"Neon sign, Chinese signage in acrylic, emerald tiles: Tony Wu Cantina China is Villa Crespo doing NYC’s Chinatown. Expect a lazy Susan rotating at the round table, retro movie posters like In the Mood for Love, fishbowl cocktails, and a semi-open kitchen with roasted ducks and pork on display. It's theatrical, it's fun, and you know immediately this isn't your standard Buenos Aires Chinese spot. The menu is regional Chinese dishes done right—woks firing, soups simmering, dumplings and baos coming out hot. The showstopper is the roasted duck served with pancakes, cucumber, scallions, and plum sauce. Hot & sour soup delivers proper heat and tang; fried chicken stays juicy under its crackling skin.
