Booked a meal for my birthday. Unfortunately we won't be back, prices were extortionate for what we had, £11 for a bowl of soup with the tiniest roll and the soup was pretty much tasteless and like water. Haddock chips and peas £24, I asked for my fish breaded which I expected to be lighter than batter but it was thicker and not great, chunky frozen chips like McCains. For that price I'd expect a lot better than what can only be described as pub food. Added service charge which I asked to be removed as price was high enough without.

A delightful hotel of the old style sympathetically restored to just the right level. Lovely bar area ( always nice to meet locals), lounge area ( always nice to chat to other residents). Rooms warm, comfortable, bathroom modern, interiors lovely. Food excellent- sea bass was delicious. Amazing breakfast. A def recommend.

A wonderful two night stay in this beautifully renovated hotel in a stunning part of the world. The facilities in the room were perfect, the staff service was extremely professional and helpful throughout, the food was great and the dog-friendliness much appreciated. I honestly could not fault anything and will definitely be going back.

Visited for Sunday lunch which was delicious. We all had roast beef, which along with the accompaniments made for a very generous portion. Children were well catered for with colouring in books to keep them occupied and very tasty macaroni cheese for their main course. Desserts were also very nice and the whole experience was excellent value for money. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Was fantastic to have a dining out option available for both visitors and us locals throughout the winter.

As locals who live an hour plus away, we thought we would try the hotel out as we had not been since its new ownership & refurbishment. Staying for 2 nights during a winter storm, it was perfect for providing an atmospheric Highland feel! A very comfortable, doggy friendly room, friendly staff & excellent food, especially the braised beef. We also had the benefit of much reduced winter rates which makes it well worth a visit. The hotel just needs to ensure that standards do not drop just because it’s out of season & not as busy. There were a couple of small niggles which although resolved, have prevented a 5 star rating. But all in all we would definitely consider another stay.

Yelp
Stayed here while doing the North Coast 500 drive with husband. The Hotel overlooking the Kyle of Tongue, Ben Loyal and Castle Varrich. The hotel was built in the 1800s. Our room still has some original wood paneling and antique furnitures. It's like living in the past. We hiked the Varrich Castle ruins. The restaurant food is okay nothing spectacular. There was a complimentary sherry our room. I do recommend this place.

Yelp
the girl that checked us in is fantastic (Lorraine)and friendly.she is very efficient and even though she is young she is obviously a person that takes pride in what she does. I wasn't expecting the room to be as comfortable as it is (unsure why) it's large with a big and clean bathroom. great view and comfy bed (afternoon nap). will be back again when fat Jimmy hits the highlands again
