Tokyo Katsu

Great little spot in hampton for Japanese food. Met a client here to grab a meal and decided on the lunch time special. Everything was delicious and fresh. Service was very prompt and the food came out quickly. Inside holds about 25 pax and approx 10 pax outside. Do give this local Japanese place a go when you're in Hampton

This place is a must do for my holidays! The food is always impeccably good and I all feel like I am a little town in Japan! Would recommend the teriyaki chicken don as a great lunch!

I’ve never really been a fan of Japanese cuisine but it was my best friend’s birthday, we were in Hampton for a bit of shopping and I’m a sucker for any 4.7+ star rated restaurant. WOW !!! We ordered 3 main meals (karage chicken curry, tonkotsu ramen and the katsu pork donburi) because we couldn’t decide what not to try - the lovely lady who served us kindly alerted that it may be too much food. It was, but so worth it and very reasonably priced! 10/10 - would recommend! I will definitely be open to trying more Japanese food after our experience here!

This is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Melbourne. The staff are lovely and warm. And the food is by far some of the best Japanese dishes that I have ever had. The curry bowls are amazing, and the sushi rolls are perfectly made. Can’t wait to come back here and try some other dishes!

🔥 Tokyo Katsu – Hampton I’ve already been here five times in one month and I keep ordering the same Katsu Chicken every single time 🤯🍗 The place is small and simple, but the chef is absolutely amazing 👨‍🍳🔥 Crispy outside, juicy inside, perfect golden panko crust… honestly, this is next-level comfort food 😍 Katsu Chicken has an interesting history – it was inspired by European schnitzel in the 19th century, but Japan turned it into an icon with panko breadcrumbs, deep frying, and rich sauces. Today it’s one of the most loved Japanese dishes worldwide 🇯🇵✨ Tokyo Katsu does it perfectly. I didn’t expect it to be this good, but I’m honestly addicted 🤤

The batter is thin making it soft and crispy and the health conscious fried chicken tastes better. It's less greasy, making it more savory. The curry is strong in flavor, but it's delicious when eaten with rice.

My all-time favourite Japanese restaurant in Melbourne! 🤩 This small, cozy spot in Bentleigh never disappoints. The food has always been amazing, consistently fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. I highly recommend the miso glazed eggplant, sashimi, and katsu curry. Each one is a standout! I don’t live nearby, but I happily make the trip just to eat here. It’s that good. Just a tip: make sure to book ahead, especially on weekends — it’s always fully booked!
