Our Time in Chiang Mai is done for now,
We stayed for 5 nights as part of our worldwidw travelling on a budget
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
we stayed at the Top North Hotel in old city, great location and price at £17per night but really needs a full renovation. .
ROOMS:
Comfy bed and aircon is okay, just REALLY LOUD!
Linen had holes in it but clean.
Bathroom again cleaned, but a lot of mould which not even a deep clean jetwash would shift.
If this place gets a refurbished it could be amazing but the price would reflect it.
£17 per night - book early
ACTIVITIES:
The pool is clean and cool so perfect - dated needs some TLC and the grates around it are wobbly and brittle from the exposure to sun.
You can book all your activities at a desk in Reception, They are comparable to the countless vendors on the main streets and the hotels location means a hotel pickup for most if not all of them.
THE FOOD, we didn't get breakfast in our booking and after trying it on the first day glad. Its only 80 Baht (£2) but comparable to places nearby is a bit much for a coffee, 1 slice of wafer thin fried ham, hot dog sausage, fried tomato, egg (only fried) and a slice of very sweet white bread and marmalade. 2 other choices were fish and porridge or fried egg on fried rice. You can get better for the same money!
POLLUTION
😶🌫️Caught the thickening smoke as the burning season is now well under way now (March 2nd) pretty bad but created a gorgeous sunset 🌅photo.
Loads of air-conditioned bars/restaurants to escape the heat and smoke.
MASSAGE a traditional Thai massage can be done at the hotel but again
💆♀️💆♂️Shop around down the side streets for a cheaper massage
