Tokyo Central is a Japan based market that offers a wide variety of imported Japanese goods. You'll find fresh veggies and fruits, ready to eat meals (ramen, sushi, etc) to health products to small appliances (rice cookers, mini stoves) and a lot of other specialty goods. There's plenty of parking, prices seemed fair, the staff is friendly and the market was clean. Definitely worth checking out.

Have been coming here for their great sushi selections for years. Today is the first time I’ve almost swallowed a big, hard, fishbone in one of my sashimis ever in my life. It feels quite dangerous and came as a surprise as I usually one-bite my sushis. Hopefully this is just a one-time only mistake, but it definitely should be noted by the manager and staff.

The layout is nice. Good cold and hot prepared food items. The seating area is nice, with both a water dispenser(hot and cold) and a microwave. You need to ask cashiers for utensils. The staff are always very kind and quick. The selection of items in the store tend to be good or great quality. I've never had any bad experiences with any dry or raw products here. It's super cleanly and enough space for my stroller, which should also mean wheelchair users can navigate with minimal areas they may need to find a different route.

I love buying my favorite fresh sushi at this chain's stores! 🍣 It's always delicious and the prices are great. They offer 20% off in the evenings and the Japanese atmosphere makes you want to come back again and again! Besides sushi, I love buying various desserts, frozen noodles and sauces for ramen and udon, various drinks (especially yuzu), matcha ice cream, matcha.

Bento quality gone down the rice in the sushi is super hard. Really dissapointed.PLEASE BRING MORE ORGANIC FOOD INTO this store .Shock that most of the food and beauty products sold there have warning about being toxic / prop 65 contains TOXIC CHEMICAL may contribute to cancer and birth defect. Lot of the food also contains the mother load of MSG no thanks.everything is shocklingly unhealthy .The california rolls are a mess . Look like a 5 years old made those.Be aware lot of products on sale are already expired or about to expire . They also leave OLD sale up and they will not honor their sale price when items don't scan at the right price . Don't even bother showing a picture or trying to explain to the customer service 🙄 they will tell you no matter what must be the wrong item . Cashier cant even do return like a regular store you have to wait at the customer service which took forever .SHOP ON AMAZON for japanese product its way cheapper than tokyo central .Their bento quality arent all that and the sushi plater are way over priced compared to nijiya market . Unlike nijiya They will not let you place an order on the phone you have to physically go there to put the order than go back to pick it it . What a waste of time and gas . Ridiculous. Not much variety or wide selection. Still had to go to a grocery store after to get the necessary veggies to cook . The meat section was also bare. It is big store with a large selection of premium meat different cut some pre marinated . Good selection of raw fish ( however be ready to pay premium for the freshest fish 🐟) great selection of spices and sauces. I only go for the fresh fish as it is way super than american grocery store quality wise . Yes tokyo is more expensive than your average grocery store however some of it is imported products .they have an extremely tiny selection of organic fresh product / sauce and jas/ organic Japanese product . I wish they would offer a wider organic variety ( including organic meat ). If you are looking for the best Japanese grocery products this place is it . Lot of limited edition/ seasonal products too . Good variety of fresh Japanese dessert.the store is clean.during new year they got sashimi and special boat however this year they are grossly overpriced 80 to 100$+ its so outrageous and more than surrouding asian restaurent take out now .

That's a really good market with some hot and cold food. Clean and organized and carry specialty items labeled in Japanese. I like the poke I bought for my the deli area.

After spending a few weeks in Japan, my boyfriend and I were really missing. It was pretty nostalgic coming across a grocery store, so close to home, that made us feel like we were back in the beautiful country of Japan. We definitely will be coming back.

One of my favorite Japanese markets-- definitely my go-to in 626. I've been visiting since my trip to Japan last month just to ease the post-vacation blues. Their assortment of Japanese products is great- totally beats Mitsuwa in SGV by size and variety (but Mitsuwa was selling Royce chocolates the other day lol!). I thought I wouldn't find dark chocolate Pocky in America, but I did! You will even from red bean filled maple leaves with a picture of Miyajima from Japan, too! I can't think of any other Japanese superstore in the area where you can just browse for awhile. Wished they opened one up closer to San Gabriel area.

I love Tokyo Central's food court and grocery store. I frequent the fresh food section if I go early (before lunch). Most of their rolls are pretty good! I like to get the handrolls, spicy tuna rolls, or plain egg/tamago rolls. Also their spicy fried chicken rice bowls have gotten me through so many lunches. Very clean food court, seating and you can check out at any counter. Pretty quick and convenient in terms of service. Their hot food "buffet" section is based on how much you want to take. When you're ready to pay, they weigh your to-go box to determine the price. All of their hot food items are delicious and must gets are the takoyaki! The grocery store has so many things to look at, not just produce. Everything is organized and range from fresh, frozen, drinks, desserts lifestyle, kitchenware, etc! Definitely takes a bit of time to go through everything if you have time to shop around :)

Tokyo Central is probably one of the best places to go when you want to laze about on a Saturday afternoon. Many a weekend have I spent trying to figure out if I really want to just buy dinner or cook dinner. They have so many choices and were not just talking about food! They've got household items the kinds you'd see in an Instagram reel or TikTok, and you'll always find what you need. They carry items from Japan, Korea, Hawaii, and the Philippines. Growing up in the SGV means knowing your markets and boy will this place hit all the fun marks of one of the best local markets in the valley. If you're hankering cooked food they now have a hit food deli counter which is open until about 2 pm. Past that they usually pack up meals and have it ready to go on containers. They also have a wonderful sushi selection so you'll enjoy their amazing sushi bowls, rolls, and nigiri. And if you're really just looking for fun snacks they offer quite a large selection of imported cookies and candies for your next stay in movie date. I highly recommend Tokyo Central and I think you will too!

Love love this Japanese grocery store!! Wish it was a little closer to home. I enjoy getting the daily sushi rolls, so awesomely delish! Lots of other Japanese dry and fresh foods. Reasonable prices.

Now to the right of the main entrance there's a counter where they make fresh rice balls with such diverse offerings as grilled sockeye salmon, unagi eel, and Kobe beef! Delicious! Aisles are a bit narrower but it's because they offer even more options of produce and ready-made fresh foods each day! Come check it out! The lines at checkout seem long but they move very fast. You can ask for soy sauce, wasabi, and utensils at checkout if you want and can also eat on site at the tables beyond the cash registers on the way to the exit.

A traditional Japanese New year meal is so important. I was able to find everything I need and the some!!! Ready made food as well as all the ingredients I needed to make my own. The staff is so helpful to find the ingredients I couldn't find myself. The store is very well organized and the things I needed were all right there when you walk in!

I've been wanted to check out this Tokyo Central location for a while now, but I'm never in this area. So today, was my first time checking it out on Sat, 10/5/2024. My husband and I came by right before 2 PM and boy, was this place packed. The aisles are a little cramped but I loved exploring the whole store. From the ready made food bento boxes towards the front of the store, to the sushi grade fish, Wagyu beef towards the back, to the instant ramen and snacks in the middle, to the matcha/teas/drinks, to ice cream, tofu, and natto in the back. I particularly loved perusing the Japanese makeup, haircare, and skincare aisles. I considered buying a few items, but am still going through my Japanese haul of skincare and haircare (straight from Japan) from last year so I decided to hold out this time. Please note that the items at this store are definitely on the pricier side unless they're on sale. We ended purchasing some natto, frozen udon, face washes, a creamy melon soda, and chili oil. I can't wait to come back to grab more! Customer Service: We didn't have too much interaction with the staff. The only interaction was during our check out time. Everything went well and the guy was nice. No complaints here! Parking: Very hard to find parking. We had to circle the lot a few different times. We ended parking a little further closer to the Tesla charging station. Please note, these spots were small! Overall, I still had a great time (despite the super crowded store). I'll definitely find another opportunity to come back!

My favorite place to go to even then when it was MARUKAI. Market offers pre packed sushi plates, snacks , exotic fruits, kitchenwares , beauty section, seafood, and many many more!!! Love that they have pre cut sliced packed of meat for sukiyaki or Shabu shabu !! Today bought a floral insulated bag and Char shu Sauce jar. Store has the Halloween decor making it spooky but kid friendly for the shoppers in training. Red small shopping carts are provided ! Prompt checkout service with several lines open to help customers.

I could easily spend hours in Tokyo central and the good news would be that I could either grab a bite from their ready to eat section and sit at the dining area and then shop or I can finish shopping and then eat at the dining area after working an appetite from exploring all of the things they sell here! I'd avoid coming on a Sunday tho, this place is like a Costco on a Sunday afternoon - it gets PACKED. I think it would help if they had baggers or people helping the cashier, the line can get pretty long. Long enough to crowd the aisles and keep people from shopping things in those aisles. The ready to eat section is a gem on its own, from poke bowls to teriyaki chicken plates to fresh sushi, soup and more! We might have broke the golden rule of grocery shopping - we went while we were hungry and boy did we over buy ready to eat items hahaha but no regrets here! The umami karage was a favorite, and the veggie croquette was fried perfectly (how the heck do they get it so crispy without it feeling oily!?). They have such a huge selection of everything and a wide variety of offerings that I'd recommend letting yourself explore non perishables before getting to the refrigerated items! The employees here were busy bees too, non stop stocking and so helpful!

This market is great! The food here is pretty good. Tokyo Central has a wide variety of food but it's mostly raw. (I don't eat raw food a lot) If you want cooked food I think Nijiya market is good. Still, food here is good and has a restaurant inside.

Did not know what to expect but my bf and I were in the area for a Yelp Elite event and saw this on the map so we knew we had to drop by! Honestly thought it would be some kind of anime store but it's just a much bigger Mitsuwa Market if you're familiar with that! Great parking lot and insanely huge Japanese/Hawaiian marketplace! Loved seeing the large selection of Hawaiian goodies such as chocolate covered macadamias and other snacks. They had like 4 aisles of chips and candy which was amazing! They also had a tower of different instant noodles which was fun to check out. Right as you enter, there's a huge selection of bento and prepared food which was fantastic. Always good to see those and stock up for the week or something. They also have an amazing selection of drinks! They had the canned Hawaiian juice drinks in bulk packs but also had a nice deal of 6 in the refrigerated section. In the corner by the exit is also a small anime toy/figure section which was cool but they didn't have much unfortunately. Incredible market and hope to get one in the San Fernando Valley someday! We always love to shop at Tokyo Central in West Covina. It reminds me the time when we were in Japan. They have a lot of varieties and great selections of the prepared food and they are delicious. They also have fresh sushi and sashimi, onigiri, desserts, seafood, meat, fresh produce, bread, many cute Japanese snacks and cosmetics, etc. Food court also offers delicious meals with dining area and microwave available.

8/22/24 I' ve been meaning to visit this store since my Yelp friends have mentioned it. It's convenient because we just finished dinner at Lan noodles. Lately, I have been on the lookout for chocolate matcha covered almonds or anything chocolate & matcha anything. I was disappointed not finding this combination. Hubby is always in hurry to leave so it didn't buy me much time to browse. It was about 9:30 pm on a Thursday night and it's not crowded at all. Initially I was looking for Ichiran noodles and found them on sale . Additionally, I was also looking for chasu for a ramen dish I wanted to try & make. I didn't realize how much snacks there are on display at this Asian inspired store, many of which are, of course, imported. There is a huge variety of sweet & savory snacks, loads & loads of them. Hubby was waiting again, so my time to explore was limited. I visited most of the aisles, giving a cursory glance at what this store has to offer. Fortunately, I found & bought a few items of interest, yam noodles, matcha mochi, mochi covered hazelnuts, chasu, etc. Prices are somewhat fair. Most items are written on foreign languages but some are in English. The beauty supply dept. looked interesting but I ran out of time. There are a myriad of spices & sauces I would like to check out when I return in th near future. I find the fresh produce section to be limited (fruits/veggies). Interestingly, they were selling these "shiny" grapes for $19.99, oddly expensive for just a few grapes. They have grab n go section for cooked food in a refrigerated area, sushi, salads & the like. The cashier was friendly, we exchanged pleasantries, which I thought was really nice & unexpected. This is not something I would experience at 99 Ranch or Hmart. Yep, this place is surely one of the places to shop for items you will not likely find at Vons, Stater Bros. or Sprouts. Come check it out!

I've been shopping here for years when in the area and finally decided to try their tempura dish that is available in their prepared foods section along with some various flavored teas (Hawaiian Sun brand). I reheated the food with my air fryer and it was restaurant quality, crispy and flavorful. I would definitely recommend this place for prepared foods. This is a good sized store that offers a variety of groceries and sushi grade seafood. They also offer sushi in their prepared foods. The clerks are very friendly as well.

Definitely still a wonderful deep in the heart of SGV's edge! Located in a great plaza, now with Tesla supercharging! The 7pm packaged fresh food, sushi, and entree discounts are still one of the best cheap meal deals around. The market is still a great place to bring friends and family to walk around and enjoy a wide variety of Japanese, Chinese, and Hawaiian goods. Staff are more than friendly and willing to help out if you feel a bit overwhelmed or lost in the aisles of many goodies. Plus, it's definitely worth a detour if you're visiting the nearby mall or IKEA. Worth checking out and coming back to!

We came here and shop around before we heard over to IKEA. This is my first time here and I already love the store! They had so many prepared hot meals and bento boxes at affordable prices that I would love to try out in the future. I wasn't too hungry so I only got some snacks and teas to try. There wasn't a long line and the service was pretty quick since I came when it first opened. Again, I'm pretty impressed.

If you like Japanese/Hawaiian food and snacks, cosmetics, pottery and porcelain, beer/sake, etc., this is the place to go! My husband (who is half Japanese) absolutely LOVES this store! He must go here three times a week. We went on a Sunday, and it was packed. People drive from far away to shop here. They have everything you could ever want. The selection is unbelievable. They even sell red hot dogs and Zippy's chili from Hawaii and strawberries from Japan. Their sushi platters are beautiful. I love their Deep-roasted sesame dressing for salads. Their huli huli sauce is the best! The teriyaki, miso ginger, spicy, and black pepper chicken are all delicious! We enjoyed a few samples while we were there. They have adorable miniature grocery carts for children. They also have a large area with chairs, tables, and a microwave where you can eat the food that you buy there. You could seriously spend hours in this store, just browsing the aisles. It is a store like no other in this area!

My first time at Tokyo Central after years of not knowing what I was missing out on. First off, this store is super clean and well maintained. I came in the morning and staff is all over the place keeping it clean, and stocking the shelves. The fresh food selection looked and smelled amazing, and I was mad that I was only there to buy some ingredients and meat. The prices weren't too bad, but maybe depends what you are getting. The eating area is super roomy and convenient for folks who just come to buy their fresh meals. The food service staff are very friendly. I was in awe of the wide selection of Japanese imported snacks; I definitely had to buy some to take home to the kids. I am definitely coming back, and plan on making regular visits here. Also looking forward to trying the other locations that appear to be bigger than this location.

It's more of a 4.5 than a full 5 stars. Don't get me wrong, Tokyo Central is just the best place to shop for Japanese food items like sashimi and all sorts of soy sauces. They stock even the most obscure items you won't be able to find anywhere else. So I'm very grateful that a place like this is close to my home. Tokyo Central did an admirable job during the pandemic by steadfastly implementing their policy of making everybody line up to disinfect their carts. They also made sure nobody bought more toilet paper to the detriment of others. They also did not engage in predatory pricing. However this year, I'm disappointed to see that the prices of a lot of their wares shot up. I'm sure they were feeling the heat from their own suppliers and I can totally empathize as a small business owner myself, but as a longtime customer, I'm still a little shell-shocked by just how much their pricing increased. A small pack of kurubota sausages now costs around $11 when it used to go for no more than $7 just a year ago if my memory serves me right. I'm not angry about it....I just can't believe it. It seems that they've realized that their customers are hurting badly from the economy, so every now and then, they price certain things on sale. I just wish the pricing adjustment was permanent and enacted across the board for all their products. It's probably not going to happen. So I'm just grateful that they listen to their customers and try to woo us back every now and then with their sales.

A wonderful place to find everything your heart desires. Lol. Leaning towards more of the Japanese style favorites it's a jackpot. There's also some Hawaiian staples as well like lau lau, Portuguese sausage and poi. Which are from Hawaii and usually mostly sold out but this time I was able to grab a few. Sushi, tempura, sandwiches, mochi, Bakery and hot dishes are right in front once you enter. The opposite entrance has merchandise and clothing. The produce and meats are towards the back section. Along with kitchen items, utensils and appliances. My parents introduced me to this market years ago. This is one of their favorite places to visit. They can spend hours here looking at every nook and cranny. I can't pass up a visit when I see one.

We first found this place because we were craving local Hawaiian food and were ecstatic to find Portuguese sausage, Zippy's chili, and Hawaiian Sun. Fast forward many years later and post- Japan vacation, we now come here wherever we have Japan withdrawals. Located in West Covina, Tokyo Central is a miniature Don Quixote, which is found everywhere in Japan and is known as a multi-level discount store selling snacks, cosmetics, electronics, and pretty much everything! While Tokyo Central is only one floor, it does the job of filling the Japan-sized hole in our hearts. Upon entry, there is a great selection of cold and hot food. The cold food encompasses sushi, hand rolls, donbori, and sweets. My wife always gets spicy tuna hand rolls, maki, and onigiri. My kids always gets the sweet cakes. The hot food is a cafeteria style which is weighed by the pound. Yesterday, it included beef oden, takoyaki, chicken karaage, salmon, etc. The food is always on point and definitely tastes like what one would find in Japan. Walking through the store, there are products reminiscent of Japan. The vending machine coffees? Tokyo Central has Craft Bros (the only thing missing is the vending machine). There are also strawberry dars, corn puffs, calbee treats. Definitely recommend this store for Japanese products and a taste of Japan.

One of my go to supermarkets as it's super convenient and has the most comprehensive collection of Japanese foods, staples and goodies. Fun fact: after 7pm, they run a 20% off promo on all of their fresh food items which is what i do sometimes when im on my way home from work and don't want to go out / make food :D

I've been to Tokyo central lots of times cause of their delicious sushi and their buffet is the best with their takoyaki, tempura shrimp and so much more. 10 outta 10 for this place and looking forward to my next visit here !! Keep up the awesome work and excited to try some more delicious food and some yummy desserts

Sushi and food here is pretty good. The Ramen reheats really well and their fish selection is great. I always try to stop buy when I'm in the area.

I have been frequenting this Tokyo central now for the past year and they certainly keep a high standard for their fish quality no matter what time of the day I come to pick up their sashimi grade products. The workers are open to answering any questions I have and I feel that this location is never too busy and I have gone here on both a weekend and weekdays. It's exceptionally clean, quiet, and rather peaceful (and therapeutic) everytime I have gone to Tokyo Central. I was able to make a 5-fish omakase dinner using all ingredients sourced from Tokyo Central. I highly recommend trying the sake salmon and the salmon to get a feel for which salmon you like most. The sake salmon is more delicate and breaks more easily compared to the salmon sashimi grade product so I would recommend thicker slices to prevent it from falling apart. Also if you go early enough, some of the fish may still be frozen in the packaging so take that into account when you plan your next sushi making session at home ! I would leave the scallops (sashimi grade) out to fully thaw while prepping the other pieces of fish. I highly recommend Tokyo Central for their excellent quality sashimi grade products.

What a fun experience! This is definitely the place to go for specialty grocery items to prepare for Japanese New Year! Rice cakes "mochi" was on the top of our list. Also, vegetables such as fresh burdock root "gobo" and a wide variety of pickled vegetables such as kimchi, etc. The meat department has nice meats such as thinly sliced beef for Shabu-Shabu and sukiyaki. Pretty much everything needed for a Japanese New Year's feast can be found here. Canned items that we purchased included Japanese black beans "Kuro mame" as well as frozen vegetables that contain a mixture of shiitake, bamboo root, etc. The interior is bright, clean, bustling and well organized with an upbeat vibe. Service was fine and seemed pretty efficient. Although it was super crowded right before New Year, we didn't have to wait too long in line. The other great thing about Tokyo Central is that they have prepared foods such as sushi and sashimi that you can eat there. A fairly wide variety is offered. My Mom usually has a nice sashimi lunch and dines in there, when she goes with her friend. Highly recommended!

I love Tokyo Central, and I especially love their prepared food sections - both the hot and cold. The market, including the dining area, is always kept clean. Restrooms are available. There is ample parking in the private lot. Employee attitudes can vary - they are generally pretty nice and helpful. It can get pretty busy here, especially later in the day when the prepared foods go on sale. It's a great time to buy the food, but it turns into a grab-fest and people can get really pushy. There is a dining area in which you can heat up any food you need to. It has a hot/cold water dispenser, and plenty of seating. Make sure to ask for utensils at the register. They have a great variety of Japanese grocery items. They also have a lot of Japanese home goods, toys/collectibles, and makeup. I only took off one star because it's more expensive in comparison to other markets. If you're looking to expand your pantry, this is a good option - just be wary of the prices.

MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! whether i have a craving for some freshly prepared japanese food or wanting to explore different imported products, they have it all here! this grocery has an extensive selection of specialty foods imported from japan, as well as a great deli! the sushi here is delicious and i love the prepackaged meals that are fresh daily! it looks like their best hot food is from 11-2pm and i always end up missing it but they do package it all and keep it on a hot shelf after that time. during checkout, make sure to ask the cashier for utensils and sauces! i cant bare sushi without soy sauce, ginger and chopsticks. they're more than happy to provide them to you if you ask. i highly recommend stopping in and taking a look at their selection of products. i'm sure you'll find something interesting and something you'll love.

Another great Tokyo Central location! This one is closest to the inland empire. If you are headed into LA from Riverside or San Bernardino on the 10 bring a cooler and do your sushi supply shopping on the way home. Especially if there is traffic. Hop off the freeway and go shopping here. The ice chest is in the back right of the store, so your fish will stay cold all the way home. They also have lots of great premade sushi, bentos and aisles of snacks. Their produce is outstanding too. Overall highly recommend.

Fun place to get lots of Asian groceries. The aisles are clean and organized. Some times you can get free samples. And people are very helpful. I usually pop in to get discounted sushi towards the end of the day for tomorrow's lunch.

After returning from a trip to Japan, my craving for authentic Japanese snacks, pastries, and sushi was insatiable. Memories flooded back as I stepped into Tokyo Central, formerly Marukai, a place I frequented years ago. Passing through Los Angeles, I couldn't resist the urge to drop by. Walking into Tokyo Central was like stepping back into Japan. The array of snacks, the Japanese music in the background - it was all too familiar and comforting. My excitement peaked as I browsed through the aisles, overwhelmed by the selection of treats. From snacks to desserts, drinks, and even prepared sushi, the choices were endless. I indulged in an assortment of snacks, desserts, and drinks, along with some Nigiri sushi and Sashimi scallops. Knowing they wouldn't be as fresh tomorrow, I devoured the raw sushi, and to my surprise, they were delicious, although not quite omakase quality. But for now, they satisfied my cravings until my next trip to Japan. The staff at Tokyo Central were incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the pleasant experience. The supermarket itself was impeccably organized and clean, making it a joy to shop around. I'll definitely be returning more often to stock up on snacks and prepared foods. Tokyo Central has truly become my go-to spot for a taste of Japan in Los Angeles area.

First off, for anyone who said there is a food court, THERE IS NO FOOD COURT. We have never been here before and read there is a food court based on a few of the reviews. There is a deli counter and an area with tables and seats but don't be fooled that there is active counter service like you experience at Mitsuwa West LA or Torrance or Costa Mesta. Deli counter has limited hours so it wasn't opened in the evening. The dining room area was roped off. We were starving and found a large variety of to go bentos. It was nice but it was not what we were looking for! We just ended up going to DCF Xpress. Other than that, we appreciate the variety of products! Great as a supermarket but not for a food court.

Best place to get fresh sushi grade fish. Unbeatable prices and quality. The amount of times I've been there to buy fish there has only been once where it wasn't up to standard. Anything you need you will find. Clean and helpful staff as well.

As soon as I walked in I felt like I was back at all my fave convience, groceries stores, & food halls in Japan!!! They have a great varity of snacks, drinks & of course Japanese Candies!!! They also have a hot food area. If you love coffee head over to their drink section and get a cold UCC coffee! My new fave their cafe latte so good and not too sweet! If you love icecream anything peach is a sure bet! Everyone is so friendly and the staff goes out of their way to help! The store is well maintained and they even have a seating area where you can eat. If you are ever looking for anything Japan & more I promise this place is worth the visit!

Don quijote in los Angeles! Never knew. Far drive to get here. But has every category youd expect to find in a don quijote in Japan. I love the beauty section. Most customers buy a lot of food items. Some sales too.

Checked this place out while charging our car. Very clean and lots of prepared food selection. There's sushi, bento boxes, desserts, entrees...yum! If you gym next door, this place is dangerous after your workout. Good to know there's a Japanese market close to us, outside of Alhambra and Little Tokyo.

This place is dangerous to your wallet. There are so many goodies from drinks, snacks, hot and cold prepared foods, groceries, and much more. This place is the reason why we carry a Styrofoam box with ice packs in the car every time we visit Los Angeles. Las Vegas can really use a place like this. This time we got the Gyu Don, Mapu Tofu Don, and the Black Garlic Oil Tonkotsu Ramen from the cold deli section to take back with us back to LV. We also got some Japanese snacks and beverages along with some Futomaki rolls and a Japanese egg salad to sandwich for the drive back. This place is a bit pricey but the cold prepped foods are a bargain and it's restocked daily at 11:30 AM daily so you know it's fresh.

The premade food is my favorite. The store is so cute and has so many goodies. The staff are so sweet they let me bring in my Pomeranian who's a really good boy btw. I love this store!! My boyfriend loves their Oni beers (esp match flavor). It's the only place that sells them.

This place does carry a lot of Japanese goods. However there is a drastic increase of prices in some of its carried goods, especially the prepared / cooked food, such as a bowl of ramen or a bento box of teriyaki chicken ( close to $14 each). I personally don't think it is worth it as you can get fresh take out at some places with that price. I do enjoy coming here but won't frequent as often anymore. The Japanese market in little Tokyo Los Angeles is far better in its price department with the same variety of Japanese food and goods.

Super clean grocery store with a huge selection of to go food that's ready made. Prices are average. Lots of items we can't find back home in Coachella Valley. Workers were helpful when looking for certain items. I'll definitely be back here!

Plenty of food selection. Poke bowl was fresh and great assortment. Less than $15 for the box, can't beat that price.

Tokyo Central is a great local Japanese grocery store in the SGV. It was surprisingly busy and large, offering food and drink options from all over. I recently returned from a trip to Japan and am missing the food. I found Tokyo Central when trying to find a grocery store to buy the necessary ingredients to recreate the food. I was pleasantly surprised with the options and quality of the store. They had niche snacks, hot food, and high quality meat options. I noticed a lot of other customers were there for the thin sliced beef, which was affordable and well worth the price. It's definitely the best option around and I will definitely be back to support. It makes me happy to see how popular the grocery store is and that they can provide things for every person. Thoroughly impressed with its convenience and selection.

I love this market! Come here for your Japanese needs! There ready to go food selection is huge and everything is delicious. This market is always fully restocked and super clean. All staff are friendly and kind.

They have varieties of food, drinks and snacks internationally. So satisfying each time I'm here. Great customer service, the lady was very sweet and friendly to help me find the shopping basket. Today I got the Inari Sampler for lunch. Price is very reasonable as $5.49, all ingredients are fresh and nicely seasoned. There are five different types of Inari Sushi in one package for you to enjoy. It was perfect for me for a quick lunch!! They also serve hot food and bento on the side!! For sure a heaven of yummy food. Can't wait to come back to try more!! Very spacious shopping area, clean and organized!!

Ohhhhh!!!! This is THE PLACE to get some fresh sushi and Japanese snacks! Their sashimi is so fresh. They even have ootoro (tuna belly) at a very reasonable price. It is always very clean and the service at the cashiers are usually pretty fast. I have to limit myself how much goodies to get because each trip I always spend at least $150 easy. There are plenty of parking but if you want good selection of sushi, you need to go before noon to get the best pick! If you ever in the area and want some good Japanese food and snacks, go to Tokyo Central!

I lived 5 minutes away from their Costa Mesa location for 3 years, and I also had the chance to visit a few other locations. This location is just as well kept as any other one. Their standard for pulchritude, order and cleanliness are evident. A few things have a bit of a markup (I attached a pic of one of those items) but if you mostly come here for food, you can't go wrong. Their sushi section alone is definitely worth a trip here: always fresh and with lots of variety. Only thing missing is someone saying 「いらっしゃいませ！」as you walk through the doors but everything else about this place rocks! P.S.: Their "proudly" made in Japan sign made me chuckle. Were they being sarcastic at their own quality control or do they take true pride in it and were using the quotations for extra emphasis? We shall never know!

Good place to get fresh food, vegetables, fish, meat and others. They also have sushi, sashimi, tonkatsu, tempura, teriyaki chicken, soup... much more plus a good size area to feast on what they have right there inside the premises.
