Lovely place to stay. excellent hotel, lovely room, fantastic location. I'm definitely staying here again, but I could do with a bar by the pool that's the only thing that's missing really... it's not difficult to sell bottled beer. You could get the lady in the massage shop to sell it.. it's not difficult

This place is old and run down But, it's cheap for private rooms with ensuites. You just need to know beforehand or you'll be surprised. Looks like there are newer rooms but mine was definitely an older one Probably wouldn't stay here again, but great location Pool is nice but could do with a clean...whole place needs a clean

Our Time in Chiang Mai is done for now, We stayed for 5 nights as part of our worldwidw travelling on a budget LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION we stayed at the Top North Hotel in old city, great location and price at £17per night but really needs a full renovation. . ROOMS: Comfy bed and aircon is okay, just REALLY LOUD! Linen had holes in it but clean. Bathroom again cleaned, but a lot of mould which not even a deep clean jetwash would shift. If this place gets a refurbished it could be amazing but the price would reflect it. £17 per night - book early ACTIVITIES: The pool is clean and cool so perfect - dated needs some TLC and the grates around it are wobbly and brittle from the exposure to sun. You can book all your activities at a desk in Reception, They are comparable to the countless vendors on the main streets and the hotels location means a hotel pickup for most if not all of them. THE FOOD, we didn't get breakfast in our booking and after trying it on the first day glad. Its only 80 Baht (£2) but comparable to places nearby is a bit much for a coffee, 1 slice of wafer thin fried ham, hot dog sausage, fried tomato, egg (only fried) and a slice of very sweet white bread and marmalade. 2 other choices were fish and porridge or fried egg on fried rice. You can get better for the same money! POLLUTION 😶‍🌫️Caught the thickening smoke as the burning season is now well under way now (March 2nd) pretty bad but created a gorgeous sunset 🌅photo. Loads of air-conditioned bars/restaurants to escape the heat and smoke. MASSAGE a traditional Thai massage can be done at the hotel but again 💆‍♀️💆‍♂️Shop around down the side streets for a cheaper massage

Great budget friendly hotel with one of the most lovely managers you could meet, just a shame the room's are very run down and all the old men round the pool mean if your a woman or with your partner you just can't use it.

I would like to give this hotel a better review however my room was right next to the Muay Thai fighting which is the loudest thing I've ever experienced in my life The announcer is literally screaming into a super amplified speaker. There's no way you can sleep through this from 9:00 till 12:00 many nights a week it was terrible. The walls are paper thin anytime anybody anywhere sneezes or closes a door it jars you out of sleep. All the noise from the street comes flying in. There is always people yelling in the parking lot echoing through the place. I guess if you're a city person that won't bother you. Also connecting to the Wi-Fi was a nightmare. Every time you leave the hotel or wake up in the morning you have to re-log in. It does not reconnect. So three or four times a day you have to find the password and sign back in. Otherwise it's a nice hotel with a nice pool. The room was basic, clean, and fine for the price. Some of the less expensive rooms are really old and really dirty. For a little more you got a better room still very noisy. Management is nice. I had to move to a different hotel.

Most people will complain about the noise by Muay Thai next building. From 9pm till 12 midnight. Switch on the TV the balance of the noise. Then u will be able to sleep. Secret Recipe

We walked in with another couple and did a booking for two rooms in person because it was close to a Chinese traditional medicine clinic that we wanted to go to in the late afternoon. Sadly we found out that the price that we paid was more than 50% higher than was available on Agoda (we paid Bt900 and change versus 600 and change on the internet.) The location was perfect for what we wanted and the swimming pool and general presentation of the place is very pleasant. However I don't think our bathroom has been properly cleaned for about 10 years. There is lots of mold everywhere. The sink fitting is so loose that it rotates and has to be held with one hand while you turn the water on. When you do turn the water on a lot of rust comes out with the water at the beginning. The same is true of the other water fittings. I think it may be perhaps that there are iron pipes that are badly rusted. If you get the internet deal it's probably worth it. But the drop in price is very much overpriced. Sorry.
