Recently reopened for the end of the summer season and well worth a trip.
Currently run by incredibly helpful friendly volunteers and the visitors centre being upgraded as we visited. The walk wasn’t too bad at all, we had a friend with limited mobility and he managed the walk as there were no particularly steep parts which was amazing. He could even get into the tomb as there was a trolley to allow easier access.
The views were fantastic on the walk and the tomb itself was interesting - recommend you read about it first to understand the fascinating context and finds made here. Very happy this is open again.

A great place to visit. The walk to the tomb gives you some excellent views of the cliffs and ocean. Plus, the chance to spot a few seals in one of the small covers.
Good to see it has reopened and plans for the future.
Friendly and helpful volunteer staff.

Only open till mid october but so glad it has re-opened! The walk is great, the tomb is exceptional and the history within the centre is great. Saw some grey seals as well in the lower bay.

Very interesting Historic site, but this is not an ideal day out with Kids (especially in October). There is a long walk from the Visitor centre to the Tomb itself, longer than the signs make you believe. The staff are very knowledgeable and engaging, and there are beautiful views in all directions.

A worthwhile visit here with two young children. The visitor centre had three distinct rooms with talks given on different eras. Nice to get hands on with some of the artefacts as well.
The actual tomb itself is a short walk away and manageable for young children.

If you know you like this kind of history then you won't regret coming along to see this amazing experience going back in time.
The experience starts with a small talk on the tomb itself with a show case of a multitude of artefacts found within the tomb and the surrounding area like tools, jewellery and human remains.
There is also a brief talk on a bronze age site that was also uncovered. After the talks you can then walk out to meet the sites in person.
The bronze age site comes first with the tomb of eagles right down at the sea.
I loved it....

Yelp
Very interesting archeological site and the visitor centre has been very carefully put together and provides excellent information at just the right level for visitors of all ages.
The tomb itself is quite small, but fascinating. The cliff walk is spectacular with great geological formations. The bronze age mound needs a bit more development - make sure you see it on way out to be able to enjoy cliff walk on way back.
What could be better? Well I am slightly worried it will not withstand hundreds of visitors per day, a more robust surface for the trolley would be good and perhaps some wood and animal skins to cover the concrete roof on the inside to make it more authentic.
On the other hand, the two senior school students working in the visitor's center could not have been more polite and helpful. The coffee machine is great and reasonably priced and some nice gifts.

Yelp
A really interesting site. There's a visitor centre situated on the farm (family owned, not in the care of any charity or government body), then you walk out along a farm track to the 'shamrock house' and then out and along the cliffs (spectacular views) to the tomb itself. There's a narrow passageway to get in - you can put on knee pads (provided) and crawl or you can slide on the wee trolley! Great fun! It's well worth going inside - and it's bigger than you'd expect - you can stand up quite comfortably. Make sure you look into all the 'chambers' in the tomb - I'll not spoil the surprise by telling you what you'll miss if you don't
