Tomate Taquería is hands down one of the best and most affordable restaurants in Guadalajara. The quality of the food is outstanding, and the prices are unbeatable for what you get. The service is truly incomparable—friendly, efficient, and attentive from start to finish. It’s no surprise that people are willing to line up and wait to eat here because it is absolutely worth it. Everything is consistently delicious, and the overall experience makes you want to come back again and again. If you’re in Guadalajara, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended.

The tacos al pastor and arrachera meat were the best meat we ever had anywhere in the US or Mexico and the best drinks too, Even grass fed/ quality meats in the US can’t match the texture and flavor. My wife and I ate twice here in a week and both times the meat/ meals were great. Advice; Ask your server what salsas go with each meat you’re eating or try one on each bite till it pears with it.

This place was super packed and rightfully so. A lot of locals were here and both the food and service were excellent. The amount of condiments you get is amazing and everything just tasted great. They also had unlimited tortillas, which were pillow soft and delicious. I definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area and hungry, you will leave full. My only small complaint is that they could give more avocado, maybe a whole one per order. OMG the lemon drink was amazing too! Overall, this place was fantastic. I felt sorry for the taco stand outside with no one in line 😂

Excelente! The food was so delicious and large portions. I left stuffed. The service was excellent. Everyone on staff is working hard and jumping in wherever needed. They were incredibly busy but it never felt like there wasn’t anyone to take care of you. Very friendly staff as well. Atmosphere was high energy and a bit loud but people were having a great time. Line out of the door when I left but they turn tables quick and the food comes out fast.

The line was long but moved quickly. They are running an amazing operation here. Quite impressive. The Arrachera was outstanding. The pastor was a bit dry. We were impressed with how our server Alan explained everything including the salsas & the menu items. This place is super popular & one location only. ALL THE SERVERS ARE “WOW”. They treat you like VIP. ALAN was our server and we give him 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️. Exceptional service.

Locals recommended this spot for dinner, and when we arrived, there was a huge line. We decided to wait and it was worth it! Great ambiance, the food was very good ,the meat was delicious, the drinks were a great bonus and the service was very friendly.

This place had good tacos and great service. It is very loud, but has a nice open air patio.

Chapultepec Sur in the vibrant Colonia Americana of Guadalajara, this restaurant delivers authentic Mexican cuisine with exceptional flavor and quality. We ordered the arrachera/pastor and bistec/chorizo, and every bite was perfection. The meats were tender, seasoned to perfection, and served with freshly made tortillas that were warm and soft. The table is stocked with a variety of delicious sauces that complement the dishes beautifully, catering to all flavor preferences. The service was quick and efficient, despite the popularity of the restaurant. While we had to wait about 15-20 minutes for a table, it was worth every second. The friendly staff were attentive, making sure we had everything we needed, and the restaurant was impeccably clean, including the restrooms. The atmosphere is another highlight. With lively music and a cheerful crowd, the place felt warm and inviting. It's clear that both locals and tourists love this spot, and the energy of the space adds to the dining experience. If you're in Guadalajara, this is a must-visit restaurant. The freshness, flavor, and service are unmatched, and I'll definitely make it a point to return on my next trip to Mexico. Fabulous. I arrived for a late lunch and was able to be seated immediately although the place was packed! Service was quick - I ordered a corona, 3 tacos al pastor, and a side of cebollas. The cebollas were good and the tacos were jam packed with meat. They have both corn and flour tacos which I always appreciate. I did like the open-air feel, but there were some flies and bees buzzing around as a result. One drowned in my salsa as a matter of fact. Not much Tomate can do about it though. Docking a star because I didn't particularly love any of the salsas and the prices are a bit high (35 pesos a taco) but imo the quality justifies it. Just not the cheapest lunch around. Bathrooms were clean and they take credit card.

Our Uber driver told us we HAD to go to Chapultepec because that was where all the night life was. We were just interested in the best tacos in Guadalajara. Turns out the best tacos are at La Tomate and it's on Chapultepec! Win Win. When I say the best tacos, I dont say it lightly. They serve you all the ingredients and sauces and tortillas separately. You get way more food this way rather than little tortillas already filled. And you can customize your taco and it is much easier to share. Which by the way, you can completely do with just one order. The three of us each ordered something and we had enough to stuff our faces and enough to enjoy the next day with some fried eggs. So yummy. They dont make a list and dont take reservations. You get in line which moves surprisingly quickly. No one jumps the line and everything is super organized. The service is amazing!! It's quick, professional, polite and attentive. They gave us extra tortillas with our left overs. I agree with our Uber driver. You HAVE to go to Chapultepec and you have to go to La Tomate

Amazing food, the server was fantastic. The best al pastor. Asked him for the extra crispy parts of the meat and he didn't disappoint. It feels like a back yard party here. All outside, tables all over the place.

Si te gusta la carne, ve por unos tacos al Tomate. Lots of meat options at this place with unlimited tortillas, and a variety of salsas to say yay! Loved the lemonade with fruit drink and they offer jamaica. Busy, but good service, open-air ambiance and clean bathrooms.

This place is excellent! The location is great on chapultepec. The food and drinks are so good had the "Zárape" which had chorizo, pastor, bistec, tocino, queso. Has great flavor with plenty of tortillas!

Great selection of tacos and beers in a friendly atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and speak very good English. Located at Colonia Americana area. I had the arrachera- meat and warm tortillas are served separately. It came with roasted onions, peppers and nopales - definitely a generous serving for one.

Tacos were average. Meat over cooked and the cheese was cold by the time we got the food. Flavor for el pastor was lacking.

Awesome place to get tacos. You order the type of meat and the portions you want: then at the table you make your own tacos with warm tortillas. Arrachera (imported) beef was the most delicious. Soft and tender. It's worth every penny. Al pastor was very flavorful too. The atmosphere is friendly but not formal. My family had a very good experience eating at this restaurant. Lastly, remember to order a small portion of grilled vegetables so you can make some delicious tacos. Enjoy!

Visiting from California and needed my taco fix but one problem. I've gone Vegan! No problemo at La Tomate. Some of my friends who live here recommended it and it did not disappoint. My vege-tacos were great with grilled onions, tomatoes, cactus, bell pepper, mushrooms and PINEAPPLE. That was a really nice touch! We got seated within 10 minutes and our waitress was great. There was vintage 80's videos playing on their TV screens and I loved it. My friends loaded up with pastor and carne, so everyone was happy. I love how late all the taco spots in Guadalajara stay open. It was socially distanced for those who want to be cautious and offered everyone hand sanitizer and a temp check as you walked in. I know some people won't like that but it didn't bother me at all. I'm just a Gringo from San Diego but I would recommend this spot for any traveler.

Delicious Italian food, wonderful service in a charming setting! The pasta al Nero was amazing and the calamari unique! The servers were super professional and simpaticos! Reasonably priced - compared to the crazy prices in many good restaurants in DC. We will definitely dine again at La Tomate, in the heart of Dupont.

One of our favorite meals in Guadalajara, hands down! We went back twice it was so good! Portions are large, and pricing is excellent. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious al pastor while visiting the area. Also available on Rappi if you're looking for a delivery option.

Great quick-service taco place, good for larger groups, very quick service. Their menu is fairly standardized which allows for them to serve a large volume of people. PS: the Mezcalita de Jamaica was a bomber cocktail - don't miss it!

This place was instantly superior to any of the copycats I have tried in the states. The food WAS INCREDIBLE. So much flavor and so much authenticity packed into every bite. The slices of pineapple in the pastor tacos were a great touch. All the salsas were delicious and the service amazing. Be warned, IT IS A LOT OF FOOD. Just wish I could've stuffed more into my face

The menu here is very heavily skewed towards meat. The one vegan option is a bunch of vegetables with melted cheese on it, honestly, it's something that I probably could've made as a middle schooler. While the staff are very friendly and the service is prompt, in my estimation, the food is not worth it. Unless of course you want meat with a side of meat then it is that the place to go.

The food here was exceptionally good. It's a very low cost meal and the cost for two of us was about $20US. It's a high traffic high volume high intensity restaurant but everything seems to work there and it's the number one restaurant that was close to our hotel.

After living here for a year, I was finally dragged to La Tomate. I had heard plenty about it and was curious to give their tacos a try. I personally feel that there are better tacos and better vibes, pretty much anywhere that is not on Chapultepec. The food was fine, the atmosphere was fine, the service was fine. Go for a fine experience.

Omg this taco place is freaking delicious! It's located right next to all the nightclubs and bars, perfect to grab a bite to eat before or after drinks.

Tacos are OK. What ruined it for me is the table dance video after video. I'm here with my whole family and it's so uncomfortable to be eating with screens on our faces with naked women dancing as if I'm in a late night bar... at 4:30 pm with no other kind of videos. I don't understand how management doesn't take families into consideration. Some one might say it's cultural... what's cultural is macho culture in which men might be enjoying that and women and children don't matter. I can find other tacos without having to sit in discomfort.

Fast and awesome service. The food was unbelievable. We had a group of 7 and we're seated and served within minutes. It the real deal if you're in Guadalajara.

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! We had a very large and very hungry//hangry group! Everyone left full!! The service was great, drinks were awesome & the food was amazing!! We plan on taking a group of our family members back to this place before the end of our trip!! Super clean...only bad thing is the music is a little too loud! Wow, what can I say about this place...It was packed non stop both times we came to eat here within our 5 days here in GDL for vacation. The asada was alright, really no flavor until you put all the fixings into it. But let me tell you about the pastor and chorizo!!! They were flavorful and delicious, so much goodness in eat bite. They had so many salsas to choose from and drinks!!! This is a must stop if you are ever in GDL, Mexico!!

Our first time here and we loved it! Clean, open and well spaced; we were seated upon arrival and our waiter greeted us right away. The plates to share with condiments and tortillas were a perfect lunch and we were brought extra tortillas without asking. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and reasonably priced and we found our lunch to be a relaxing experience. We'll come again and bring friends next time.

This was our first stop since getting off the plane. We were hungry, but still could not finish the Tomate Especial Grande between two people. This has almost every meat on the menu and unlimited corn tortillas recently made. My brother-in-law had the arrachera. Having a couple Vampiritos probably helped too. We slept well that evening.

Our group of three ate here twice during our vacation in GDL. The food was delicious. Recommend sharing if you are not a big eater.

These tacos are so delicious!!! By far my favorite el pastor tacos ever, the meat is so lean and tasty. I ordered a plate for sharing and they give you unlimited corn tortillas, the salsas are also delicious. The arrachera meat is so flavorful and tender. They have a wait, but well worth it.

My fav spot in GDL to eat tacos al pastor. The melted cheese with the al pastor meat is a deadly combo. I purchased an al pastor plate with cheese and the plate had a lot of meat. I also purchased a burrito, but it had mainly cheese inside. I would suggest to go for a plate or straight up tacos instead of the burrito. My mom ordered tacos al pastor.

Excellent place w very good food and generous portions. Get the sides of onions and whatever else you like w your tacos, as they are all grilled to perfection!

After seeing people doing huge lines to get in I went in to investigate, it was a huge disappointment. It has a lot grease and taste bad in my opinion, there are better places for tacos in Chapultepec. Presentation: 6/10 Quality: 6/10 Flavor: 7/10 Portion : 7/10 Price :6/10 Total : 32/50

Ordered Fortachon in my first visit to this place, and it was a delicious! "RICO" I WILL SURELY GO BACK WHILE I AM STILL IN TOWN VISITING! THE STAFFS ARE NICE THOUGH MOST OF THEM do not speak English and I only speak little Spanish , I think we communicated very well. The place and location is very nice.

Excelent tacos!! I really like to go! Very kind and very attentive with all of us. I always have to make the stop at those tacos!
