Toll House Inn

Food: we ate in the Toll House for our evening meal and I can recommend. Food was good with seasonal options also. Service was very good even though the restaurant was very busy. Breakfast was lovely. Very good buffet catered for all types of eaters with a hot menu also. Could recommend the full English. Location was excellent for town centre and walking down the canal. Rooms although on the small side had everything you needed. Bathroom could've been slightly larger as struggled to close the door when sat on the loo. We did have very very noisy neighbours in room26. The noise didnt bother us early doors however when they were playing very loud rap music until almost 3 in the morning didnt get much sleep. Not the hotels fault.

Exceptional, from service, food, atmosphere, room all spot on. Room was beautiful, coffee machine with pods a lovely luxury extra. Comfy bed and pillow's. Now this is where The Toll House excelled the staff are exceptional especially the manager and Chloe I think her name was. (Supervisor with waist coat) I used to work in a Michelin Star hotel. I felt like I was in one 😍. That's how good it was. My only slight negative is wine by glass is expensive £13.20 😲. The food was amazing so was the breakfast. Would def stay again and request room 17. Thanks for a delightful stay.

Great hotel, clean warm and comfortable rooms with a welcome chocolate treat! Good coffee machine. Excellent bathroom with lovely shower. The car park across the road is very handy but does incur an additional charge. The hotel bar is welcoming and has a good selection of beers. Breakfast is super and shouldn’t be missed.

We stated recently and had a wonderful nights stay. The main pub area has been recently renovated and is fantastic. We ate a 3 course evening meal and breakfast too, all was lovely, but the steak and ale pie, as well as the mascarpone cream on the pancakes were stunning! The staff are attentive but not intrusive, friendly and helpful. I love that they have board games available for visitors to use. The room was well heated for when we arrived, clean and spacious, with a large TV, coffee/tea facilities and free WIFI (what more could you need). For being a main busy street there was no noise. This was our second time visiting and we will be back again!

This place is a perfect location for the city centre. Its not a 5 star hotel but it doesn't need to be because they do the essential things well and the staff are all delightful. Food is also very good. Overall I would always recommend The Toll House for its excellent service and great value for money. Well done to you all!

Lovely place this with lots of original fixtures and fittings. With a great selection of drinks you won't be disappointed. We didn't eat, but all the food around we saw being served looked really nice. Can't wait to come back and try the food, I can imagine the hotel rooms also look great too. The staff were nice and friendly and really efficient at getting everyone served.

Quite simply outstanding! A short (one night) but wonderful stay. The room was lovely and the food amazing (and excellent value) but it was the staff that stood out for us - friendly and always willing to to go the extra mile. Shout out for Jeanie who served us at dinner - excellent service and delightful conversations.

I've been to the restaurant here a couple of times on visits to Lancaster & always liked it. Unfortunately this time the acoustics just weren't working for our table. We were in the middle of other tables which was not a problem until the band started in the bar. They were good but even though we were at the far end of the restaurant we could hear them & everyone in that area had to raise their voices to be heard & we couldn't hear each other on our table. Unfortunately one of the meals was incorrect, it was sorted quickly & apologised for but meant that we weren't eating together. Great food & friendly service but not suitable for our family catch up evening.
