitely would have liked to have had it warmed and maybe it's a thing they could be offering every time. We found it to be pretty flat and lacking taste. Yes, it did have almond paste inside but I would not get this again. It looks like a few people around us got quiches, so maybe that would be some thing to try if you're looking for a breakfast bite. We overheard someone say that the oat muffin was one of the best oat muffins they've ever had in their life, so maybe check that out instead. The space is really nice inside and they obviously have great marketing because I see the Tofitian sticker everywhere.

This is a nice little coffee shop. It is outside of town, so there is easy parking. They have a nice porch and deck area (covered), which was great when it was raining.

Stopped by early afternoon for a Latte and a Lemonade. Lineup was a bit long but service was quick, so don't let the long line deter you! The lemonade was more on the sour end but it was nice and refreshing. The latte was standard. I liked how they decorated their store with merch items like cups and tshirts. Would recommend if you are waiting in line at the Tacofino next door and need a refresher!

Great coffee and vegan treats. Friendly service and an easy to find location next to a number of other fun restaurants and shops.

I think I enjoyed the food here better than the coffee. We found some of the drinks were a little watered down or a little acidic for my taste, but the breakfast sandwiches were delicious. We tried a biscuit, flat bread, and croissant, each with different combinations of meats, cheese, veggies, and eggs. All were savory, filling, memorable, and would definitely draw me to come back in again.

Stopped here on our way home early on a Monday. The staff was super friendly! Even gave us a free replacement latte when my husband spilt his when picking it up. We split the croissant breakfast sandwich and immediately regretted not getting one each--one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. Mainly baked items for breakfast, but half were savory and even a few gluten free options, so that was nice to see on a bakery menu for a change. Coffee was excellent too! Will be back next time we are in the area!

Nice place for coffe with good varieties of bakery for breakfast. They have covered seating place for when it is raining or too sunny. I like the place and their coffee

Low rating due to attitude of servers and long wait times. Staff prioritizes talking with each other and having fun over customers service. Every time we've been there is a 20 to 30 min wait just to get coffee. And often they are out of muffins and other pastries. Meanwhile have noticed orders can't be heard and customers have to get their orders corrected because the baristas are carrying on loudly. No apologies given. Way too long of a wait for the quality. There are lots of options in Tofino. Go elsewhere.

A must try. If you go, you'll go again. Fantastic and treats. Free wifi. 'Nuff said.

Try the Keto breakfast sandwich. Way better than it sounds!!! I am not a health but but was pleasantly surprised!

The white chocolate raspberry scone was really nice and the hazelnut oat milk latte was amazing. Breakfast croissant sandwich not great and would suggest to skip that for sure. Would def return for more coffee & baked goods

Came here in a drizzly summer day, and it was a nice respite from the rain. I love their tea selection and their pastries allll looked amazing. Cute cafe

Not sure why the coffee is so popular but the atmosphere is cool & the drink menu is creative. Americano was alright; Latte was smooth.

Waited thirty minutes, which unto itself is not a problem, it is high season and there is COVID. But after all that wait my Americano was like lightly coffee flavoured hot water. Definitely not up to par... not even sure if it was made with freshly brewed espresso. I wouldn't go back.

I am appalled by the behaviour of the staff members. The women who work here are constantly horrible, rude, and sassy. Every single time I come into the cafe it is always the same horrible service. Disrespectful. They never greet me or ask me how I am doing. The only interaction I get from them is an eye roll. Thank you so much ladies. Extremely disappointed by the lack of respect you show here. Oh, and it's not just us, we can see you treating everyone like that. Your drinks are also watered down. There is no foam on the drink. The milk is not even heated or frothed. Will never, ever be coming back to your establishment to be treated like nothing.

I have no idea how this bakery isn't getting a five star review from everyone! We have one of the best bakeries in the US right in our backyard in Seattle (Bakery Nouveau) - so we are very critical and picky when it comes to baked goods. Tofitian checks all the boxes. Their cinnamon rolls are the best I have had, anywhere, anytime. Espresso is excellent. Croisssants - top notch. We also had some sort of nutella topped scone. OH MY GOD. Incredible! I cannot say enough good things about this place. Who CARES about the prices when the food is this good? This place just blows away any other bakery around here. Can't wait to come back.

I'm a tough coffee customer as I am pretty picky. Tofitian's coffee is flavorful. My husband brought me a 16 oz. latte our first day in Tofino. I could tell the coffee was a good quality but with just two shots it was a bit weak- it would have made a perfect 12 oz cup with two shots. The next day, I had a 16 oz. triple shot and it was perfection. The barista made a delicious cup of joe.

I think the Tofitian has created the perfect simple breakfast item: Breakfast Pizza. It's a great texture bun with pizza sauce, meat, an egg, and cheese all baked up and awesome. My only issue was I didn't take a second one to go coz the line was too long coz other people also know. Super good

I had a Oatmeal Apple Crumble Cinnamon cakes. The cake was great the cappuccino was excellent. Nothing to complain. I will always come back to this place.

Small and hip little coffee shop. Iced mocha's were pretty awesome. Arrive in morning to catch a fresh warm bakery item. Sitting area is bright and a great place to start the day.

Service might be a bit slow depending on whose working but the coffee is good as are the lattes. I had a latte from this place almost every day that I was in Tofino.

I wanted to like this place, I really did. The scone was burnt on the edges, and my chai latte tasted like cinnamon water. I didn't try their espresso, so can't comment on the actual coffee of this place. Went to a Rhino later in the day and loved the latte.

Cool coffee and bakery. And they have cool skull tshirts. Very busy. They have wifi. Can sit inside or outside in the jungle. Entrance is around the back by the chocolate shop. Breakfast croissants. Tiny inside.

This is a popular spot with the surfers, although I am unsure why. I've tried it twice, since it was close, but not again. Tofitian offers amazingly little in the way of food options, and the only draw seems to be skull-clad t-shirts. The coffee was OK, but the service was atrocious. It almost felt like we were a burden to them. Maybe we're not surfer enough for the place?

Came for a cappuccino but got bad barista attitude. One word, snippy answers to my two questions (what's the difference between the two sizes? What's the wifi password?) Hmmm. Not sure what I did to deserve that. Maybe because we weren't locals? She was cool to the surfer ahead of us in line. Who knows! The cappuccino was fine - not exceptional, nor terrible. The wifi was pretty good. The 'tude, however, was tough first thing in the morning, and lingered long after the coffee was gone. I'm pretty sure there are other places with decent cappuccino in Tofino worth checking out. They might not hate you there either.

On two different occasions, I Walked in and was nicely greeted by the girl working. Both times I ordered an Americano, and both times it was by far they were the worst coffee(s) I've ever had. I have had some pretty awful coffee but this was the worst. Literally undrinkable. Three sips and it was trashed, both times. After the first one, I thought it might be just a one off bad coffee, but not the case. Very chemically tasting. Cool logo and ambiance but as far as coffee goes...it's not good. Will maybe try something else there because a part of me just wants it to be good.

Best. coffee. in life. I don't know what sort of voodoo magic they are working here but I love it. My americano blew my mind. They have soy AND almond milk for you to choose from. Thank you! It's a small cozy place with wicked wicked service. If I lived here, I would be annoying this place ALL THE DAMN TIME. It's worth the ferry ride just for this coffee. But it's cash only peeps.

Tofi-TEE-an Tofi-shian I bring newbies to this place and they always say the former. If anything just to annoy me (pattern begins). Regardless, not quite sure why i 4-starred the Tofi-SH-ian cause it really is the best coffee in town. Not only that but the barristas are efficient and skilled. We went in with a super annoying coffee order (pattern continues) that I even I was irritated (pattern) at having to convey. She got all 5 lengthy orders correct and only had to ask about the last one's size which she forgot. Total pro. And wicked wicked coffee. No time to sit outside this time but still highly recommend it. But remember, cash only! Don't get stuck with footing the bill like I did (ugh, pattern).

Had coffee this weekend at Tofitian. The service was really friendly and the coffee was excellent. Beware though, no debit/credit, cash only! They had some oatmeal going in the slow cooker that looked really tempting!

I chose to get a chocolate date cookie and London fog before heading to the beach. I agree with previous posters about how sweet the cookie was but the London Fog was a delight.

I had a similar experience to Ruth D. Maybe the girl working just isn't a people person. It's a cute little spot though and there are some cute shops around. THe print and t shirt shop next door is awesome! I got what I needed though, some organic black tea...a little caffeine for the ride to qualicum beach.

After going in almost EVERY coffee shop in Tofino, Tofitian left the best mark. Tofitian is a small cafe located in a cluster of shops including a corner grocer, a surf shop, chocolate shop, Wildside Grill (see my review for it) and much much more. The latte was delicious and the tofinano (an Americano Tofino style) was a great way to start a surfing-filled day. The cafe itself is very small, but gives a cozy laid back atmosphere. It seemed like the place where friends would meet, grab a coffee and a treat and head to the ocean. Internet is available as well as T-shirts and other gear! Will make this my Tofino coffee hot spot!

Cute little coffee shop but overpriced. Had a London fog which I found was too sweet. Ordered a large but it was honestly the size of a fall from Starbucks and cost just as much as their Venti. Tried some of their baked goods (cookie and brownie) and found that they were both dry and way too sweet. They've got cool merchandise but honestly I found it a little overrated.

Loved everything about place. Chilled out vibe, great choice of baked goods and hot drink options. Some pretty rad memorabilia too. When are coming to Vancouver?!

Yeeees, delicious delicious coffee! To me, Tofitian is the ideal coffee shop. It's just so damn cool. They also have hot tea and pastries, although I haven't tried either. I would hang out here if I lived in Tofino.

Loved this coffee shop! I went twice and got coffee and a breakfast item both times. Coffee was SO GOOD and breakfast was great as well. Service was excellent both visits. Warning: it's very busy all morning from what I could tell.

They made me a fantastic decaf Americano, and that's saying something given I'm super picky. They were responsive to my request to limited water, which means the flavour of the roast and beans comes through quite strongly. Mine was smooth, not bitter, and just the right temperature. The flat bread and GF cornbread with bacon and ricotta we had were very tasty, even though we showed up only thirty minutes before they closed. We will be back often.

My family and I stayed at in a motel 3 minutes away from this coffee shop. We loved it! Super cute inside with turquoise and the vibes there are super beach's and cute. Very quaint. Coffee is amazing . I got an iced latte with a shot of vanilla. Super good. Little bit pricy, but you pay for that atmosphere as well as the drinks. Amazing coffee shop over all. Highly recommend!!

Very good chai. Good prices. Chocolate chip almond cookie we had was delicious and was vegan which we love. Excited to try their cappuccino tomorrow!

We stayed 2 nights in Tofino and hit up this coffee shop every morning for their Americanos. I had to ask the server what kind of beans they used because the coffee was so good. Service could've been friendlier, but if you're just looking a good cup of coffee, this is the place to go.

TERRIBLE SERVICE! Amazing decor, amazingly tiny and super cool! Wish the lady at the counter wasn't so disinterested and rude to us because we would have stayed so much longer! Our latte, however was a delicious. Maybe they are only friendly in the summer..? Also CASH ONLY, ps.

Outstanding Latte, great shot and served at the perfect temperature, excellent. Great little independent shop with a very knowledgeable Barista, what more could you ask for. Highly recommended.
