Friendly staff, but the place is dated, and you need to watch out for some low-quality, really weird guests. Most groups keep to their own rooms, so they’re fine. The problem is the odd solo traveler who’ll sit on the shared couch in the middle of the night making loud noises or even try to peek through the gaps in your curtain… CREEPY AF. I 100% do not recommend this place—it never feels safe, and your sleep will definitely get wrecked by these people

Location is good and the locker is big. There is bathroom/onsen provided for each gender. The only cons is that you're not allowed to leave or enter the building from 11pm-6am due to the building's regulation unless emergency.

For the price, it's actually pretty great. Wifi only works on the 18th floor though. But if you need a place to rest, wifi, charge your stuff, come here. There are also lovely men's and women's separated bathhouses, very warm water, perfect. Showers are also more western style and great. The place is super clean. Great city views. Incredible location! Staff are helpful. Downsides are not many foreigners/backpackers if you go to hostels to meet some friends. Mostly locals here, but they're nice. And lastly.... Ouuff the mattresses and pillows... They're about one dna strand away from being slabs of concrete but they do the job. Oh and you get your own locker and key, the lockers are massive, I was able to fit both my giant backpacks in there with lots of room to spare.

Overall this place is in a good location that's not far from Iidabashi Station. But its biggest flaw is its strict curfew from 11pm-6am. I am going to start off with the positives about this place: The dorms are really clean and the beds are comfortable. The other plus is that there is a communal bath which is great to have after a long day of travelling. You also get a really nice view of Tokyo since you are on the 18th floor of the building. The negatives: The curfew from 11pm to 6am did make my stay here a bit unpleasant. I understand that this was not a decision made by management of the hostel but the private owners of the building. It personally did disrupt some plans I had. While I acknowledge it is partially my fault for not reading ahead I did wish this hostel would clearly mark this curfew in advertisements and listings. I was only told about this curfew a few days after my booking via email. Overall as hostels go, this place is really clean and well maintained. I paid about 3500 yen to stay for one night so it was really good value. The staff at the desk are really nice and professional. They try their best to make your stay comfortable. The curfew I felt was a bit unreasonable. Good place to stay if you don't have plans past 11pm.

Delightful week at here, it was exceeded my expectations despite the affordable price. Masami and the team were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The hostel itself is clean and well-maintained. About luggage storage: available starting from 6am (access the building via underground train station entrance, not from the ground level) to 11pm. Check in: After 3pm Curfew: building was locked during 11pm until next day 6am for security reasons.

Honestly, this is the best place I have been too regarding 3 stars or lower hotels/hostels. Services in Japan are somewhat very different from the rest of the world. Kind staff, quiet place, respectful people. I live almost everything here. The room is spacious, the bathrooms are sparking clean and big, you’ll have great showers here. The toilets are also super clean, thanks to the staff and bidets are always available. The room lacks of table but you can always find one in a common place.

Backpacker review- Rooms smell like socks and pets, under maintained, can hear the sound of trains at night. The price is low but the value for money is lower. Also, the building is locked from 11PM till 6AM, so you can’t go out or in at night.

Great location right next to the train station and close to shopping. The bedrooms were reasonably clean however the bathrooms were filthy and stank like urine. The shared bath was feral and smelled really bad, and had hairs floating in it. I have concerns about the cleanliness of the bedding in the bedrooms as we were not required to return pillows or blankets for cleaning when we returned the sheets. The buffet breakfast was pretty decent though and the views were great.

I stayed here on my first visit to Tokyo about 13 years ago. I probably looked it up on Lonely Planet at the time. Had no idea what's in Iidabashi and didn't know where to food in the area, with my 3 other non-Japanese friends, we were totally lost in Tokyo. 2 years ago, I had a friend's niece visiting Tokyo and was asking for cheap recommendation. I searched for youth hostel for her and found this place. I took me a while to realise that this youth hostel was the one I stayed in yonks ago and that I actually now work only 5 mins from it!! I would go have lunch and run errands in Ramla (in the same building) and I had thought it looked familiar but it just didn't click until I googled Tokyo Central Youth Hostel! Now that I know Iidabashi and Kagurazaka like the back of my hand, I see how convenient this youth hostel is. It's not the cheapest of youth hostels but it's still only just under 4,000yen per night and it has all the facilities you'll need. When my friend's niece arrived, I followed her up here just to check it out. Nothing has changed, very 80's, with the grey carpet and beige walls. Simple common room area with colourful chairs where you can access free wifi. There are volunteers at the reception ready to help out with directions, maps and all sorts of tourist information. It's close to Budokan, the famous concert hall, near the Imperial Gardens and the lovely Kagurazaka. And how many youth hostels gives you an aweseom view of Tokyo? Not many are in central Tokyo and on the 18th floor. You might have to share a bunk bed with a stranger but you'll get a beautiful view like any 5 star hotels.
