"Dining in a Familiar Place Enter this restaurant and you will still be walking on Calçada Portuguesa (traditional Portuguese paving). You will feel like home in this typical and familiar Portuguese restaurant, offering good food and a good place to dine with friends, before you head to Bairro Alto for a drink. If you don’t like to wait for a table, try to arrive a bit before 8pm. My suggestion is Gambas à Guillo (garlic prawns) as an appetizer and tuna as the main dish."

We had some grilled fish, roasted chorizo, octopus salad and duck rice (dish of the day) - all were tasty and flavourful. The place had a cozy vibe, plus prices were on the reasonable side. No wonders why this place has received so many recognitions, which were proudly presented right on the small door :)

I visited this local restaurant twice during my stay in Lisbon, and both times were wonderful. The codfish and salmon were perfectly cooked and delicious. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I even met the same solo traveler both times, which made the experience feel even more personal. Highly recommend!

It is uphill climb getting to this place. However, the food is good. Had the salmon & the octopus dishes, the prawn dish and also the chicken soup. Food is hearty and good.

I ordered the pork steak like everyone else did and it was so so juicy!! However the platter felt a bit bland to me but that’s okay. One downside is it can get super busy and it takes forever to get serviced.

Unpretentious restaurant with good food and very fair prices. Friendly service too. Everything is really good. You can only sit inside, but it’s nice there.

Very nice fish, cheap house wine, nice relaxed vibes. Found this place unexpectedly but very happy we stopped in. The cod portion is HUGE! Also affordable! Particularly for in the area. Here is a pic of me with the fish spine 🐟

Google
Unassuming corner restaurant on a hilly section of Lisbon. We almost passed it by, despite looking for it because there isn't much signage visible. But my goodness, what a great experience it was! The hostess was super friendly and helpful, answering our many questions about the wines and food. We started out with a bread and olive board, which included butter and olive oil. There were toasted and non-toasted slices of very nice baguette, and the olives, while not large, were very tasty, as was the peppery olive oil. The cheese was fairly soft and mild and went so well with the bread and olives. I had the pork for the main, which was a very generous helping of tender pan-grilled pork, French fries and small green salad. I wasn't able to finish all of this, but partly because I wanted to try one of the desserts, which was a biscuit cake, drizzled with dark chocolate syrup. This was a nice way to finish the meal as it wasn't terribly sweet or heavy. We came away really enjoying the whole experience, and felt that we had a taste of honest, non-touristy food - just what we were looking for. Highly recommended

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise. Hard to find but then you're smack in the Bairro Alto and worth walking around before or after. It's a family owned place, no reservations, small inside but the food is amazing. We had grilled sole and it melts in your mouth. The owner waits on tables, and chats when she can. It fills up fast, opens at 7:30 (get there real early). The menu is extensive but stick with the fish since it's always fresh. Dessert menu is limited but fresh. Def try and have dinner here

Yelp
Family run business that's as popular with locals as with tourists. Speak with the the staff and you will be rewarded with insights about the menu and with homemade drinks. Good food and very reasonable prices!

Yelp
We heard a lot about this restaurant and were excited to check it out. The first night we went, there was an hour wait with people waiting outside on the street. We took this as a good sign and decided to come back the next night. We came a few minutes before they were scheduled to open and saw that other people too were waiting for the restaurant to open. Eating here is like eating at someone's house. It's a very no-frills restaurant that serves its food simply and authentically.

Yelp
A bit hard to find but worth the effort. Simple fare but delicious. Wine list is more than adequate and my random pick of a mid price red from Douro was very good. We shared the grilled robalo for 2, (sea bass), and the portion was ample, mild and tender. The staff helped with a taxi to get us back to the hotel. Dessert portions were ample also and delicious, save room!

Yelp
Food is superb - nothing too fancy, just fresh local produce. Each main comes with side of vegetables and potatoes or rice. Service is nothing special, but fast. If you fancy a quick and filling lunch, that is a place to go. Oh! And white wine (don't know if it was a house wine though) for 2€ a glass was extremely good!!

Yelp
Delicious food for a great value, but there was a little bit of a language barrier. The meals are very large and you do not need to order starters, but be warned that the fried croquettes they put down at the beginning of the meal cost 6 euros. All of their food is a bargain so we didn't mind too much but we did not feel that they were worth that much and they are kind of forced upon you so be bold. Also no tap water given. It is a traditional place though, so we were happy with the food and value over all.

Yelp
The food was good however we felt like we were a bother to them. The language barrier was difficult for us all. The place is simple and the price reasonable. My salmon was really good and my husbands chicken was very tasty.

Yelp
Really nice (portuguese) food with reasonable prices. The only downside is the usual long waiting queues (reservations aren't accepted), especially on Fridays and Saturdays.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service was fast and friendly. Have to get there when they open if not you'll have to wait a bit place is small. But it moves pretty good. Would recommend for everyone to try it.
