For those experienced wine seekers who desire a specific quality to please their palate, Tolosa sets the bar high in the SLO Appalachian.

Overall this was a good experience but quite pricey. The ambience is great out here, surrounded by vineyards with hills in the distance. The planes constantly landing nearby may be interesting or disturbing depending on the person. Service was great. The wine itself was quite good too. A focus on Pinot and Chardonnay and there’s some good quality here. The pricing is pretty high, for both the tastings and wine. The charcuterie board is very basic and overpriced. Overall I felt like I could get similar wine elsewhere for cheaper. Since this place is owned by Alpha Omega from Napa I think the pricing is similar to a Napa winery.

Google
Very disappointed with this wine tasting experience. We showed up at 5 pm the greeter seemed like he did not have the energy or time for us. Our pourer was dry and rude and did not even tell us much about the winery or each wine. We tasted two Chardonnays and 3 reds don’t even remember they all tasted bad plus we had barely enough taste to wet my plate. Tasting cost $45 each and to wavy that cost you had buy two bottles cost was (45 -75 a bottle). They need to rethink the way they want to portray the brand of Tolosa. Very disappointed with this tasting will not be recommending this place to anyone and would have given it 0 stars if I could.

Google
Hands down one of the best wineries, especially if you're a Pinot Noir fan. Elegant tasting room, and plenty of outdoor seating. You can even buy a bottle per couple if you want to chill out and bring a picnic. Right off 227, easy to find, in the Edna Valley. My pictures are from October, so dry late autumn, but this is a gorgeous place and my family has a membership for good reason. I biked here on the trail, but there are many ways to get there.

Google
2nd visit and still like their wine. Good wine, viognier was perfect. We discovered this vineyard just driving by. Our wine hostess was knowledgeable and friendly, and we actually joined the wine club! A great experience. Oh, and the view from the club members room is to die for! Become a member, then you get the real nice treatment.

Google
Our second tasting here was enjoyable. We had someone who was able to talk about the wines and processes of making each one and answered our questions! It ooks like a great venu for larger outdoor seated groups. Be prepared to sit outdoors or stand inside.. I'm glad we went!

Google
My parents are members here so I have been here many times for wine tasting and to do pick ups for them. The location is beautiful, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and we love their wines.

Google
The only winery with a free j1772 (ev charger) which is a plus, but was occupied when I arrived by a hybrid that had completed charging. Beautiful atmosphere, but background music detracts from the pleasant sounds of planes on final approach to SLO regional. Delicious Pinot noir, and I will definitely return.

Yelp
Always a fun time tasting fabulous wine at Tolossa. Beautiful ambience, friendly staff and of course the wine is top notch !

Lisa C.

Yelp
Beautiful location surrounded by vines and enchanting grasses... lovely young man greeted us and if only he was our attendant... we bought 2 high priced tasting s and a snack... was never offered water until we actually ordered a chargeable bottle...reserved all ahead of time... nice shaded table and watched planes coming in and grapes being brought in for processing... unfortunately the elderly gentleman who was assigned to us was a little low in energy and not very informative unless pressed about the wines or the vineyard... he was kind but always seemed eager to leave the table... the young man who greeted us is a gem in the rough... hope someone has a good eye for that quality... still would recommend if you enjoy chards and pinots... overall enjoyable

Yelp
One of my favorite wineries. Gone are the days of $5 college tasting fees 20 years ago. Great outdoor areas and staff.

Yelp
Tolosa is awesome! This winery is located in the heart of beautiful Edna Valley, surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards. Alex, the concierge, was so helpful and friendly. He texted us with a friendly tip to bring jackets as outside was cold, which is was incredibly nice. Dalton was a fantastic wine steward to the group and so knowledgeable and gracious. I highly recommend visiting Tolosa when you're in the Central Coast!

Yelp
Several Flights to choose from: 1772 Flight and Perinet Flight: $45/person for 4-5 pours (fee waived with two bottle purchase). Library Flight $60, and Single Vineyard Flight $70. Cheese and Charcuterie plate $25. Beautiful property with a stunning indoor tasting area, as well as a very large outdoor patio. The production facility is quite large. The patio is directly under the final approach to SLO airport, which is kind of cool, but also disruptive to conversations. Kim poured for us and was friendly and informative regarding the wine selections. Our group of nine shared several of the various tasting flights (see above) and for the most part, found their wines to be well made. I thought that the tasting and bottle prices were a little on the expensive side (retail $48 - $76+). Unfortunately, we didn't take any wine with us. Overall, a nice property and good service. I would recommend you give them a visit and see for yourself.

Yelp
Tolosa is such a beautiful winery. We have been members of their wine club for several years now and the selections they picked for us are perfect at holiday time to serve with meals. We also love to go to the events that they have we just went to one where they have you in a beautiful room with a gorgeous view and there's also an outdoor location for tastings and the service is fantastic. It's nice to have a wine you can rely on that you know is good quality, especially for special occasions.

Kim J.

Yelp
We love Tolosa winery! The wines are delicious and the staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We just attended the Chocolates and Wine Pairings on Saturday. Luke was fantastic and we had a lovely time in the scenic lounge.

Stacy S.

Yelp
I bring visitors here regularly either on the to or from the airport and they always have great service and lovely wines.

K B.

Yelp
Great wine selection and attentive service. Perfect Sunday stop! Will return when in the area again.

Vicki E.

Yelp
We love visiting Tolosa for a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting in a beautiful venue with some of the best wines in the county. This is our go-to winery whenever we have visitors!

Mo O.

Yelp
Beautiful patio views, delicious wine and great service- I particularly appreciated how they offered to move the umbrella to give shade/sun to guests as requested. The food could use some improvement. The charcuterie came in a plastic Tupperware and was pretty small for the price.

Kim M.

Yelp
Great service and good wine. Outdoor seating is so nice, especially on a sunny day. We enjoyed the tasting.

Regina C.

Yelp
Was delighted to go to Tolosa Winery to do some wine tastings with a couple friends! We did the 1772 and the library tasting. We enjoyed the whole experience! I wished they had more white wine available but the pinots were also very nice and refreshing. A very nice experience, likely to go again!

Hillary B.

Yelp
Our foursome thoroughly enjoyed our visit, even though one of us could only enjoy the ambience (and food). We came on a Marriott Vespera Resort package that allowed us to be "wine club members for a day." We kind of expected that free would mean "bottom of the barrel" but it was top notch all the way. The grounds are beautiful and the airplanes just added excitement. Being able to sit outside at a table and enjoy delicious charcuterie with our wine was so much better than cramming into a space at a bar with a bowl of pretzels. 12/17 was an unusually warm and sunny day, but we were the only ones there at 1:30 on a weekday. Service was great, not rushed or slow, with great explanations for us novices to the Edna Valley wine scene. Almost every wine we tasted we loved, and we went home with two of them. We will be back!

Jennie E.

Yelp
Beautiful Vineyard with an amazing staff. Their tasting room looks out to the wine prices and has a relaxing warm tone. The outside area looks out into the vineyard with a beautiful view of vines and hills. You can join their club at different levels which provides free tastings. Your club purchases can be delivered (an 18 year old HAS to be there for the delivery) or you can pick them up which give you an opportunity to view the beautiful winery. The wine is phenomenal!

Joanna H.

Yelp
This was my favorite wine tasting experience on my most recent trip to SLO. The views are gorgeous and I love how you can see planes fly from your table (any table outside). The service was decently attentive and not overbearing. We enjoyed their Pinots and took home two bottles of the 1772 Pinot noir. One wine tasting fee is waived for every 2 bottle purchase. Their wines are on the pricier side compared to others within the area but well worth it. Also, they have two Tesla destination chargers here which is awesome. We were lucky that there was an open spot when we came. I'd definitely come back next time!

Bethany B.

Yelp
Our friends took us here. The wine was so good. I'm not usually a Chardonnay drinker. But this was the best I've ever had. We sat outside the weather was perfect. The views are amazing. The service was outstanding. Can't wait to go back.

Raine R.

Yelp
It is always fun to have newer graduates from the viticulture school at Cal Poly take care of us. Kate was outstanding and so pleasant. She did a great job presenting the wine and making it fun.. Of course, it's hard to beat Tolosa wine!

Kriste M.

Yelp
Beautiful winery with delicious options in the varietals they offer. Excellent Rose, amazing selection of Pinot Noir. We had Mason as our wine host. He was friendly and knowledgeable, we will be back!

Patricia F.

Yelp
It is always a pleasure to visit Tolosa Winery! The atmosphere is relaxing and the views are amazing. It is also exciting to see an occasional large plane up close as it flies near by. The staff and service are outstanding. The outside patio accommodates dogs and you can order charcuterie to complement your tasting. The wine is good too . The selection is quite exceptional.

Drnanjo M.

Yelp
I opened a bottle of your 2008 Syrah that I had in my possession for over a decade. It was excellent. I live far away but hope to visit you in the future to purchase a few more bottles.

Sangita M.

Yelp
My husband I stopped at Tolosa for an impromptu tasting. We love all their wines! Great service with Kim, she explained the different types of wines and enjoyed our conversation. We also met a young man named Luke who is doing his masters at Cal Poly. He was very personable and educated on the wines too. The tasting room and outdoor area is lovely. This was our 2nd visit to Tolosa and can't wait to go back! We joined their premier wine club membership too!! Thank you for a great afternoon!

David M.

Yelp
We had a wonderful afternoon sampling wine yesterday! I got there early for my reservation! But your staff had no problem accommodating my party of 4. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and the delicious wines! Our server was very knowledgeable, pleasant and very attentive! Thank you Tolosa and staff

Cameron R.

Yelp
So much fun enjoying the wine tasting and what can I say, it was that much fun that I joined the winery club. ‍. I felt a tad boogie at this winery, not my normal place to attend but it was awesome!!! Love, love, love!

Benoy S.

Yelp
Good selection of wine, friendly and knowledgeable service, and dog friendly. Relaxing outdoor atmosphere with positive vibes. I was just passing through town, but would highly recommend if you are in the area. DISCLAIMER: My average review score 3.44 when I made this review--(take with a grain of salt) (I rely on Yelp to go to places with good reviews, may account for the higher average)

Debbie C.

Yelp
Amazing afternoon enjoying wine and chocolates with our favorite server Kim Sabella. Always a fun time in a beautiful setting.

Elaine S.

Yelp
Barrel Bash 2024 did not disappoint. Food , vino , music and ambience excellent!!!! We love Tolosa and their staff who are attentive and accommodating!

Harvir H.

Yelp
Went here a couple years ago for my graduation weekend. Brought my out of town friends and we absolutely loved it. Great atmosphere and our server was super knowledgeable and personable. There wasn't a wine that blew us away but the wine here was solid.

Raju M.

Yelp
Amazing Pinots and Chardonnay wines. Sister winery in Saint Helena is well known for beautiful Cabs. This place is equally fantastic for lighter reds and whites. Had to join the membership! By the way, Kim was great!

Paschelle W.

Yelp
The wine was good, but the customer service was just okay. There were only 2 ppl in the tasting room and I was told they would have to see if they could accommodate me, I'm sure they were checking to see who wanted to serve me. I mentioned I'm from the Bay Area I visit Napa often so I'm thinking I'm comparing the two. Normally in Napa when you purchase a membership or wine your tasting fee is waved. Not here I did purchase some Sauvignon Blanc that was amazing. Not sure if I'll be back if I'll just pick up a bottle or two.

Catherine Z.

Yelp
Wonderful wine selection for tasting. Kim was an excellent source of knowledge regarding the wines and vineyards. Beautiful views and friendly people

CJ J.

Yelp
Pretty winery, wine really good. Fairly high price point. No food selection..even though we preordered a cheese plate they had ran out.

Stevi B.

Yelp
Called earlier to make a last minute reservation for 1. When I arrived the hostess confirmed that they were in fact able to take me for a tasting, which confused me a bit, as that's what I made the appointment for (but it could have been a simple miscommunication)... Though had me question the start to the experience. Once seated, I was started with a glass of 1772 Sauvignon, which to me (bear in mind my "uneducated" palate for those of you hard core wine connoisseurs), that had a Chardonnay/oaked feel to it, which I actually enjoyed quite a bit. It was a good way to start the tasting. Next up was the Pure Chardonnay. Now... I'm a sucker for a buttery/oaked Chardonnay ("Cougar Juice" apparently...) but this was quite opposite of that. No oak... no butter... but also not an overwhelming acidity. It had a nice fruit balance that I enjoyed. On the nose, to me, was almost like a lychee or stone fruit (still trying to differentiate)? I could never be a sommelier but if you're reading my review... this is what you're going to get! The 1772 Chardonnay, while aged a bit in oak barrels, had just the lightest hint of butter and balanced with a Citric feel. I want to say my next pour was the Stone Lion Chard? We deviated a bit from the tasting menu... but I'm all for it! It accurate, this is the hint of buttery that I most enjoy in a Chardonnay. This one was right up my alley. The Pacific Wind Pinot... I have no idea how to describe it, but I can say I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is something I would keep in my wine fridge. Bottom line... I'm a big fan of their Pinot. Got distracted by work calls so I can't quite detail my tasting experiences that remained, but I would certainly revisit this location for their Pinots alone.

Yelp
Tolosa is my favorite winery, tasting experience and makes the most beautiful wines. We sat outside and had a gorgeous view of the vineyards and hills. Kim Schisler poured our wines and was extremely knowledgeable about each wine. Her customer oriented approach was exemplary and she has the most warm and welcoming personality. Ask for Kim and you will have the best winery experience tasting the most amazing wines.

Shannon A.

Yelp
Our server Kim was amazing! We loved the wines, especially the Pinot Noirs, and the cheese plate was a lovely accompaniment, delish! Such a beautiful space outdoors, we really enjoyed our tasting, the view, and watching the planes come in!

Bruce B.

Yelp
We used to live in SLO and we had to come back to the Best winery and do a tasting. A great service staff that explains everything and that are very welcoming. You can't go to a better winery in Edna Valley.

Bhavisha P.

Yelp
Opening the door from the car to head inside for our reservation, all we smelled was a disgusting sewer cow paddy gust. And it did not get better. But since they would not or could not(not sure) open up the inside for tastings we had to sit outside and get gusts so awful smells every few minutes the wind changed. The wine was good, the server was very friendly and very accommodating, and the tasting was pricey. If we are paying $35 a tasting I want to enjoy it and I didn't bc the smell made me sick. Seemed the locals weren't bothered by the smell and chalked it up to a dirty pond nearby, idk.

Lee W.

Yelp
Great setting to taste a fabulous selection of wines. Loved the Spanish varietals, especially the Albariño.

Wayne M.

Yelp
Incredible service and excellent wines. Pinot and Chard for people who love Burgundies. Tolosa could write a book and teach classes on great customer service. Shout out especially to Kim Schisler for an extraordinary job.

Linnea T.

Yelp
Amazing wine and beautiful outdoor seating. I have visited Tolosa over a dozen times and always makes for a great afternoon tasting. I personally enjoy the 1772 flight but the Perinet is great for those who like reds.

Sarah U.

Yelp
Truly an amazing night with the moonshiner collective concert. Great wine, great music, great company! $125 as a member to this event gets you a blanket for you and up to 3 guests, a bottle of wine (Chardonnay or pinot noir), charcuterie plate, bag of crackers, 4 stemless plastic wine glasses, and a trash bag all in a wine carrying bag. Bring your own chairs or you can sit on the blanket they provide. Parking was in the lower employee lot and restrooms were 2 portapottys in that parking lot. A bit of a trek in uneven terrain at night so bring a flash flight!

Jessica D.

Yelp
Tolosa is well known for being posh, but snooty. I've been a member for three years because it's close to where I live and, in the past, they tended to treat their members well. However, I've now had more snobbish experiences than friendly ones. Something's changed since their post-COVID reopening and it's only been condescending/ pretentious experiences for me. I've waited to post this because I get it, I've worked in food service and there are those days. But wow, even when I come in with one friend, when it's slow, we keep to ourselves, we buy wine, and they are somehow short with us and act annoyed we're there. * If you are over 55 and like middle-of-the-road wine, with good views, you've found your spot! * If you're looking for a positive vibe, nicer people, less expensive tastings, new decor, better wine, just go down the street! There are a bunch of great, welcoming wineries everyone loves.

Gus G.

Yelp
Great location and atmosphere! If you're a Pinot lover this place is your spot. They have some pretty good Cabs as well. The service is fantastic. Ask for Mike he was awesome!

Andrea T.

Yelp
I have been here many times now, and am never disappointed by the wines or the ambiance. We are members, so we get 4 free tastings with each visit. The service is top notch and we often get to try wines not on the tasting list. I would highly recommend getting a membership here if you love wine tasting!

M. E. C.

Yelp
Gosh, friends, I cannot recommend Tolosa enough! The service is amazing, you cannot beat the view, and don't even get me started on the wines!! Kim gave my partner and I phenomenal service today on the patio for his first visit, and Karl, of course, spoiled my besties and I in the Primera Room on Saturday. And!!! They are SIP certified, which is huge for me.

Monica C.

Yelp
Been here a couple times before. This past June when we came for my best friend's birthday, it was awesome. But this visit today was completely crazy. We had a server named Bruce. He was cocky, rude & disrespectful. We had reservations, but could care a less. We asked him for a table with lots of shade, cuz one of us had medical issues. He said "well it's a sunny day". Two of our party caught him drinking wine behind the bar; while we waited patiently for him to bring us each flight. He even skipped a flight. So, we get home and find he has charged our friends for all 5 flights, even though we already paid for our two flights. The other two servers were awesome! The gal served us in June and we loved her. The younger kid was impressive as well. This guy ruined our anniversary trip

Lisa F.

Yelp
Beautiful grounds, delicious wine and such friendly, welcoming staff! We really enjoyed the relaxed leisurely pace of our day as we experienced all Tolosa has to offer and definitely plan to come back next time we visit the Central Coast!

Kristie G.

Yelp
Service is impeccable, love this spot for a nice glass of vino! It's fun to watch the planes fly by so close too!

Craig J.

Yelp
Primera! Wines are good. Pinots, etc. Our friends took us to the Primera room and it was cool. Wine club is 27 MFing bottles per year. We didn't join the club but our friends did. Service was excellent. Vibe was excellent. Ambiance was nice. Indoor and outdoor areas are enjoyable and complement the wine. 2021 Apex seemed like the winner that day. Our host, Karl (Carl?), was amenable to opening other wines to compare which was cool. I left happy. Didn't join a wine club, our friends dropped $2500 and comped us, and charged my car for free. $$$$$$$$$$$
