The Instagram Memorial of Anthony Bourdain

"A well-known gravesite in Paris that serves as a physical pilgrimage spot for fans, functioning as a tangible memorial where visitors pay their respects and find comfort; it is cited as an example of a lasting, visitable tombstone comparable to online shrines." - Tom Taylor

Re: James Douglas Morrison (Poet) Jim was a very complex and gifted individual. He consciously created a revolutionary public persona. But he lived long enough to regret it. He was both handsome and intelligent. In private, he was rather quiet and introverted in contrast to his rock star image. Jim subsequently became an alcoholic. But it permitted him to perform on stage, without being self-conscious. Jim used to walk on edges of buildings. But he had a bad fall prior to his departure to Paris, since he was coughing up blood. As for his death, he apparently purchased heroin in the Rock 'N' Roll Circus Club where he passed away as a consequence due to the combination of alcohol with heroin, which resulted in heart failure. Strange because he was strongly opposed to it since Pamela was using it on occasion. As for "The Lizard King" for the younger admirers, it's tongue-in-cheek. Jim in countless ways was an actor. Ironically, the idolatry that followed him right to his grave greatly contributed to his death. Jim and Pam are the Romeo and Juliet of pop music. They will remain forever young. (How many rock stars today read Camus, Hegel, Heidegger, Hume, Kierkegaard, Montaigne, Nietzsche, Plato, Rousseau, Sartre, Schopenhauer and Voltaire?)

Being a Doors fan and seeing pictures of this for so many years I couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit his grave while in Paris. So wish things had been different and he lived a long healthy life. Such talent gone to soon.

Jim is a Tennant among other famous composers like Chopin!

A relatively modest grave set amongst the spectacular tombs of so many others but clearly marked with photographs, objects, a protective fence and a tree wrapped in bubblegum. People keep moving the pin on Maps to the wrong side of the path and uploading images of completely different things which can cause some confusion but plan carefully with the correct details and site map and it's easy to find. The cemetery closed at 6pm.when we were there and all visitors are ushered out to the sounds of ringing bells, check the opening times before you go as there's so many amazing things to see here.

Located in division 6, Jim Morrison's grave is very well visited even after more than 50 years of being gone (1971). Area is fenced off to keep people from getting too close.

It was nice to make my personal pilgrimage to see the Lizard King Jim Morrison’s grave site. While visiting there were other fans who also were talking about his gravesite and it was nice to see artwork that people have made to pay their respects to him. I was happy to have seen it.

Once in a lifetime trip to see his final resting place. My hotel was 20mins away so it was now or never. I must admit that the graveyard needs a month to explore, I've seen a few, but this is the size of a small town! Back to his grave, small un assuming, fenced off but you can see his grave. A very nice adventure to pay my respects.

Been to Paris a couple of times but couldn't find the time to visit the Lizard King. Finally found some hours to pay respect and visit. Condition is in a very sad state with barricaded partition and obvious vandalized conditions, hope the placed can be cleaned?
