Google
I had been looking forward to visiting Tokyo Tower, especially at night, having seen so many beautiful photos of the city lights stretching endlessly into the horizon. Seeing it in person absolutely lived up to expectations. The view from the Main Deck at 150 metres was stunning, with a full panoramic scene of Tokyo's sparkling skyline. I stayed up there for around 40 minutes taking in the sights and snapping photos from multiple angles. Tokyo Tower stands at 333 metres tall and was inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, though it’s slightly taller. Built in 1958, it originally served as a television broadcasting antenna and remains one of the city’s iconic landmarks. Its red-and-white design stands out beautifully, especially when lit up at night. The atmosphere on the observation deck was relaxed, and there was plenty of room to enjoy the views without feeling crowded. The night lighting changes seasonally, which adds something a little different if you visit at various times of year. You can also explore souvenir shops, grab a drink, or check out the FootTown building underneath with its mini attractions and eateries. If you're planning a trip to Tokyo, I’d definitely recommend adding this to your evening plans. It’s especially ideal for photographers and anyone wanting a breathtaking, elevated view of the city.

Google
Tokyo Tower by Night — Simply Magical! I visited Tokyo Tower in the evening around 8:30pm, and the night view of the city was absolutely breathtaking. Seeing Tokyo illuminated from above — with endless lights stretching in every direction — was a moment I’ll never forget. The atmosphere at night is calm and romantic, and the tower itself looks stunning all lit up. The observation deck offers incredible panoramic views, and everything is well-organized and easy to access. Whether you're into photography, architecture, or just want a memorable view of Tokyo, a nighttime visit to Tokyo Tower is an absolute must. Highly recommended!

Google
Iconic landmark of Tokyo offering an absolutely stunning 360° view of the city and life breathing within. We arrived early in the evening and stayed late to see the lights of the tower turn on and enjoy the breathtaking sights of Tokyo in the dark. You can buy tickets on the premises for the main deck (regular price) and the top deck (extra price). The elevator ride and its waiting line to the main deck go quickly and smoothly, offering you a quick look at the insides of the tower and the panoramic views of Tokyo that you are about to experience. The staff is super friendly and gives you directions! We only chose to experience the main deck and while it was crowded, it didn't feel too cramped and you were able to easily find your own spot to enjoy the views. There, you can access the souvenir shop that will sell the official Tokyo Tower stamp mark for 300¥, as well as the shrine where you can pray if you wish to. There's also the waiting line for the top deck which seemed quite long so arm yourself with patience! Overall, a must-see. It's never boring to look at the endlessly stretching metropolis far out on the horizon and pick out all the little details that you can find in such a massive and dynamic place.

Google
Tokyo Tower is a must-visit if you're in the city. It’s 333 meters tall and gives amazing views of Tokyo. The main observation deck is great, but the top deck tour is worth it if you want the full experience. The tower lights up beautifully at night and feels like a mix of old-school charm and modern vibes. It’s easy to reach, has cafes and souvenir shops, and the nearby Zojoji Temple makes the area even more scenic. Perfect for sunset views, photos, or just soaking in the Tokyo skyline.

Google
Surrounding view of Tokyo city. There are no queue in the weekday, I went to the mid tower and it cost about 1500 yen per person. There is also a small cafe there which sells dessert. If you just want to get souvenirs for the tower, you can just visit level 3 where they sell Tokyo tower's gifts and more

Google
We didn’t go to the top, but just being around Tokyo Tower was an amazing experience! The tower looks stunning up close, especially in the evening when it lights up. The area around it has a nice vibe, with great spots to take photos and enjoy the view. A must-see if you’re in Tokyo! 🇯🇵📸

Google
I visited this place today. Very hot. Remember to bring umbrella on summer days. Over all it’s a nice place to visit, there is lot of water activity as well, but that’s not guaranteed always. I think it’s only a summer show. Near by there is a nice park, after visiting the tower just walk there and relax. It’s a great place to remember.

Google
Tokyo Tower is absolutely breathtaking — both in its striking design and the incredible views it offers. I visited at night, and watching the city light up from the observation deck was magical. You get a 360-degree panoramic view of Tokyo, and on a clear day, you can even spot Mt. Fuji! The tower itself is well-maintained, with friendly staff, great souvenir shops, and even some fun exhibitions and attractions inside. It’s a perfect blend of historical charm and modern appeal. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a local, Tokyo Tower is a must-see. Highly recommend stopping by, especially in the evening/night — it’s iconic for a reason!

Yelp
It was great. The view was amazing. Was very scary but you can go through the stairs. https://rumble.com/v5wyyle-tokyo-tower-tower-in-minato-japan.html

Yelp
When in Tokyo, gotta check out Tokyo Tower. I didn't even know there's a shopping center right underneath! We got there early afternoon and saw Christmas decorations. There were people there but not so crowded you had to wait in line for everything. We let the kids enjoy Red, gaming center underneath which can be fun but it was a little empty when we went. Definitely picked up when we were leaving. We got up to the observation deck and checked out the views. It also wasn't very spacious compared to Taipei 101. Great seeing Tokyo from a different perspective. You didn't have to check in your bags like the newest observation deck in town. We felt better about that.

Yelp
Tokyo Tower is a historic landmark that you can go up to the mid deck for 1500 Y or to top deck for 3,000 Y. Reasonably priced to see the views of Tokyo. There are gift shops on different levels to get souvenirs. The staff to get tickets are friendly.
google avatar

Lilian W.

Yelp
Tokyo Tower is an iconic landmark in Tokyo and an absolute must-visit! During my visit, they had a charming Christmas installation with a mini replica of the tower, adding a festive touch to the experience. There was a bit of a line for tickets to go up the tower, but the wait is worth it for the views. The base of the tower has several restaurants and shops, offering plenty of options for souvenirs. While the food court didn't have a huge selection and felt a bit tourist-focused, it's still a nice spot to grab a quick bite. Just be prepared for slightly higher prices. The tower itself is beautiful, and you can walk right up to its base. At night, it lights up and creates a magical atmosphere. Seeing Tokyo Tower illuminated against the skyline was one of the highlights of my trip. It's definitely worth stopping by, especially in the evening!

Yelp
I arrived around here 12:45pm on a Sunday with my friends while visiting from USA. There was a Korean food festival going on right before the entrance. We ate at the festival before going inside around 1:10pm. We bought tickets off Klook and received assistance from staff on 1st floor. We went to 3rd floor to the ticket counter to redeem voucher. There are 3 floors of VR games. What I didn't like was the long wait time for some of the attractions. The wait wasn't contributed to a long line. It's the turnaround time and the fact that multiplayer didn't work for some attractions, which getting through 2+ party groups longer. I likes that most of the games requires you to be active in some shape. They had a jump rump game and a jumping basketball one. One of the race car attractions I completed was like Mario cart and was actually fun and decent in length compared a similar attraction elsewhere. On the top floor, they have various race car VRs, but all but one is reservation only. One attraction was like a mini Squid Game and that was fun. We also did virtual dodgeball which was interesting. I think it would've been better if there was more space and it's definitely better with groups. You can have virtual teammates as well. There are food courts/areas on two floors, so eating is no issues. There is were a couple places on the bottom floor and outside prior to entering as well that weren't festival venders. If you're a person that enjoys VR games, then this is the spot for you. However, just be prepared to wait, especially on the popular games. You can go to the top of the tower for observation type deck, but we didn't do that. At night, the tower is beautiful! There is a spot outside that is set up for selfies. The line was long, however. I'm sure it's worth it!

Yelp
One of most memorable experience. It's an oldie compared with other Skyscraper buildings and I still recommend this. One of most iconic spot to visit when traveling in Tokyo. The evening walk from the train station to the Tokyo Tower filled with city lights, steps, slanted slopes, and residential area yet calm because most of the stores a were closed. It reminds me of walking in the evening in the Hong Kong Island (another metropolitan city). I was transfixed under the tower with the koifish windsocks hanging, naturally we took tons of photos. Interior has a 80's feel which we lined up for elevator. When we reached the top, The city street is a symphony of lights, with buildings and storefronts adorned in a kaleidoscope of colors.
google avatar

Nick P.

Yelp
The Tokyo Tower is very iconic and also a foreigner theme park. The basic admission for the main deck is 1500 yen. The top deck is 3300 yen for a bit more and you can go all the way to the top. The elevators are pretty tight, not really recommended for those with claustrophobia or if they're overweight/obese. You also get a free drink with the top deck pass. When you are about to leave the top deck, there was a line going down. Just FYI, it was very crowded on the top deck with all of the tourists, the space is not that big. They close very late at 11 pm.

Yelp
Finished in 1958, Tokyo Tower was modeled after the Eiffel Tower though is slightly taller at 1,092', is painted in white & international orange, and is a working communication & observation tower. You'll find a few shops & eateries at the tower's base. A general ticket whisks you up to the two-level Main Deck at 490' high. The upper level has spacious viewing platforms and a central gift shop. The lower level sports a cafe and daring glass windows on the floor looking straight down the tower's ironwork. Want a better view? A ticket to the 819' high Top Deck requires advanced reservations and an additional charge, which we did not experience. OVERALL: I'll choose an observation deck over a silly Ferris wheel any day!

Yelp
I enjoy traveling to Tokyo where I squeeze in sightseeing, shopping and eating. The old man in me really appreciates popular destinations and landmarks. From afar I've witnessed Tokyo Tower (TT) but I finally was able to make my way here after sightseeing at Zozoji Temple. TT was built in 1958 and stands at 333 meters (1093 feet) tall, which is 13 meters (43 feet) taller than its model, the Eiffel Tower (1050 feet). The two colors may appear red and white but it's actually "international orange" and "white." This is decided by aviation law that buildings over a certain height must use these colors. I was so fortunate that the weather was beautiful on the day I stopped by. It was early in the day and luckily it wasn't that busy with other tourists. I was pressed for time as there were other places I wanted to visit so I opted not to go up the Tokyo Tower observatory deck. If you: 1) don't have anything specific planned and not sure what to do in Tokyo; and 2) are looking to kill a couple of hours, I'd recommend heading over to Minato Ward so you can check out both TT and Zozoji Temple. Your time in Tokyo will be well spent sightseeing, getting in good exercise with walking and absorbing some of Tokyo's iconic landmarks.

Yelp
A good experience for the price. Came in when it opened and there was no line to get in. Went straight up and enjoyed the view. Cafe opened 30min after opening time, so we just relaxed and waiting for that as it was a hot day outside and we wanted to enjoy cold treats (yes, iced coffee is a treat for my husband)

Yelp
it's giving: okayyy lesgo xD honestly i lov historical sites and stuff; all in her glory and a landmark to a city that many can call home, but yes she is just a tower, nothing much. nonetheless i had to photograph a moment with her ~

Yelp
Iconic Tokyo landmark that definitely worth a visit! The ticket was pretty cheap (1200 yen per person), and even though the observation decks weren't as high as they other famous ones, the view is still spectacular. Would recommend going half an hour before sunset, so you get to see the city transform from day to night. At nighttime, they play some spooky music (maybe for Halloween?) and project some video on top of the observation windows, by they only do it on one side of one floor of the observation decks, so you can still view the city unobstructed. There's also a variety of shops at the base of the tower worth browsing, and also a VR boat race game that has a free game that comes with the observation deck tickets!

Yelp
Yelp Review 2024 #4: Tokyo Tower is not Japan's tallest tower - not the world's tallest building either. You can come here and still get a nice vantage point of Tokyo. You have to buy a ticket to get to the observation deck. There's an elevator to get to the top, of course. When we came here, it was cloudy and foggy so the views were not the best. So, pick a clear/ sunny day. You can see Rainbow Bridge that connects the rest of Tokyo to Odaiba. If you're hoping to see Fujisan from Tokyo, this is not the place. You'll see models of Tokyo Tower. One is made of Swarovski crystals. You can spend anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours here. Book your ticket online - it's about 300yen cheaper than same day tickets. It's about $12 per ticket which is rather cheap. Would I come here again? No, once is enough. There's a cafe and a restaurant inside Tokyo Tower. If you are short on time and you can only visit 1 or 2 observation decks in Tokyo, I recommend Skytree and Shibuya Sky.

Yelp
Tokyo Tower was a really great way to see the city and learn about the different areas. We did the top deck tour which goes all the way up. They provided us with a small device to listen to and see what is in each direction in 360 degrees. It's like Tokyo's version of the Eiffel Tower. I've been to both now, and it's a fun experience. Highly recommend you check this place out. I recommend going early if you can. We went for first opening and we had no wait. And it wasn't packed.
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
For about 1200 yen, we opted for the main deck viewing. There are two floors for the main deck viewing. At night, they have a projection show where you can see simulated graphics projected on the windows. Peak hours will be crowded. For free, you can just view the Tokyo Tower at the nearby shrine grass areas.
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Pro: friendly staff, gift shop, food court. Con: none. Coming to Tokyo tower was on the list of sights seeing so upon arriving we learned that they two level you can go up to. The 150 meter main deck for about 1200 yen and then there the higher 250 meter observation deck at about 3000 yen ticket. My group chose the 150 M ticket and the view was nice and we did pick up some items at the gift shop on that floor. As we left the deck down the elevator we were let off to another floor with more gift shops and a food court. All in all, pretty fun experience since it is my first time in Japan so I would recommend anyone to come check it out if you are not going to any other sky tree tower.

Yelp
Tourist adventures!! As someone who is super afraid of heights, I had so much fun at the Tokyo Tower. We bought tickets for the top deck view and I lost my ticket while ordering food, I'm pretty sure it fell out of my pocket and someone snatched it off the ground. Totally fine though, because they totally replaced it for us and were really considerate when we changed our viewing time. The view from afar, right below, main deck, and top deck were all amazingly spectacular. We had no idea they had an elevator but my poor grandma was such a trooper walking up 600 steps with us!! Definitely made the trip tiring but so worth the view. From the historical elevator ride up to the interactive maps to allocate what was around us was super cool. I would definitely recommend everyone who visits Japan to come visit this place, maybe not the stairs if they're not already tired from all the walking
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
Despite going to Japan multiple times I think this is my first time going up Tokyo tower. We went up at night and it was the day of the earthquake so I think that's why the top deck was closed. It was still pretty cool to see the views. I think if you just want a pic of Tokyo tower behind you then it's not worth paying for a ticket to go up it.
google avatar

Danbee H.

Yelp
I loved visiting Tokyo Tower! The culture of Japan and the history of pride in Tokyo is all embraced here in this experience. Like the Tokyo Skytree experience, you can buy two variations of tickets here to visit differing heights. My fiancé and I actually just opted for the standard viewing without the visit to the highest deck because we were at the Skytree prior to wrapping up our day here at Tokyo Tower at night. We walked through the night ambiance on the 360 deck at 150M and it was beautiful. You can see all the lights through the city and the the skyline was shrouded with light clouds that made the view something to enjoy! After we finished our walk all around the deck, we sat to watch the projection video of the history of the tower and the history of how Tokyo was rebuilt. It was truly an incredible tell of Tokyo's journey to be what it is in present day, and definitely gave you more insight to the cultural integrity of Japan. It was the perfect date spot at the end of our trip to wrap up the elegance and history of Tokyo, Japan.

Yelp
Tokyo Tower / Minato (Tokyo) -- Gosh, the last time I was at Tokyo Tower I was around six years old. I just remember my grown cousin Tomoko teasing me endlessly and me snapping back, "When are you getting a husband?" Yes, I was a bit sassy as a child. I haven't changed that much in the intervening years, and this time, I had a valid reason to return. For a ¥4,000 entry fee, I registered for the Tokyo Tower Climb on October 14 to raise awareness of mental health in Japan. Yes, me who would take a cab to go three blocks. However, not to boast, I have been pretty good at averaging 15,000 steps a day back home. The climb required only 600 steps, but it was all open-air stairs. They said it usually takes fifteen minutes. Some show-off took less than three minutes to get to the main observation deck. I was panting toward the end, but I managed to complete the task in less than ten minutes. Respectable, don't you think? Well, I was able to take in the panoramic views before heading back down. Naturally I thought there would be an elevator, but no, it was another 600 steps back down. Now that I've done it, I have to say I have a fresh perspective on how sturdy the tower is up close. Granted it's not as iconically romantic as the Eiffel Tower since Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn never danced on it, but hey, Godzilla and King Kong have destroyed it in their testosterone-fueled battles. That must be worth something. RELATED - Exploring Japan? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/2qrUBZo

Yelp
I have been to Tokyo Tower before but this time I have been here during the Halloween month of October. Inside the tower at night they have a spooky show that goes on the windows. It is decorated with lights and sound, and even the mascots come around and do some funky things with the guests who are inside the tower. It does stop so if you don't want that for your city view photos just wait till it ends and you can take a regular photo. But I found this to be fun and different. I am glad I came here during October to see how they celebrate Halloween. If you do visit here I would suggest coming at night because the city lights look so beautiful.
google avatar

Ward K.

Yelp
Tokyo Tower is one of the iconic symbols of Japan and is a must see when visiting Tokyo as it stands 333 meters or almost 361 yards in height. The tower was inspired by none other than the Eiffel Tower. Inside, you will find other things to check out like a gift shop that has exclusive Tokyo Tower merchandise, small amusement park, and cafe. If you didn't care to go up to the observation deck to see the sights or was planning on going up Shibuya Sky instead, I would still recommend seeing the Tokyo Tower especially at night as it is a gorgeous site to see all lit up.
google avatar

Abel R.

Yelp
We arrived at the appointed time and had to wait in a long line. We were moved from area to area, standing about with no place to sit. The higher view was fabulous but my feet were very sore by the end. The observation deck itself is divided into the main deck (150m) and top deck (250m). The staff were nice enough and gave a decent monologue on the way up. If you're claustrophobic this is not for you. You will be crammed up with people in the elevators.
google avatar

Ben J.

Yelp
Tokyo Tower was a really cool experience that provides an awesome view of the city. I opted for the top deck tour which included an audio of its history and a private tour, along with the significantly higher viewpoint of the city. Both the top and mid decks show 360 degrees. It was really cool to learn how the founder, Hisakichi Maeda, and architect, Tachū Naitō worked together to design the structre. Additionally, the views were amazing and probably can only be similarly achieved by visiting the Tokyo Skytree. A major benefit of the top deck option is that the audio recording describes what you're looking at from different angles and has labeled buildings on the display.
google avatar

Quentin P.

Yelp
Cool tourist destination. Highly recommend. Nice views and nice building for how old it is
google avatar

Peter N.

Yelp
The view of Tokyo from this landmark is awesome! Tokyo Tower has been a part of the Tokyo skyline since 1958 and is the second tallest structure after the Skytree. Tokyo Tower is not as busy as the Skytree which was nice. Just like the Skytree, the Tower has shops and food options. Definitely worth a visit!
google avatar

Alejandra D.

Yelp
I came to Tokyo tower years ago and remembered it a little differently than this visit with my family. There was a much larger glass cut out in the floor that you could stand on, and I guess they made it smaller now, possibly for safety reasons. Tickets were easy to purchase as walk-ins. It's pretty much just an observation deck to walk around and they have a small cafe that sells drinks and ice cream. Good to stay for an hour or so. I wish the cafe had more seating as it's very limited seating. They're ADA friendly here so I liked that. The gift shop is cute, but there's additional shopping once you exit!! and much cheaper than gift shop prices. as you exit, there was a Lawson where we got some snacks, b/c you know you gotta eat combini snacks!
google avatar

Bryan S.

Yelp
Tokyo Tower is a must see landmark in Tokyo and can be spectacularly viewed at night or in the daytime. One thing to note is most tail lines are not too close, but I recommend arriving via the Asakusa or Oedo Line and getting off at Daimon or Shibakoen Station. From These stations you can walk thru and see the great sights of Prince Shiba Park before getting the Amazing view of Tokyo Tower.
google avatar

Xing C.

Yelp
While in Tokyo, you definitely can't miss a visit to the Tokyo Tower. It is a landmark building in Japan and truly magnificent. My friend and I bought tickets for the highest level, hoping to get a panoramic view of the entire city of Tokyo. A polite guide led us up the stairs, explaining the history and significance of the Tokyo Tower. They even gave us a black and white photo as a souvenir and took a beautiful picture of us. When we reached the highest level at 150 meters, we were able to see the entire city of Tokyo in all its beauty and grandeur. I spent a long time there, gazing into the distance. I really loved the Tokyo Tower.
google avatar

Kwan K.

Yelp
Don't bother going to the top deck. Complete waste of time and the views are not much better than the main deck. You need to line up to 2 elevators just to go up from the main deck. The waiting line is cramped and they do a pretty poor job for managing the queue. Another line to get down once you get up there. Took about 60 mins to get up and then down. Spent more time in line than appreciating the view. Overall a waste of time and probably better off going to sky tree for a view.
google avatar

Jason D.

Yelp
Top ten visit spot for any trip to Tokyo! After purchasing a ticket, it's an elevator ride to the top. The time you have up there is actually limited, so keep that in mind. There was also the coolest bathroom at the top. Expect to stand in a very crowded elevator (I mean, it is Tokyo) but the views are beautiful. Definitely worth the admission!

jc c.

Yelp
Great for photos and a fun environment at the base of the tower. Not too difficult to get to. Note there is some uphill walking involved so keep that in mind for younger children and the elderly. Once you get to the base there is a festival type environment with various food vendors including Marion crepes, alcohol, and Japanese treats. There is a bolted down camera stand nearby where you can take selfies with your phone. Set your phone camera on the timer function and then it will countdown for the photo.
google avatar

Yelp
Tokyo Tower is an Eiffel Tower look alike, built in 1958, that offers nice panoramic views of Tokyo.  It's not nearly as tall as the more modern Sky Tree tower (vintage 2010) but for what it's worth it is closer to the center of Tokyo proper.  The main observation deck is indoors and is at 150 meters and it was plenty good for panoramic photos although a more expensive 250 meter deck is also available.  It's apparently painted orange and white for local air safety requirements.
google avatar

Qiongqiong M.

Yelp
Came here in end of the April when they celebrated kids day!! It was empty. Not much to do here but it's a tour spot. Seen many city towers before it was surprisingly not as tall as the ones I saw in the US perhaps bc it's Japan too many earthquakes
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
This place was pretty cool. It's not terribly expensive and the entire thing doesn't take too long, which is a plus. We elected to go all the way up to the top because why not? The elevators could be a bit bigger as they really jammed us in there like sardines. Either that, or include a few less people on the tour as I imagine changing the size of the elevator might be challenging at this point. They gave us an audio device and I'm not sure what the purpose of this was, it ends up being something you just have to carry around. The views are beautiful and really magnified by the fact that they use a ton of mirrors up there. It helps with pictures for sure. Worth a visit I guess if you have time and like sprawling cityscape views.

Yelp
What a waste of time. Anticlimactic and slow to move. If you're claustrophobic forget about it.

Charles S.

Yelp
Tower has got the view of the city which in some areas are pretty nice. These views can be seen pretty much any rooftop deck when you're at the main deck. Therefore, it becomes a cost-benefit analysis for you. In addition to the main deck, we got tickets for the top deck. The top deck does have a little bit better games and when you come down you have a Canon. So look at. I have generally found most Japanese are very accommodating and helpful this is not the case. When we showed up a little early to go up to the top. They were very strict wrong. When you can go out. Recommend purchasing tickets for the next payable to go to the top and then come back down.

Yelp
Very nice. Recommend doing the top deck tour if you can. Good photo opportunities. You can see planes landing at Haneda.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit! It was much easier to get into this tower than it was going to the skytree.

Yelp
I love this architecture known as very famous landmark of Tokyo! Cool red structure! Great shape widen toward the bottom! I really love! Now, this Tokyo Tower is the 60th anniversary. Many people visit here for sightseeing. We can see the splendid city view from the observation platform. They have two platforms. One is called the main deck on 150 meters from the bottom. Another one is called the top deck on 250 meters from the bottom. The popular one is the main deck and the entrance fee is 900 yen. We have to join the tour if you want to go up to the top deck and the tour charge is 2800 yen. On the main deck, there is a walking window on the floor which is made from glass. We can walk on it and see the directly below view. It's a little scared but please try to walk. There is the small shrine in Tokyo Tower. It's called Tower Daijingu shrine. We can get "Goshuin" (handwritten sign and stamp of shrines and temples) at here. But ordinally, they offer it for group tourists who made reservation only. However sometime, they offer it for ordinary people on special limited time. We have to check the special period out on their news release. Therefore it's very rare one. Their Goshuin charges 300 yen. Also they have the original Goshuin collection book and it charges 1944 yen. Details about Goshuin is below. http://60ee3107.starfree.jp/goshuin.html http://60ee3107.starfree.jp/goshuin.html

Yelp
TLDR: Is it cool? Yes. Should you go all the way to the top? That's up to you. Best time to go? An hour or two before sunset. Look into the Skytree, & you can shop at the bottom when you're done. At night, it is lit up really cool. I definitely enjoyed Tokyo Tower, but can't say that I loved it. If you have been to an observation deck in a city, they all tend to be quite similiar in style so you start looking for the standout details that set it apart from all the rest. To break it down, there are multiple levels you can access, each offering different heights with different price tags. I will say, the complimentary binocular rental up top is a nice perk. There was also a guide with each direction showing what you were looking at. The highest point was very cool, but it was a bit annoying to have the small room pumped full of some artificial scent that overpowered your nostrils to the point that you wanted to leave after about 5-10 minutes. Who knows, maybe it's on purpose so you don't hang around all day up there. Is going all the way to the top worth it? That really depends on you. If you have the time to go to the Skytree, you might want to go over there to get higher up. We did enjoy it, but after going down to the lower deck afterwards, I think most people would be happy with that view. I highly recommend going to Tokyo Tower about 1 hour before sunset so you can enjoy a little of the daytime views then enjoy watching the sunset from the viewing deck. There are also small clear ports much like the Sears Tower in Chicago that you can walk over or take a photo op with. I did one for my profile pic. My biggest gripe with observation towers is glare. Taking a decent photo without a reflection from the glass can be almost impossible unless you rest the lens directly on the glass. After you finish enjoying the view, there is some shopping & food options below. There is also a large Hello Kitty store that can save you a trip to the Sanrio Puroland.

Yelp
Awesome experience for a small price. We paid extra to go to the tippy top, but I feel it wasn't really necessary. If you go to the middle tier, you will get just as good of a view.

Yelp
Tokyo Tower is a major historic landmark in Japan. While vacationing in Tokyo, we decided that this was in important destination to include on our itinerary. Skytree is newer and taller, but the tower was part of Japan's reconstruction, with lots of history and a beautiful Eiffel Tower type of architecture. Walking to Tokyo tower was easy even with large crowds everywhere watching the outside show and waiting to take the elevator up. We stood in a long line that moved pretty fast. We had tickets in little time and before we knew it, we were heading up the elevator to the main platform. There is a higher platform which cost a bit more money, but our group was more than satisfied to look out from the larger main platform, which is still pretty high up and provides a great 360 degree view of the city. The main platform has lots of space for walking around all of the windows to get some awesome views of the surrounding city. You are pretty much free to shop in the gift shop and leisurely enjoy the view. If you get there in the evening, you can capture some beautiful sunset pictures. A glass panel in the floor provides a window to see all the way to the ground below. Tokyo Tower is a wonderful way to take in the beauty of the city and create some great memories to share over and over. It's well worth the visit.

Yelp
OK I admit the Tower itself gets a 4-star as we only purchased tickets for the first observation deck area ($9 USD). It was pretty standard towery-thing looking out over the city and looking at the cut-out Skywindow, where you are not supposed to look if you are afraid of heights, but it was not scary at all. I think the CN Tower in Toronto scared me more. If we purchased the whole tower tour, it would have taken a lot longer, like several hours, and we would have to wait around for another hour just to take the tour, so we said 'forget it'. The decorations are fabulous in the tower - the decorator managed to combine Sakura cherry blossom season with the coming of Easter and the displays were super duper cute!! The Five Stars goes the the shopping itself, and I'm not talking the Tower stores inside the top part of the building, but the bottom of the building itself, like on the 1st floor, where there a TON of souvenir stuff and cool stuff and trinkets and gadgets and foodstuff to take home as gifts from Japan. They are all run independently and not by the Tokyo Tower itself, but it's fair to mention it here, as this is part of the Tokyo Tower experience. I actually found a pair of earrings I bought at Nara Deer Park for $27 USD that was $15 USD here...same exact earrings! I got ripped off at Nara! Next time you need to buy some affordable, nice quality stuff, make a trip out here just to shop. You won't need to pay admission if you're just shopping on the first floor. You'll probably want to stay a few hours, it's that much fun!

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday and there was no line to get in. We purchased our tickets through Klook, but I believe they are about the same price at the ticket window. We only did the Main Observatory, not the top of the Special Observatory. You have great views of Tokyo from here. The highlight for me was the Skywalk window. That was something. There is one gift shop on the Main Observatory and another one located when you exit the tower so you can buy souvenirs and such. There is a large food court on floor 2F. We didn't get a chance to eat there, but maybe next time we are there. If you walk a little further from Tokyo Tower, you can get great pictures of Tokyo Tower from Shiba park.

Yelp
The top was closed when I came here for New Year's 2018. So I was a bit disappointed that the top observation deck was closed and it was so crowded you could barely move. But the views were good. We got to see it lit up with 2018 on it for New Years so that was cool and I was happy they were open on New Years. Parking was horrible... probably better to take the train.

Yelp
Nice place to view the city from above. Not really my kind of thing but still enjoyed it. Top deck guests get a tour with a mobile audio device in English. The tour includes the history of the Tokyo tower creation. Top deck visitors get a free picture souvenir. There is a shopping and dinning floor where you can buy souvenirs. Both general deck and top deck are covered and indoors. You can see the all the major neighborhoods in Tokyo from the 4 different directions of the tower. I suggest you eat elsewhere as the food in the tower is really nothing to brag about and there are several way better options outside near by. Sky floor is creepy but worth seeing.

Yelp
I made it a mission to try and visit an observation tower in every city that I went to when I was in Japan. I love city view photos! This was a pretty cool visit and if I remember correctly, it was pretty cheap to go up too. I wasn't able to go to the very top though since it was under construction. I went around sunset so I could see the evening and night views. The tower from the ground was such a beauty! It reminded me a bit of the Eiffel Tower. Tokyo Tower is heavily themed around the anime One Piece so there's like One Piece cafes, shops, and a bunch of stuff within the tower!
