Toña Bakery & Café

I loved my experience at Toña. The staff are kind and helpful. There isn’t a washroom, but they offered to watch my things as I went to the ones at the Stong’s just down the street. They are clean and easily-accessible. I had a matcha latte with oat milk, and a pain suisse, both of which were phenomenal. The colour of the matcha was perfect, and the pain suisse was shiny and crispy, with chocolate chips and pastry cream inside. They also make everything in-house. The interior is bright, clean and aesthetic, and they have free wifi. The ambience was perfect as well. I had a great time working and reading. I would 100% recommend Toña’s to anyone! 🤩

Excellent baked goods. Good quality drinks. Outstanding service. The atmosphere is ideal, featuring handmade furniture. The true hidden gem of this place is its creative use of color. There is also a unique collection of literature on this topic, with thoughtful examples integrated into the interior design. I would gladly give five stars in the future if there were an option to visit the washroom. Currently, access is not allowed for some reason. Given that it rains half the year in Vancouver, a bit of humidity is actually welcome after a hot coffee.

Pastries are amazing and quite unique compared to other bakeries nearby. The inside is quite lovely but not too big. Sadly no bathroom. They also gave us some of their chocolates for free as they were not able to sell that specific batch which was a memorable touch to our visit. All staff was incredibly friendly.

Renowned baked goods and chocolates with top-notch specialty coffee at Toña. The Dunbar neighborhood has another gem! Highly recommended.

I’m always excited to visit this bakery whenever I’m nearby. The baked goods are outstanding, with creative flavour combinations that are both memorable and delicious. And for anyone who appreciates good coffee, theirs is consistently top-notch. Definitely a go-to spot!

A very cool, eclectic cafe. The staff are incredibly kind and the coffee is arguably the best in the city. Such a gorgeous atmosphere with vibrant blue and orange and tons of natural lighting with big windows. Indoor seating area is limited but they’ve made the most they can do with the limited space. as a note, there is no washroom available

Loved the vibes and food! Toña offers several unique pastry’s. I tried their pan suisse and Spanish latte. My only complaint is that their drink portions are small, but with the amount you’re given it’s delicious

So happy I stumbled upon this cafe. Plenty of street parking in the area, and the store front and atmosphere is so fun and welcoming. The staff were lovely and it was not a chaotic space at all. Perfect for working in or just enjoying on your own. Matcha was great and they do measure it out. The croissant was one of the best I’ve had in Vancouver!

I came on a Saturday and the place was full. We waited a bit and got a seat shortly. We got the Spanish latte, espresso with milk and a croissant. The croissant was really flaky. Really good lamination. Was good except I felt the butter fragrance could be stronger. Both coffees that we had were really good and smooth. A bit of a fruity scent. I would definitely come back to try their other pastries and coffee. It's definitely on the pricier side but for the quality I think it's worth it. The staff are really nice and the atmosphere is super laid back and chill.

I went here a few weeks ago towards closing but luckily was still able to get a drink! Their staff were not rushing me at all, I was able to get a cortado and an iced matcha latte. Both were extremely delicious, there was still people sitting inside and taking their time, I love the interiors and vibe of the cafe. The staff told me to return again to try their baked goods!

Tona is such a nice addition to Dunbar. It's quite conveniently located right next to Stong's and there is plenty of street parking in the area. I was a bit disappointed by how small the space was but they were very clever with how they arranged their seating to fit more customers. The place is so beautifully decorated and has very cozy vibes. I visited on a Thursday at noon and was surprised that it was actually mostly full so I decided to take my order to go. Their menu is quite small but I always order a latte anyway so that was fine. It seems that they have a large tea selection though. The menu was a bit confusing otherwise because there was no "latte" on the actual menu board and the sizes were odd to me. I'm not sure how the menu works. They also have a nice selection of baked goods. I ordered a concha and it was very delicious. I've never heard of conchas before but it was very similar to a melon pan so I guess maybe they're just different cultural interpretations of the same pastry :) Overall a nice experience with fast and friendly service.
