"A Unique Garden in the World's Smallest Town Durbuy, Belgium, claims the title of the "World's Smallest Town," (or sometimes city, depending which translation you use from the French). This dubious honor dates from 1331, when the town was elevated to the rank of city by John I, Count of Luxemburg, and King of Bohemia. Even though the population dropped to a few hundred residents, Durbuy kept its designation. However, the moniker doesn’t exactly hold true anymore. In 1977, Durbuy amalgamated with 40 surrounding villages. Either way, it's a lovely place to visit in Wallonia, and a great way to pass an hour is by taking a stroll through the topiary garden. There are more than 250 topiaries in the garden, some of which are over 120 years old. And, being Belgium, the topiaries go beyond the typical animals and geometric shapes to include a dash of quirkiness. You can admire a green Manneken Pis (Belgium's famous peeing boy), kayakers, and even an homage to Pamela Anderson at the beach. Thoroughly enjoyed this local park packed with a wide range of sculptures. Very peaceful... Enjoyed a gentle walk around and sitting from time time as benches Nd chairs made available. Unfortunately the Cafe is shut outside of the summer season but there were a small selection of drink from distribution machines. There is a small shop offering all types of souvenirs. In my case I bought a soft toy for my dog 😅 PARKING There is a large parking area in the front of the Park but you do have to pay. That said, you can easily park your car there all day and enjoy a leisurely walk up to the village. Only 5 mins aqay

An interesting park with many shaped box and other plants. Some of the plants are not in great shape because of age and disease. You can buy a combined ticket to reduce prices a bit.

Quirky and an entertaining hour or two. Slightly down-at-heel - most topiary items in need of TLC and particularly weeding!! Seemed to be just one member of staff on duty for the whole site when we visited. Not many facilties open and a bit sad looking, but still enjoyable. Most hedges were recognisable 😊

Small, but nice, relaxing, parking right in front door (payed), wc, restaurant available, only symbolic entrance fee, small souvenir shop, nice walkings around green statues, you can even see a small lizards, butterflies, bugs, have nice view at city center buildings, can sit for a while and relax, beautiful, clean, fragrant

We recently visited the ISKCON temple in Durbuy, It was a truly serene and beautiful experience. The temple's peaceful atmosphere and stunning surroundings made it a perfect place for reflection. The temple food was delicious and served with great care. Durbuy itself was charming and picturesque, adding to the overall joy of the visit.

Yelp
The park is called, in English, Park of Topiary. In case you didn't know it (and I didn't), topiary is the art of hedge and bush trimming with the end result being shapes, such as animals and whatever else takes the fancy of the guy with the trimmers. This park is said to be the largest in the world of its kind that is opened to the public. So, I guess there are larger parks but we aren't allow to see them, so this one will have to do. The park, which sits on the River Ourthe, just across the bridge from the castle, is the brain child and also the life's work of Albert Navez. Here you'll enjoy a walk through the park and (hopefully) admire all the work and designs of Mr. Navez. You will find hedges and bushes cut and pruned that now represent buxomy naked women lying in bath tubs and on lounge chairs, some peacocks, a life-sized Mannekin Pis (like the one in Brussels) and my favorites, a couple of crocodiles. There are of course many more. There is a shop there for your souvenir needs and also a small cafe.

Yelp
Total waste of money and time. Sculptures not finished or just ruined by weather. Expensive (4.5 eur) for a 10 mins walk around the garden. Explanation leaflet not finished (text missing). Not worth it, but nothing else to do here.
