This was a really nice experience, The pork sausages were absolutely phenomenal - juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. But the real star of the show was the buttermilk biscuit... it was Flaky, buttery, and utterly delicious. Service was top-notch too. If you're a breakfast lover like me, do yourself a favor and get there. You won't regret it!

I don't know why this place isn't packed all the time. My wife and I tried the Po-boys and good lord, absolutely phenomenal! Obviously it was massive and we got to take some home, but it was so worth it. Delicious, priced well, great atmosphere and service staff. Will definitely be coming back!! ♥️

Highly recommend! Had dinner here tonight for the first time and it was incredible! Staff was very helpful when booking and then later changing a reservation, very friendly atmosphere and interactions. We got the best table in the place by luck, which made things even better for a birthday dinner! The food was incredibly delicious, flavourful and unique and very affordable. Lots of options. So excited to find an amazing southern style seafood place to come to. Will be back every chance we get in Banff. Thanks for the great dinner!

I love Tooloulous! I first discovered this charming eatery in 2022, and have thought of it often since. It was the one place I wanted to make sure to revisit on my most recent trip to Banff, Canada. It did not disappoint. Being New Year’s Day there was quite a wait to be seated, yet since it was just me, they allowed me to sit at the bar and order my brunch…Which was as heavenly as I had remembered! I had the crab and asparagus omelette. The manager made sure to greet me and I told him that I had been there before and that experience had been what brought me back. The wait staff was great and even though it was just me at the bar they were very attentive! I highly recommend this eatery for its unique atmosphere and cuisine.

Was a very nice meal that was different compared to pub food of steak house. Lots of flavours and a robust menu. Very kid friendly for the lunch we had.

4.8 ✨ A extraordinary place for seafood boil. The first time we went was a >30 min wait time so we didn’t get in. Then we tried the next day around 8:30pm and got in easily but they closed at 9:30. Dinner menu was different from breakfast and brunch menu so we ordered magnolia salad, Cajun seafood skillet, big easy, and shrimp and grits to share. The portions were huge and seafood was so delicious and well-cooked! Wanted to visit again for the brunch menu. Our server Andy was professional and friendly so we had a great experience here!

Google
We started with the crab cakes, they were generous with the crab filling and had okay flavor. Frog legs were next, very tender and cooked well but we didn't care for the sauce on the outside. Our main course was a combination of three different dishes with a side of cornbread. Not much protein on the plate, disappointing taste as well BESIDES the cornbread. Cornbread was very fluffy with that perfect crisp exterior, and the only thing we tried that I would eat again. No complaints about the service, atmosphere was a little loud and tables are small.

Google
We had a great evening here. Smaller restaurant in Banff with attentive servers. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the green beans were surprisingly good. My husband ordered the Taste N'Awlin's and loved the Jambalaya.

Christine N.

Yelp
First impressions: cute and kitschy... with New Orleans type decor... the plastic red and white checkered table "cloth" felt a little unnecessary. Made it seem a bit cheap. The noms: *Taste of N'awlins: my brother's order. It was a lot smaller than he anticipated so he finished it like an appetizer... but it was good. We all shared a bite of each other's dishes. *Shrimp po'boy: my sister's order. It was good, but the ratio of bread to shrimp wasn't ideal, so she left off the top bun and ate it like an open sandwich. The Cajun fries were decent. Didn't have much Cajun seasoning on it, and the fries were a bit sad and limp. The fries were also dark, which sometimes happens when the oil hasn't been changed in a while... or they could be burnt.. I don't know for sure. *Ribs: my order. The ribs were good (sticky and tender, just like I like it... though not fall off the bone... still satisfied a craving). The dirty rice was also good. The slaw was terrible. It didn't look or taste anything like slaw. It was bone dry (see picture) and look like something that was dumped out of a pre-mixed bag of slaw from the grocery store, but lacking any kind of dressing. *Hush puppies: good, but a bit dry *Fried green tomatoes: nothing like what I usually order... the fried coating was so dry it crumbled off the tomato and into the dipping sauce. *Andouille Mac and cheese: super disappointing. A bit watery (see picture) and not cheesy at all. In conclusion: despite the promising reviews, I was super disappointed. Can't recommend it.

Yelp
We went here for breakfast food, so I can't speak to the dinner. I had a strawberry waffle. The waffle batter itself was excellent! The only issue I had was they used that cheap Hershey's chocolate sauce that has that chemical taste to it. The chocolate sauce kind of ruined it for me, but I know the waffle underneath it was good. I highly recommend the waffle, but hold the chocolate sauce or get a different version - they had a few kinds to choose from. I did LOVE the amount of whipped cream and strawberries on it. My husband had the Benedict which he said was only okay. I did steal some of his breakfast potatoes and they were actually pretty bad. I recommend steering clear of those breakfast potatoes. If you are going to be here for breakfast it seems the waffles are the move!

Yelp
Incredibly huge portions for breakfast! The wait was quite long, but it was well worth it. We had an incredibly friendly server that let us know while we were ordering that these portions were going to be HUGE. We were fueling up for a big hike, so it was just what we were looking for. Food: - Caesar Salad (3/5): meh, nothing special and wasn't a fan of the dressing - Alligator Bites (4/5): my first time having alligator! An interesting taste, but felt like it could've used some more salt - Pork Belly Benedict (4/5): An interesting take on the classic eggs benedict! Was delicious, but pork belly was a teeny bit dry - Breakfast Poutine (5/5): now if you're looking for a hearty dish, I recommend this one. Cheesy, hearty and everything I could ever dream of! This was my favorite. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Tooloulous, BANFF 204 Caribou St, Located in Town Centre Mall Situated right in downtown Banff We were there late September, had brunch there. They were busy even in late September, can't imagine peak period! They took our walk-in reservation & gave us a buzzer, about a 30 minute wait. Cajun seafood & burgers join Louisiana libations on red-checkered tablecloths amid brick walls. Decor was colourful & quaint. Service was good. Great menu selection The food was good! Portions were a very good sized. I had the crab & asparagus- chunks of crab meat... so good! We had Belgian waffles, hot chocolate... everything was good. If you are in Banff looking for brunch. This is the place!

Rolly T.

Yelp
To our surprise we found Cajun food in the Canadian Rockies. Nice ambience. Able to sit outdoors and enjoy the fresh crisp air and people watch. The menu is extensive. Service is helpful. We enjoyed the gumbo and jambalaya we ordered accompanied by cornbread. Good amount of serving.

Thaila N.

Yelp
This is a cute restaurant in Banff Town! It was such a beautiful day, so we sat outside. Considering how small the restaurant is in square footage, it surprisingly did feel too cramped inside or outside. The service was great - our waitress checked in on us often and refilled our drinks quickly. The food also came out fairly fast as well, but unfortunately was lacking in seasoning and taste. Hushpuppies + cornbread: The cornbread was the absolute best part of my meal. It was fluffy, sweet, and just so yummy. The hushpuppies were more dense and chewy than I expected, but the flavor was good. Crab cakes: Very crispy coating and perfect texture! But they definitely needed more seasoning. Cheesy garlic grits: Extremely bland, no cheesy or garlicky flavor at all. It was just a mushy goop, we could barely eat it and it went to waste. :( I would probably come back, but only for breakfast/brunch to try that menu. :)

Julie T.

Yelp
If you've never had Cajun food, you would probably think this was good. Nothing was horrible but also not great. Service was acceptable but definitely not attentive if you need something.

Yelp
100% RECOMMEND We wanted to eat something different than Canadian food, and I'm so glad we tried it!! The place is always packed - esp their outdoors and I'm now sure why that is. Service was great. Our server was attentive. Food: They all have big servings!! Jambalaya: omg, must try! So flavorful and their corn bread was also very tasty Shrimp po'boy: also good, friends claimed it's the best po'boy they've tasted Mac n cheese: friend also really loved it!!

Yelp
Head up to the great white north!!. yearbook advise from an old school friend!! Banff Canada!! to enjoy some serious -0° temps!! good thing hotel was very close to Tooloulous and made it easy to get to!! Somehow memories come back to you in a certain way.. 1980's CA.. Tagus Ranch Truck Stop commercial man sitting at cafe " I want a big breakfast!!" Here is what exactly he was referring to!! get you ready for your day!! even being cold but your tummy was full and would get you going!! Wonderful sevice!! attentive and friendly!! coffee was great!! food was phenomenal!! plus the wow factor!! Very big thanks to the lovely ladies for taking very good care of us!! wish you where close to home!!!

Lisa M.

Yelp
Hubby went here for some gluten free French toast. He ordered a classic gluten free French toast and topped it with apple. He also ordered a mochacino (chocolate milk + coffee + whip cream). The menu is well marked for gluten free and staff are well informed on allergies. I didn't eat here because it seemed there was a lot of dairy and not as many options for gluten and dairy free together.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
This restaurant was a lot of fun! I loved the decor and the food was delicious. They were so nice to our giant party of 3 families, including 7 kids. We got the Cajun fries, cornbread, jambalaya, etouffe, & gumbo. All were spicy and delicious. We got crab cakes & grits for the kids, so there are plenty of good kid options. The service was really friendly too. Happy to go back the next time we are in Banff!

John G.

Yelp
During a weeklong ski trip to Banff we actually ate here twice, mainly because the Blackened Chicken Cajun Wrap I ordered on our first visit was so epically good that I just had to have it again! And the accompanying margarita was masterfully mixed as well. My wife ordered the Planked Wild B.C. Salmon Filet and absolutely loved it. Note: the Cajun Chicken Wrap was huge so you could conceivably share it. Service was excellent and the staff is super-personable. This was our favorite restaurant in Banff!

Carole M.

Yelp
In the heart of Banff, pedestrians area Louisiana cuisine Made a reservation earlier in the day as the place is small inside. They offer patio too Friendly server and good food The portions are big Big variety menu reasonable prices

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Be prepared to wait - it's a tiny place and on a Sunday morning at 10:40 we waited about 15 minutes. Menu is huge! And the portions are as well - share! We had: wafflewich, poutine and the Pork Belly BLT. Flavors were all good. All were huge - we barely ate 1/2 of each. The BLT was good but not possible to eat as a sandwich - everything was too thick to even attempt to make it edible as a sandwich. The wafflewich was delicious - best thing we ordered. The Poutine was good but not really poutine. The andouille sausage was sweet not spicy. Service was very pleasant

Sheila K.

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurants in Banff, definitely must go if you visit! We came around 9:45am on a weekday and there was still a wait to get seated. They give you a buzzer and told us to stay within 2 blocks of the restaurant so we roamed around while we waited. We ordered New Orlean's breakfast, Southern Comfort, orange juice and root beer. The Southern Comfort was bomb!! The potatoes were crispy, the chicken fried steak was juicy and not dry, eggs were poached perfectly, and the hollandaise sauce was full of flavor and so tasty! It was such a delicious meal, everything tasted great together. The New Orlean's breakfast was good as well, the pancake was not too sweet. The portion of the meals were huge! I was only able to eat half of my food. We were also a big fan of the maple syrup, yum! Would for sure recommend this place and we'd be back!

Steve V.

Yelp
Food was delicious and great service Good proportions and tasty . You may have to wait for your meal so make sure you get to make a reservation or get on the waiting list. You will not be disappointed. Have a great meal!

Lee Ann P.

Yelp
Very cute little cafe in Banff! I had a skillet breakfast with eggs, potatoes, sausage, it was delicious! My husband had the Tooloulous BLT and raved about it. Go there!!

Christine R.

Yelp
Worst food and service we have had in all of Banff and Canmore. Seated at 1:50 and wouldn't let us order off the bfast menu which goes to 2p, even tho another server allowed the guys beside me to order bfast. They wouldn't give me a dollop of mayo for my blt, said they would charge me 2.75 . Bread was good but dry. Go figure. Just kinda cold ,unaccommodating and unfriendly.

P I.

Yelp
Oh my god, So this was one of the worst southern food restaurants I've ever tried. Absolutely terrible. First the soup came out not resembling a corn bisque at all. Thank God the slice of cornbread that it came with was OK. BUT our main course!! Urgh!! The catfish dish was completely inedible. Everything tasted bad. I had to return it & said 'Let me just have a small side order of mac & cheese' to simplify. Plus I was still hungry. And oh my god, the portion came out with a dollop of PORK on it & green onions! Whaaat!??!! Who puts that on mac & cheese!! Plus I don't eat meat. A disaster!! My partner ordered the red beans & rice which came out looking horrendous!! He ate it only to end up with horrible upset stomach that night & running to the bathroom. So definitely cannot recommend it. Sorry. So many other places to choose from. Wish we made a different choice for sure! :-(

Lisa L.

Yelp
Entree portions are generous. I tried the Taste of N'Awlins which was three different dishes in one: Creole Jambalaya, Shrimp & Lobster Etouffée & Seafood Sausage Gumbo served over Cajun Dirty Rice. There were a lot of veggies in the Etouffée and gumbo. One of these was kind of spicy. The corn bread was huge-it was okay, I'm more familiar with sweeter corn bread. I tried a little bit of the Shrimp & Grits Yaya. The grits definitely were cheesy-very rich. The cup of soup was small. The fried pickle appetizer was crunchy and tasty. Make sure to show your Key to Banff savings key card to get 10% off your entrees!

Yelp
Excellent service and breakfast. Great place to have a late breakfast with the dogs. Huge portions.

Lulu L.

Yelp
One of the best decisions we made while choosing a place for our last brunch in Banff before heading back home, out of the many restaurants in Banff, this spot is worth the try. Their food tasted delicious with a significant amount of serving. Jordan's Jamboree ($16.50) -waffle with seasonal fresh berries, bananas Rancheros Incredabalos ($14.95) -fresh avocado, salsa, cheddar jack cheese Duck Duck Benny ($15.95) -bbq pulled duck, caramelized onions and hollandaise sauce, with cheesy garlic frits ($3.25) Cowboy Fricassee Hash ($16.95) -scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, Bacon's and onions topped with cheddar cheese, pancake and toast. Coffee, Tea, Orange Juice Every bite was awe of yumminess; their pancake reminded us back home of what our grandmother used to make, and their potatoes also reminded us of the fresh harvest potatoes back in the Philippines. They have plenty of sauce to choose from, and my sister loved the hot sauce. She bought two bottles to bring home. Highly recommended for a whole brunch; expect to wait 20-40 minutes if you're not early.

Peter W.

Yelp
Put your name in. grab a beeper and walk around. Worth the wait. enjoyed the healthy food and great service. Wanted to return but didn't make it next ttime for sure

Michelle F.

Yelp
Service is subpar. Food is passable for okay. Good location on banff Avenue. But I'd say its a miss. Affordable prices. I've had friends always rave about this place. But after visiting a few times, I feel like its a meh. Its affordable for banff. Prices all range under $25 which is cheap for banff standards where most meals cost over $50 a person. But it shows in the plating. I ordered the eggs benedict crab cake, and it came with just one tiny crab cake cut in half with no bread to give it substance. The creole sauce was flavourless and gross, so the dish was extremely hard to swallow. Luckily there was hardly any food on the plate to eat. As plating was 3/4 of deep fried potatoes. To top it off the server dropped dirty utensils on me when clearing my plates ruining my clothing with creole tomato sauce stains. I know its an accident but servers should not pile dirty dishes in front of guests rather just remove them from the table or stack in the middle. It was very very careless. The food on other visits were okay too, nothing worth remembering and my visits here are not too memorable. So clearly the food didn't impressive me on other visits either. As a regular in banff, there's lots of better places to eat. But I wouldn't make a point of putting this on your list of places to eat at in banff unless everything else is full.

Steven J.

Yelp
We happened to pop in here for a late breakfast on a busy weekend and only had a 20-minute wait for a table. Service was quick and excellent. The food came out quick for how busy it was and was delicious. The chicken fried steak was a little crispier than I typically like, but in the Eggs Benedict it worked well and had a delicious Hollandaise. The buttermilk biscuit is a side to skip, I'm not sure if it was the altitude, but it was very small and dense, especially for the price. Definitely get in early, especially on the weekend, but well worth the wait.

Michelle D.

Yelp
Breakfast was BOMB I've never had a chicken fried steak in the form of a Benedict dish and it did not disappoint. Restaurant is fairly small and they were pretty busy when we went but our service was pretty quick and had no complaints here. Only thing I'd say is the drinks could use a slightly heavier pour as it did not feel like there was much alcohol in there. If we were in town longer i would've wanted to come back to try out their lunch menu. Would recommend!

Roni L.

Yelp
huge breakfast portions. good lunch portions. service was a bit slow considering we missed the breakfast rush and beat the lunch rush on a weekday.

Sugunthan S.

Yelp
I had a chance to try Tooloulou's for breakfast while in Banff and I think the experience was overrated. They have a creative menu and the dishes come out colourful and appetizing however the pancakes and french toast come out dry and tasteless. Also, the pancakes were slightly burnt on the bottom. The colourful fruits is what makes the breakfast. The coffee is also disappointing. With limited seating inside Tooloulou's, the restaurant is at full seating capacity by 10 AM. I think the creative presentation of the restaurant and dishes is what draws customers in and possibly the limited breakfast places in the area. I only had a chance to try out their breakfast. They did have a different menu for lunch and dinner. The high rating could possibily be from their other menus.

Ruben M.

Yelp
Searching Banff for dinner on the first evening, we saw several places to get out of the light rain. Being from America and having visited New Orleans and were familiar with the cajun flavors and food. Tooloulous offered a chance for us to have that for dinner. Expecting authentic cajun from a national park in another country is of course a bit much, but we knew the flavors would be approximate not exact walking into it. What we were not expecting was the extra flavors that probably should not have been included. I ordered a blackened catfish over rice, some shrimp and butter grits, and a Moscow mule. The waiter was nice enough, he was new to Canada from the Ukraine. I explained the Moscow mule and the bartender did his best to improvise. It basically tasted almost like a ginger ale. I went back to talk to the bartender and from what I gathered he poured the ginger beer over ice and a shot of vodka. It did not really tasted like an alcoholic drink nor did it taste like a Moscow mule. The bartender reluctantly added another shot of vodka since the ratio was no where near a cocktail more like someone spiking a soda with a shot of vodka. I walked back to my seat and the food was on its way. The presentation looked ok, my blacked catfish came on a bed of rice and on top of an iron skillet. And this is where things went bad fast. The catfish was fine, salty, but then when I tasted the rice, there was this odd extra taste. I couldn't place it. Almost a dirty rag taste. But no, it was something else. It was rust. I tasted the rice again to focus on the flavor, and indeed it was rust. I told this to the waiter, who then told what looked like the manager. I explained to them manager perhaps it was being washed with soap and water and then rusting. It just wasn't being cured so that it could cover up the iron. I got a dirty look. No acknowledgement and definitely no attempt to compensate the uneaten food. I would not recommend eating here, just wait to visit the American south if you want cajun flavors. Banff has a lot of other little restaurants with good food and better manager customer service. For alcohol there are plenty of places who know how to make a Moscow mule, even one that has their own take on it.

Sam G.

Yelp
Great place in the town of Banff, service is wonderful and our server was very personable. We watched him speak to two ladies who wondered if the limes in the margarita were fresh or if the shrimp (keep in mind this is in the middle of the rockies) were fresh, he was so sweet and so funny that I almost laughed out loud a few times. The food was pretty good, massive servings and very filling. I am in love with their hush puppies! Definitely a must try when you are in Banff.

Mitt N.

Yelp
Had to try Tooloulou's to see what Rocky Mountain Cajun might be like. Started with cowboy cajun soup and was impressed with the freshness of the vegetables immediately. Good taste. Something for them to be proud of. Their fried green tomatoes were delightfully spicy and corn-breaded. Not like what I'm used to in the South, but a tasty adventure of their own. I had British Columbian salmon and it was just fine. Served with balsamic vinegar infused green beans which were surprisingly good. The shrimp and grits were more like the Southern versions. Finished with bananas Foster... very nice. I heartily recommend this restaurant, not for authentic Cajunness, but for the chef's willingness to invent. The service is enthusiastically and vigorously attentive, helpful and friendly. Really a jewell in these mountains of Banff.

Valerie B.

Yelp
We were given a buzzer and told that it would be a 20 minute break. Breakfast was decent. Service was good. My husband had chicken waffle and I had a spinach mushroom omelette. Prices are fair for Banff. The food was decent

James F.

Yelp
Great service other than being very busy. The food is delicious and portions are large. Indoor and outdoor seating choices. Busy little space.

Sherry J.

Yelp
We did not have meals, we ordered hush puppies, Boudin balls, and red beans and rice. The hushpuppies were the size of tennis balls and had been cooked long before our order. When I mentioned it to thewaiter he said "yeah we don't make food to order". The boudin balls were tasted like a regular (dry) meatball with rice and spice thrown in it, nothing close to fresh boudin sausage from NOLA. They used kidney beans for the red beans and rice, also not authentic. The flavor of the rice and beans were OK but dry, certainly better than the other two items we ordered but definitely not like authentic NOLA food. I was so excited when I saw the menu unfortunately we were very disappointed.

Alisha S.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning around 11 and had to wait 30 minutes for a table, so my friend and I went to grab coffee. We didn't know we couldn't bring our coffee into this restaurant, so they took it from us and kept it in the back (kinda sucked). I ordered the salmon benedict and had high hopes, but it was very average. My friend ordered a hash and also agreed the taste was quite average. I will say the portion size is great for the price. Took a while to get our check and our coffees back, but they were really busy.

Sam R.

Yelp
This is a review on Tooloulou's breakfast offerings. My dad and I came here around 10:30 AM on a Tuesday. We were told it would be a 30-40 wait but was thankfully closer to 25. Our server was a very nice young man whom I enjoyed talking with. I ordered a bunch of a la cart items: one "Makin' Bacon" pancake ($9.95), 1 egg ($3.25) over medium, and one biscuit ($2.95). My dad got eggs and toast. Their system for speciality pancakes was a little strange. It was $15.95 for 2, but as I don't generally have a large appetite, I asked for one. My server told me for one they cut the price in half and add $2. I realize they do that so you'll be inclined to go for the better deal and get 2, but man, $10 is a lot for a single pancake! The food came out in about 10 mins. The pancake itself tasted decent and was well-cooked, with lots of bacon stuffed inside. But it came with a caramel drizzle and powdered sugar on top, which was not indicated on the menu. I saw that real maple syrup was an extra $3, but I was expecting at least the fake Butterworth's-style syrup that most places have. I don't think the sweet toppings complemented my pancake that well - I would have preferred the bacon to be candied, instead. My egg was alright. I would have preferred the yolk to be a bit runnier. It felt closer to over hard to me. The biscuit was good! My dad's said his toast and eggs were your standard breakfast fare. We had heard from a couple locals that this was the best breakfast around. I thought what I got was alright with friendly and prompt service. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back but I would eat here again! Just would get a different type of pancake or something else.

Krista P.

Yelp
Definitely unique dishes here. The breakfast poutine was great! So savory, but not over salted. The hollandaise sauce was delicious. Although, I wouldn't have minded some brown gravely for dipping as well. This place had a nice cajon flair. A bit of a wait, but well worth it!

Michael R.

Yelp
Very good breakfast!! We came here based on all the positive reviews on a Wednesday morning. We were told the wait was around 20 minutes but were seated on the outdoor patio in about 10 minutes. The service was excellent throughout the entire meal. We ordered the New Orleans breakfast, the cowboy scramble and the wrap it up. Everyone really loved their dishes. The potatoes on the New Orleans breakfast were so crispy and tasty. The sausage tasted very fresh like it was made in house. The dinner menu looked awesome so we will be back for some good Southern food!

Danielle D.

Yelp
Food was unimpressive, if you happen to stumble upon here, I'd recommend getting the catfish po'boy since it was the only thing we enjoyed and don't really recommend any of the other dishes we ordered. Nice server though and food took awhile to come out.

Arlene S.

Yelp
Came here after a hike. We order a catfish po boy sandwich and cowboy Cajun soup. I love the catfish, it is grilled to perfection. Every bite is so flavorful and light texture. We ordered Cajun fries but doesn't have much seasoning on top. The cowboy Cajun soup tasted like American chilli but less chunky. Personally, I'm not a huge fan. The waitresses were super friendly and check in with us very frequently to make sure we got everything we need.

Christian G.

Yelp
Let's start with the positives: - THANK GOD FOR THE WATER!!! I don't know how I could've survived the biscuit and pancake without it. - The sausage was pretty decent and so were the potatoes. Now for the negatives: - Service was not good. Our waitress either forgot about us or decided to ignore us, which was kinda odd as we're fairly normal customers. - Our food was brought out cold. Our theory is that maybe our waitress forgot about our food and then decided to ignore us because she felt bad. - Even if the food was warm, it wasn't good. Eggs tasted like they were made with powder, waffles and pancakes were bland and dryer than the Sahara, and the only thing on this earth dryer than the waffles and pancakes was the biscuit. I legit had to get a drink of water to swallow at one point. Overall, we had some high hopes for this place as we love southern food but we will not be going back any time soon.

Ceci L.

Yelp
Came here during covid dine in restrictions so we could only get takeout. Should've called ahead...it was about a 25 min wait for our food. We ordered the pork belly benny. The pork belly was kind of hard, but the eggs were perfectly cooked and I liked the Cajun hollandaise sauce. The hashbrowns were also perfectly cooked. If I come here again I would order one of their other bennies. It was our first meal of the day so we were about to order another egg dish, but then we saw the creole jambalaya bayou bowl in their lunch menu. I would definitely recommend this dish! It comes with a good amount of sausage & chicken. The server asked if we wanted white rice or dirty rice. Go with the dirty rice, it's cooked in broth with spices and was packed with flavour. This dish comes with a slice of cornbread, which was stale so we threw that away.

Yelp
I can't say this was the worst gumbo I have ever had, because I do remember one in Denver that was worse, but this was not really a stew, was way too dry, and I counted two shrimp and one piece of sausage, and I'm many things, but vegetarian is not one of them. My buddy was also unimpressed with his steak sandwich, but at least he ate it. Our server was lovely and it was a beautiful day in Banff, but I'm sure I won't be back.

Yelp
This is a 5-star place! I am from the Seattle area and this competes with everyone there, including high dollar places. Those other reviews need their head examined. Have eaten here 3x the last 10 days.

Yelp
A must in Banff. This hole in the wall restaurant is conveniently located on a side street off the main street of Banff. The restaurant has some issues managing space with the covid restrictions but they manage by only allowing a certain about of people at a time. I ordered the vegetarian hash which came with lots of veggies and a pancake. Food was delicious and their selection of hot sauces is incredible. The prices match the quality of the food. The service was prompt and courteous. Not much to change about this restaurant maybe to add some exclusive vegan options.

Yelp
Tooloulous is one of my favourite spot in Banff but I rarely get to go because it's always busy. They do take reservations so I highly recommend making one. Thankfully when I was looking for a late lunch a couple weeks ago, there was space on their patio. Like many restaurants in Banff, Tooloulous has been able to move some seating outside thanks to roads being restricted to foot traffic. On a hot summer day, it was so nice to sit outside sipping "Lou's Crushed Margarita" while I waited for my meal. Banff needs to seriously consider making this permanent. While Tooloulous isn't the most vegetarian-friendly restaurant, the options that they have are amazing. And for those that eat and love seafood, you're going to be in heaven. I went with the fried green tomato po'boy with a side of Cajun fries and it was fantastic. I loved how the tomatoes were perfectly crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. The portions are huge so I had plenty of fries leftover for a late-night snack.

Yelp
My family and I were hyped to check this place out because I live Cajun food, so you can see how high my expectations were. We went here for dinner even though the photos and reviews we saw were mainly for breakfast. Calamari: - It was okay, with a little bit of crunch. Tasted better when I squeezed the chili pepper on top of it. Catfish bites: - Very soggy. Disappointing and wouldn't recommend it. Crab legs: - it tasted old and was soggy. Not worth it. Shrimp: - it was big and juicy, tasted decent. Cajun fries: - honestly the best thing that we ordered from the menu. Gumbo: - totally not expecting it to look like this and should look more like a soup. It tasted decent though! Also, the Come in a glass was literally that. We thought it would be those drinks that came in Coke bottled. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're looking for authentic, Cajun food.

Yelp
This restaurant is a great place for breakfast and brunch! We actually never came for anything else, so I cannot comment on other food. Portions were huge. Kids loved French toast and waffles. They definitely could have split one order.
