I stopped in about 15 minutes prior to closing so I'm not sure what their typical selection is. They had lots of macarons when I was there, but those aren't my thing. I did buy a chicken pot pie and beef bourguignon, and we had those for dinner. They were pretty good, and though I'm glad to say I have tried beef bourguignon It's not my thing. The chicken pot pie had a lot of mushrooms in it and I'm not a mushroom fan but it didn't mess with the flavor too much for me. I liked the way they construct these since they sell them for folks to take home; the filling is separated from the puff pastry topping by a piece of parchment paper to keep it from getting too soggy, so then you heat it separate and place the puff pastry on for the last five minutes.
I also got a pot de creme to try since that's a treat I haven't had before. It was not bad, though it had nuts on it which I hate. But the custard, salted caramel in flavor, wasn't bad and now I have a couple of pots to try making it someday. (Will I? Time will tell....) They have a fairly standard drink menu with some rotating specials as well, and I picked up their fall chai latte--apple spice, I think it was? Not bad and a much more unique flavor than most other ____ chai latte flavors that are offered in summer (usually those just taste like chai).
Service was friendly. There was someone there who had just started given the sorts of instructions she was getting but she did well. It very much has a French/European cafe sort of feel. They have tables both inside and out. Parking is on the street but there's also the Metra station down the road.
