San Francisco Bay Area Restaurant and Bar Closures to Know in May 2025 | Eater SF

"Sarah and Evan Rich plan to open a new project inside the former O-toro Sushi location nearby, which indicates O-toro Sushi closed at some point; Tablehopper clocked the Richs’ business application for the space." - Paolo Bicchieri

I stopped in today and was impressed! The poké bowls were flavorful, and honestly just as satisfying as sushi. The ingredients tasted good, and everything was put together beautifully (Amazing presentation). The inside of the restaurant is clean, modern, and really welcoming.

Toro Toro is seriously impressive, The food is great fresh, balanced, full of flavor but what really stands out is the presentation. Every plate looks premium. The box, the setup, the attention to detail… The restaurant décor also hits different. It’s modern, elegant, and the whole place gives off a high-quality vibe the moment you walk in. You can tell they care about the experience just as much as the taste. Overall, if you want sushi that satisfies both your eyes and your appetite, Toro Toro is a guaranteed win.

This place is not kidding when they say that they offer premium fish and fresh ingredients!! Some of the best sushi I’ve had and it keeps its taste even for takeout. The dining area inside the restaurant is pretty small so if you have a party of more than two, I would strongly recommend you consider take out options as they don’t do reservations and there’s no guarantee that you will have space. The packaging is extremely high-quality and elevates the entire experience 5/5 stars

Recently ordered the Tasting Box for Two from Toro Toro in Vaughan. The restaurant was very busy, and I waited about 20 minutes for the box — but it was worth the wait. The platter was beautifully put together and clearly prepared with care. The torched tuna topped with gold was a standout — visually striking and indulgent, adding a luxe touch to the overall presentation. My main complaint is that the platter includes crab sticks. I personally avoid sushi places that use crab sticks, and I’m almost certain this box used to include tempura shrimp before the crab sticks were added, which I preferred. My second issue is that the tasting box is not available on Uber Eats — you have to order it directly from the restaurant. That said, the sushi itself was delicious and well executed, and the presentation really stood out. Overall, a very solid option for sushi in Vaughan, with just a couple of drawbacks to be aware of. Real good spot for some poke. The restaurant itself is right by Vaughan mills but not inside. The location has some seating but not many. The service is quick and they know what they are doing. Decent amount of selection for poke bowls and some sushi as well. Tried the lobster and sushi poke bowl and it was pretty good. May e they can add a little bit more meat for the price but otherwise good.

This is my go to sushi place! Ingredients are fresh and the flavour is amazing! Honestly would not be able to tell you what's my favourite thing from the menu is but definitely not a fan of the black caviar as it tastes like metal. Amazing presentation and quick service! 2 items and you'll definitely be full!

My girlfriend and I are pretty picky about sushi and have tried a lot of places, but Toro Toro is hands down our favorite. The Empress, Dynamite Futomaki, and Kirin Futomaki are always solid, and the karaage chicken is a must. Highly recommend!

I recently ordered the take-out sushi box from Toro Toro in Vaughan, and the experience was disappointing. For the price, I expected much fresher and more flavorful sushi, but everything tasted underwhelming and didn’t feel fresh at all. The box itself looks fancy, but the presentation doesn’t make up for the quality of the food. It felt like more effort went into the packaging than the sushi. The service was okay. What concerned me most is that both my mom and I felt sick afterward, which made the experience even more disappointing. Overall, it just wasn’t worth the price, and I wouldn’t go back. There are better options nearby with fresher sushi and better value.
