Wonderful place with a small harbour and a water bus stop. It's a tiny, almost deserted island close to Venice. There are only about 11 inhabitants. Tourists can rest in an only one or two restaurants, there is also a souvenir stall. But the must seen points are of course an old church, some ruins, a bridge and excellent Italian houses along the canal path leading to the basilica.

Peaceful and scenic. Very close to nature. Awesome view of airport. However everything closes at 4:30pm in March. Water bus at 6:15,7:15 etc. it’s quite close from Burano.

Torcello Island is located about ten kilometers northeast of the main island of Venice. Travel guides often suggest that tourists visit Burano Island first before taking a "detour" to explore Torcello. However, while the journey from the main island to Torcello is quite straightforward, the return trip requires more careful planning as the routes to and from the island are not the same. In fact, Torcello's terrain consists of sandy shores, salt marshes, and scattered hills, giving it a primitive and undeveloped appearance with very few inhabitants. Compared to the main island or nearby Burano, it's quite apt to humorously refer to Torcello as a "desolate island." When I initially planned my trip, it was a single phrase in the guidebook—"Torcello Island is the birthplace of Venice"—that sparked my historical curiosity, otherwise, I wouldn't have considered visiting.

Really small island with a couple of nice restaurants and a beautiful old church in the not so far end of the island. Worth a quick visit if you have time.

We loved Torcello! Venice is so busy, so it was very nice to go out Torcello, which was the oldest settlement in the lagoon. It was so peaceful, and the churches and the island were very picturesque. If you're a hardcore tourist, this might not be the best stop. But if you want to get away from it and enjoy some simple beauty, this is a great place!

An island with one road in and out. Main attraction is a church at the end of the road. Tickets are required to enter.

A lovely change of pace from Venice as there are few people living here and few houses. Two churches to see, one charging 5 euros entrance the other free to visit. A few places to eat and buy food and drink. Was part of a three Island tour.
