"For lunch, I order sandwiches from Tony’s, a small market where you can buy groceries. They also have a deli stand inside, where you can get sandwiches and chicken fingers and fries."

glad I found this pla e during a week in spent on Martha's vineyard. Breakfast items and donuts i really liked. As a cigar smoker, they had some blunts that I really like . The staff was also very nice.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tony's Market in Oak Bluffs is an absolute treasure trove of delights! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a tantalizing array of options that you never knew you needed until now. Whether you're craving a gourmet sandwich from their deli, browsing through their impressive selection of wines and beers, or indulging in freshly baked goods, this market has it all. One of the highlights is their dedication to local produce, offering the freshest fruits and vegetables that capture the essence of Martha's Vineyard. And let's not forget their well-stocked shelves of newspapers and magazines, perfect for grabbing a read while enjoying a delicious snack. Tony's Market isn't just a grocery store—it's an experience. The friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and diverse offerings make it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists alike. Trust me, you'll leave with more than just groceries—you'll leave with a newfound appreciation for the finer things in life.

Black Joy was just awesome. The staff makes the restaurant and then the food. Sounds crazy, but everyone was pleasant and just tentative to the guest.

Google
Quick breakfast sandwichs premade or made to order coffee good hot or iced. Store has a little of everything so no need to run to S/S. It also has wine and beer Nice little community store.

Google
Used to be much better before it was sold. Prices are way higher than any other "grocery" store on island. Also not sure if it is a language barrier thing, or they just don't listen, but if you order food you should double check that it's actually what you ordered.

Back a few years ago your cheese steak sub was fabulous! Was for years. Now the roll is way too big. Too much bread. Smaller rolls please.

Google
Great coffee. Even when there's a long line they get you in and out quickly.

Google
Had to repeat our order 5 times. A ham, egg, and Swiss. To go. $8. Got home and found the “complimentary” HAIR in the sandwich. Disgusting

Yelp
Nice service. Convenient shop. Nice to have a place that's got so much AND we can easily stroll there!

Yelp
Completely ignored by the entire staff while waiting to order food. Ended up just leaving without anything because nobody would acknowledge me despite literally walking around me while I waited where it says "order here" and filling/cooking prep sandwiches for the cooler.... Then they wouldn't sell my 27 year old girlfriend a 4 pack of beer, because they wanted all of our IDs (even though the other 3 of us already left, they told her to go outside and get us all to come back in and show ID). Were all in our late twenties and thirties. Were not splitting one four pack lol. Not a good place.

Yelp
Cool local grocery store/deli. My wife and I had a hankering for tunafish salad sandwich we thought their tuna melt was excellent we also had a premade macaroni salad which was quite good. The guy in front of us ordered 10 sandwiches and said he's been going there for years. We felt lucky to be here it was cool , huge wine selection. Check it out

Yelp
This market became my daily go-to store during my stay on the island. I bought soda, chips, etc... as needed. Their long hours helped me to go early in the morning when there were less customers. Thank god my house was within walking distance from the store. I could see some items are sometimes sold out and some items costs more than what you would expect but that's typical for the island life! Their drink selection (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) is very wide.

Yelp
The best sandwiches, salads, and also a full service grocery store - with beer and wine. THANK YOU Tony's Market for always being there when we need lunch or a newspaper or a lime or a 12 pack of seltzer no matter what time of year. Highly recommend for whatever you need.

Yelp
One stop shop! Food, snacks, beer/wine/ tobacco products, whatever you need they got. Not going to lie, their prices sometimes a bit much but it's the convenience that's key. Also a huge tip, if you're going to purchase alcohol make sure everyone that is with you had an ID- they're sticklers.

Yelp
Tony's market is a great store for last minute staples. But I love it even more for the prepared sandwiches, snacks and meals! I can always count on Tony's.

Yelp
Since last posting, nothing has changed at Tony's. More completely rude, seemingly non-English speaking help. Yesterday went in for a coffee and the deli help, a man, was speaking so loudly in Portuguese, to a customer. It was so offensive, clearly personal. He ignored those wanting to order and did not do what he was there for. This went on for 5 minutes or more. People standing around just shaking their heads. There is so many positive things about Tony's , could the management please establish some order in this store. It is truly unpleasant to shop there. By far the rudest employees on the island.

Yelp
Great little market with a gourmet deli. Only got wine (nice selection), but the food looked great

Yelp
I like Tony's for their breakfast sandwiches and their make your own coffee bar. It's quick on weekdays but it's such a ridiculous wait in the weekends. You can call in orders though. I got the California wrap which was really mustardy one time so I'd pick the to go salads and pasta salads when you can over sandwiches. But it's great breakfast (would def recommend the croissant) and they have a pretty large selection of market food for being a small place (and wine too)

Yelp
After today, done with this place. I've been here 4x this summer and was disappointed every time. The absolute SLOWEST deli you will ever find. Unfriendly and borderline rude staff. Example: staff member needed me to move my water bottle off the counter & instead of a simple "excuse me", said "I know you have your stuff here and everything, but I need to get in" (she was refilling a pastry shelf on the counter by the coffee). Everyone who works here looks absolutely miserable, no effort made to greet you or do anything that may resemble customer service. It took AT LEAST 10 minutes to have a simple wrap from their menu made. And, it was made incorrectly, they forgot the cheese and it was incredibly dry. No one in this establishment knows how to properly wrap a wrap! They leave the ends open so everything falls out when you pick it up. Worst of all, there is an overuse of packaging for their wraps. They are wrapped in paper/foil then put in a plastic container, completely unnecessary.

Yelp
Call your food in before you go as it can take a while waiting in the small store but you will not be disappointed. We had sandwiches everyday from here and they were all amazing. Add tomato and pickles to the tuna melt and you won't regret it!

Yelp
Tony's is a small hidden gem. They have great breakfast and lunch sandwiches and the best chicken cranberry and chicken curry. Their merchandise is limited but they make sure whatever they have is the best. Pick up a bluefish spread-better than the seafood shops on island.

Yelp
I've been going here weekly since January. I liked the prepared foods - but be selective to what you buy and deli which closes at 3 pm. A nice selection of wines and produce. They have huge variety of ready made coffees and breakfast area. My concern is the prepared foods. Out of going 3 to 4 times a week at least one dish should of not been sold to me. I've tried the mixed fruit some were moldy. I've tried the special mark down meals-- those should be thrown away not sold to the public. And I tried a yogurt from the cheese fridge which I bought unknowing that it was a month past the stamped expiration date. You are the safest in getting a deli item from the counter for a quick meal. Be selective in produce and cheese you buy. Wines and drinks with everything else on the other side of the store is a green light.

Yelp
Staying in Oaks Bluff down the road in June 2019 and the nicest people at Tony's Market. The prices are really fair for the island. The beer and wine prices are actually on par with off the island even cheaper than the cape. I had a stale fourpack and they swapped me out. The deli is a great casual meal as well since its just off the main drag from where the ferry comes.. I hope its there next time I stay in town.

Yelp
Almost anything you might need last minute - from bandaids to beer. Small produce section isn't always so fresh, make the trip to reliable or cronigs! Really yummy deli, pre made salads, sandwiches and take and heat meals. Amazing coffee!! Super awesome and friendly staff! Scratch tickets, keno, cigs, newspapers. A wee bit overpriced, but it is the vineyard!!

Billy M.

Yelp
Had to pick something up from the hot bar and fridge but it definitely exceeded expectations. Meatball sub tasted the way a meatball sub should taste. Salad from the fridge was super fresh and veggies were crispy. Can't go wrong with the quality but not sure if I agree with the price. Then again it is MV.

Yelp
So much to love here....the food is made to order and awesome, prices are reasonable, a nice selection of prepared foods to grab and go (love the deviled eggs) and no crazy circuit Ave traffic. I really love the breakfast burrito and steak sandwich. The ordering counter can be a little chaotic but that's part of the charm.

Yelp
Tony's Market is a one-stop local favorite for three island must-haves: beer, take out lunch and lottery tickets. Their sandwiches are generous, affordable and tasty. If you call ahead you can have it waiting for you when you arrive, which is nice if you are in a rush. Back when I was eating red meat and American cheese, I had a regular Friday tango with one of their cheese steak sandwiches which was a highlight of my work week. The deli counter is over to the right when you walk in and they make anything you want- hot and cold subs, primarily. It's not fancy and you can't eat there, but if you notice the number of cars in the parking lot at lunch, you'll discern that these guys know how to make a meal. All the booze is in the back and they actually have a decent selection. It's interesting to see who tanks up at lunch time and on Sundays at noon which is when liquor sales begin on Sundays in Massachusetts. Tony's does offer your basic household necessities like milk, paper towels, dish soap and the random vegetable, but I don't think there's much turnover there. The staff can be surly and gruff but don't let that scare you. Most of them have been here forever and have seen it all. They've had a few big lottery winners including one that put an island gal on Easy Street for the rest of her life, so there's always a fair number of people hoping for a repeat performance. Tony's is out of the way but when you find it, you'll be happy you did. Especially if you are going for beer, sandwiches or lottery tickets.

Yelp
Two pints of Ben and Jerry's cost more than $15. That's simple math--I won't be returning.

Yelp
Tonys is the coolest little deli on the island. It was right down the street all week we stayed on the island and we went there at least once everyday. Prices are typical for the island. They sell beer, wine, and everything you need. We even sat outside at their one tables to eat and that was great. Deli food is awesome. Get the turkey club. We love Tonys!

Faith T.

Yelp
I have had my LAST cheese steak sub forever. It was so dry. No onions to speak of and no choice of cheese. But the main thing is the dryness of it. I almost went to Vineyard Haven for a chicken salad sandwich from Humphries. That's what I should of done. Never, ever had a bad sandwich from there and they are under $10.00. Live and learn.

Yelp
Tony's market, from reviews, may seem pricey to some-but you're on an island!!! It's about convenience and the people behind it. Today, I met David, the owner as I was stranded with a dead car battery on a December afternoon- a nightmare for me, a 39 week pregnant lady. He insistently helped me find jumper cables and helped me jump my car! When you go to this store, just know they are super kind hearted people!
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
This is not your old Tony's Market. Items are pricey including the 9 dollar subs but it's a local store if you need something in a pinch.
google avatar

Seth M.

Yelp
9.50 for a gallon of milk and a dozen eggs? Thats super expensive even for the vineyard!

Yelp
Seems to always have the right assortment of convenience store items. The coffee bar is great and you can avoid going downtown in season :)

Yelp
Tony's market is a wholesome convenient/grocery store shopping experience. Their is ample parking outside the store, clean interior and a nice aura to the building itself. There is only one flaw that I have from Tony's market, and it isn't even Tony's market itself. It is the horrible recreation of the sacred barbecue dining experience formally known as smoke n' bones, god rest its soul, currently known as Sea Smoke. It is a complete and utter disgrace to its predecessor, lord smoke n' bones. While the "food" they harbor and service is not entirely abominable, the atmosphere is anything but enjoyable. The entire restaurant is too bright. It feels like you're eating in Martha Stewart's prison cell bathroom rather than a barbecue hangout spot. I personally don't feel comfortable eating my, rather dry, pork in the lighting from the actual sun. There is no comfy aspect of Sea smoke, from the unsettlingly large entry way, (which is most certainly void of any comically placed pig statues), to the rude glares of literally anyone that works there. What. Am I not allowed to be upset because you turned the once prominent and best BBQ spot on the island into the janitors closet it is now? Ugh. Don't go there. But do go to Tony's market. I recommend the tuna fish sandwich. Goodnight.
