Worst customer service I have seen in some time. We were there to get some things, as well as new BBQ fuel. While in line to get checked out, the casher named Shcmika (Yes, that's spelled correctly) rudely stated we could not have the propane tank in the store. Fine, unloaded our other groceries, and then she again rudely barked that it had to go outside. I said on my way, finding a better attitude would be a good thing. She said attitude has nothing to do with it. I asked who would be there, and then she pointed to the person at Customer Service, and left my better half there to pay.
Went outside.....waited, waited, and waited. After a long time, my better half walked out without the groceries. She stated that Shcmika continued to be rude, than then stopped talking to her when no one was coming to assist on the fuel exchange.
Now, my bad on bringing the tank into the store, I get that. But there was NO reason to be treated that way when we didn't know. There were no tank signs on the door, etc. Before checking out, we also interacted with other employees who didn't say a thing about the tank in the cart. That does not excuse being rude to customers. Tom Thumb is not our favorite store, but it's been convenient. That ends today. Never going back. This woman needs to be retrained how to deal with customers, even if they make a mistake. Could have kindly informed us that was not right, without being completely rude, not just to me, but to the person who was completing the sale. Not only did they miss out on that, they are now out of our future shopping. Kroger and Sprouts from now on.
