"One of my favorite experiences, my husband has joined me for a lot of my pursuit of the 30 stadiums and one of my bucket list items was to go back to Toronto, but I wanted to watch the game from the Marriott hotel that sits in the outfield. Your window opens in your hotel room and you are in the stadium, so you're watching the game from your hotel room, they have seats, you can bring in food."

We love this hotel. Our 2nd time staying here. An easy 10- 15 minute walk from Union station. Our concierge level room was excellent. The concierge lounge was adequate. Breakfast served is good with a reasonable selection. The coffee machine is switched off, outside concierge food hours which was disappointing, but cold drinks are available. Our room looked recently refurbished with a king bed and walk in shower. Modern decor and clean. Personally, didn't like the fancy inroom expresso maker, but i guess that's a personal choice. |The Sportsnet grill is excellent. We visited each night on our return from the Blue Jays games. Great food and service. It's entertaining to watch them put the stadium to bed after a game. The fitness room and swimming pool are both good.

On vacation with my mom. She wasn’t happy with the “luxury” condo we were in so we walked over to the City Centre Marriott. Trevor on the front desk was awesome! Not only did he get us the best possible price on the room, but he also found us a room that we could check into right then. He was friendly and helpful. As we walked into our room, mom said, “I feel like I’m coming home!” (We’ve stayed here before.) It is so nice to end our holiday in a full-service establishment where everyone is welcoming.

My stay at the Toronto Marriott was the best hotel experience I’ve had in Canada, and it was surprisingly cost-effective. The service was outstanding, with friendly and efficient staff ensuring a seamless experience. The gym was a notable highlight—large, well-organized, and fully equipped for a satisfying workout. The room itself was exceptionally spacious and the bed was incredibly comfortable, easily one of the best I've ever slept in, which made for perfect nights' sleep. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring dual sinks and a shower with superb water pressure. This makes the hotel an ideal choice for two travelers, providing ample space and premium amenities at a great value. Overall, the Toronto Marriott stands out not only for its excellent facilities and stellar service but also for its high value, making it a top choice for travelers seeking quality without excessive cost.

We had the chance to stay at the Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel this February. I am so glad we chose this hotel since its staff went above and beyond before and during our stay and only has great things to say. To disconnect and celebrate my spouse's birthday, we traveled to Toronto, which was a great experience. ||Upon arrival, Kevin at the front desk was more than friendly and checked us in quickly to our room. We were generously upgraded to one of the skyboxes, where you could see the Rogers Centre Stadium, with a thoughtful gift provided by Oleg. The view is amazing, and I can only imagine what it would be when the new season comes up, and final touches are being made. With no noise whatsoever during the night, we were able to sleep peacefully. The 1200 sq. ft. suite with two floors is certainly worth it and quite spacious. ||During our stay, we had the chance to visit the gym and pool/jacuzzi area. All the facilities here are modern, and the pool area is worth visiting, especially the jacuzzi/hot tub after a long walk in the city. Their lounge on the sixth floor is spacious and offers breakfast, and some appetizers during certain days of the week. The SportsNet bar/restaurant is worth visiting as well, since everyone was more than friendly, and they have great appetizers and drinks too. ||I would recommend this hotel anytime. It is centrally located, and the level of service provided by all its team members is top-notch. Special thanks to Ryan for going above and beyond to assist in this special occasion, and we will definitely make sure to return back to Toronto and this great hotel.

Google
Nice hotel perfectly situated for exploring downtown Toronto. The room was clean as was the rest of the hotel. The pool was a nice addition to our stay. The breakfasts were good and the view of the bluejays stadium while eating breakfast was just amazing. Our room backed onto railway tracks, but the trains go past so slow, we never heard them. The CN tower and aquarium are less than 5 minutes walk. The train and bus station were a 10/15 minute walk. Taxis were easy to catch out the front of the hotel. We stayed B&B and we had local take away food in the evening after eating out at lunch. There were plenty of food options to choose from and a couple of supermarkets nearby too for drinks and snacks. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We got two rooms over the weekend one for myself and husband and another for my son and his friends for graduation. The hotel staff decorated the room , sent up a beautiful charcuterie board and upgraded their room to a stadium view . What an amazing experience and memories made that they will never forget! The best staff especially Angelica who made this happen and the restaurant staff was amazing too. We typically stay at the Ritz Or Sheraton when in Toronto but we will definitely be back here! Location was great too.

We had a beautiful stay at the Marriott City Centre recently. Stayed a few days and we're able to enjoy the pool, workout and lounge facilities. The Starbucks is in the lobby as well as a great restaurant that overlooks the Blue Jay's field. Very convenient and centrally located. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again. Rod

Loved this hotel. Trevor at the front desk was super helpful. Room was perfect, I was worried about the noise from the train but it was very quiet. Bed was comfortable. Housekeeping was responsive. Loved the bar overlooking the stadium. Will stay here again!

Yelp
Review from 7/2023 Location, location, location. That is what this place has going for it. You can walk anywhere (which we did). The rooms are nice and standard, nothing great, nothing really bad. We valet parked the entire time; just made it easier when we needed the car. The valet was fairly quick except when a game was getting out or starting. We did not want to try to figure out parking as there are many businesses around this hotel. Staff were friendly and had no issues with our stay. Sorry, no pictures.

Angela F.

Yelp
The best part about staying here is the location if you are a tourist. Situated in just a couple minute walk away from the CN tower and Ripleys. The parking is confusing to find. We first arrived at the lobby entrance, saw valet parking was full and then circled around for another 15 minutes till we found the underground parking entrance on the other side (across from the Roger's Centre entrance). Tried checking in via mobile on the Marriott Bonvoy app and getting a mobile key however this did not work. We had to check in at the front desk, which was fine anyway as we ordered the CN tower package and needed to retrieve the tickets as well. Our parking was complementary as part of the package. It turns out the valet will help park for you - no need to self park as this will result in another $40 fee when you exit the lot. The valet service was efficient though (only about 10 minute wait despite it being a busy time) after we checked out from front desk. Note the elevator from the parking lot is separate so you will need to access the other set of elevators to get to your hotel room. As for the swimming pool, not a huge fan of the design - it's not accessible as you need to walk down a set of stairs from the change room to get to the pool. Otherwise, the hotel room itself was spacious. The only thing I noted was the bath tub floor was rusty so doesn't look like it has been maintained well. The rest of the room was quite clean. Overall, it is a decent hotel room with an average price. The location is its greatest advantage.

Arin M.

Yelp
During our stay, we had zero issues. We travelled with a toddler and appreciate how quiet our room was. This was a nice hotel and close to CN tower and walking distance to restaurants and some other attractions. Staff was friendly. We went with Valet parking and honestly didn't have issue finding it. For few occasions that we needed the car, the Valet was super quick to get our car. When we were eating our Buffet breakfast, it just clicked that we were attached to Blue Jays Stadium. There was no game, but what a view. Not sure if it was a scheduling glitch but our bellboy during checkout was being pulled in all directions. He was constantly being approached by other customers and we we were waiting to get our luggages. It's not a complaint by any means toward him. A valet staff pinched in and helped us get our luggages.

Yelp
Nice location with underground parking... Probably in the largest parking lot I've ever been in! Very cool bar that looks into baseball stadium. Staff was friendly, beds were borderline comfortable... They upgraded us to a king even though I purposely picked a queen because that's what we prefer. Signage is pretty bad. When you get off the elevator, you don't know where to go to get to your room until you walk down the hallways to find a sign. One of those hotels that you could probably get lost in if you came back to your room too late at night.

Nancy V.

Yelp
Pictures and Videos of catching the game from one of their Baseball Stadium room views do it no justice. Ordered Pizza & Wings and everyone brought BYOB and caught the game from our room as if we were sitting in the outfield of the Stadium. Definitely an experience and of course walking distance from the stadium, local bars and CN Tower.

Yelp
We stayed here for a long weekend and to go to the P!NK concert that was held at the Blue Jays Stadium. We are usually at lower budget hotels but this was a gift from our son. Because of his travels he got us into a premium suite. We had such a beautiful time! The facility was amazing. The bathroom fan ran continuously but because it was a suite and not near the bed it wasn't a bother. The cleaning staff was wonderful. Gave us ideas of things too and places to go. The continental breakfast was adequate, enough to get us by. The nicest part was we just walked out the main door and into the concert in just a few steps. Having a view of the field from our room was irrelevant because for a concert, the view is blocked off, even from the sports bar and restaurant. The room was clean, the bed and pillows comfortable. Definitely would recommend this place.

Yelp
If you're a baseball fan, and you want to stay close to the Toronto Blue Jays' ballpark and watch a game.., pay the extra money and get a room here! I'm from the Bay Area, so I made a special trip to see the SF Giants play against the Toronto Blue Jays, and I always wanted to visit the SkyDome, which is now called the Roger Centre. We were all planning to get tickets to the game, but one of my friend got a field-view room at the Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel. Instead of getting tickets, we just watched the entire game from his hotel room! It's very comfortable to avoid the long lines to go through security, watch batting practice & the game, and avoiding the long lines to exit the stadium. It was also nice to walk to a local grocery story and purchase a bunch of food & beverages and just eat & drink in our room, while watching the ballgame! We had 5 people in the room watching the game comfortably. What constitutes a 5-star review? If it's worth it and if you're willing to come back here again. As for the room, it is on the older side, but it has had some remodeling done with some upgrades, but you should definitely come here if you want to watch a baseball game from the comfort of your room.

Yelp
Ontario is currently on a two-week lockdown due to the Omicron variant. All bars, restaurants, and gyms are currently closed. Room service is available. The menu is on the tv. My room overlooks the inside of the Roger Centre, home to the Toronto Blue Jays. Due to the lockdown and off-season, the venue is currently under renovation. It is a little noisy as they do construction work. This, however, would be a killer view during baseball season. The ticket office and stadium is next door. The hotel staff is friendly and accommodating. Spacious rooms and free Wi-Fi. www.Marriott.com

Yelp
Ok so we stayed at the hotel on August 7th 2021. Our first room was less then sub par as my gf was doing my hair we looked over and seen a bed bug crawling around on our bed. I then started fulling apart our bed and found what appeared to be some form of bodily functions. We then picked up the phone and called the front desk. The women had a manager and a house keeper come to our room. They both seemed apologetic and told us we would get a field view room. As we were here for the game this sounded great! However we did not get a field view room we got the room directly next door to the room with the bed bug. We were then given a coupon for 100 dollars toward our dinner. Problem being we went to the game and then the restaurant informed us they were full to go out to the patio which also informed us was full. We then went up to out room and ordered room service which informed us that they could not have out meal to us within the hour meaning we either eat or go to the next game! For a room that was over 300 a Night I am completely discusted and will never stay here again well going to a jays game.

Katie G.

Yelp
Great hotel, nice room! Will be back. You could watch the Jays game from the restaurant. The pool and workout facilities is very very nice. The staff was great, valets awesome. Perfect location to CN tower, aquarium, and just walking around the city.

Stephanie K.

Yelp
The front desk was super nice and helpful during check in. The hotel is in a great location. Right next to the CN tower. My room was the very last room on the fifth floor. It was a hike from the elevator. The room was very large with a chair and ottoman. My biggest issue was that I could not get the room cold enough to sleep well. There was one very strangely shaped window that could not be opened. It was pretty frustrating. My understanding is that there are renovated rooms in the hotel. This was not one of them. In spite of that it was very comfortable.

Royce L.

Yelp
This hotel is attached to the Rogers Centre. Very nice hotel and you can actually see into the baseball stadium which is very cool, especially when there is a game. Nice area as well and there is a small outdoor area right outside the hotel to enjoy the weather when it's nice out. There's also a decent amount of places to eat from, especially on game days. Other attractions like the Aquarium and CN Tower are all a stone's throw away. Great location for this hotel. There's an outdoor garden if they weather is nice enough to enjoy the weather. The rooms are well decored and decent sized. Pretty modern although they could use a little more updating. The staff here were very nice and polite. I'll definitely stay here again when I am in the area

Yelp
This is your typical Marriott. However the staff was very friendly, especially Michelle on the Concierge Floor. She was the best and went out of her way to make our stay amazing! Room was nice but the bathroom fan wasn't able to be turned off so there was a constant hum the entire time. Plenty of things to walk to but no train station really close to get to other parts of town. Decent gym and a nice, indoor pool!

Marleah U.

Yelp
Once-in-a-lifetime experience! We checked in for a run-of-the-mill work trip that I allowed my eight-year-old son and husband to accompany me on. When we arrived at the check-in desk the person who did our arrival said she was changing the room assignment to something that would be delightful for my son. When we got to the room we were astonished to see the most incredible view of the bluejays stadium. The room is Clean, every employee we have encountered has been extremely professional and kind, and the amenities in the room are as good or better than all of my Marriott experiences. However the kindness of stuff to move us to this room as well as the once-in-a-lifetime view makes this the best hotel experience ever!

Gerry L.

Yelp
When it comes to hotels we have had stayed in some really bad ones and very far from all the main attractions. So a very close friend who works in Marriott informed us about this hotel for our trip to Toronto and booked it for us and we were surprised on our accommodations. The main positive for this hotel comes down to three points, location, location, and location. We are literally right next door to one of Toronto iconic landmarks the CN Tower. The staff were one of the friendliest group of people I had the pleasure of meeting. The first night we realized that we did not pack any tooth paste and we decided to call the front desk and they had two travel size tooth paste send to our room within five minutes. Then on the second day after a long city tour we came back very thirsty and ask for a glass of water and the bartender told me that I can take the glass to my room, instead of banning me from taking the glass upstairs. The room themselves were very roomy and the bed was super comfortable. The few negatives I have about the room is that part of the room needed some remodeling, while the lobby felt a little boring. The bar and restaurant had a very dark and cold feel to it. But I would recommend this hotel due to its location and staff that make all guest feel like home.

Cyndy K.

Yelp
Cyndy's Bottom Line: Ok location if you are attending an event here. *Attentive customer service *Includes breakfast for members *Good size room with a sitting area with two big TVs. *Comfortable bed *Good water pressure in the shower

Steve R.

Yelp
Let me say the staff here is top notch Staff is a 5 Location is a 5,off the charts good. Its almost like old wrigley field, you are going to draw enough fans just because of the location...but some upgrades need to happen to get to the next level. The hotel needs a fresh coat of paint, and has some quirks. Its a bit dated everywhere, and the rooms are dated. The beds are comfy, but the whole place needs a refresh which I believe they are working on. One example which is just quirky, the bathroom door was a very weird size and didnt fit in the bathroom so you couldnt open the door all the way into the bathroom. Anyways, the staff is amazingly friendly, but they need better facilities to work with.

Anthony S.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best hotels in Toronto when it comes to bang for buck. Now, it's not amazing, or the best hotel in the city, but honestly.. it close to major attractions (ripleys aquarium, CN Tower, MTCC, Chinatown) and is literally attached to the Rogers Centre. If you are coming into the city for a Leafs/Jays game this is a must if you're staying the night. If you get a stadium view room for the Jays game, you won't have to purchase tickets! And the view is awesome. Check-in was a breeze. Overnight parking till 1 pm the next day for $30, fully licensed restaurant/bar in the main lobby (also looking over the field), what else could you really need? Also worth noting, the stadium view room is HUGE. Can literally hold 10-12 people no problem. Staying here with my SO felt like we were living in a condo downtown lol. Only thing missing is a kitchen. Will definitely stay here again! 4/5 in my books.

Mach S.

Yelp
Expensive nice hotel, comfy beds and a long walk if you've got a suite. We stayed here to watch a Blue Jays game and visit the local sights. Check in folks are very nice. Bell service was prompt and efficient. Nice view of Blue Jays field right from the lobby. Hotel parking is not close, but you end up parking right below the lobby. A convenient elevator brings you back to the lobby after you park. Parking is separate from your hotel bill, so you'll pay the man at the parking booth on your way out. Room service was great. Food was very good. Not overly expensive. Maid service did a great job and met all our requests promptly. Only a few downsides to this hotel: If you are in a suite, like we were, then be prepared to walk a long way from the elevator. All the larger rooms are at the ends of the hallway. The room was nice, but most of it was unused and seemed to be oddly designed. The rooms are also very dated and are in need of a redux. There are no in-room safes. We were in a suite, but no access to evening hor'dourves unless we paid $75 more a night! If it weren't for the favorable exchange rate, I would not have stayed at this hotel. Otherwise it is convenient to many venues. I would stay here again.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of the Renaissance brand, and make it a goal to stay at a Renaissance property whenever traveling. During our most recent visit to Toronto, The Renaissance Toronto Downtown seemed like an obvious choice since it was close to Fort York where we were going to be catching a concert. The Renaissance is situated in a great location if you're a first time visitor to Toronto since it's attached to the Rogers Center, right next to the CN Tower, and within a reasonable walking distance of many of the city's most prominent tourist attractions. The location was a contributing factor to our choice of this Renaissance hotel, but the amenities and modern feel of the Renaissance brand were the biggest draw for us. Every time my wife and I are at a Renaissance property, we watch the Renaissance promotional video showcasing the brand's properties worldwide to the Thievery Coporation's "Holographic Universe" and make a pact to visit as many of the properties featured as possible. This particular Renaissance property was a mess from the first second we pulled into the valet parking area. There was a complete clusterf*ck of cars scattered about the driveway and it was difficult figuring out who and where the valet was. Finally, we were approached by a valet, who was actually quite helpful and nice, and we went about the process of checking in. The lobby of this hotel is rather underwhelming and doesn't feature as much art of anything that pops out right away. The front desk folks were nice enough, but definitely seemed like they'd had a long day, so it was a pretty short and quick process. We were place on the club lounge area on the 6th floor since I was a Gold Rewards member, but our initial joy of being on that floor turned to dismay when we realized that pretty much anyone can get to the club lounge since it doesn't require special access. The club lounge floor is basically a collection of tables and chairs after you exit the elevator bank, which you have to pass through to get to the rooms on either side. After a long walk down the seemingly endless hallway to our room, which was literally at the end of the hall way (which resembled a college dorm rather than a nice hotel), we were pretty surprised by how "blah" our room was. The room was HUGE, but the ugly tan carpeting, the poorly made bed, the blinking old-school alarm clock, and exposed lamp/phone wires really made for a letdown. I've been to hotels where the lobby, hallways, etc. were awful, but the rooms were excellent...but definitely not this time. The room was big, but had absolutely no charm to it. Considering how beautiful a city Toronto is, the Renaissance Downtown Hotel does not do this magnificent city any justice. There is no real appeal to this place other than the location. Also, you can get rooms that face the Rogers Center, so that may be an awesome experience if you're a Blue Jays or Argonauts fan...but if you're looking for a nice, relaxing hotel...this may not be it. I must admit, the one highlight of this hotel was the view from the lobby restaurant Arriba into the Rogers Center, but if you don't make your way to the restaurant area, or stay in a room facing the field, you may miss it. I'm a Marriott guy through and through, but this was one situation where I feel a bit let down by the brand. This place is in desperate need of a renovation so it can keep up with the style and design standards that Toronto seems to embody.

Ronnie Edjie B.

Yelp
First time visiting Toronto and I'm glad I choose this hotel. The hotel is conveniently located to where I wanna be and things I like to do. The hotel is situated at Rogers Center, so if you're a big fan of sports, you can watch from your room. What I like the most too is that CN tower and Ripleys Aquarium is just minutes walk from my hotel. The room is spacious and staffs are friendly and helpful. Thank you to Juvelyn Uy and the rest of the front desk staff assisting me. Next time I visit Toronto, hopefully with my family, I would like to stay here again.

Katie W.

Yelp
This was a Hot Rate on Hotwire, so it was a blind booking that worked in our favor. The hubs and I needed a central hotel to explore Toronto on a long layover. We are experienced travelers just looking for your average clean hotel room that isn't a hostel or located in a sketchy neighborhood. When we got to our room, we pretty much did a happy dance since the Renaissance is not a hotel we would ordinarily stay at. Our room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed, clean sheets and bathroom, and a short flight of stairs leading to a loft. The loft was big and could easily host a small baseball viewing party. I'm not a baseball fan, but even I thought the view of the baseball field right out of your hotel window is super cool! The hotel is centrally located too right in downtown. We were able to walk to get food and explore Toronto. We only spent one night here, but all the staff members we interacted with were friendly and helpful. It was a nice introduction to Toronto!

Robert T.

Yelp
Although it was expensive (539 Canadian dollars which equalled about 493 US dollars), it was well worth it... had the stadium view, great sightlines.... a must do, even if its just once... The 4 stars were for the charge for bottled water in the refrigerator.... that was a head scratcher....

Ashley P.

Yelp
I travel a lot for work and this is by far one of my favorite hotels I get to stay at on the road. I've been two times now and both times I've gotten, with no prompt or reason really, an upgrade to my room. I've felt so lucky! The beds are comfortable, the rooms clean, and the amenities a plenty. And they have bedside chocolates -- mmmm! It's attached to the Blue Jays stadium which may make for some crowded lobbies but it also livens the place up. It's a close walk to the CN tower, the harbourfront and plenty of restaurants on King Street. It's a great place to stay in T Dot!

Madd S.

Yelp
Tv is the worst. Nothing but basic cable. Can't order movies. No pay-per-view or ondemand menu at all. Can technically sign into personal Netflix account but it keeps showing an error message every 2 minutes because it can't connect to the internet. Ice machine is broken on the floor. Fire alarm checks for three hours with no advance notice. But all in all a nice hotel. Good location, except when there's a major event at the rogers center.

Erika D.

Yelp
As a baseball fan, this hotel is top-notch. I was able to enjoy a Blue Jays game from the comfort of my dinner table and see what goes on after the game from a hotel room window. In addition to its proximity to Rogers Centre, the hotel is surrounded by bars and restaurants, and very close to the new UP Union Station. Shopping is also nearby. Though some amenities are dated, the room was spacious and very clean. The hotel staff was attentive and friendly. If you're looking for entertainment, restaurants, or even a flight, the concierge Monica is your gal. She was able to get me a dinner reservation at the CN Tower on a busy Friday night. All in all, I had an excellent experience here and would definitely recommend it!

Cheryl B.

Yelp
This hotel is a great concept! How could you NOT luv having baseball or a concert for that matter in your living room of your suite! I would like to see it when it's completely finished and all the rooms have been refurbished. Some of the newness didn't go with the oldness, case in point great marble bath with mural and a scummy/rusty shower head! The hotel is walking distance to EVERYTHING especially the Air Canada Centre! And Eaton Centre is a uber/taxi ride away. And from the airport take the Up Express to the last stop get out and walk 1 block up and 2 blocks over (to the left) and Blue Jay way is on the left. Super easy I don't know why people are complaining that Up Express is impressive and AMAZING! The staff here are great from check in to housekeeping, and the club lounge is different and more open, can't wait to return to see the changes!

Anthony N.

Yelp
***This Renaissance has a great location in Downtown Toronto--within walking distance to many key attractions and top restaurants as well as attached to Rogers Centre; unfortunately, the service was not as polished, professional or knowledgeable as most Marriott brand hotels*** Renaissance hotels are not as prevelant as Marriott hotels, but they are a great part of the Marriott brand. They tend to feature a more modern as well as more local look and feel than Marriotts. This Renaissance really integrates well with Downtown Toronto. The hotel is actually built into the Rogers Centre (where the Blue Jays play). The restaurant lounge provides an interior view of the stadium; it is like being in a luxury box. You can even watch a Blue Jays game from some hotel rooms. There are other great aspects of this Renaissance's location. Toronto's iconic CN Tower is next door and it is a quick walk to get to the lakeshore. Many popular lounges and restaurants like Momofuku are also within walking distance. My room also featured a really comfortable bed as well as contemporary furniture. The room also had a pleasant room temperature and even Marvel legend Stan Lee was staying here and had breakfast in the quiet restaurant. He was discussing the origins of Spider-Man with fans (Stan Lee was staying at this hotel for a Comic Con-like event in the convention center next door). Unfortunately, there were several areas where this Renaissance fell short. While the room was comfortable, it was a tad empty and too spacious. There could have been more furniture or more dressers because there was a lot of open space in the room. The bathroom was clean, but I felt it was not in the best shape. There were just parts here and there like the drain and the handles that needed to be updated. The shower also lacked elevated dishes and stands to hold shampoo, conditioner, soap, and such. In addition, while this did not bother me that much, the water pressure was a tad on the low side. The other negative was that the service was not up to Marriott's high standards. While most of the staff was pleasant, service seemed disorganized, unknowledgeable and lacking in urgency. The front desk wrote down the wrong rate on my key card packet, which made me return to the front desk to confirm that I was not going to be charged too much. The front desk also informed me that the Concierge Lounge (for Marriott Rewards Gold and Platinum members) was open on Sunday night and Monday morning, but it turned out neither was true due to the Labor Day holiday. This Renaissance did provide complimentary breakfast in the hotel's restaurant (breakfast buffet)--breakfast 7 days a week is a benefit available to Gold and Platinum members. Unfortunately, it took forever for the server to come over to take my drink order on one of the days. In addition, the quality was just not there. On the surface, the breakfast buffet looked like it offered a great variety. The buffet consisted of many cereals in glass dispensers, sliced fruit, whole fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, danishes, bagels, English muffins, breads, banana bread, a quiche-like egg dish with onions, mushrooms and peppers on top, bacon, French toast, sausages, home fries, and an omelet station. Unfortunately, the food was just not that good. The cereal was a tad stale and the eggs were bland and horribly discolored one day. The sausages had a dry and almost beef jerky-like texture. The bacon could have been crispier, but it was not too bad. The bacon was a tad salty though. The omelet station had a lot of ability to customize. The station included bacon, ham, onions, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, spinach, and cheese. The cook did a nice job and the fillings were not bad, but the omelet did not have a great color. It looked like the kitchen almost used egg whites since the omelet lacked the great color and fluffiness of a good omelet. In addition to the lackluster breakfast, service at the valet stand was not that great. Upon arriving, no valet was waiting outside so I had to go inside to get someone. In addition, I felt it took a little bit too long to get my vehicle back despite only a small crowd at the valet area when I departed. Another negative while staying at this hotel was that someone pulled the fire alarm at 4 a.m. While you cannot really blame the hotel for this, maybe this hotel's central location draws a lively and partying hard crowd. Room rates are high though you can save a little bit of money if you plan ahead. This Renaissance has some pluses and is a good hotel for a Downtown Toronto stay. Unfortunately, I think you will find it underwhelming in parts if you are very familiar with the Marriott brand. Still, if you can get a good rate here, this Renaissance is a good choice because of its great location and comfortable rooms. Valet parking is available at $35/night.

Yelp
This hotel was booked by the company I work for, for a two day summit. So this was a two-night stay. The good: Located downtown Toronto. Easy to find if you walk down the street (next to CN Tower). Couch and tv area which was chic. Big bathroom. Comfortable bed. Lobby is wonderful, modern, and chic. No stains on carpet. Nice coffee machine and supplies. The bad: Rooms on side of railroads makes it noisy during the night, therefore hard to have a good night sleep. You can see nail corrosion through the wallpaper in the bathroom and under the A/C. I am not sure if pull out couch fits the small living room (did not try). Closet doors very old fashion. Painting job and cutting poorly done, you can see drops at certain areas. If your room is far left in the hotel, you might get lost as it is poorly indicated (employee had to help me). Bottom wood panels in halls needs paint touch-ups. Reservation showed one king bed, but they ran out, so ended up with two queens (but I was okay with it). In the end, this is a nice hotel but I do not think it is worth the price the company paid for it. I guess it would be a great choice if the Blue Jays were playing.

Yelp
I stayed here for a weekend and overall I thought my stay was okay. The rooms are very spacious. I appreciated that there was a coffee maker and also a mini fridge. The bathroom is modern with a nice sized shower. The bedding is also extremely comfy and soft which was a positive. The location is good but sometimes it seemed a little bit hidden to find the entrance, especially at night. The layout of this hotel is weird. We had a room facing the train tracks, which did create noise at night. Also our room was literally a 5 minute walk from the elevator. There seems to be only one set of elevators in this hotel which don't seem to be central to the rooms. For the price, I would probably choose a different hotel next time, maybe one that is directly on king street. Also a heads up, parking is $50 per night. You can find cheaper parking garages in the area.

Yelp
Very nice common areas EXCEPT the pool It was so filthy I scraped clean me all around in the scum on the side, also sand &dirt all on the bottom Parking is another issue they need to address We had a rm but they said they had NO valet spots&sent us up the street We pd $35@6pm&had to pay another $30 the next day bc we left@1pm So $65 for less than 24hrs This was bc there was a ball game both days They SHOULD warn U about this ahead of time or NOT take cars for ppl not staying in the hotel! All in all it was a nice hotel, but it cost way too much for what U actually get, then add in the parking fees&U R looking at over $400 a night!

Yelp
Guest Rooms = 2.5 stars Lobby/restaurant/bar area = 5 stars Lobby is the best part. You can't beat that incredible baseball view. The guest rooms definitely need some work. The walls are thin, and I could hear full conversations in the hallway. Unless you're one of the few rooms on the baseball field side, you'll hear the train going by frequently. It's a stone throw away from your window. Service is extremely friendly.

Yelp
I'm loving this place. Came here for the Opening Weekend with the Jays and Yanks 2014 season. The room is huge and comfortable. The bedding are the best I've ever had on the road. Oh so comfortable. I've never slept better away from home. But the best is being able to sit in the bar / coffee shop / restaurant and see the entire Rogers Center ballpark. It's a joy to watch batting practice while having breakfast or lunch. You can sit here for the entire game if you wish, as long as you order a meal. And the staff is so accommodating. It's become one of my favorite places to stay. I will return!

Yelp
Alright, my review here is biased because we stayed in a stadium-view room and it was AH-MAZE-ING. For about $340USD, we got a room with two double beds and a view of Rogers Centre for the Tigers @ Blue Jays. Seeing a baseball game from your hotel room is excellent. Staying in a stadium-view room is really unique and a must-do for any baseball fan out there. The double rooms hold up to four guests for the game and have seating in the form of chairs, a bench, and a nice chair with an ottoman. The windows are floor to ceiling and open onto the stadium so you can see and hear the game. At night, just close your windows and curtains and you're good. So, $340USD is a bit of money, but let's break it down: -You don't have to buy tickets to the game (a savings of at least $50-$100, depending on where you sit in the stadium) -You don't have to buy stadium food (no $6 hot dogs or $10 nachos) -You don't have to buy stadium beer (so that's a significant savings) I'd say we saved probably at least $120 not buying tickets and other nonsense in the ballpark, which is totally worth it. Plus you don't have to deal with the riff-raff of other people near you in the stadium. It's a nice, private space to watch the game and you're literally in the same outfield area as other ticket buyers, so you can see the field well and it's easy to pay attention to the game. The hotel staff also do not think it is weird at all to roll in with a huge cooler or tons of cases of beer. Nice. The hotel itself is nice. The self-parking is about $22USD and there's spaces right underneath the lobby of the hotel so you don't have to walk far to get in. The $22 also includes in/out privileges for your entire stay. The lobby is crowded on game days, so beware. There's a lot of people checking in/out and staying in the hotel even though they have regular game tickets, so the lobby and sidewalks can get pretty busy. Our room was very clean, the beds were SUPER comfortable, and there were lots and lots of pillows. The bathroom was large and clean, shower had good pressure. There's room service available until 2 a.m., you can call down to the desk and get toiletries or extra pillows, and there's a restaurant, bar, and Starbucks in the lobby. The pool was super busy but it was nice to swim and was large enough that you weren't touching the people right next to you. There was also a nice hot tub and towels galore so you didnt need to bring one down from your room. There was a nice-sized gym with a good amount of equipment if you need it during your stay. All in all, I really, really enjoyed my stay. We bought the stadium-view room for our fifth wedding anniversary celebration and it was so worth it. We got to watch an entire baseball game in the comfort of our own hotel room, we made our own lunches for cheap, had our own snacks, and brought our own cheap beer. A wonderful experience, especially for baseball fans.

Yelp
My family had a fantastic stay here, and we managed to get an amazing Priceline deal for about $90/night for all four of us (maybe because it was off season?). The Renaissance is also located right next door to the CN Tower, which seems to be an essential stop for tourists. We had a 2-bed room that was sufficiently spacious and had a very clean bathroom. Aveda-branded toiletries, as opposed to obscure random hotel brands, were provided. Beds were also very comfortable. Service is also excellent. Everyone we interacted with was very polite and professional, and during our stay we requested a microwave and plate/silverware to eat some delicious leftovers from a restaurant we visited. Both were provided promptly. Our room was located next to train tracks, but personally it did not disrupt me or any members of my family.

Yelp
This hotel is situated in a perfect location for tourists as it's conveniently located across from the CN Tower and ACC and attached to the Roger's Centre as well as walking distance to Union Station and Tons of great restaurants and shops! I decided to stay here as I came to watch a Jay's game at the Roger's Centre so it is definitely the most convenient location! Parking is across the street. It's $20/day for self parking and $30/day for valet. Check In was at 3pm but like everyone else we didn't come to check in until after 3:30pm when the Jay's game ended so it got delayed a bit however that was understandable. We stayed in a City View King Room which was located on the Third Floor with views that looked out onto the front/entrance of the hotel. The room was very clean and spacious with a desk, couch/chair, and LCD Flat Screen TV. I loved the Huge and Comfy King Sized Bed! The marble bathroom contains a shower/tub combo and has lovely AVEDA bath products. Definitely try and check out the on site restaurant called Arriba. It has spectacular bird's eye view of the roger's centre field and is a great to place to have lunch and watch the game. They have amazing burgers! FYI there is no free Wifi it's a charge of $12.95 to access it.

Yelp
SUMMARY: Booking sites call this a four star property. I think that's a stretch. The hotel interior is showing signs of its age all over, and it should really be dropped a grade unless it gets renovated. There isn't much to write home about, and what's worse is the location is not ideal for sightseeing either. ROOMS: I was on the ninth floor with a view that overlooks the entertainment district. The TV in the room wasn't even a plasma/LCD, and the carpet was uneven with visible stains in several areas. On the other hand, the bathroom was spacious with Aveda products. SERVICE: The service was inconsistent. I had two front desk agents check me in. The first one didn't smile and then walked away mid process. Thankfully, a second agent resumed checking me in with a bit more hospitality. Later I returned to the front desk with a question, and Anna gave brilliant professional service. Thumbs up! AMENITIES: The pool was larger than expected but felt very institutional and in need of some comforting décor in the room. The fitness center was bare bones, but apparently it's just temporary until the Rogers Center health club reopens. I was told guests can access that one in the future for free. There was comp WiFi in the lobby, which is always a perk. LOCATION: Great location if you're going to the Rogers Center, but otherwise its southwest downtown location is a bit isolated from most other touristy areas. The entertainment district is a stone's throw away though. CLEANLINESS: In addition to stains in the room carpet, there were other instances when cleanliness was not at four star standards. Old gum on the hallway floor, stains on the backs of lobby couches, dings and marks on the walls, spilled liquid spots in the elevator, and so on. VALUE: The bottom line is you better have a really good rate if you're gonna stay here and be happy about it, unless of course you've got business at the Rogers Center. Hit up Hotwire or Priceline for this property, but cross your fingers you get one of the other four star hotels in downtown Toronto.

Yelp
Consistently one of my favorite hotel locations and staff while travelling abroad. Ms. Annie (front desk) and Mr. Tatiana (Concierge) go the extra mile to ensure travelers of both professional and personal itineraries are well taken care of. The venue offers the usual Marriott family refinements with an emphasis on the calibre of the physical readiness center and the Club Lounge. Rooms are modern and spacious and everything the downtown Toronto area offers is easily within a 10 min walk from the front lobby.

Yelp
This is the way to watch a baseball game at least once. Ballpark view against the Dodgers was definitely memorable. There are different priced options for the rooms. We did not get the most expensive room, but it was still a decent size for watching the game from a couch as opposed to the stands. Room reservations were made directly online on the Marriott web site. The hotel is very nice. Parking is hard to get to, but there is a valet option. The pool and fitness center were by far one of the nicest that I have experienced in a hotel. They are a bit of a walk to get to, but worth it. If you are paying as much as you are, you should enjoy the amenities while you are there. Check in after 3:00pm and enjoy the pool until game time.

Yelp
I recently stayed here for a baseball game at SkyDome. It's hard to believe the dome is over 20 years old as it seems like just yesterday Alan Thicke and Andrea Martin were lighting up the stage in "The Opening of SkyDome: A Celebration." For a 20 year old hotel, they've done a great job at keeping it up. As a Marriott Elite member I was hoping to score an upgrade to a room that faced the ballpark. I called a few times prior to arrival, and at check in was denied the upgrade. My guess is that they don't upgrade to those rooms whenever there's an event. They did give me club level and club lounge, which is effectively worthless on the weekends as the lounge is closed. Parking was a breeze as they share the Rogers Centre parking garage, and have a specific parking zone for hotel guests. Finding the garage entrance can be tough as it's at the opposite end of the Dome from the hotel. My room was very spacious, and clean. The bed and bedding were very clean. I liked their ribbed towels, but the bathroom sink lacked a counter. The sink was too small to set up toiletries, but they did have a little table that helped some. The hotel had a great choice of HD television channels on a nice big HDTV. I was pleased with the television offerings and the Internet speeds. Service at the front desk was very pleasant only service issues I ran into we're repeatedly bad waiters at the restaurant for breakfast. Otherwise the stay was flawless, and I would return. If you're a very light sleeper this may not be the hotel for you as there is literally nonstop rail traffic behind the hotel as Canada's busiest rail line is directly to the north. I heard trains at all hours, but I can sleep right through them.

Yelp
Business trip hotel. Hard to get somewhere else and stay dry/warm, but that's not the hotel's fault. Plan on using Uber in poor weather.

Yelp
I've stayed at the Renaissance Downtown a number of times and it's a reasonable hotel. Very standard Renaissance - no surprises when you walk in the lobby or enter your room. The rooms are slightly larger than your standard downtown hotel and have decent sized flat screen TVs. The furniture is average, very typical for a Renaissance although it does have a comfortable work space. Service at the Renaissance Downtown is good but not flawless. The check in process is easy and the front desk staff is quite helpful. And breakfast/snacks in the lounge are good although the lounge seems to be spread out too far and not that many tables. If I had to knock it down a point, it would be for - A lot of rooms are a hike from the elevators - The hotel is attached to the ballpark, making game nights a very loud and raucous affair (with drunk fans screaming in the hotel hallways) - Not many restaurants in that part of town, so you'll have to walk a number of blocks Otherwise, if you are working on the west end of downtown, the Renaissance is a decent hotel for business travelers.

Yelp
My girlfriends and I got lucky and scored this on a Hotwire deal. For the amount we paid, we were very happy with the hotel. Big, spacious, comfortable rooms and bathrooms and the facility is very clean. Many of our male friends were especially jealous of the view from the lobby bar, directly overlooking Rogers Centre Stadium. The location is also perfect, located just a few steps from the CN tower and a few blocks from good restaurants and nightlife. The only two gripes I have are the limited parking and the fact that it's very crowded during game days. This is a must-do treat for any baseball lover!

Yelp
A very convenient location for a hotel in the downtown area and connected to the Rogers Centre. We were lucky enough to have a room that actually looked-out onto to the field and it was great - we were also able to catch a game and it was great to experience such an event from the comfort of our hotel room. The room we were in was large and definitely enough space for two people. The service we received was consistently good and we felt well taken care of. While they were long walks, it was easy to walk to some of the main Toronto tourist sites...the main subway was also just a short 15 minute walk from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for any visitor to Toronto.

Yelp
Loved it. Amazing view. Great service and the rooms are huge.. well.... Mine was. Only 2 issues. Cabs don't wait near the door, so you have to get a staff member to chase one down Also. The bathroom tiles could use a good scrubbing.

Yelp
I can't begin to tell you how awful the customer service at the front desk is! We arrived at midnight and was greeted by front staff who demanded proof for a discounted rate. Two kids in tow no less. After 40 minutes of back and forth, we finally checked in. The manager explained nothing about the facility except for rudely demanding for paperwork over and over. The only saving grace for the hotel is its location and breakfast. NOT the lounge breakfast. Downstair breakfast is except and has plenty of vegan options. If you decide to carry in food and try to dine in the lounge, their lounge staff will rudely ask you to leave due to "allergies". Did not know this hotel was allergic to vegetables. The house keeping service is hilarious. Pillows stacked on the floor, sheets untucked, bathroom untouched except towels replaced, chair not pushed in, coasters on the floor, beer glasses not picked up, etc etc. Thought that was just a mistake, but it was kept like such 4 days in a row. The hotel pool is hidden in the basement through some very outdated passage way. You are lucky if you make it out there alive. Okay kidding, but it is creepy as hell. The beds in the room are t I n y... unless you are 6 years old. Two queen beds are actually two standard sized beds. Yeah, no. Just don't go.

Ryan E.

Yelp
This hotel was cool but nothing amazing. I chose this hotel since it was close to my client and to Union Station. I walked to the hotel from the train station. The signage is pretty clear if you know that you have to walk to Rogers Stadium. The lobby is nice, nothing special. It was pretty easy checking in and navigating around. The restaurant is okay. I ate there a couple times, but that's another review. Elevators are fast and you don't have to wait too long for one. The room was big but okay. No bad odors or anything, and the air conditioner worked really well. Don't expect a fancy view or anything, I didn't have one. I asked for a king but they only had doubles but they were comfortable. The couch was also nice to sit down and relax after a long day. All in all, I like this hotel. I think I will try other hotels for the variety but this is one I will look toward for it's location. There is a lot around the hotel and it's close to all the important things I needed to get to.

Vincent M.

Yelp
Nice hotel but I was not a fan of how far the room was from the elevator. I feel like there was only 1 bank of elevators for the hotel and it was a far stretch especially since we were in the last room of the hall. Also, make sure you're not located over the railroad tracks.

Nate B.

Yelp
Rarely do I take the time to review a hotel I use on business, but this is my favorite Marriott in recent memory. My room was well appointed, had a very comfortable (not too soft, not too hard) bed, a gorgeous bathroom, and staff who were exceptionally kind. Truly enjoyed my time here, and will look forward to coming back the next time I'm in Toronto!

Armando R.

Yelp
I gave the hotel advanced notice that I needed to check in early and was willing to pay for it. Unfortunately when I arrived at the hotel they told me no rooms are available until 3pm. It's been more than 24 hours since I've slept and now I'm planning to sleep in the lobby couches. This hotels accommodations are ok not great and some of the facilities could use some renovations as they look outdated or are out of service. Most of the rooms (facing out from the stadium) I've stayed in here look old and in need of TLC and a deep cleaning.
