"While several spots can justifiably claim to serve up the best burger in Berlin (the Bird, Burgermeister, Shiso Burger), there is something effortlessly simple and exquisitely tasty about Tommi’s version that makes it particularly good. The limited menu, handwritten on signs above and to the side of the counter, basically consists of the extra toppings (bacon, avocado, cheese) or sides (fries) you may want with your handmade patty of organic Scottish beef. The burger is flame-grilled and placed between a soft, freshly baked bun filled with crunchy lettuce, tomatoes, and other delicious additions. Despite the American-influenced, casual shacklike interior, this place is actually run by an Icelandic family that has similar outlets in London , Copenhagen , and Reykjavík."

Service: friendly, fast and English friendly Food: The burgers were very good. Buns were toasted and the bread was good. The patty was a good size, not overcooked and juicy, but could've used more salt or seasoning. I ordered the special of the month which included sujuk and the size of the slices was very good. The lettuce was fresh, the cheese was nice and melted. Overall the harmony between burger components quantity and flavors was nice and made for a delicious burger. The size was good as well The fries were made fresh and delicious, also could've used a little more salt. The price was good and appropriate for the quality of the food. Atmosphere: The decor and music were very cool, and gave a nice vibe. Overall a good experience and would recommend

Google
An amazing burger spot! The restaurant is spotless, the staff are incredibly kind, and the atmosphere is elevated with great music playing in the background. The burgers are made with high-quality meat that’s packed with flavor. They also offer an impressive variety of sauces with unlimited use—perfect for every taste! To top it all off, their milkshakes are absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommend this place for a top-tier burger experience!

I was in love with this burger when I tasted in Copenhagen. It’s so nice to see them in Berlin too. However, Copenhagen is still my favourite, maybe they have a different supplier for the meat. The burger was overall very good, patty was medium/well cooked and very juicy. It was however very unsalted. The fries has to be ordered, they are delicious. And the choice of sauces they offer is very generous. Highl recommended.

Google
Honestly. And I know this is often easily thrown out as a thing. But this is absolutely 100% THE best burger I've ever had. I'm not kidding. It is that good. The smoke and flavour of the meat is sensational. Please folks. Come here. It's a cool vibe place, nice hangout slot and that meat!!! Those sweet potato fries. Incredible. (Also a top tip. Order the Tommi's sauce)

Google
After years of coming here, I can safely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a classic simple burger experience. Juicy meat and the fries are one of the best I’ve ever had ( read better version of the legendary McDonalds fry ). Do yourself a favor and get the chicken burger that they serve, I think it’s the best thing on the menu!

Google
The burger patty itself was not really as tasty as it looked, the meat had too many large chunks of fat that were very chewy. I thought this place would be more like a home-made burger joint but it turned out not as expected unfortunately, nothing to write home about. Fries were not bad however.

Google
sells simple juicy burgers without the extras, they offer a condiment station for you to add on to your liking, the meat was grilled perfectly but the bun could be a bit better, all in all it’s a solid place if you want a simple burger

CL W

Google
Came here by recommendation of a friend. No frills restaurant that only sells burgers and chicken sandwiches. I had a regular burger with fries. The burger was solid, the meat medium grilled and juicy. Bun needs improvement. The special thing of this place is a condiments and sauce station. You can add to your burger by yourself after picking up the order. The fries were hot and crispy. Overall, it's a good burger place but competition in Berlin is hard and there are probably better places.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I really like the burgers here and they reminded me of those in the states. However, there two issues that made me dock two stars: - Got the cheeseburger combo for €11.40 - this is insanely overpriced for something that would cost no more than $7 in the states, but I know, I know, I shouldn't compare. - The patty chef coughed into her hands and was assembling the burgers without any gloves... kind of off-putting. Probably would not come back, and if I wanted a hearty burger, I would check out Burgermeister which gives you a better bang for your buck.

Yelp
I had heard about this place, actually more so read about it in different blogs. And was running around the city exploring when I happen to walk by. It's set up like a small burger joint where it feels welcoming and almost like stepping into a friends place. Burgers were full of flavor and fries were nice and crisp. If you're in need of a quick bite, stop by

Yelp
Just because the guy behind the counter doesn't like you doesn't mean you should dislike this place, lol! Yeah, maybe the service is a bit abrasive, but GD those burgers! I'd eat here all the time if burgers weren't so naughty. And they have every accouterment you can imagine...nice touch! Not surprising this place gets busy fast. Tip - Go on an off hour. In the winter wear a jacket - it's kinda cold in there. And ask them to cut your burger in half (nein on the silverware).

Yelp
Yummmmy! The patty was perfectly cooked, the tommi's sauce complimented it nicely. The size was not big, the large portion of fries make up for it though. Nice atmosphere and friendly service, would definitely go back

Yelp
I was staying at a hotel on KuDamm and urgently needed something to eat! I had already heard so much about BurgerMeister in Berlin and had planned to go there during my trip. I just happened to walk by Tommi's and decided what the hell. I'm not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews! My burger was amazing and I finally found a burger in Germany that tastes almost American (I live in west Germany and I haven't been able to find a burger this tasty!) I didn't end up going to BurgerMeister so I can't compare but the burgers here are great.

Yelp
Oh so hipster, you can't help but like this place. Perfectly located in a lively area of Mitte with a park and tram stop out front, this is another location in the crowded Berlin burger market worth checking out. I usually don't notice the "high quality meats" so many burger places proudly proclaim, but the patty here was just delicious. Juicy and well seasoned-Germans actually using some salt & pepper on the burger! And the shakes. I had nearly given up on milkshakes in Europe after too many flavored milks (it requires ice cream dudes) but decided to give theirs a whirl. It was thick and delicious and reminded me of an American fast food shake in the best way. My only disappointment was the menu. It's basic, but covers your needs. The real issue is that it is crafted so you basically must order a meal (8.90 ish). While this is an ok deal, I didn't want the soda (although I do appreciate a coke in a glass bottle) and we could split a fry. While not a huge complaint, I wish the al la carte was better priced.

Yelp
Wrote review.before but got deleted. Seems i gave them too low star. This new restaurant is famous around he naborhood. Very london style of interior But as i wrote before, its too expensive for quality. 1. meet is dry 2. Little vegi(even u asked addtional vegi). 3. Burger bread is so normal 4. Taste is like mcdonalds 5. French fries also soso 6. Too expensive for quality and taste Nothing is special compared with mcdonalds. *only patty is defferent. But it doesnt taste good either. Good side is coming 1. Kind energitic service 2. Nice music 3. Cool steff 4. Nicw to hangaround friend(if they dont mind burger taste) 5. Hipster place (if u like) *hope this honest review dont get deleted by some back black power.

Yelp
Meh. I can't believe they get away with charging so much for these very average burgers, plus 1 euro for each of their sauces! Both times I've went, my burger had a weird taste and felt slopped together. Burger is small. If only a Burgermeister location opened in Mitte. 'Meister blows this place out of the water in taste, portion size and price! My recommendation? Hop on the nearby U8 to Kottbusser Tor and grab Burgermeister instead. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
A solid 3 Stars for you Tommi! you deserve it, BUT: - Burger is well made and arranged but small for the price. - Fríes are very well done and crunchy but has no special taste due to lack of spices. - Meat is a bit undercooked but didn't bother me much. Overall you guys have very good potential for 5 stars but in my opinion: fix what's written above + i need to visit your place since i always ordered online.

Yelp
the burger was ok, but far from special. There was nothing special about the double burger with bacon and cheese. The cheese was just .... "yellow" ...nothing distinct. The bun was average, and there was one little strip of unseasoned bacon. The meat was done right, but nothing to write home about. Overall a way very overpriced experience without any service in Avery hipsteresque environment. A double burger with beer and fries for 16,90€ ... not a top ten burger experience in Berlin.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best burgers in Berlin - although still doesn't beat Burgermeister. Chicken Burgers here however are the best, especially being topped with Guacamole. Prices are a tad too high though.
google avatar

Yelp
Hmm .. this supposingly one of the best burger Joints - well it is a long way from the US to once hipper Invalidenstrasse .... well the burgers were good ... the whole setting a bit chaotic ... took us 30 min to get the grub ... the mayo did not look really fresh - May be that's the reason i got the runs today .... Will i try it again? Possibly - May be during the day when it is more quiet and the mayo fresher ;-))

Yelp
One of the best burger places in Berlin, or which there are more and more all of the time. Intentionally shabby interior has a cool feel. They cook the meat well, on a proper grill, and they leave them a little pink in the middle. Has that flavor which is awesome. Fries and Sweet Potato Fries are both great. I'm also a sucker for places that offer Fritz-Limo apfelschörle, which they do. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Went to tommi's burger joint today. it was a quintessential american burger experience. simple menu, nothing fancy, no avocado or watercress or argula in my burger. just beef, cheese, lettuce and tomato, yes!. overall im giving this place a solid 4.5. i loved the burger but here were some qualms... 1. the bun is too small. 2. french fries tasted like mcdonalds fries... which isnt a bad thing... but isnt necessarily a great thing. they serve the thin long fries here. 3. not enough tomatoes, not surprising considering the small bun however here is what makes up for it 1. perfectly cooked meat 2. no frills type burger 3. good tasting meat 4. simple, not overly complicated, and hits the spot. havent been too impressed with the burgers in berlin, but tommi's burger joint def hits the mark. gogogo

Yelp
Good burgers and fries. I ordered the cheeseburger with regular fries. It was good, but not life changing. I'm from California, so It's really hard to beat in-n-out, especially with it's light price tag. I really appreciated the simple menu, just three options of burgers and a few different sides. Love the simplicity because you know it's fresh ingredients!
google avatar

Ruby C.

Yelp
Burgers are juicy and there is a whole array of condiments for you to dress up your burger! There beers are pretty good especially the Icelandic beer. Seating is a bit limited. We arrived on a Friday at 8pm and the place was packed, no open seats left. One of the larger parties cleared up a whole table (seats approx: 12) and everyone that was standing went for the seats, it was communal style seating.
google avatar

Jia O.

Yelp
I came here on opening day when they were giving out free burgers and fries, so it's hard not to give kudos for that. The burger was good, no frills (although you can add bacon, mushrooms, and extras), I liked their special sauce/spicy mayo dip. Overall, a decent American-style burger.
google avatar

Yelp
In one sentence: "The Flippin Burgers of Berlin" I went here after reading up a bit on burger places in Berlin. It's always tricky because people have very different expectations on what it should be like (usual expectation is it should be like it is "at home"). If you like American style burgers, this place has some seriously good ones. The menu is simple and you can mix & match with toppings if you wish (think In & Out burger). The meat is juicy and bread is great too. If you like burgers, this is definitely worth the visit.
google avatar

Faical A.

Yelp
Now that's a burger. thick patty, grilled outside, pink inside, juicy and full of flavour. With that, you get 4 stars without any further comment.

Yelp
Tommi's Burger Joint just opened in my neighborhood. I went to their opening day when everything was free but that should not 'blur my review' as their prices are very fair - especially considering their excellent beer selection. Their burgers are juicy and tasty and I disagree with the comments of a previous reviewer. Her comments just don't seem fair to me but then again I do not count tomatoes or lettuce on my burger. The burgers I were outstanding and can keep up with any excellent burger place in the US of A. I would not even go close to comparing them to any fast food chain. The super-friendly crew gets two-thumbs-up and I highly recommend the ambience and tunes. Another great addition to our neighborhood and Berlin. Oh yes, my kids loved sitting on the window sill which made the need for a high chair for our little one obsolete.

Yelp
This Place has some serious good Burgers for the burger craving! We tried several burger eateries in Berlin on our vacation and this was one of our favourites. Unilke many other "exotics" in the city Tommi's serve a no-nonsense hands down great basic burger. My pick was a burger with lettuce, onion, Mayo, bacon and cheddar. Juicy meat that perhaps could have been a little more pink though. The cheddar was good and the lettuce and add ons as expected. The bread was great and you shouldnt underestimate the power of a well made burger bun. Prices are fair and i certainly urge you not to miss the supercrispy sweet potatoe fries. The regular ones was a bit bland so you can skip them instead. Friendly service and the food was ready in about 10 minutes so no complaints there. As Arnold said: Ill be back...............
google avatar

Oliver O.

Yelp
Good burger place..... Take your own jalapeños, pickled cucumbers and fried onion! Meat is medium fried and good quality. Sweet potato fries are crispy and tasty, maybe 50cent too expensive! Would recommend this place without any doubt!
google avatar

Patrick H.

Yelp
This was the best burger of the three burger places I visited in Berlin. Place your order at the counter and hope to find a seat. The burger was nice and juicy and the fries were solid as well. It's a cool place with a cool vibe and I wouldn't hesitate to go back for another meal.
google avatar

Aryn F.

Yelp
Tommi's is one of our favorite, go-to places. The burgers are always good - think a top-notch greasy spoon - and always cooked perfectly. This goes a long way with my 6 yr old who likes just the tiniest hint of pink in her kinderburger. Lately, they've had a special chicken "burger" (Hey, Germans, its not a "burger" unless the meat is ground!). Its so good and exactly what I've been missing from CA. Perfectly seasoned and with a nice smear of guacamole - yum! I hope it becomes part of the regular menu.
google avatar

Jonas G.

Yelp
Yes, this place is hipster and cool and a must try out. You simply have to go check it out at least once and soak up the cool vibes that swing there - and enjoy the interior including all the handwritten signs around the kitchen. The burger is pretty good. Meat is fresh and not the usual frozen stuff you often get in Berlin when ordering a burger. I also love the fact that they really cook the meat medium so that it remains juicy. Talking about juicy, overall the burger was slightly too dry. They really manage to keep the original meat flavor and are not overdoing it with fancy sauces. Overall a really good burger. Also love the the sweet potato fries. Waiting time can be a bit long at busy times, but it's worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
Great American style burgers with juicy red organic meat and sweet buns. Best I've had in Berlin.
google avatar

Yelp
Great burgers, love the sweet potato fries, good location! I always have a good experience in here and it's my favourite burger place in Berlin, along with Grindhouse. Will keep coming back.

Yelp
Tommi's does a pretty good regular burger, but unfortunately their vegetarian burger is a total let down and a rip off. Let me explain: I've been a long-time fan of Tommi's, possibly the best burger in this part of town (Mitte). Burger's are tasty and consistent, condiments are fun. I went there with a friend who is a vegetarian, he was VERY disappointed with his burger. As he unwrapped it, part of the patty literally broke off and fell into the basket. It seems like the kind of low quality veggie burger patty that you would get for 2e at a random Döner place. My friend thought that the burger itself was disgusting. Apart from the patty, nothing much else in the burger. Empty. To rub salt in the wounds, the burger is priced at 6.25e, which is more than the regular burger that comes with a bio fleisch patty. That price certainly builds an expectation that is fails to meet! In the 21st century, there's simply no excuse for serving such as poor quality meal. What's the point of going to all the effort of outfitting a store, hiring staff, making meals, and then having absolutely no commitment to your customer's satisfaction? I'd recommend that this establishment either revamp the veggie burger, withdraw it from the menu entirely, or else price it for what it is - an inferior, unpleasant 2 euro Döner burger. Hot tip - Hamburger Heaven in Graefestraße does a great veggie burger.

Yelp
Tommi's is a burger chain from Iceland which has been around for 30+ years. While burgers may not be the first thing you think about when you think about Iceland, I am pleased to say that Tommi knows what he's doing. The burger is excellent, with a great charred taste that makes it seem like it just came out of a charcoal grill. Berlin burger joints take note: this is how a burger bun should be. Even better is their somewhat hidden 'fixins' table where there are (unfortunately sweet) pickle slices, horseradish, whole grain mustard (!) and a couple other choices. For the cost, I wish they used real cheddar cheese instead of cheap American cheese. Cost is the reason I've docked a star, as everything runs about 1 euro more than it should be. The fries, I should add, are complete copies of McDonald's. I don't have a problem with that, though my particular batch was too salty. I'm sure that was just a mistake, and they were incredibly packed at 3pm on a workday. They get you on the menu deal (9.40 euro if you include cheese). It's almost like you have to take the menu, because you can't live with yourself for paying 2.50 for a bottle of coke. So, minus 1 star for that, but otherwise, Tommi's has got it goin' on. Along with Shiso Burger, Mitte has finally got a couple decent burger options. Maybe next time I'll even try one of those milkshakes.

Yelp
Young, trendy, hip, fun atmosphere. Uncomfortable seating.
google avatar

Jody Z.

Yelp
Very good burgers, the patty is very high quality but sadly I feel the burgers are small, a hungry man could eat 2 at least. Otherwise the fries are good and service is speedy and pleasant.
google avatar

Cevat I.

Yelp
Great burger but way overpriced. Fries are pretty bad so skip those.
google avatar

Yelp
Buuuuuuuullllshite burger. TAkes forever, not a comfy place and the burger is small, boring, and expensive. Busted spot.....dont waste yer time.

Berlin B.

Yelp
Berlin`s most anticipated burger joint opening of the year took place in may 2014. Tommi's Burger Joint , which is already well-known for its high-quality burgers in Reykjavík and London opened its doors in Mitte. The Bacon & Cheeseburger is a very reduced and traditional attempt at creating the perfect burger. The bun is a classic wheat bun with no seeds and is baked fresh in Berlin on a daily basis by following their very own recipe. The 150g of organic Scottish angus beef are medium grilled and as juicy as it gets, while tasting simply delicious. Those two main ingredients are supported by crispy bacon, American cheese, the exact right amount of sauces, a bit of salad, tomato and onions. When I yearn for a classic burger, this is exactly, what I have in mind - no nonsense, scaled down and unbelievably tasty. In fact, the burger is that good, that it`s pushing the boundaries of our leaderboard and makes it the Burj-al-Arab of Berlin burgers: 6/5 * more burger reviews on Facebook: BerlinBuns *

Ravi A.

Yelp
This place is seriously awesome and super cool. It's essentially self service - walk in, order your burger, find a table - and yes, grab a beer. Tried all three Icelandic beers - slightly more expensive but way worth it. Think the Porter was my fave even though I am an IPA guy. Also had a beer called Bier - nice lager to end to meal. Burgers have big patties - with bunch of great toppings you can add on. Very cool hip spot - at the same time, very cool with families. My kids loved the potato fries and sweet potato fries. If we lived in Berlin - this could become an at least once a week spot
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent burgers and good quality of products, i recommand the bacon burger with sweet potato fries! Also the guys from the truck are friendly. Top

Brennan M.

Yelp
Really good burger and fries. What else can I say? The atmosphere definitely feels American, laid back.
google avatar

Aleksandra C.

Yelp
The best meat I've ever had in a burger! It was fresh and prepared in a perfect way. For 10,90 euro I had a Cheeseburger, fries and bier. Bread could be better, fries like from McDonalds, but meat made it all very good. Additional points for the very nice interior and atmosphere.

Zachary B.

Yelp
The atmosphere goes hand in hand with the friendly service and the aesthetic of the joint. The food only enhances the already chilled experience. Would recommend to anyone! The menu is very simple but simplicity is key. Well done!
google avatar

Maor E.

Yelp
First of all, great value for money. And now for the taste - a really delicious, as my friend described it - second best hamburger in the world. It served exactly as a burger should be something between medium and medium-well. The tiny bread allows you to feel the meat to it's great taste. We ate once in Berlin, and came back on our last night to say goodbye to one of our favorite places there. A must for a burger lovers!

Yelp
Having a boyfriend that has a serious burger addiction, and me not being able to eat red meat often due to the lovely tummy cramps that follow, means on the rare occasion that I do eat a burger - it has to be worth it. The place itself is tucked away in Mitte, with skateboarders and parent with kids in prams out front. The crowd was a mix of Mitte hipsters, 20 something tourists and families with young and surprisingly well behaved children. It's got a great decor which appeals to my design sensibilities (lots of wood and a chain link fence covered kitchen area) and staff that are friendly and helpful. You can get a meal with drink for just under ten euros which is great value for money - and you get what you pay for. I had the cheeseburger with fries and a beer. The meat was flavourful if not slightly overdone, although I think the choice of lettuce didn't quite go. The cheese was really sharp and cheddary which I loved. The bun was really nice - fresh baked and quite tasty! The fries were okay, the right side of crispy and plenty of them. It's a great no nonsense burger, and I'd go back again.

Ren L.

Yelp
I know the brand from London but had never tried their burgers before. We had walked past the location many a time before it opened in our neighbourhood and have to say had built up some excitement about the place. So finally we tried out one weekend. Ordered a simple cheeseburger. It was delicious. A fabulously grilled patty medium with all the standard trimming. Not too big or overpriced (the Bird) or too small (Shiso), just right. I loved how they had classic 70s 80s American hits to add to that whole Americana vibe. The interior isn't all that special, just your average dive-esque vibe. The best thing was that you could help yourself to jalapenos, two different types of pickles (LOVE pickles!) and hot sauce. Yum! This is a must try if you're a burger fan. I'm definitely going back to try their milkshakes!

Kevin H.

Yelp
Had the chicken burger which was delicious! The fries were good, but nothing special. It did take a little bit to get my food but was worth the wait. The atmosphere is super cool.
google avatar

Droim C.

Yelp
Discovered this awesome and simple burger restaurant. No place in Berlin where you can get a quality fresh meat burger at this price. Nevertheless, since the burger comes pretty plain some might be disappointed and should add some sauces extra. I like it just the way it is.
google avatar

Clare M.

Yelp
Seriously tasty burger and sweet potato fries. Quirky little place, chilled atmosphere and friendly staff!
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
As an American, this place is the closest I've found to a great burger in the style I'm used to. It's nothing pretentious, but just plain good burger. Also, they cook it very well - not well done, but nice and pink inside, and the flavor is great. Fries are good. My kids loved it too. Recommended.
google avatar

Hannes H.

Yelp
Just opened and already earning a top spot in my burger restaurants in Berlin. For me this is the best burger I had so far in Berlin. It's a very simple burger but it is exactly as it should be. The patty is very flavourful and medium, the cheese adds some creamy texture with salad and tomato on top. The bun is large enough to support the patty wich in a lot of restaurants is not the case. Fries are very good too. Also try their Icelandic beer. Overall well done, a great addition to the Berlin burger scene. If you are after a great burger that highlights flavours without the fuzz and some fancy (and often questionable) variations of burgers go there.
google avatar

Scott A.

Yelp
Good burgers but small, great fries, funky dining room, friendly staff. Nothing special, but a pretty good burger. Order two if you are hungry.

Yelp
I had their monthly burger and I thought it was phenomenal ! Service was also wonderful.
