The Perfect 7-Day Japan Itinerary (Updated 2025)

"I’m a sucker for Disney—Tokyo Disneyland has many classic rides like Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, and The Mad Tea Party, plus unique attractions such as Pooh’s Hunny Hunt and Journey to the Center of the Earth; full-day adult admission starts around 7,900 JPY and it’s best to book in advance." - Matthew Kepnes

What a great park. We personally liked this park more than Disney Sea but still had a great time. There was not as many people here and felt a lot calmer than the other one which is a great switch. It’s super clean, the staff were helpful, and the rides were all unique enough to be fun and enjoyable. The food was also great and had an easy time finding our way around the park. It does get very hot in August, so please be prepared for the heat. We recommend using the fast passes when you arrive. If you are a tourist, they are worth it if you know you won’t come back. But we love Disney! And this park was no exception!

Google
Great day out, couldn't see it all in a day really but saw enough and got on enough rides / saw attractions. Get the premium passes for as many things as you can, they were limited to three or four rides and some experiences. Worth it to get that little bit more from the day. Get your souvenirs on the way out to save carrying them, they are all at the big store as you exit. Also, dress up if you can, everyone else does, it looks great!

Google
Disneyland need no introduction. This is where the magic happens. We travelled there by train. The entrance to the park is 5-10 minutes walk away. Just before the entrance is a locker area where you can store your luggage. Unlike all the Disney parks that I have been to, this one is relatively inexpensive for food and drinks and gifts. The park is super clean. All the staff are very friendly, always smiling and waving. We visited on a Monday in September and the queues were not too bad. It averages between 15-30 wait for a ride. Disney is unbelievably organised. For parades and things if you have a premium ticket you get allocated standing space. How organised is that? Disneyland is fun for kids and adults alike. We are a family of adults and we had a great time. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Google
Excellent attraction for all ages and worth the ticket price! Even with thousands of people lining up, the entrance process is fast and efficient. There is lots to do for everyone, but be prepared to queue for everything. If you can afford it, get a priority pass, that way you will manage to fit in way more and skip the wait time that is sometimes up to 2 hours ! There are many fantastic things to buy, so make sure to bring extra money! I would say that realistically you need at least 2 full days for the visit if you want to do everything!

PACA C

Google
Tips: 1. Use the fast pass upon entering, which has a two-hour cooldown period. 2. Remember to purchase your ticket using the Disney app. 3. Consider bringing a mat to sit on while waiting for the parade. 4. The parade runs in the afternoon and is fun, with lively music, suitable for adults. The evening parade at 7:30 PM is suitable for families. 5. Japanese anime cosplay is amazing. However, according to the official website, please refrain from dressing in a way that is frightening or inappropriate for children, as you may be denied entry.

Visiting Disneyland was an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere is magical from the moment you walk in. The rides were exciting, the parades were full of energy, and meeting the Disney characters was such a special highlight. Everything was well organized, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. It truly felt like stepping into a different world where both kids and adults can enjoy every moment. A must-visit destination for anyone looking for fun and lasting memories

Google
The best Disneyland I’ve ever visited! The atmosphere is magical, the staff are super friendly, and everything feels thoughtfully designed. One thing that really stood out was the food, surprisingly affordable and genuinely tasty, which isn’t always the case at theme parks. And when it comes to the nighttime fireworks show, everyone sits down to watch which makes the whole experience feel calm and respectful, almost like a shared moment of wonder. It makes me having a perfect day here.

Google
Disneyland is one of those magical places that always seems to pull you in, no matter your age or how many times you’ve been before. On this visit to Japan, we knew we had to include a stop here and even though I had experienced other Disney parks, nothing really prepared me for just how busy Tokyo Disneyland gets. From the moment we arrived, the crowds were huge, and we expected to spend most of the day standing in lines. To our surprise, the day actually turned out really well. We managed to go on every ride we had planned, and even squeezed in a couple of repeat runs. Some of the newer rides were incredible, smooth, immersive, and truly next-level when it comes to theme park experiences. That’s what Disneyland does best—constantly refreshing their attractions while still keeping the old favourites alive. All the staff we interacted with were polite and helpful, and even with the sheer number of visitors, the park felt well managed. None of the major rides were closed, which was a huge bonus, and the parade at night was honestly one of the highlights, it’s worth staying for that alone. If I ever came again, I might choose a day with light rain to avoid some of the crowd, but overall, we had a fantastic time and I’d absolutely visit again. It’s a full day of fun, nostalgia, and magic.

Yelp
I just got back from Tokyo Disneyland and Sea a few days ago and they were both overall magical experiences. A lot of people online will recommend Tokyo Disney Sea over Land, but if you're able to do both parks, I'd recommend doing both! Also, if you're looking for that familiar "Disney Magic" then Disneyland is the way to go. It is really present at Tokyo Disneyland and it's NOT the same as in other parks. Some tips / insights: - Consider a weekday night pass ticket, especially if that's the time your schedule allows. This cheaper ticket, which is for the hours of 5-9 pm, is only offered at Tokyo Disneyland so take advantage of it! We were able to get on all the rides we wanted to plus more, for a total of 6 rides. - Key here for foreigners is to book DPA (Disney premiere access). These were still available for both Beauty and the Beast and Baymax rides when we entered the park and by night's end. They made the wait virtually non existent. However, availability varies by the day. Even if we didn't have night tickets we very likely would've booked DPAs because wait times for BATB, for example, can be over two hours. - Beauty and the Beast, Baymax, and Pooh's Hunny Hunt are themselves enough to make the Disneyland trip worth it. These are unique to Tokyo's Disneyland. If you're only able to go on one ride, Beauty and the Beast for sure. There's nothing like it and it's a real highlight across ANY park, Disney or otherwise in the world. Stirs up your emotions too, haha. - Keep your eye out for popcorn buckets as they're super cool and intricate there (e.g. light up, moving pieces, lots of detail). Some of the popcorn stands close early. There's one popcorn shop that sells all the popcorn buckets in one place but the drawback is you're limited on a few flavors. However, this option turned out to be the best for us as finding the right buckets around the park was harder than expected! - It can get cold at night especially since the parks are surrounded by water. The stores sell cute hats and mittens, and guests love matching in them.

Yelp
When I went to Japan in 2019, I skipped Tokyo Disneyland because I didn't feel that they had enough that differentiated it from other US Disney parks. I can't say that the same is true in 2025. With their new trackless Beauty and the Beast ride, their Monsters Inc Hide and Seek ride, their Baymax ride, and their Winnie the Pooh ride, they have world-class Disney attractions that are years ahead of the US resorts. While the waits for these attractions can be greater than 90 minutes, I highly recommend that you do your advanced research regarding how you can invest in vacation packages and priority passes to significantly reduce your wait times. Aside from this, the ambiance of the parks and the hospitality of the Japanese cast members are second to none in Disney Parks around the world. This is one of the best Disney parks in the world and it will be years before we can have some of their attractions in the US. If you are a Disney fan and you have the opportunity to check out this park, then you really should. If you can get a vacation package that includes hotels, park admissions, and priority passes, then you absolutely must take advantage of this as well as it significantly improves the experience.

Yelp
1.3.2025 **A Magical Experience at Tokyo Disneyland** Our visit to Tokyo Disneyland was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped into the park, we were greeted with the enchanting atmosphere and meticulous attention to detail that Disney is known for. The park is beautifully maintained, with every corner offering something delightful to see or experience. The staff at Tokyo Disneyland were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ensuring that we had the best possible experience. Despite the large crowds, the lines were managed efficiently, and the park never felt overwhelmingly crowded. We also enjoyed the wide selection of food available. From delicious Japanese snacks to classic Disney treats, there was a great variety to choose from. We particularly loved the popcorn in different flavors and the unique themed dining experiences. It's a must-visit destination for Disney fans and anyone looking to experience the joy and wonder of a Disney park.

Yelp
Probably the best amusement park food I've ever had. Doesn't matter what your order or where you order it from, everything is fresh, perfectly proportioned and tasty. The rides are great too. The Beauty and the Beast ride is a must.

Yelp
Tokyo Disneyland (TD), has always been a place I wanted to visit after hearing so many good things about it. It's a bit different than Disneyland in Anaheim California, but it still has all the pomp and circumstance that one would expect when visiting a Disneyland theme park. The long lines and the many Disney characters roaming the park and entertaining guests is something I've grown accustomed to seeing and Tokyo Disneyland is no different. Although, I did find many similarities between both parks, TD's configuration seemed more of a circular design as opposed to Anaheim's, which consist of more turns and curves. With that said, both theme parks offer what one might expect from a Disneyland experience. Unfortunately, "Space Mountain" and "It's a small world" weren't operational during my visit. Although, it did rain at times, it never dampen the spirits, nor the enthusiasm of the hard-core Disneyland visitors. I would definitely recommend visiting should you be in Tokyo.

Yelp
Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea are the best Disney themed parks in the world! The one-of-a-kind rides, attention to details, and food offerings are amazing and should be a bucket list experience for anyone who loves the "Mouse". Pro tip- the Disney Premiere Access passes (DPA) are worth every penny to minimize wait time for rides.

Yelp
Great park that is probably 1/3 the cost of the USA Disney parks. Here's how you do Disneyland as of October 2024. Have a basic understanding of the app before arriving. Arrive at 730 or earlier at the latest. You will still have hundreds of people ahead of you, but at least it won't be thousands. The park regularly opens early (830 when I visited) so plan to be late if you arrive at 900. There are three kinds of passes: 40th Anniversary Pass (DPA) which costs money, Priority Passes (PP) which are free, and Standby Passes (SP) which are free. Beauty and the Beast must be your priority, but unless you buy a DPA, expect to wait around two hours. The moment your ticket is scanned at the park entrance, start walking to any ride besides Beauty and at the same time buy a DPA for Beauty and a PP for Ppoh Honey Hunt. Throughout the day until lunch keep refreshing the app to claim more passes for rides, especially the free PP ones. Pretty much everyone seemed to go to Beauty or Buzz right as they entered making those lines very long to start (over 2 hours), but only Beauty thinned out a bit - Buzz actually got longer. The best time to get in line for a ride is during lunch hours, dinner hours, or the parades. Fun fact, you can even watch the digital night parade from the Haunted Mansion line. You can order meals to be picked up within ten minute windows at many restaurants. Use that to skip their lines. My most overrated rides (that I experienced) were Buzz and Monsters Inc. Best were Haunted Mansion, Pooh, and Beauty (my fav). Skip the curry popcorn, do eat the caramel popcorn. The alien mochi are excellent and can be found on the permanent menu in Ray's in Tomorrowland.

Yelp
Lines are long before the park opens. Once they start letting people in, it does move quickly. If you are planning on using the priority passes , once scanned in you need to be on your phone constantly for the available times. Everything was worth it. We love Disney so this was a must for us.

Yelp
2 consecutive Novembers of visiting Tokyo Disney and I have to say I'm still impressed by this park's facilities, operations, and upholding and even raising the bar for how a Disney park should be operated. The magical spirit of Disney is alive and well here and although this park is not the largest of their global properties, everything is nice and tidy for you to explore. There is so much help if you need finding your way around the park. Every staff member I interacted with was bubbling with energy and warmth. None of the attractions I visited were disabled or even in maintenance mode. Overall, I may not be back anytime soon but I will summarize by saying, if you love the Disney spirit, you owe it to yourself to make it to Tokyo Disney if you're able to.

Yelp
We had a great day at Tokyo Disneyland. The staff were friendly, the prices were reasonable, and the lines were much more manageable compared to Disney parks in the U.S. Kids under 4 are free, which is a great perk. We got a day pass and managed to enjoy most of the rides and attractions. One suggestion would be to make the park more accommodating for international visitors. For instance, many attractions, like the Stitch Adventure, were entirely in Japanese, which made it difficult for us to fully enjoy the experience. We had to leave midway due to the lack of English support. We also faced some challenges with a restaurant where we struggled to resolve an incorrect charge due to language barriers. Despite these issues, the overall experience was enjoyable and worth the visit.

Yelp
Main Points: 1. The crowd is HECTIC 2. Go in with the mindset that you might not be able to get everything done on your list 3. Take advantage of the affordable merch 4. Use the app religiously lol. When you're waiting in lines, keep refreshing! 5. Bring your own baby/toddler stroller. Their rentals are affordable but doesn't seem comfortable 6. If you're a foodie like me, try every food you can! 7. Enjoy and have fun! It can be stressful but it's totally worth it!

Yelp
Another Disneyland off my list. A lot of people but wait times here are not as bad like the one in LA. A lot cheaper here too. Food here was amazing. Soooo many different flavors of popcorn and churros.

Yelp
Great experience. We came around 8:15am and go t in through the gates at 9am. We only stayed until 3pm as it was hot and lines were long. It took a while to get in and was a hard time without an umbrella as there was no shade. We witnessed a lady faint but the Disney response team was instant and they got her a wheelchair, water and umbrella within 2min. The rides were nice as some are not available in the USA anymore. For $50 a person, would definitely come back and do the same type of thing, just with an umbrella this time.

Yelp
Today is Educational outing in Tokyo Disneyland. It's last event of 3rd year high school student. I've never been here before. So I came here for the first time in my life. In Tokyo Disneyland, you always have to line up to enter a restaurant or ride a vehicle. Moreover, Tokyo in February is extremely cold. I will probably never go to here again on my private time. Sorry for Tokyo Disneyland.

Yelp
The happiest place in my heart... My angel bestie would be asking why if I didn't give this place a visit and finally did so on my very last day as getting here is a challenge with a lot of walking if you're taking the train. Maihama Station takes you directly there though getting in is another thing as the long snaking line just to get through the bag check was worse than getting on the rides. Do you get there early so that you don't wait to get in or get there later so that there isn't a wait but with shorter park time visit...sigh the struggle is real. Due to the yen conversion it was a deal that's hard to resist and yes it was worth it but would plan it better the next time around. As soon as we got in I skipped the ears and went straight for the hot dog at the Refreshment Corner which was a brilliant move as we were in and out in minutes to enjoy and we moved further to shop around. My favorite ride has always been Small World which never disappoint as it was just a 10 minute wait and was so much fun. I did find that cute Mickey Popcorn Tongs and yes had to get it and 40th Anniversary Ears which was cute and sparkly, along with Pooh bear honey pot popcorn bucket, ate Mickey Pizza, and Chinese Bun all was yummy and super cute it was definitely exhausting but a memorable experience. どうもありがとうございます!

Yelp
Be sure to load the Tokyo Disneyland App before you go! Everything is digital: maps, Premier Access, etc . You need to scan your ticket on the App. Heard that the Beauty & Beast ride is Amazing since it is not in any other park! Best bet is to buy Premier Access! I did it immediately I entered the park and had so many ride times! Chose the 9:55 am time since I didn't know where the ride was! I think I got an early time because I was a Single rider but there was NO Single rider line!!!??? There is very little Signage, hard to read digital map and cast members speak very little English! The ride was Amazing but all in Japanese so fortunately I have seen movie many times! Decided not to ride any other rides but was on the hunt for the infamous Popcorn Buckets with delicious flavor popcorn! Luckily, there were 2 Popcorn Buckets next to the Beauty & Beast ride: see photo of Beauty & Beast bucket lights up. And Small World has a pop up. If you don't like the popcorn offered, you can get a ticket to redeem for another flavor! Instead of canvassing the park, you can go to The Big POP in Tomorrowland to check out the collection that you can buy all in 1 place. Because of that option, expect a line but it goes pretty fast, so be patient! It's worth it! I was disappointed that there's not too much Halloween decorations! Disneyland and California Adventure is better! But with the US dollar so strong makes the Tokyo one so affordable! So Check it out!!!

Yelp
Disneyland in Japan has a special place in my heart because the population holds Minnie & Mickey on a pedestal as if they are royalty. The park is maintained in pristine condition with not litter to be found and everyone is truly delighted to be in attendance at all times. One of the astonishing attractions in their version of the Magic Kingdom is Cinderella's Castle, which state-of-art when it comes to lights, lasers, sound and it's ability to change colors and project images to the beat of the music which is heard throughout the park. Not to mention the huge size of the castle which dwarfs the California Disneyland castle in comparison. Highly recommend, should you visit the Tokyo area.

Yelp
Now, who doesn't like Disney? I guess there are some but for me, well I always have been a huge Disney fan and always will be. I have visited Tokyo Disney twice in the past few years and thoroughly love this amusement park as it is smaller than the original Anaheim location but has most of the top rides as expected. The prices are very reasonable from the entrance fee to the food and snacks and even the souvenirs especially compared to the original location. I do love all the theme food and some are just so cute that you don't want to eat them. The lines for the food do get long so you'll have to plan accordingly. There are some vending machines that sell drinks at normal prices and how cool is that? Hey Anaheim take some notes and follow suit. Some fans really get into the spirit and dress up in coordinated costumes and it's cool to see. I'd love to have another visit in the future and will plan for it.

Yelp
My frame of reference is only US Disneyland and Disneyworld-- so naturally, Tokyo Disney exceeded my expectations in every way LOL. This is a must for Disney lovers, the experience is magical in its own unique essence. We visited in winter during the 40th anniversary celebration, which meant special parade floats, merch, and decor, AND Christmas flair (!!!!). Magical overload. So many intricate details and experiences thoughtfully placed throughout the park-- visually stunning! The premises are SO clean (if you've been to the US ones... IFYKYK) and attractions are maintained well. Rides have a very long wait (30-120 mins!!), but that's to be expected ^^; We were able to get Standby Pass for most rides, and used the time to explore elsewhere. Between the shows and shops, there's nearly endless things to do. Food options were delicious and catered to a variety of cuisines. The visual presentation was also top notch. My one wish is that their outdoor seating had heaters as it gets severely cold in the winter and indoor seating fills quickly. I'd also highly recommend making reservations on the app ahead of time if you desire specific restaurants. NOTE: Most rides have bits and pieces translated into English and some other languages (Chinese, Korean, etc.), but are largely in Japanese. For example, the Haunted Mansion prologue is entirely in Japanese (as expected, being in Japan!). Many of the staff only speak Japanese, but carry translators with them. Language barrier notwithstanding, all staff members went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time :-)

Yelp
Tokyo Disneyland ruined Anaheim DL for me. Park entry - more efficient Park tickets - much cheaper Castle - larger, prettier, better Merch - higher quality, cheaper Food - better overall Popcorn - better Popcorn buckets - better Cast Members - friendlier. Always waving Cleanliness - cleaner Beauty and the Beast ride Pooh's ride Monorail - better functionality Most of the classic rides are still here - Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain

Yelp
After you go to Tokyo Disney, you just don't want to return to the ones in the states! Nobody hits Disney the same way as Tokyo. I was AMAZED at how top notch both parks were. The shows are like broadway shows. The food is incredibly cute and inventive to make everything Disney themed. The merch is inexpensive. The POPCORN BUCKETS are so smart, cute, functional, and absolutely incredible...not to mention the various unique flavors and the Mickey hand shaped popcorn TONGS. The parades are amazing. Beauty and the beast was phenomenal. Sad I missed fantasy springs, but still unforgettable experience at Disney Tokyo.

Yelp
I realized I haven't done a review for any Disney park and I been to many and at this point my 3rd Disneyland! Being in Tokyo you have to come here right?? I kept hearing how empty this place was and how easy to get on rides Well let me tell you that was not the case when I went and the lines were all long Hahaa I mean not sure why it was so packed but it felt like being back in Anaheim that's for sure The park is clean and open I will say that in terms of land it feels more open spaced out It feels like old school Disneyland with all the original "lands" leaving things like Star Wars to their other park there Pirates ride is still un-"metoo'ed" and has all the things like auction of wenches and men chasing women Their haunted mansion was not in same location but in fantasyland and had a Florida look with anaheim feel as well which the same goes for it's a small world... looks like Anaheim outside but once you enter it looks like Florida too! Their parades are heavy with Asian and Pacific Islander themes (ie... Moana and up etc etc) We all had a great time though as you can't go wrong with Disney
google avatar

Yelp
So much better than Disneyland in Southern California! Even thoughDisney has no ownership of Tokyo Disney, instead the company that owns Tokyo Disney licenses and pays royalty fees to Disney. This is probably why the rides are outdated and old. But still the park is split into 2 parks: DisneySea and Disneyland. Ticket prices are about $60 each. The park itself is small but very clean and maintained well. The lines are orderly and there isn't a free fall like other amusement parks. They are lacking in restaurant options with mainly just snacks around the park. I had to dock a star because of this. Best ride in order were Pooh's Hunny Hunt, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain. Monster's Inc was closed Did not get to go on Beauty and the Beast , the wait was over 2 hours. Beware that the crowds get more crowded since people buy the evening passes instead of the 1 day passes. This was a fun experience even though it kind of is like a fake Disneyland.
google avatar

Yelp
Visited from California last October. First off, comparing prices to the states--you will be mind blown on how affordable this place is. For the price of a ticket in the states, you can pay for 2 parks and front of the line passes. Crazy right? If that doesn't sell you, I don't know what will. If you do go, my favorite rides were the bay max, Winnie the Pooh, and beauty and the beast. If here, you must go at least on the beauty and the beast ride. Even if I didn't understand the language, you can feel the emotion. Plenty of food to try, and plenty of different popcorns everywhere. So much cute stuff to buy, more so here than disneysea. Staff everywhere were all so polite. If you have time while visiting Japan, definitely visit this place out.

Yelp
I was super happy to finally visited Tokyo Disneyland! It has been on my bucket list for so long! Just like other Disney parks, huge crowds and long lines. The park opened at 9am. My sisters and I got there around 8:30am and there was a huge crowd waiting to get in. Once the park opened, the lines went pretty fast. Bags checked at the entrance. Guests were offered 40th Anniversary Priority Pass. It is free and first come first serve. The Priority Pass allows guests to select eligible experiences and enter the venue at a specified time, and enjoy their selected experience with a reduced wait time. For the Premier Access, it is available for a fee, will allow guests to select designated times to be admitted to and enjoy certain experiences. Each attraction is a different fee. These passes are offered on the app. Be sure to download the app beforehand. One of the most popular rides here is the Beauty and the Beast ride. If you do not want to wait long for this ride, be sure to run to this ride once the park opens. Or, you can pay for a fee to reduce the wait with Premier Access. We paid for this ride. It was 2000 yen per access. To me, I do not think it was worth it that extra fee. I thought this ride was a bit overhyped. It was a cool ride but I did not like the fact that this is a turning ride. I would not recommend to people with vertigo or migraines. There were parts where the ride will not turn but that was rare. The part where the beast transforms back into human was really cool. Also the end of where Belle and Beast were dancing in the ballroom, it was really nice. It was an emotional scene for me. Happy tears of course! Who doesn't want happy endings ;) We also paid for the Baymax ride, not worth that as well. It was fun but i would rather just wait 1 hour for it than pay extra lol There are rides here that are the same as the ones in the States. It sucked though as some attractions were closed while we were there. This park is smaller than the ones in the States. The park here was really clean. Well, overall Japan is a clean country! The staffs around the parks were mostly very nice and welcoming. Japanese culture is definitely different from the States. Japanese loves to wave hands and bow. Super friendly! Because of the weather, the fireworks show was cancelled. I was a bit disappointed. Overall, I had a good time but I personally think the parks at the States are better. Also a bit disappointed that I only encountered a couple Disney characters. The ones on the parade floats didn't count. Phone reception at the parks was pretty bad for us. Hopefully will be better for you :)

Yelp
I love Disneyland , Disney World, and Tokyo Disneyland was really magical. The ques to get into the park were quite long. The trains from Shinjuku were also pretty crowded. After getting off the trains we got on the Disneyland train to get into the park. It was super cute. There's no professional photographers that I ever saw like the other locations. This is not owned by the two Disneyland and Disney World in the USA. I guess I thought it would more people from other countries. It appears that it was mostly Japanese people. Seems like the crowds were more interested in the parades instead of the rides which was good since there were 5 broken rides when we were there. It was quite disappointing. We did get to ride the Beauty and the Beast ride and it was amazing. We ate at the Crystal Palace buffet and it was definitely worth it for people that don't have allergies. I was only able to eat a few items from the buffet. Had a great time but wished the rides were working.

I finally made my way to Tokyo Disneyland! Technically, I was there late last year and I'm finally getting around to writing a review. We stayed at a hotel not far away and bought a 2 day Monorail pass which was a 5 min walk from our hotel and this was super convenient and highly recommended you take the Monorail. As I walked up to the entrance, I had a sense of deja vu as the feel, sounds and look all seemed familiar with their other parks and locations but of course all in Japanese. The enthusiasm from their guests were also the same as I've felt before. Call it the Disney Magic. If there is one attraction you visit, you must go to the Beauty & The Beast ride. It's amazing. As for the food, it was similar but again customized in ever small ways. I loved their Churro which I never have said before. Park staff were all friendly and just plain Happy. This is truly one of the happiest places on earth! I can't wait to come back soon.

Yelp
Being a Magic Key passholder at Disneyland in California, I knew going to Tokyo Disneyland that I wouldn't need to spend too much time on rides I already know and love. Instead I concentrated my time on rides that aren't available in my neck of the woods. We arrived to the park at noon because we were had spent the morning in Tokyo exchanging JR vouchers and reacclimating to the new timezone. We also had to drop off our luggage at our hotel before heading to the parks. We had our Disney park tickets prepurchased on Klook so we were set to go. We jumped on the shuttle from our hotel and was dropped off at the train station and made our way to the park from Maihama. We purchased the Premier Access Pass for the Beauty and the Beast Ride as soon as we entered the gates via the Tokyo Disneyland app, which to me is the BEST ride in this park, hands down. It's fully immersive and just wonderful in the storytelling to the animatronics but in Japanese. If you're a fan of Beauty and the Beast, this is the ride to end all rides. Not only did Tokyo Disneyland recreate Belle's French village, they constructed the Beast's castle for the ride. The mother-effing castle is is here in the park in addition to Cinderella's castle. You walk through the beginning of the tale and then you enter a tea cup and ride a trackless ride around the castle, as a guest. If you've been on Rise of the Resistance, then you know what fully immersive means when it comes to a ride. We saw full grown adults with tears coming off of this ride. It's that good. While Tokyo Disneyland feels smaller somehow, it has massive amounts of land so everything is spaced out. Pick and choose your rides. We went on Space Mountain, Monster's Inc, Star Tours, Beauty and the Beast, It's a Small World, Pooh's Hunny Hunt, Cinderella's Fairytale Castle walk-through, Big Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain (the only one left since DL and WDW is retheming theirs). To be able to visit another Disney park is literally a dream come true and the admission cost is way more cost-effective in Japan than in the US. That's currently a FACT. We spent about $60ish USD per person per park in Japan, so do the math. Of course, you have to pay for airfare, so it might be a wash. The Castmembers at Tokyo Disneyland are so animated and seem genuinely happy to be interacting with guests. We had a wonderful time even in rainy humidity.

Yelp
Check this one off the bucket list...this is a must! It seems like no-matter where Disney is they never forget how to treat you right!

Yelp
Definitely on par with Disneyland in California and Disneyworld in Florida, and like those, Tokyo Disneyland has its own charms as well. As many recommend, we tried to get to the park at least an hour before the scheduled opening time in case the gates were opened early. You will almost certainly be stuck in the sun for a bit, so bring whatever sun protection you prefer! Before the 9 a.m. opening time the day we went, they started letting the "Happy 15" folks in around 8:05, and the rest of the guests around 8:20. They really keep the lines moving! My favorite ride was Pooh's Hunny Hunt, and Tokyo has my favorite version of It's a Small World. The trackless "hunny pot" was so neat lol! The queues for both are also nice, which always helps get through the wait times. Food here is also generally great. I would definitely recommend omelets from Grandma Sara's Kitchen (Critter Country), dessert at the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall (Fantasyland), tiramisu ice cream sandwiches from any ice cream cart, alien mochi buns (Tomorrowland), and whatever flavor of churro tickles your fancy. Curry from Hungry Bear Restaurant is also good.

Yelp
**June 2023: Tuesday Visit** These might be fighting words but... CA Disneyland is trash compared to Tokyo Disneyland. Everything from the food, merch, popcorn buckets, and rides are infinitely better here than CA Disneyland. Admission ticket is half of what CA Disney charges, though I will admit it is a lot harder to get. I stayed at a resort and guest service helped me buy tickets. I did notice some differences from this park than the States. 1) Guests will wait at least an hour or possible two at the entrance to get in. 2) If you have Happy Entry which gives you an extra 15 minutes head start in the park and you get to basically cut in front of all the general guests 3) People will sit to watch the parade 4) The bathrooms here are super clean and have bidets 5) Their Main Street is covered 6) The area in front of Cinderella's castle is HUGE (maybe twice or three times as big as the CA one) 7) Popcorn is a really big deal here and there are different flavors at every cart. I honestly was thinking about skipping this park, thinking that it was too similiar to the CA Disneyland. Boy was I wrong and I'm so glad that I spent a day here. I cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
Just wanted to say, I had the best birthday ever!! Tokyo Disneyland was truly magical. As a foodie, there were endless options for food and snacks. I was in Disney, heaven!!! The park was so clean and not overly crowded, which made it super enjoyable. The lines were long, but they moved pretty fast and the snacks.... did I mention the snacks lol The parade was super cute, and it brought back those nostalgic moments of being a kid again. I must say I saw more adults at the park than kids, especially couples and best friends with matching outfits and Mickey ears, which had me smiling from ear to ear. It was one of my favorite birthdays! Ig:@Thefunfluencer

Yelp
Avoid this place like the plague unless U enjoy queuing 2 to 3 hours for one ride even during weekdays... The app is buggy, U cannot use the priority pass even if purchased, U need to come to the park at 7am to have a chance to get the standby pass else U can refresh the app for hours and still get nothing. It may have been good, but now, colonoscopy sounds like a better choice than coming here. The cash grabbing Disney needs to review the way they implement the standby pass etc. As of now,.it seems they are only interested in selling tickets and add ons without considering user experience. Happiest place on earth? Maybe in the past which I really enjoyed each trip. Now? It is simply unacceptable for queues to reach 200 mins on a weekday. Hell on earth is more like it.

Yelp
by far the best disneyland i've ever been to! i used Klook to purchase tickets bc it was slightly cheaper to do so than to book on the actual disney page. it's super easy and convenient as well! i really enjoyed how efficient disneyland tokyo is with their lines. it wasn't crowded on a wednesday and we got there 20 minutes before opening. there's a train station that leads straight to disneyland (Maihama) as well. the staff are all so friendly and constantly smiling. i found that disneyland tokyo cares a lot about experience and really does a great job in creating an amazing experience vs the one in LA. would definitely come again! great vibes, great food, and really exceeds my expectations.

Yelp
Disney in Tokyo! It's exactly what you would expect just with nicer people. Not super large, but they do have the new Beauty and the Beast ride which is epic. A must for Disney fans

Yelp
What is there to say about Disney theme parks that hasn't already been said? It's the happiest place on earth. I had a pleasure of visiting Japan and of course we made our way to Disney. As someone who speaks a hilariously small amount of Japanese, I was surprised how little I needed to speak while I was there. Disney has a lot of English speaking cast members. They also have translating devices so communication is always there. The rides are always fun and the food is always good. Each park I've been to has its own flare to what they do and how they do it. We rented a motorized scooter for one of our members. They were very organized and did a little driving test with us to make sure everyone was safe. It's a little on the slow side but that just goes to show how important safety is. I will be back one day!

Yelp
Tokyo Disneyland is the perfect place for all ages!! We visited on a Tuesday morning and got there around an hour before opening and was shocked that there were already people waiting to get in and we thought we were early haha! Please do arrive before opening if you wish to beat the crowds. Everyone tends to try to visit their favorite rides first for shorter wait times when the park just opens which is super smart and highly recommended! We opted to go on the beauty and the beast ride first and waited for about 45 mins which is great considering how popular the ride is. The food at Tokyo Disneyland is simply superior and so on theme. We highly recommend trying the foods that are specific to Tokyo Disneyland! Some of our favorites were the alien mochi and baymax curry! Prices are so affordable compared to other Disneys!! There are also many shops where you can buy super adorable merchandise, but I'd recommend buying them towards the end once you've had a chance to go on rides as you'll have to bring them with you. The one thing we were a bit sad about was the fact that they canceled the fireworks show with little notice and explanation. We hope to come back to watch the show one day! But overall, we adored visiting Tokyo Disneyland and can't wait to be back!!

Yelp
Yelp Review 2023 #57: Disneyland is always a good time. What sets Tokyo Disneyland apart is his organized things are even things are a mess - it doesn't make sense right now but it will. Back in the day, you can buy tickets at the park. But now, you have to buy tickets online for a specific date up to two months in advance. So, plan your visit carefully because there's no flexibility at this time. And you have to use a computer to buy tickets instead of using your phone. My friend and I aren't really big on rides. We just go to Disneyland for certain rides so getting a FastPass back then was pointless - they don't have offer FastPass anymore after COVID. A lot has changed since reopening after COVID: you have to wear a mask at the park, food options have been reduced, capacity has also been reduced, and entertainment is also limited. There are attractions similar to the ones in Anaheim and California Adventure (Star Tours, Dumbo, It's a Small World, Snow White, Pinocchio, Jungle Cruise, Toy Story, Cars, etc), and some that are uniquely Tokyo Disneyland's. If you're a fan of Beauty & the Beast, Lilo & Stitch, and Baymax - come to Tokyo! Japanese people fall in line to take pictures in popular photo op spots such as in front of Mickey and Walt with the castle in the background - before and after COVID. There are restaurants and souvenir shops all over the park. Before COVID, it's super crowded. But now, not so much. The souvenirs all have a unique Japanese touch to them. I like their merchandise here better actually. Bring a second luggage for all the souvenirs!!! Ticket prices are cheaper compared to Disneyland - Anaheim (almost half the price of a ticket in Anaheim). I'll definitely keep coming back here and Disney Sea!

Yelp
12-25-2022 Christmas Day in Tokyo Disney, a much different vibe from California or Paris Disneys. We spent 2 hours in line for the Beauty and The Beast ride. Once you get in you're actually spinning with 5 other tea cups or should I say soup bowls going from one room to another. The cool thing is during your wait you come closer to the Beast's castle. The area is transformed to the village Belle lived in. Reminded me of an un-snowy Harry Potter's section at Universal Studios. The Peter Pan ride was a 50 minute wait. They take a ten minute break to wipe down the railings and rides. We ate at the Queen of Hearts for lunch, a restaurant taking off from Alice In Wonderland. The interior is colorful and cheery. We saw their Electrical parade at nite and parts of two parades during the day. The names of the lands are a little different from the Anaheim park. Even the entrance is different. Due to the cold weather in December park goers were bundled up and were wearing all kind of headbands or what seems to be the fad of large character head coverings.

Yelp
Whenever we travel to Tokyo, a must-stop is Tokyo Disney. The kids in us have never left, as we always enjoy a full day of Disneyland atmosphere of rides, happy tunes, and dancing Disney characters! Opened on 4/15/1983, Tokyo Disney was the first Disney park to be built outside the US. It consists of Disneyland that is modeled after the Disneyland in CA and the Magic Kingdom in FL; and Disney Sea that opened in 2001. We have yet to experience Disney Sea, as our time has always been limited, so we keep enjoying Disneyland. Tokyo Disneyland is a 115-acre theme park in Urayasu in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo. Its parking lot is one of the smallest of all the Disney parks in the world due to the availability of public transportation in Japan. Just get off at the JR Maihama Station and walk to the front gates in five minutes, or get off at the Tokyo Disneyland Station if you're taking the Disney Resort Monorail. Tokyo Disneyland consists of seven distinct areas: World Bazaar. Located at the Main entrance, it's a covered shopping arcade lined with shops and restaurants. It's designed like an early 20th century American Town. Tomorrowland. The theme is outer space and future technologies. Rides include: Space Mountain, Star Tours, Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters, and Monsters Inc. Ride and Go Seek. The Astro Blasters is popular with the teens at night, with dance music glaring, and teens in these cars having a blast while those watching are dancing. The interactive Monsters Inc. ride is unique to Tokyo, as you're riding and shining your flashlight on monsters that react in different ways. We get the cute, delicious green alien mochi of custard, chocolate, and strawberry flavors (from Toy Story) at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. Toontown. See Disney characters that live, work and play. Young children can meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck's boat, Chip & Dale's Tree House, and ride the kid-sized roller coaster. Fantastyland. This area is based on the classic animated film by Disney and is home of Cinderella's Castle at the center of the park. A new popular ride of Beauty & the Beast is here with ultra long lines circling around the park. Other rides include: Peter Pan's Flight, Snow White's Adventures, It's a Small World, and Tokyo's unique trackless Pooh's Honey Hunt ride with actual honey scents. Critter Country. This is home to Br'er Rabbit, Br'er Fox, Br'er Bear, and other characters from "Song of the South." You'll find the popular Splash Mountain ride here, as well as canoe tours. Westernland. The theme is the western frontier along the Rivers of America. You'll find Big Thunder Mountain ride, Tom Sawyer Island, Country Bear Theater, and Mark Twain Riverboat. We tend to eat lunch at the Hungry Bear Restaurant where delicious Japanese curry and pork katsu with melon soda can be ordered via cafeteria style. Adventureland. This covers the two areas of New Orleans and jungle theme. Rides include: Jungle Cruise, Swiss Family Tree House, Western River Railroad, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Having spent a full day at Tokyo Disney, we were able to go on all the rides that we had wanted to. Lines were not as long as they have been in the past, due to the limiting of people in the park (the exception was the new Beauty and the Beast ride). We saw a bit of the colorful day parade but did not stay for the evening electric light parade or fireworks. In mid-Nov., Tokyo Disney is completely in Christmas décor, with a huge lighted Christmas tree in the World Bazaar open space, and superfluous holiday lighted garlands and Santas throughout the theme park. Tokyo Disney is known for their unique popcorn flavors and collectible popcorn buckets that you can purchase at various popcorn wagons situated throughout the park. The flavors and buckets are constantly changing, so expect to find a certain flavor or bucket at a certain location. Popcorn flavors include: caramel, soy sauce & butter, milk choc, curry, salt, honey, strawberry milk, cookies & cream, caramel & cheese, and others. Refillable plastic popcorn buckets (popcorn at a discounted price) include: small world, zootopia, Chip & Dale, Minnie Mouse heart, Cinderella Castle, Pooh's Honey Hunt, Toy Story, and the soft rectangular Mickey Mouse ears, which we got. In the past, they've had the popular Dumbo and Mickey Mouse ears; however, they were odd-shaped and difficult to pack in luggage. Admission tickets are now required to be purchased online, as a way for management to control the number of people entering the park. This is a result of Covid, as you can no longer purchase tickets at the gate or at the Disney Store in Shibuya. Yes, the happiest place on earth, no matter if it's in CA or Tokyo! And in Tokyo, Mickey and family never changes. We love Tokyo Disney!

Yelp
It would be a 5 rating w/o the crowds. We last visited here 5 years ago. It was crowded then and seemed even more crowded this time! Decided to come here last minute after viewing the crowd calendar predictor. It was forecasted level 3/8 with one being least and 8 the most crowded. It was still Uber crowded, despite it being NY eve with everyone visiting temples. We rode 5 rides only, which included a fast pass for one ride. Most rides were 60 to 90 min wait times except pirates of the carribean which was 15 min long. It's a small world was suspended. We did not take pics with characters, dine in at restaurants or watch any shows. We did eat take out food and watched 10 minutes of the parade. And only could manage 5 rides? Smh. To top it off, after waiting an hour in the bitter cold, at 830 when the fireworks were scheduled, they announced, sorry no fireworks tonight. Grr....would love to come again if the lines weren't an issue

Yelp
The only other Disneyland I can compare this too due to personal experience is the one in Anaheim, and I have to say I was AMAZED by this park. 110% better than the one in California (sorry, I hate to say it). Tokyo Disney and DisneySea are incredible. The cast members are all very polite, kind and inviting, and yes a lot of them speak a bit of English! The park is very similarly set up to the Disneyland in California, but food and rides just are on another level. Pooh's Hunny Hunt and Beauty and the Beast are trackless rides - basically the most amazing theme park, non-rollercoaster rides I've ever been on in my entire life. Meals, snacks, souvenirs, etc. all pretty inexpensive and I was shocked! I visited December 2021 and again just this past October and both trips were amazing. December was obviously pretty cold, so bundle up. October was actually pretty nice for weather even though it was a bit cloudy. I had a long sleeve on under a hoodie with some jeans and it was a comfy day! TikToks from my trip! Yelp
What's there to not like about Tokyo Disneyland although the queue line to get in initially (1.5 hour wait after arriving 1 hr early) was unbearably hot in the late August sun and humidity. Once we passed security it didn't take long at all to enter. First off I do like the pre paid admission and the parks limiting the number of people in per day. The park didn't feel overly crowded and the lines on most rides were manageable outside the most popular rides. The food was very good and we had reservations to the Crystal buffet which served a good range of food and cute desserts. The other thing lacking is the number of Disney pins you can find throughout the park. Overall I really enjoyed my second trip there and will definitely go back again soon! No matter where in the world it's my happiest place!!!

Yelp
This is by far the best Disneyland I've ever been to! I live in California and Tokyo blows California's Disneyland out of the water! Here are reasons why Tokyo DL is on top of the list! First is crowd control. We had to reserve dates to visit DL which makes sense because there isn't a crazy about of people in the park. We didn't have issues get around the park, everyone was polite, and times to get onto ride was about 10-30 minutes (depending on the ride). Except for Baymax! That was a good 50-60 minute wait. It's a new ride so understandable. Besides that, rides were easy to get on. Second, cleanliness! There was little to no trash where ever we went! The bathrooms were super clean, the restaurants cleaned and sanitized, and the rides - clean AF! We did not feel dirty whatsoever! Third, the food. There was so many choices to choose from and food not even available in the US. For example, matcha items, mochie ice cream, pink hotdogs, all vegan food, rice in meals, I mean it keeps going! Last, is items such has as gifts, items to wear, packaged gifts, etc. These are things I've never seen in the US. Fortunately, since the yen is low right now, items are more affordable. If you have a chance to visit Japan, I highly recommend doing it ASAP before the yen starts to get back to normal. Since Japan opened back their borders to us foreigners, it's a great time to take advantage! I haven't been to a Disneyland in years because of how overcrowded the one in California is and Tokyo does a better job at everything! The US can learn a lot from other countries processes but I know that won't change for the US. If I was to go again, I would visit in a heartbeat! I highly recommend visiting Tokyo Disneyland and I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
We had so much fun at Tokyo Disneyland. Their popcorn flavors and buckets are amazing! The merch was all so cute. The food was amazing! The transportation via the monorail was convenient. I loved the Mickey handles you get to hold at Disney. It was pretty hot when we went but most of the rides were air conditioned. The castle was beautiful. I would recommend going on the inside tour of the castle. The shopping was so much fun. The employees all seem so happy and welcoming and Japan is so amazingly clean. Everyone is so polite and nice. I would go back in a heartbeat. Happy Yelping!

Stayed at the hotel to get early entry. Lines were faster and more organized than Anaheim. Super friendly staff. It was very familiar if you've been to Anaheim.

Yelp
It's pretty much what you can expect at any Disney park - crowds of people and hours of waiting in lines. Note that there is no longer a fast pass system. You can use the app to purchase "premier access" passes for a few rides. I was able to get to all the rides I wanted to in one day, but would recommend two days (if you have that amount of time to spare) so you don't feel rushed. I spent two and a half hours just waiting for the ride I most wanted to go on first thing in the morning (Beauty and the Beast). I also made sure to make it to Pooh's Hunny Hunt and Monster's Inc. Even though you won't know what is being said on Jungle Cruise if you don't speak Japanese, I'd recommend going on it, as it was unique and not the same as the version in California. Tower of Terror is a different story, but I didn't fully understand it since I don't speak Japanese. I noticed the rides here are not as intense as they are in the States; for example, the drops on Haunted Mansion are not as stomach-lurching as the equivalent ride at California Disney. I found it to also be a good experience to go on rides that were also at other Disneylands since the entrances/decor is different than other parks. Let me tell you, trying to shop was a nightmare in the evening, so I'd recommend looking for items in the day. There were so many people crammed into the store that I was standing shoulder to shoulder with the people next to me, making it impossible to get around and look at anything. Luckily, I had browsed around a bit earlier in the day and was able to get a couple things at that time. Souvenir selection isn't the best. They only had a sweater and a hat (with mickey ears) that said Tokyo Disneyland. They had lots of small towels. You'll want to get one or bring a little hand towel in because there is no other way to dry your hands in the park (or anywhere else in Japan since they stopped the hand dryers during COVID). Fireworks were canceled both nights I was at the Disney parks, but I've read that they weren't much of a show anyway. Visiting this park is something I wanted to do as a Disney fan, but if you're picking between Disneyland and Sea, definitely go with Sea. It's a completely unique experience.
