TOP Hotel Hochgurgl

A truly amazing experience. I travel a lot with work and stay in some lovely (global brand) hotels and this beats most. It feels like a 5 star hotel. A beautiful Alpine building in a beautiful location with a lovely sun terrace.||||Rooms are lovely, modern with an traditional feel, spotlessly clean and with excellent facilities including a Lavzza coffee machine. The spa is also beautiful with a very large pool and access to a heated outside pool and a quite solarium with great views. There's also treatments on offer. ||||The hotel has an attached ski shop with a boot storage room and access straight onto the slopes with a 4 person chair lift and gondola. ||||There's a lovely welcome with a complimentary welcome drink and we were given a quick private tour of the hotel which is a nice touch. The restaurant is great, with an amazing and varied breakfast buffet. Dinner itself wouldn't be out of place in a top restaurant. ||||But, the best thing is the staff. EVERYONE was friendly and professional, from the reception staff to the cleaning staff. A very special shout-out to Peter the restaurant manager and even more so to Dimitirije and Josip our waiters who provided the most amazing service through our stay. ||||Would absolutely recommend the Top Hotel, the management have done an amazing job with it.

Very nice mountain hotel with a top wellness area, big pool and multiple saunas. Everything very clean. The cuisine really excellent. Breakfast was everytime a refreshing start to the day and the dinner was always a paradise for any gourmet. The personal was very friendly - especially our waiters Ante and Mateo very professional and always in a good mood! Thank you for this experience - we will definitely come again!

The second time we’ve stayed at the Top. It is an excellent hotel, notable staff Sebastián at front desk, Otto who kindly served our fondue and the lovely Argentinian waitress (sorry didn’t get her name) in the main restaurant. The housekeeping let the team down with the previous guests rubbish, sock and stylus left in the room along with a stain on the duvet - you really do need to get on top of that issue!! Everyone is allowed one mistake. However, the rest of the experience was so good it didn’t spoil the experience. We will be back.

The hotel bar was easily one of the highlights of my stay. The atmosphere was relaxed, stylish, and perfect for winding down in the evening — but what truly made it special was the bartender, Otto. Otto is originally from Colombia and now lives in Barcelona, and he brings that warm, effortless charisma that makes you feel welcome immediately. He’s genuinely friendly, wonderfully chatty without ever being intrusive, and clearly passionate about what he does. The cocktails were excellent, but the real magic was the conversation — Otto has that rare talent of making a simple drink at the bar feel like a small experience, not just a transaction. If you’re staying at the hotel, do yourself a favor and stop by for a drink. Chances are you’ll leave in a better mood than when you arrived. Highly recommended.

We had fondue evening yesterday at Top Hotel Hochgurgl and Otto made the whole experience exceptional. His diligence and attention to detail were genuinely unparalleled, he was always one step ahead without ever being intrusive. Everything ran smoothly because he was constantly watching the small things: timing, refills, clearing plates at exactly the right moments, and making sure everyone had what they needed before we even asked. He was calm, professional, and quietly in control of the table, which let us relax and just enjoy the evening. It’s rare to come across front-of-house service this consistent and thoughtful. Otto is a real credit to the hotel — 5 stars without hesitation.

Exceptional from start to finish. Special mention to Dimitrije, Yousef, Mateo, Serena and Balentine, you are all exceptional. Top Hotel is a lovely hotel with nice big rooms, great food and 20m from the piste and lift. What sets it apart is the service. I would give the service 6 stars if I could. Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful.

Great hotel with excellent staff that really care, which is rare nowadays. Food superb, facilities excellent and location very good. Best skiing hotel we've stayed at for years...
