I recently stayed here on two occasions - before and after Slottsfjell music festival on which I was working.||||Four of us shared a six bed dorm on the ground floor. The room was very clean. Would perhaps have felt a bit cramped had there been six of us. WiFi signal was good throughout the building.||||The location of the hostel is good. Close to the railway station, the 'slottsfjell' park and the town centre. Although Tønsberg is not a particularly large town.||||Breakfast was served every morning in the pleasant first floor dining room. There was a wide selection - meats, cheese, fresh bread, cereal, juice, coffee etc. Way better than anything we were provided during the festival set up and downrigg.||||This being Norway nothing comes cheap. A dorm bed costs 400NOK (£40/$60.) Consequently the clientèle was mainly Norwegian, a lot of family groups. Foreign backpackers are a very rare sight in these parts. I think if I saw one I would probably stare like a third world local.||||Family groups mean lots of young children. They ran around in the morning screaming and stomping, making more noise than a hoard of drunken backpackers (no alcohol permitted on the premises by the way.) Sleeping in would be very difficult, even with earplugs.||||The best thing about the hostel, in my opinion was the owner. She was very friendly and made me feel most welcome.
