An absolutely fantastic option for takeaway Indonesian food. The options are vast, the flavour and taste is brilliant, the colours enticing and the staff are super friendly. Store: (5/5) The layout has the takeaway food inside a glass display. The other sides of the stores have other things that can be bought. The staff are super friendly and always ready to provide some great feedback on what you might like based on your preferences. Food: (5/5) The food was absolutely excellent. As an Indian I prefer more spice, but I must admit the caramelised onions on the beef was sooo good (tried my best to capture it in the photos). I would strongly recommend getting it. The flavours were clear and the meat was cooked extremely well. The fried rice too was really well made. I am eager to head back and try again. Summary: (5/5) There is a queue here and now I know why. It is certainly worth the wait. Amazing food and incredible staff. So drop by and your taste buds and stomach will certainly thank you for it.

Decided to get takeaway for lunch today and for €9.50 you get rice, egg, your choice of 2 meats & 3 vegetables. Excellent value for money. And as someone who likes spice, I’m glad that some dishes had a nice kick to it, which unfortunately some other places do not do, in order to cater to a more local palate.

Hands down the BEST Indonesian take-out shop in Amsterdam. I have tried more than 5 of this type of take-out spots in Amsterdam so I have a general idea of the quality level. And I can say Kok Kita is the one that uses the best and freshest ingredients of all (that I have tried). They don’t use super heavy seasoning (I know heavy seasoning is an important part in Indonesian food culture but I mean SUPER heavy), and some shops really use that to cover up certain bad characteristics of the ingredients. Food is absolutely delicious, loved the chicken especially. Eggplants can be cooked longer for a better texture – but hey, I am not complaining for this price portion ratio. One thing that I didn’t enjoy is that they are quite shady with additional costs… they don’t tell you that you need to pay extra for having the food heated up for instance, only after you said “yes please heat it up”, you would see them put in the extra figures at their counter, without explaining either :D

Amazing Indonesian comfort food, perfect to take away for a party or to bring home for a treat. Also great to buy Indonesian groceires such as noodles, sauces, kroepoek or layered cake spekkoek. There is usually a long line due to its popularity, but they serve fast as well!

I discovered it 2 days after moving to Amsterdam and have gone at least monthly since. The staff is super friendly, and the food is AMAZING

Yelp
Really delicious food. You basically pick what you like, they put it in a large or smaller container and you take it to go. You also have the option to have it heated and eat it at their table. There's only one table but from what we saw, most if not all patrons just take it to go. We was only about 15 euros between two of us with a drink. Definitely a more affordable option to eat here in Amsterdam. Employees are nice and will explain to your all the options. If you pick veggies only, you get more choices.

Yelp
Great take out Indonesian food! This place was near our Airbnb so we stopped by twice on a 5-day stay. You can get items by weight like at a deli or you can get a combo (nasi rames). For about 8.70 euro you get white rice, 3 veggies, 2 meats and an egg. The portion was large - I was definitely stuffed. They also have loempia, lemper and other Indonesian goodies like kerupuk. They were very friendly and helpful. They don't fool around with the spices. This is like an Indonesian mama's cooking. Some dishes were quite spicy, which is the authentic way. There is a tiny table if you want to sit there and eat, but it's really a take out place. When I came around 5:30 pm, there was a line out the door with the local after-work crowd. I can see why: solid Indonesian food at great prices.

Yelp
Great Indonesian takeaway with a big selection and friendly service. In the evening there is a line out the door. A good sign of things to come! Among the rice and noodles, I was surprised to see that they also offer lontong. I got the Nasi Rames menu (€7.70) which comes with white rice, three vegetable dishes, two meat types, and an egg. My choices were terong blado (eggplant and chilies), tumis kacang panjang (spicy tempe and greenbeans), oerap (salad of coconut and bean sprouts), and daging bali (Balinese style beef). I also asked for nasi kuning (rice cooked in coconut milk and turmeric) instead of white rice and the lady behind the counter was happy to substitute for a small fee which I don't remember but I was fine with the price. Everything was properly spicy, and they do warn you if you're faint of heart. The food tastes like it should, except I think the daging bali would be spicier in Bali. Delicious authentic Indonesian food! A plastic bag costs a few cents so be smart and bring your own or else carry the box in your hands. On your way out, you can also pick up a few essentials in their small grocery corner like fried anchovies or Kecap Manis. They also have some traditional cakes and fried snacks in the case by the entrance. Just don't expect to sit down here because there is only one table.

Yelp
Wandering Vondelpark? Like Indonesian food? Go to Kok Kita. We're from out of town (Austin, TX and Seattle, WA) and were stoked when we saw a lineup of locals out the door. It's takeaway, so it's perfect if you're heading home / going to sit and eat in the park. Get the green cake.

Yelp
Great value. You get a bulging box with rice/noodles, 2 meats, 3 veggies, 1 egg for 8.70. I'm a pretty big eater and this was perfect after a day of pretty strenuous activity.

Yelp
The hype is real. If you're in Amsterdam, come through for some delicious Indonesian bites. Came at 8 on a Sunday night and even with 30 min til closing, there was a line out the door of about 30 people. The 20 min wait was definitely worth it. Definitely recommend the big plate/dish/box - plenty of food for 8 euros. The cucumber salad was a great complement to the spicy beef and cashew chicken. If you want some hearty savory cuisine, come here.

Yelp
Place is amazing and so sosososososo affordable! My friend and I were picking up some take away as we were staying at a friends place, they recommended us to here and we were not disappointed! Not only was our food delicious, ( I would recommend the gebakken Tempe in bonensaus and maybe stay away from the kip in kerrie saus ) but VERY cheap. 4 of us ate for around 8 euros each and had plenty to eat! Also the service we got was very friendly. We had no idea what to order and we weren't the easiest customers to say the least! Just too many choices! None the less he had a smile on the entire time and was not irritated even with a growing line! GO

Yelp
My husband and I are total foodies and ate our way through Amsterdam, and this was our favorite place on our entire trip! The food is absolutely delicious and they have such a good variety, and everything was very affordable. It was so good that I actually got a second large plate...honestly tempted to get a third to go. The owners/emoloyees were all so friendly and it had such a comfortable, cozy atmosphere. You have to check this place out, you won't regret it!

Yelp
This place is unreal. I get the large brick sized takeout container and ate the whole thing. Don't be intimidated by the language barrier. Pick & point, but all is good.

Yelp
Fabulous family-run, Southeast Asian home cooking at really decent prices. You'll be able to find it by the line snaking out the door. Give yourself lots of time though because the line moves slowly, since the proprietors don't rush you while you make your selections from their loaded display case.

Yelp
This is my favorite take out place in Amsterdam. You know the food is fresh since it's always so busy, and the portions are huge by dutch standards. They have lots of choices for veggies and meat alike. There is no atmosphere in the restaurant itself - but it's great for take out to eat at home or a picnic in the nearby Vondelpark.

Yelp
Amaaaaaaazing! Don't get intimidated from numerous selection of food, ask them for recommendations! It's so delicious and affordable!

Yelp
I have passed this place several times in the evenings and saw the line out the door (every single night! Incredible) - so finally I stood in that line to see what all the rage is about. It's an Indonesian takeaway place with loads of meat and veggie options and as others have commented, it's dirt cheap. You can get loads of food for 8 euros. I even found the menu option of one veggie, one meat and rice for less than 6 euros to be more than enough. They can heat it for you or you can take it cold. The line moved relatively quickly and the food was good. The only thing I would say can possibly beat it for the price is Maoz falafel.

Yelp
This place sustained us through so many dinner times on our trip to Amsterdam. Fearlessly spicy curries and super polite people behind the counter who helped us (tourists) stumble through dutch and Indonesian as we pointed and ordered food in the cafeteria style line up. Gets busy right after work hours but line moves fast. The food is served cold; they can heat it up for you if you'd like but we usually took it home as-is because we usually got 2 portions out of 1 set menu (1 egg, 3 veggie, 2 meats, and rice or noodles)

Yelp
This place is awesome. I got a sweet chicken with some veggies and fried rice for 5 euro 50. My girlfriend got some spicier beef and noodles with veggies. Super tasty stuff. The ladies working were really helpful. I just wished they didn't close so early.

Yelp
Excellent Indonesian food! The best out of 7-8 Indonesian restaurants that we ate during our trip. Like many Indonesia eatery, you can only order to go here. The food is quite cheap but more importantly, they are tasty!
