Stopped by this yakitori restaurant after a sake tour, and it was the perfect place to have dinner. The food was delicious especially the nicely seasoned kushiyaki, crispy fried chicken skins, Caesar salad, and pickles that paired perfectly with sake and beer. Every dish was full of flavor and cooked just right.

A really fantastic atmosphere .. Yakitori are to die for ( we tried chicken and duck ), the best fried chicken skin I havetastesd in my life. Good options of sake to taste which are great to pair with food. We ended up buying a bottle of sake at the shop attached.

Food was 10/10! Fast and deliciously. We ordered a bunch of skewers to share, wings and the Oyako chicken. Very filling and yummy!

Very cheap meal, came out to roughly 1000 yen per person for filling portions. The staff do not speak English and it was a little hectic ordering, but everything we ordered tasted good. The yakitori skewers are very small portions so order extra.

After doing some walking around in Kyoto, it was nice to visit this place on my way back to Osaka. It was a good place to eat and the staff were amazing. Bit more expensive for a izakaya, but it nice to try something different. The chicken dishes were really tasty. And we can at the right time, as it can get busy.

The freshest chicken I have had in Japan! Every piece of meat and innards tasted clean, with no foul odour! Service was fast and great! Ordered the spring chicken, which was a seasonal special, and the 6 type tasting set. Absolutely phenomenal! Definitely worth a try if you are in kyoto. Large bottle of warm sake cost only 900 yen.

This is a really convenient place to eat if you are in the area to visit the sake breweries. Ordering is easy as they have an English menu. All of the food I had was tasty and not that expensive. When I visited, there was a bit of a wait to get a seat, but I think it was worth the wait.

We came here as part of a sake tasting your. We were pleasantly that it is a famous free range chicken restaurant! We had the chicken yakitori and chicken donburi. Both were great. The best part was the house brewed cold sake. It was the first but the best sake of our tour!!!

Yelp
First time eating yakitori and started with the best. Absolutely delicious. The chicken skin was crispy and indulgent and the pork belly rich and flavorful!

Yelp
Came here for the 5-course Yakitori. I wasn't impressed. Much of the meat was tough. The sides were decent, but unmemorable. The Yakitori experience was neat. I tried out a few parts of the chicken I hadn't before: hearts and gizzards, and liver. Overall I wasn't blown away by any of the servings. The staff was friendly and attentive, even in spite of my complete lack of Japanese. They provided me with an English menu and even assisted me with charging my phone (a task I found mysteriously frowned upon in most Japanese public places.)

Yelp
Torisei (not just this location) has quickly become one of my favorite places for yakitori. I've never had a full course meal here so i can't speak to that, but I have loved everything i've tried here, including the yakitori of course, and the traditional atmosphere of their original restaurant in Fushimi can't be beat. One cool thing, because this location is connected to the Yamamoto sake brewery, they have freshly pressed unpasteurized sake for a good price that they dish out from a large keg, quite the rarity indeed. As far as i remember they have a set of 5 skewers plus a beer or the fresh pressed sake for about 1000 yen before 7pm or so on weekdays, a perfect snack to break up a walk around the Fushimi sake brewing district. The Kyoto locations should have the same deal too.

Yelp
I was taken here by Japanese friends, and it was a nice experience having yakitori of a nicer scale beyond the hole-in-the-wall cheap sort of restaurant. In addition to the usual cuts of chicken they had some creative seasonal skewers that I really enjoyed, and the traditional atmosphere of the restaurant and surrounding area were a plus. The service was a touch slow, but we were there on a very crowded night. I also had an enjoyable experience at their more centrally located satellite restaurants.

Yelp
good spot to visit after checking out one of the near by sake breweries. this place is really big. i don't know if we were the only tourists, but we were the only westerners. well priced yakitori and sake. they accept credit card.
