Tolle Knolle

Nice restaurant with a focus on potatoes. Every menu item has something with potatoes, i like that twist a lot. Food tasted great, fresh and with good ingredients! The staff is friendly, helpful and fast. The waiter even stepped through the tab with me, that's great! The restaurant filled up quickly, so it is a very good sign for the quality here ;) The atmosphere is functional and modern.

We booked based a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. The place was full, the service a bit slower, but not a big deal. The food was great and on our tables within maybe 10 or 15 minutes, quite fast and delicious, I would love to come back!

The food here is just absurdly heavy. Maybe after a bad breakup, this is the perfect venue for self-indulgent comfort food. Otherwise, it is a completely indigestible saltfest - expect to skip the next meal. However gloopy and bland the menu may be, Tolle Knolle was the only restaurant we found which clearly shows each dish's allergens. Tolle Knolle is a nod to the potato: every dish celebrates that one ingredient in some way. The "potato pizza" has a perfectly thin, crispy base but flavourless and exceedingly salty toppings. The team is lovely: personable, professional and prompt. That's especially admirable because they are run off their feet.

Lively and popular restaurant that serve dishes around the theme of potatoes. We ordered a green salad as a starter, and thereafter, my wife took baked potatoes, and I took a dish of vegetables and a backed potatoes. The portions are generous, and the food tasted good.

Maybe our expectation were a bit high after reading previous reviews. Service was friendly and the food was ok. The food came out pretty fast which is an indication that things are prepared well in advance and not cooked fresh. We had to wait at least 20 minutes to pay the bill and that is after asking for it several times. If you are a non smoker you can't sit outside of any European restaurant if you want to avoid cigarette smoke.

Surprisingly good. We enjoyed every single dish we ordered. Everything was great and super friendly waitress.

Very good food. The outside seating is wonderful except we had yellow jackets constantly buzzing around us and getting in our food. Other wise, a great Sunday morning lunch.

Had a nice generous Nordic plate with an oven baked potato, sour cream and shrimps in a tasty sauce. The sauce wasn't heavy and creamy at all, it was more a mediterranean flavourful light sauce that connected elegantly with the sour cream of the potato. All in all a happy combination. Good coffee and friendly service, too.

A must, and always packed. Almost too good - an institution for the locals, so make sure to have a reservation. Dishes reflect the seasons. Pizza astonishingly great. Try their special take on the classic Schwarzwald cake! Large selection of local wines.

We had the baked potato with shrimp and the potato pizza with tuna and onion. The food was very tasty but shortly after our visit both my wife and I reacted to the food. We often have this problem with food in North America but this is the first time we've experienced it in a European restaurant, which is probably indicative of some pesticide or other impurity in the food. Unfortunately, the service was also poor. We waited some time for someone to acknowledge us and nearly 20 minutes after we finished our food before being asked if we wanted coffee. After declining the coffee we continued to wait for the cheque until I finally gave up and went inside to pay.

My reviews are simple and to the point. This place is great. There where three plates ordered in our group. Potato pancakes with mushrooms, the salmon lox with potato pancakes, and the pork medallions. All three of these where very well prepared and all three people noted how great they tasted. The pricing is ridiculously fair. The dinning room is very neat and clean. The wait staff professional and prompt. Bottom line. Go. Great all around.

I agree with all of the wonderful things everyone has already said. Make a reservation so you will not be left out. Potatoes in many versions come with your meal. You decide. We had a potato soup, very light. Weiner Schnitzel, with perfectly cooked vegetables (carrots, broccoli, parsnips), and baked potato with the most delicious sour cream. We also had another veal dish, also excellent, served with the best potato gratin. Excellent service, attractive modern environment.

Great restaurant with a variety of dishes. Always tried a different meal and was impressed.
