(2024) Great tour. Really enjoyed the education process and how they conservatively restored the building and area. Also your whisky is absolutely fantastic and I look forward to buying your first 10 and 12 year whiskies! Even your 3 and 4 years blow other whiskies out of the water. Thank you for finally shipping to America!

Beautiful property overlooking Cullin Sound features a delightful range of scotch whiskeys and gins. Cafe and gift shop also very nice. Staff are lovely.

We had a whirlwind visit, but it was hugely positive. Due to our own bad organisation we missed out on booking a tour AND arrived after the cafe had closed - no chance of a whisky flight! However the shop staff were very accommodating, and helped my partner pick out a lovely whisky to take home. They were also super friendly to my dog Ozzy, who very much appreciated the cuddles and biscuits! Note that dogs are not allowed in the cafe, but are allowed in the courtyard table area as well as the shop.

What a joy after visiting the huge set up at Talisker and running away fast . Here we had personal service by Audrey . Great informative tour and tasting of this young whisky . . Wonderful friendly staff and a gorgeous fresh lunch Can’t praise it highly enough

Fantastic and beautiful distillery. We had Kate as our wonderful tour guide. She said she was quite new to the job but she pulled off the tour perfectly. Very passionate and knowledgeable about the whiskey. I'm not a huge whiskey drinker myself, this was for my partner, who loved it. But by looking around and hearing the effort that goes into it, I can see why the distillery does so well. Thank you

Torabhaig Distillery is the second single malt distillery on the Isle of Skye, following Talisker. Its roots lie on a historic farmstead dating back to the mid-18th century, built on the site of an Iron Age fort. Planning for the distillery began in the early 2000s, with Mossburn Distillers acquiring the site and completing the restoration and construction. Spirit production commenced in 2017, making it the first new Skye distillery in nearly 190 years. The distillery emphasizes artisanal craftsmanship with traditional copper pot stills, wooden washbacks, and local water sources from nearby burns. Torabhaig is known for its well-tempered peat character, combining smoke, maritime influence, and the unique terroir of Skye. Its “Legacy Series” bottlings, beginning in 2021, showcase this distinctive style and have been highly regarded by whisky enthusiasts. Visitor Info: Guided tours and tastings are available; advance booking is recommended. The distillery includes a visitor centre, where tours explain production and culminate in whisky sampling. Ideal for visitors seeking a peaty, island-style single malt experience in a historic and scenic setting.

We travelled all day from Oban using several modes of transport to visit Torabhaig Distillery, arriving 30 minutes late for the 4 pm tour due to a rescheduled ferry from Mallaig — a delay we had informed the distillery about in advance. We realized that joining mid-tour would not be possible, but we still made the effort to get there, expecting at least to taste the drams we had paid for. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. The staff did not seem particularly friendly or accommodating, and the overall experience fell short of the hospitality we had hoped for — especially after such a challenging journey.

Torabhaig is a very new distillery, but it’s already producing some excellent whisky. The visit is genuinely enjoyable, and the guide is incredibly knowledgeable, sharing tons of fascinating stories along the way. A really memorable experience and well worth a stop if you’re on Skye.

Yelp
Fun distillery. They offer distillery tours, but the tour can only be in small groups, so make sure you reserve ahead of time. They are very knowledgeable about their scotch. It's cool learning about how they built their distillery and built off an old building and figuring out how to get the stills inside. I didn't like the tastings experience as much - I was expecting more. The grounds that the distillery is on is beautiful. They taught me the differences in the regional scotches and Scotland. This was valuable. I found a scotch I like that I can buy in the States. In would recommend a visit if it's in your schedule.

Yelp
A new distillery as of 2017, these folks were fantastic. We showed up unannounced while we waited to board our ferry off of the island. We missed the tour but the staff went out of their way to accommodate us giving us a quick history of the distillery, let us peek at the stills and see the processing, and even sample a wee dram. Excellent customer service, passionate staff, friendly, and top class professionals. I'll be eagerly awaiting the day when I come across a bottle of Torabhaig. Special thanks to Jamie and Graham for their hospitality and class.
