Tokyo Central Yorba Linda

My friend introduced me to this 💎 gem! I really love this store for its fresh meats, fish, produce and so many Japanese and Asian foods, snacks and drinks ! It’s a definite must see ! They also have a sushi restaurant inside with a lunch/dinner time Japanese hot and delicious- small buffet style food/ramen options. You can grab some yummy and delicious lunch then shop for groceries !

Every time I miss japan I end up at tokyo central. usually at the gardena location but this one opened up so close to home. It's clean, well stocked and had enough parking. i loaded up on japanese snacks, miso soup, strong zeros and finished it off with ramen. will be back again real soon.

I come here to get some fast Japanese food. It’s convenient to go to the food court and buy something and eat there or just take it to go. I’ve actually been going here rather then going to Japanese sit in restaurants. I just love the convenience of everything.

I just wanted to commend Elizabeth at the Yorba Linda store for having wonderful customer service. She took the time to look up my receipt so that I could make a return, and did so with a smile. Which was going above and definitely deserves some praise! Thank you Elizabeth!

Tokyo Central boasts a pretty good place to eat out if you are into sushi, yashimi, chicken teriyaki or some yakisobi noodles. There is a small lounge within the grocery store to eat your meal or have it to go. The cashier will ask if you need untensils or condiments before leaving. If not you could ask for it on the way out. Most of the items are imports from Japan, although you will find a mix of American products just as well. The place is clean and well organized. Enjoy your time!

This is a great stop after 7pm for 20% off sushi — just don’t come too late or you’ll miss out. The shelves clear fast! The snack aisle is full of nostalgic favorites — stuff I haven’t seen since childhood. Definitely fun to browse and pick up a few treats. It’s a little more expensive than other Asian markets, but it’s always clean, well-organized, and close to home. The location near Yorba Linda Town Center is super convenient, especially when you don’t feel like driving far.

Great prices and a variety of Japanese food with a small selection of home goods and cosmetics. Convenient for to-go ready-to-eat food, quick bite restaurants and traditional seasonal specials from various regions of Japan. Most items have descriptions in English, but if you need more information about it, just ask one of the friendly employees- best customer service ever! If you want a wonderful cultural Japanese experience and explore various Japanese items, or if you're missing the taste of home (Japan), come to Tokyo Central!

Great place with lots of Japanese groceries and other Asian items. Prices seemed reasonable, and the employees were friendly. End of day lot of food items like sandwiches, hot foods and desserts get marked down by 20%.. Id think maybe a little better a discount for stuff they will toss but other than that it was cool.

Great Customer Service, But Cleanliness Needs Attention I frequent this store often, and I have to say the customer service is excellent. The cashiers are always friendly, and even when the lines get long, they work hard to keep things moving efficiently. However, there's one major issue that needs to be addressed--cleanliness. Every time I visit, the trash bins are overflowing, and the store can get pretty busy, so I understand why. It seems like they're understaffed when it comes to keeping the store clean, especially during peak hours. This is a great store with hardworking employees, but the cleanliness situation really detracts from the shopping experience. I hope management takes this into consideration and adds more staff to keep up with the store's busy nature.

This is one of my favorite Tokyo Centrals. The self serve food line and sushi bento varieties are always my favorite. They always taste so fresh with tons of flavor. It always reminds me of being back in Japan. I went this weekend and the staff at the hot food self serve line were soooo nice and accommodating. Really appreciate it. My family and I like to grab a plate of a bit of a few items from the hot food trays, a few prepared boxes or trays of sushi, snacks, a few drinks and have lunch at their seating area. It's really fun. Oh yeah and their fried chicken and croquettes here are really good. Highly recommended.

Daiso for groceries! Every isle is filled with cool (read: unrecognizable to me Japanese) stuff. Expensive and same high quality like Whole Foods, but a LOT more interesting. I will be back! I was shopping for miso soup mix, and found a good selection. Mrs. Yelper and I got the hankerin for miso into which we add rice noodles and shrimp. Nice meal and for us something different. I also got sushi for $18. Wow good but at that price a luxury. TC has lots of hot foods too. Would love to go back for that, not sure if there's a place to sit and eat it. I guess take home. Or in the car.

Came here around 4PM on a weekend evening, hoping to grab dinner. Unfortunately, the fresh food bar where you pay by weight was already closed (took off a star for closing relatively early). The good thing is they have a bunch of prepackaged foods you can choose from, such as ramen, sushi, chicken matsu plates, bento boxes (just to name a few). I opted for the Hawaiian bowl, while my partner opted for the okinoniyaki and chicken katsu. They have tables both indoors and outdoors after you check out, with a microwave available to use for heating up food. I loved the Hawaiian plate with tuna and salmon over rice. While the other dishes (which we microwaved) were edible, they definitely dont compare to eating it fresh. I still enjoy this market for a quick and convenient meal when you don't have the patience to wait at a restaurant lol. I would visit again, but next time, I will make sure to come earlier before the hot food bar closes.

I love Tokyo central provide all kinds of Japanese food and wine too. Service was good and lots sale items. Also selling sushi and sashimi and hot food too. Very clean and lots selections of drinks and fresh Shabu meats too.

After going to Japan for the first time, I appreciate Tokyo Central more. I've gone many times before but once I came back post Japan, it felt like I was back in Japan. I loved how I could find some snacks and skincare/hair care products that I found at Don Quixote.

I never wrote a review for this store but I absolutely love coming here. They have all the delicious Japanese foods, desserts and treats here. They also sell hot foods and sushi. They even have a bar. They have everything you need. I actually came cause they have some Hello kitty stuff i wanted to get for my daughter and friend. Thank you for amazing customer service and having all the good stuff here. I am editing this cause I wrote my review fast yesterday. But the employees here are so sweet, the parking lot isn't too bad. They have so much variety of snacks, food, cute stuff, even macadamia nuts and chocolates from Hawaii. I really love this store i should come here more often. I highly recommend if you haven't been here yet. Have a beautiful day :) Aloha

Tokyo Central in Yorba Linda (DonQui) is my go to Japanese market. Mainly because it's the closest to my location. I can find everything that I need from sashimi grade fish, sushi rice, ramen and udon noodles, Japanese drinks and much more -- they even have a variety of popular Hawaiian grocery items. One of the reasons I come back to this location is how clean it is. It's very spacious compared to other Tokyo Central locations I've visited. I only started coming to this Yorba Linda location during the pandemic and I felt comfortable shopping here knowing that the staff made sure everything was clean. You can tell it was their priority. They also have friendly employees here. I've never been disappointed with this place and I do drive quite a bit just to get here. Overall, I love that I can find my favorite Japanese products all in one place.

All I can say is WOW! Glad this popped up on my social media feed. I could spend hours in this place. So so so many things to choose from. This place feels like an authentic Japanese market from when I lived in Okinawa. Lots of grab and go bento trays to choose from. And you can even grab a prepared bowl of ramen and heat it up after you pay, then sit down inside or outside at their cozy eating area. Awesome! I bought so much stuff! Even a restaurant style torch! Not sure when I'll use it but it looked cool and I bought it. lol Will return many times even if it is an hour drive for me. Good luck

This Tokyo Central is very conviniently located in Yorba Linda, with plenty of parking in the complex. The store are kept clean, neat, and well lit. They offer variety of snacks, drinks, groceries, instant noodles, spices, sauces, vegetables, meats, and ready to eat foods. We came in a couple times already for groceries, but this is the first time I've left a review. We also wanted to try the ready to eat foods so we ended up with the popcorn chicken with rice, inari Sushi, and mochi Bites along with some drinks (not pictured). After paying for our haul, we found a table just by the cash register and enjoyed the food. There is a microwave right by the seating area as well so we were able to get the food heated prior to enjoying them. The popcorn chicken obviously wasn't super crispy after the micro, but it was decent enough. For the price and portion, and the convenience of it! I wish all American groceries would take note and have something like this more readily available. Anyways, the Inari sushi was also on point, I think it came in 5 or 6 pieces? but we were hungry so the picture only showed the one :p The mochi bites we opted for the peanut flavored one. It was light and delicious, and it wasn't too sweet. Overall we had a great time going grocery shopping and we even enjoyed some great food afterward.

Excellent, hot buffet + deli with amazing braised pork belly, ribs, dumplings, sushi etc... finish off your visit with some light shopping, the market has tons of niche goodies and snacks straight from Nippon. This food court area I'd argue is one of the very best in North OC. 5 stars.

I've been to the other store in West Covina so we wanted to check out this one in Yorba Linda. We like going first thing I. The morning so it's not as crowded. They had all the ingredients that I was looking for. Low sodium soy sauce, merin, cooking sake, miso paste, frozen shrimp tempura, dried seaweed, daikon, eel sauce, Kewpie mayo, sesame seed dressing, flavored jelly drinks and numerous variety of snacks. The checkout cashier was fast so there wasn't much delay. Maybe next time if we go here, we'll try out the newly opened hand sushi roll restaurant that is located inside.

Barely any meat in stock today on Sunday afternoon, left with few options and disappointment.

I love this market. It's fresh, clean, and fully stocked. And all the people that work there are helpful as can be. I highly recommend coming out here. When I'm in this area, I always make sure to stop by. They have my favorite snacks, but I think the purple one, my favorite, is discontinued. I haven't seen it in months!! And that was the sweet purple potato flavor. (Last pic but purple color). Please ask the vendor to make some more. I loved it!! Thanks Tokyo Central Team for a great service!!

We stopped here to buy some food on our way to a hotel in Anaheim. We wanted some quick meals/snacks to have in our room. We've been to a Tokyo Central market before but never this one. We found several great options to bring on our trip and we were really happy with what we got.

I am a big fan of Tokyo Central and frequent the location in West Covina. However, my husband and I were in the neighborhood and decided to stop by here two Saturdays ago. We stopped by around 3 pm for a late lunch. We picked up a few premade meals, which were: Chopped & Scattered Sushi (Bara Chirashi), $14.99- Plenty of sashimi, perfect over a bed of sushi rice which is soft and lightly sweetened. The portion size of this is more than enough for one person to feel full and satisfied. Aburi Salmon (Seared Salmon) Nigiri, $16.99- This is one of my husband's favorite things to get at Tokyo Central, however at the location in West Covina does not sell these nigiri in 10 pieces and only in 5 pieces. The salmon is perfectly seared and has a nice light char flavor. Spicy Pork Ramen, $10.99- My husband opted to get the ramen. Because I do not like to eat spicy food, I didn't have any but my husband thought it was good. Portion size is perfect for one person. --------------------------------- (Total= $42.97) The woman's restroom during this visit was not clean and in deep need of some refreshing and restocking of soap and toilet paper (only one soap dispenser had a small amount of liquid soap left and the other one was all out. I ended up using some paper I had in my purse since the toilet paper was gone in all 3 stalls). I was having some trouble taping my credit card at the register. I was about to just inset my credit card instead when the employee at the bagging area just pulled my credit card out of my hands to try to help me pay for food items. I didn't really like that and wished the employee had asked instead of just rip my credit card out of my hand. I do like that this Tokyo Central does have (covered) outdoor seating available, in addition to indoor seating (with a microwave and water dispenser). Being that this location is not near my home or where I typically visit/ frequent, I most likely won't be visiting this location again anytime soon.

Yoruba Linda has a huge gigantic Tokyo Central Supermarket that has plenty of parking and is very well organized. I love browsing their already meal prepped food and some are cold dishes and hot bento boxes. You can have lunch and dinner ready to go and take it to whereever you want it to be. My favorite that I always pick up is the little hand rolls that are filled with salmon or tuna. I also tend to get some noodles from here and also some cute items like Hello Kitty products. They have a wide range of snacks, drinks, and frozen food that is made in Japan and brought here. The prices might be a little bit higher but that's probably because it is from Japan. Some things though are also from America and they also do sell some Hawaiann products. Love this supermarket!

Love this place! Especially the hot meals! Always a fresh selection of foods as well as snacks! Can't go wrong, it's all delicious! Employees are typically friendly and they're well stocked in everything you need!

Great place for some fresh sushi! From sashimi to rolls and onigiri, they have it all. The grocery store is clean and has seating at the front of the store to enjoy your meal. I will be back to try their hot foods that is priced $10 per lb. After 7pm, their fresh items are 20% off!

Great place to get your favorite Japanese snacks and freshly made sushi, sashimi, and hot foods. And do try their hand roll cafe by the entrance. The quality of fish is superb, and green matcha iced tea is smooth and refreshing!

I would say this is still the one and only best Japanese Market we've been going to. They have all kinds of goods available as well as a well stocked Japanese To Go food and bento boxes. This is the only Japanese Market that caters hot food to go. You just pick what you like put into their to go boxes the cashier weighs what you put in the to go box and off you go! I wanted my usual the Bara Chirasi but it was not available, I asked the Chef if the still have some and she was so nice about saying "I'll make you one!" That's what I call real customer service! Thank Chef!

I used to go to Mitsuwa market in Costa Mesa when I worked nearby. I am so glad one of the neighbors mentioned the Tokyo Central. I love all the freshly prepared sushi and fresh prepared food. I grabbed and grabbed. This would be my default place to go if I need something ready to eat. While I am here I would grab some veggies and healthy snack too. I am so happy to find this place!! They have a lot of mushrooms too!!

This place is so quiet and it's so clean, they got quite good option for the groceries though some specific item is not there, but a substitute might do! The service is good, the staffs directs you to the item you need. The eating place is clean! That's a must and for a small Japanese trusted grocery! This place is good!

I had a wonderful experience strolling the aisles of Tokyo Central! I have visited other locations, but this one had a variety of unique cooked food options, sushi, and baked goods. The store was not crowded and very organized so the ambiance felt calm and welcoming. I picked up lots of things including some Pink Pineapple and look forward to my next trip out.

Love this place! Fresh sushi, sashimi, katsu first thing in the morning! I was waiting for sashimi and the chef asked what I was looking for and within a couple of minutes he brought it out. Poke was delicious that I forgot to take a photo before eating. Store was very quiet and very clean. Staff was very nice as well!

Tokyo central is my go to supermarket for shabu-shabu supplies. Shabu-shabu has become something of a special occasion meal for my family. I can get all of the specialty ingredients at Tokyo central. The butcher counter will even cut meat on demand if they don't have what I am looking for on the floor. Prices are good, especially on high end cuts of meat like ribeye, pork belly, and lamb.

I've been wanting to stop by and check out @tokyo.central for awhile and I'm glad I had a chance to visit the #yorbalinda location. Such a big selection of Japanese groceries in #socal Let's go explore... - A HUGE selection of sushi and sashimi. It was nice to see that they were restocking the sushi area so everything looked fresh and oh so good! - Bento boxes are amazing! - Ramen were ready to go in the food court. - Poke Bowls had big chunks of spicy salmon at a great price. - Most excited for the Tako Sashimi! One of my favorites!! - Sandwich options for lunch. - So many sweet treats, including skewered Dango. - Wonderful selection of hot food items for lunch and dinner. - So much fresh fish - So many Kimchi options, including cucumber kimchi. - Soup Base for Hot Pot and whatever you need for it. - An amazing selection of Frozen foods, like Pork Bao and Buns. - Wagyu Beef for Shabu Shabu and other meat options. - Their produce department had a great selection and nicely displayed. - So many snack options that looked so yummy. They have all the seasonings, seaweed and sriracha mayo to make your own Poke Bowls at home, which I did stock up on. And, so much more to see that would probably take another trip there lol

I love Tokyo central! Everything you could ever want and need from a Japanese market. HOWEVER , I got their hot food for the first time, and man that was disappointing. Everything was either dry or rubbery. I got a variety, yakisoba, shrimp tempura, fishcake tempura (my favorite), karaage, takoyaki, spicy (house special?) Chicken, agedashi tofu. I will definitely come again, because they have NEVER disappointed when it comes to their (grocery store) sushi and bakery. Parking can be tough sometimes because it's popular. Service has always been hospitable.

Gotta love this place, they have lots of hard to find Japanese products and foods. Love the fact I can find the items of my childhood here, and familiar brands and tastes. If you're looking for Japanese foods and goods this is your place, and all at very reasonable prices.

I had an amazing time grocery shopping at Tokyo Central! It's truly a treasure trove with its freshly made sushi and bentos at fantastic prices. The Japanese bakery was a delight, and the wide array of Japanese snacks and ice creams made my visit even better. I'm so glad I discovered this place!

I like to say this is the best thing Yorba Linda has added in recent years. I love coming here for their ready-to-eat meals, which they have a lot of variety from sushi to ramen to rice bowls. If you ever want to do kbbq at home they also have a small selection of thinly sliced meats as well. Don't forget to check out the beauty section near the drink wall! I love getting japanese hair care products here too. Overall I love this place so much for their asian selection of products, and can't wait to try the new hand roll bar!

Please do not serve day old Unagi bowl!!! I regret asking someone to pick it up for me. ( lunch run) Rice is clumpy and crusty, old. Eel is extra fishy and hard. Old. Reheated to piping hot. Trying to eat it because I can't throw away 15 dollar lunch even though I already have. I am sorry stomach. No more Tokyo Central! IKE MASEN.

I just moved to this area and was super excited to see that this Tokyo Central has cooked food available for purchase!!! I grabbed a Togo box right away and filled it with Fried rice, noodles, shrimp tempura , and grilled fish ! All for $10.95 The sushi selection was bigger . They also had Poke . I could spend all day shopping here

Purchased a package of ground pork over the weekend with a Best By Date June 5, 2024. There was a strong odor upon opening of the package. Then I found these black spots (mold?) embedded all over. I tossed the package. This is not the first time I found old/expired meat in Tokyo Central. It is supposed to carry high end produce but sadly I find it a hit or miss situation.

I come here probably ever other week minimum to pick up some staples and for an easy sushi dinner. I have never had an issue parking here, and I often come in the early evenings. The sushi is fresh and often more limited the later you to, so earlier is better. I have had mostly satisfied trips with the produce here, with few exceptions. I often get my tempura veggies here, and have often had good luck with the sweet onions and potatoes. The cut squash was a miss. If you're looking for a local Japanese grocery, check this place out. The location to me makes this my number one Japanese grocer.

One of my favorite tokyo centrals around the area!! Service: - the workers here are much more friendly in this specific store than others in my opinion - the cashier offered us ginger wasabi and soy sauce many times as we checked out - when I finished eating at the food court I was cleaning up and the worker told me to stop twice and to leave it for him to clean. I still cleaned after myself regardless but that was so nice of him! The food: - go after 7pm and the food items will be 20% off! Make sure it has the 20% off sticker or else the cashier can't add the discount! - fresh produce and snacks here are always changing, love that

My mom brought me here - I couldn't have imagined how big this store would be and all of the good stuff in here. Particularly all the fresh sushi, sashimi, tempura, orange chicken, etc. from the hot deli section. They have a good selection of mochi, bread, snacks, treats. Definitely worth a visit - and a huge parking lot in front.

I could have sworn I wrote a review of Tokyo central years ago! Oh well, better late than never. I LOVE THIS MARKET! If only we had one in Temecula--that's not going to happen, I know :( It's like stepping inside of a market in Japan! Inside is nicely organized with isles marked of what you find there. Their cash resisters use to have signs of the Yamanote green line train stops. Only one of these signs remains today. I've ridden that line so many times in the past. There is an area inside with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy their delicious prepared meals. There is outside patio seating too. There is so much to like here with so many Japanese/Asian staples--rice, noodles, Kim Chee, seasonings, meat & fish section, frozen section with Japanese frozen meals, hot prepared meals, a big refrigerated section of sushi and cold cooked meals ready to be reheated. The prepared meals and sushi are so, so good! The hand rolls are in the clever Japanese wrapping that keeps the nori separate from the rice until you are ready to eat it so it doesn't get soggy. I always get furikake potato chips and sweet mochi, and whatever else looks good when I'm shopping. I usually pick up a hand roll to hold me over during my commute back to Temecula. Its always fresh and so delicious! This last time I picked up a small spicy tuna hand roll for $2.69. I took one bite and wow, it was so yummy! Crispy nori, crunchy veggies, spicy tuna with the sushi rice. I had to take a picture and post it (haha!). Well, I'm semi-stocked up for now. So I have to make my supply last until I'm back in OC again!

It's Tokyo Central and we love Tokyo Central! (Our main Tokyo Central location that we shop frequently is the West Covina location.) I have been driving past this location for awhile now, but had never gotten the chance to stop by until recently. I was in the area and I needed a few items that only Tokyo Central had and it was perfect when I remembered that this location was "tucked" away and nearby. The entrance to this location is a bit odd, but is easily accessible. They share the same street at the In-N-Out. The parking lot is a bit on the smaller side so I do not know how full it can get, but I was thankful that there were still many open spots when I arrived. The bakery and bread are located to the right of the entrance, and the bento boxes are located further back to the right. I grabbed what I needed and some extra bento boxes and was on my way in less than half an hour. The store is easy to navigate. Anything and everything you need from a Japanese market is all conveniently located. The shelves are all fully stocked and there is something in every nook and cranny. Great customer service as always!

First time at this location and I found everything I needed. Parking is ample since they're located within a shopping mall but it probably does get crowded at peak times. We visited after we had dinner across the street. The sake was on sale, so I was thrilled! I bought four bottles! They have a decent selection. They also have a sake bar but it was closed so that's definitely on the to-do list for next time. This store is much newer than the the Little Tokyo location where I usually shop. I'll make it a point to stop by next time I'm close. I definitely want to do more exploring!

Once you walk inside, there are tons of Japanese goodies inside everywhere, which goes with the name of the store. Remember to get a shopping cart first, and if your toddler or a kid would like to roll one alone, get them a tiny cart as well. They have hot food inside and cold food as well. The parking lot has ample space, so no worrying about looking for a spot. They're currently having a contest where if you spot the mascot and take a picture of it once a week, you will get a reward. This will run for 4 weeks, and at the end, you'll get a prize every time you get it.

I just came back from Japan and entering Tokyo Central made me feel like I was back there! So many delicious ramen and sushi options . Lots of sushi grade fish plus delicious bakery options. I love that they have skin and hair care as well

I believe the store has gotten better, but you still have to watch out for the pre-packaged foods. I bought a tuna bowl and the fish just tasted bad. They shouldn't be selling old tuna like this. There is no way to tell if the fish is bad since it's covered by other pieces of fish. Also, the prices are still absurd. Fruits, canned juices vegetables are higher in price than other stores. There is no reason to charge $1.50 for a can of Mr. Brown coffee when both 99 Ranch and H-Mart sell it for $1.00. Same goes for tomatoes, green leaf vegetables etc.

I really loved this place. My boyfriend had been wanting to go here for a while so we stopped in to pick up lunch and dinner for later. They have so many different pre-made items it was hard to pick what we wanted. We ended up getting some udon, ramen, bentos and onigiri as well as some drinks and snacks. Some of the hot foods weren't out though since it was later in the day, I'm guessing they have everything out closer to lunch time. All the food was fresh and tasty. Next time I really want to come here to buy ingredients for Japanese recipes I can cook at home, rather than just getting pre-made meals. This place was actually really big and we didn't get to explore all of it and there were so many different fresh ingredients. Check out was quick and easy. I'm looking forward to my next visit already.

This tokyo central have the best sushi. It's a bit smaller than the one I go to in Costa Mesa. However, it's still has everything u need. The parking space is a bit small but I would say avoid thr weekend haha

If you're looking for sushi grade fish and a huge selection of everything to make your own sushi (e.g., rice, vinegars, sauces, nori, veggies, sake, etc ), or noodle bowls, this is the place to go! They also have a fantastic selection of already made sushi if you want to skip that sushi night out and do a sushi night in! Love the signs around the store explaining how to make your own sushi and much more.
