Great museum and definitely worth a visit. Interesting artifacts and virtual reconstructions of the town.

Dom was really friendly with lots of information about what to do and on local history! She was also great with my dog who was also allowed in to enjoy the museum!

Such an informative place, luckily had a chance to be part of star gazing with an Amateur gentleman who gave us a detailed walkthrough on sky. Such a brilliant experience, would recommend to find days to be part of the star gazing. It will be remembered as one in life time experience.

Highly recommend this as a 1st stop in Tomintoul. Great information on request and for only £5 for the historical info about the area as well as a VR experience. They also have a taxidermy of a mole. 5/5

Plenty of literature and leaflets about the area and further afield, also a very helpful and knowledgeable staff who were able to advise on walking locally. The museum was surprisingly good, professionally presented with lots of information and artifacts about many aspects of the local area. The displayed objects had explanatory notes and there was a great attempt to provide interesting information for children. All in all a much better museum than many l have been to and free although donations are encouraged.

We found ourselves stranded due to our car breaking down a couple of mile up the road. The gentleman working here looked after us and helped us until we got sorted with a taxi back to where we were staying. We had been stuck for 5 hours and were so grateful for his help and hospitality after such a bad day and lack of help from the AA. He restored our faith in humanity! Thank you!! We will be back one day to visit the centre under less stressful circumstances :)

Newly refurbished and just re opened. You walk in and are greeted by pleasant volunteers and staff. The displays on the history of the village and the area are fantastic, and I am sure this will be used and appreciated by many people passing through the doors. Staff were helpful with providing information on local walks for our family and Dog.

Fascinating history of Tomintoul. Staff are very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable of local history and Scottish attractions. The venue was extremely clean and I felt safe. The presentation of historic artifacts available tell and extordanary story of local people and trades, including the background of whisky smuggling.
