Food was mostly good. The ceviche was great. The shrimp were also yummy but were drowning in sauce so a bit too much going on. The ribeye wagyu was a joke. They bring out 2 tiny pieces of steak and a huge deep fried sour tasting tamale?? Such a disappointment - it almost felt disrespectful to put a deep fried cheap tamale next to such expensive steak. I give it 3 stars, mainly because of value. I feel like they cheaped out. Even the ceviche - it came with ketchup chips but there were so few… Anyways, there’s other restaurants that offer better value.

Tono by Akira Back was absolutely incredible. We ordered a handful of share plates and every single one delivered!! The tuna tartare was fresh and perfectly balanced, while the shishito peppers came coated in a bright yuzu glaze and finished with tajín…sweet yet citrusy. The wagyu steak was rich, tender, and honestly unforgettable. We also tried the mushroom risotto, which was deeply savory and comforting, and the Salmon roll, which was probably my favorite of the evening! Beyond the food, the decor was stunning, modern, moody, and thoughtfully designed. This is a spot that truly delivers on both flavor and atmosphere.

I absolutely love this place. The food was exquisite, artistically presented, and flavours wonderfully contrasted. So unique and totally worthy of a Michelin star like the chef himself. I was a little hesitant about the fish but it was all delicious! I had beef skewers, yellowtail scallion taco, mushroom risotto, prawn cigars, and passionfruit pearl for dessert. Beautiful interior decor, setting and views, ambience was nice even when it got busy and crowded. Our server was absolutely delightful, cheery, enthusiastic, and full of energy with the best advice and recommendations. Unfortunately I didn't catch his name but thanks for the wonderful experience! The only recommendation I have is the seating seems a little too close together, hard to walk around or even have privacy at your table if the next one is so closeby. Maybe they could space it out a bit more and limit the numbers to make it even more exclusive. 😉

I was here in January for drinks and February for drinks and dinner. We were a group of 3 both times and had reservations. The drinks were all made to perfection. Every drink was a different experience and the presentation was always creative. The food was amazing. So many different flavours and everything we tried was delicious. I highly recommend trying this place for cocktails or dinner.

Came to Tono for dinner and had an amazing experience! We absolutely loved every dish that we tried - thank you Chef Karen! Hats off to you. We were two of us and we tried the Wagyu tartare, Nasu dynamite, French bean tempura for apps and had the Tajima short rib (yum!!), Chicken taco and Ebi sushi. The portions were flavorful and the taste was authentic. Truly loved the Japanese and Peruvian fusion - everything came together so so well. Our server was Steven - definitely one of the best servers/bartenders in the city. Super friendly, quick and made amazing recommendations. The assistant GM greeted us at the table and he was so kind and welcoming. The cocktail he made for our table was to die for! The atmosphere is very chill, quiet enough to be able to catch up with a friend. Can't wait to be back :) our new go to in the city.

This place is an absolute vibe with it's elegant-yet-lively atmosphere, amazing service, and beautiful dishes. Tastewise though, found the food generally just ok. - Tono Cigars: One of their signature dishes is very theatrical, as it comes in a box and opens up in smoke. The beautiful voila aside, this is a standard tasting prawn wrap, though appreciated the smoky sesame ash. - Maki Picchu: Good size, nice char, would have liked a bit of a stronger aioli taste since that was delightful. - Charred Octopus: One of the most tender octopus I've had in the city. Best dish of the night. - Tajima Wagyu Short Rib: Had huge expectations for this based on our experience at Akira Back. Turned out just ok. - The Pearl: Stunningly beautiful dessert. Liked the tartness of the passionfruit. While I have mixed opinions of this place, I will say it is still a fun night out and a treat to dine in.

The atmosphere, service & food is so wonderful! I came here for dinner on a weeknight in January with some friends. Our server, Natasha was patient, kind and had great suggestions for us to try. We tried the following: - Beef & Chicken Skewer Robatas - Surf & Turf Tono Special Roll - Mushroom Risotto - French Bean Tempura - Tono Cigars - The AJI for dessert The food had such great presentation and was so delicious, everything left us wanting more. The only small thing was, that they had pretty long gaps between items seeved, at one point, I forgot that we had ordered more food. So if you're short on time, definitely consider this when booking. Pro Tip, they do offer complimentary 2hr valet parking, so if tell the valet you're eating at the restaurant, they will make of it note of it for you. Overall, it was such a great xperience!

I recently visited for dinner and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the warm atmosphere and attentive service made us feel truly welcomed — almost like VIPs. The bar team, Steaven and Rob, delivered beautifully crafted cocktails with clear passion and professionalism. Our server, Jasmine, was absolutely wonderful — attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed, making the entire evening feel effortless and comfortable. One moment that really stood out was when AGM Elnur personally came to our table to introduce himself and checked in on us throughout the evening. It’s rare to see a manager take such a hands-on, thoughtful approach, and it truly elevated our dining experience. We visited with our family on Christmas, and it turned out to be a perfect Christmas dinner. The food, service, and ambiance all came together to create a memorable and special night. This is a place I would happily return to — not only for special occasions, but any time I’m looking for an exceptional dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone wanting great food, genuine hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere.
