We stopped in here for a quick bite to eat at lunch time. We ordered the 12 fried dumplings ( 4 chicken, 4 pork and 4 veg). The price was reasonable $16.00. I would like to try other things on the menu another day. They take cash or card and they deliver your food to your table. If you like my reviews please follow us around Australia 🇦🇺.

We had a great dining experience at Tokyo Dumpling Restaurant in Cairns CBD. The pork and chicken dumplings were absolutely delicious, fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. The chicken fried rice was well-seasoned and satisfying, and the chicken ramen noodles had a comforting broth and tender chicken. For drinks, we tried the lemon, lime & bitters and kombucha, both of which were refreshing and complemented the meal nicely. While the service was a bit on the slower side and things seemed a little unorganized at times, the staff were friendly, acknowledged the delay, and made sure everything we ordered was delivered correctly, which we appreciated. Overall, the food quality was excellent, and we’d happily return for another round of dumplings!

I was really craving Japanese ramen today, so I decided to visit this place and ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. The food was served promptly, and everything—from the texture of the noodles to the portion size and the flavor—was excellent. Above all, the owner and staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely love to come back again!

Had the vegetable stirfry udon and the vegetable gyoza from the vegan menu. The gyozas tasted very bland and boring. It felt like I was just eating straight-up pasta (I'm referring to that bland carbohydrate flavour). I've actually had better gyozas from the supermarket frozen section to be honest (I'm sorry😞). I don't think the owner or the staff have actually tried it and tried to tweak the recipe. The Vegetable Stir-fry upon was also bland. I couldn't feel any other flavour other than the udon. There was a very little tiny hint of sweetness in the dish, but I could only pick it up after almost finishing my dish. It was also really oily. So it just felt like bland udon with a hint of soy sauce and bland vegetables. It was edible, but I didn't enjoy it at all. Throughout the whole meal, I was just thinking to myself, "I wish I could've just gone home to eat, making an avo toast at home would've been less bland." So yeah. I bet all of your non-vegan items are great, hence the good reviews on them, but I think you guys should check on the vegetarian and especially!! vegan parts of the menu. I saw a review from around 6 years ago saying that the Vegetable Gyozas were bland. I guess that hasn't changed, and in a really long time😞 I really hope this review was useful so that Cairns can step up their vegan options game and not just serve bland things🥹

Google
Good was so good ! And the salmon which I had was amazingly fabulous It is more like a cafe than a restaurant inside but the kitchen pushes out some amazing food ! All looked delicious- I had the vegetable dumplings then salmon rice dish that came with miso They were busy had a big group out the front but food came reasonably quickly Maybe only (very small thing) was that I ordered green tea and the cup was half full also miso soup was only half full of water - bit odd but small thing This restaurant was really good if you like Japanese and it was not overly expensive either - not much atmosphere but makes it up with great food !

Yelp
I came here mostly because I had a strange dumpling craving after spending a day snorkeling and diving the GBR. We'd stopped by the ramen place on the block but were deterred by the wait and figured we would get more options at Tokyo Dumpling. My friend and I shared a plate of 9 pan-fried dumplings, and each ordered our own entrees. I chose a vegetarian noodle stir-fry. Everything was presented beautifully. I particularly liked how the dumplings were lined up neatly in a row with the perfect amount of burn on the bottoms. The noodles were a bit oily, but otherwise, really hit the spot. The extra calories didn't really matter to me after having spent all day swimming. We ordered the plum wine to drink. It was very light and went well with the rest of our meal. Nothing to write home about, and definitely not the best example of Chinese food by a long shot, but pretty decent for the tourist trap that is Cairns. Prices were rather reasonable as well, if I remember correctly.

Yelp
Got to my hotel in Cairns and wanted to grab a bite for dinner. Nothing close by struck my interest, so a Yelp search revealed Tokyo Dumpling a couple of blocks away. Restaurant is two stalls worth of space, on the smaller size but clean and spacious- outdoor cafe tables were also available. Now I've been eating on a regular basis during the long flights from Michigan to Cairns, so I wasn't hungry, but I knew if I didn't eat something for dinner I would be starving before breakfast. Something on the lighter side was in order. TD had an interesting cold ramen salad on the menu, with an order of gyoza and a beer my desires were fulfilled. The orders soon came, beer, gyoza, then main dish. The ramen salad was a hit, good amount of greens, chicken, and noodles- an interesting variation on somen salad. Gyoza was pretty tasty too, good size and flavor. Total bill US with tax & tip was under $25, not bad for a resort city like Cairns. Will keep it in mind for future trips to Cairns, recommend and will repeat!

Yelp
My first Ramen in Cairns and I must say the best I have tried here. Presentation excellent, broth just like Japan. A must try when in Cairns

Yelp
Amazing! So cute, great food for great prices, and conveniently located. The ramen was perfect, as was our udon. And I highly recommend the cheese and potato dumplings! Yum! They were busy but quickly sat us down and worked quickly to get our food out.

Yelp
The dumplings live up to the name of this restaurant. I tried the spicy beef as my entree but nothing beat their dumplings. The dumplings are a must!

Yelp
Delicious main dish (udon noodle). Miso soup wasn't great and dumplings were okay. But main dish was deliciously amazing!

Yelp
I'd give a five but the young lay @ the front wasn't the friendliest. My husband ate a delicious cold noodle TanTan Noodle and I ordered Teriyaki Thin Beef Udon Noodle Soup. The noodles and broth in both dishes were perfectly boiled being neither too soft or hard. He thoroughly enjoyed his broth and miso soup. The dish I ordered was perfect even on a hot day.

Yelp
Great food ok dumplings. In this expensive city this is a rare gem. The food was inexpensive, great serving size, quickly made and delicious. The lady at the register wasn't as friendly as I'd hoped, but the food made up for it. We had the ginger pork and #7: chicken with rice and curry. Both dishes were well seasoned and tasty. We also ordered 3 pork dumplings, the dumplings were ok....they weren't bad, I've just had better and would pass on them next time. In conclusion, I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
On a Sunday night in summer, not much was open. Tokyo Dumpling was fast, delicious, and filling, and we loved sitting out on the street after sunset when the heat had broken. Good cheap eats.

Yelp
After a long day of diving this was the perfect place. Try the pan fried dumplings and the spicy chicken, all of it was excellent. The house made beer is also nice and refreshing. You will love the staff and the food comes out really quick for those of you who want to eat now, like we did.

Yelp
Pretty solid dumplings. Handmade. You can't get them steamed tho. We got prawn, beef and cheesy potato. All were good I like the potato one best.

Yelp
Have never had a disappointing meal here. Food is great and affordable. Interior is very modern and stylish. Great for large groups. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We are vegetarians here for a vacation and came here based on our lonely planet guidebook's recommendation. We enjoyed the dumplings -- we preferred the potato and cheese dumplings pan fried to steamed dumplings and vegetable dumplings (we ordered 12 dumplings and devoured them!). The pan fried udon noodles were tasty as well, a bit sweet for our taste but overall we enjoyed them. We also got the agedashi tofu which was nice. Would recommend this place to vegetarians looking for an Asian meal.

Yelp
Not just dumplings but Japanese meals (served with miso of course). Fast & tasty. Perfect for a quick lunch. Complimentary iced tea.

Yelp
As the name suggests, I had dumplings and they were ok hence the 3 stars. For dumplings head further down the street to cinq ramen.
