Torre di Arnolfo

The Torre dominates Florence’s skyline with the kind of confidence only a 14th-century power structure can pull off. The Arnolfo Tower is a prominent landmark in Florence, in every sense of the word. It is visible from virtually every point in the city and is a significant historical and architectural landmark. Built by Arnolfo di Cambio, the builder of the Palazzo Vecchio, in the early 14th century, it sits atop the foundations of an older structure, the La Vacca Tower. The Arnolfo Tower stands 94 meters tall. In the mid-17th century, Giorgio Lederle's clock was installed on the tower, which still keeps the correct Florentine time. A ticket to ascend the tower (Torre e Cammianamento di Ronda) costs 12.50 euros. The view from the very top is breathtaking. Definitely recommend.

Torre di Arnolfo is definitely worth climbing! The entry fee was 13,50€ for us (12,50€ + 1€ of fee), I think you can buy your tickets for less than that directly on site. The climb is quite easy, not as demanding as the Giotto tower or the cathedral dome. There are multiple floors you can stop at, such as the battlements or small peep chambers, to admire the view. Many medieval windows and peepholes offer great photos of the main city landmarks. We climbed the tower early-ish in the morning (9:15am) when it was less crowded and the sun was still low. I'd recommend doing that! But id you want a unique experience, climb to the top at noon so that you're right below the bell when it rings. I definitely recommend taking this trip if you're in Florence for more than 2 days!

Great view and reasonable price. You don't have to be particularly fit to climb the tower, as there are many places to rest, and it's not scary or claustrophobic at all. We didn't book beforehand. I bought a ticket at 11.50 and they said the next available time was 1pm. They make it very clear in their signage that if it rains you cannot go to the top of the tower, only the walkway, and that you cannot get a refund. I still think it would be worth it as the view from the walkway is pretty great too. However, I would wait until the day to check it's not raining rather than book in advance.

Really enjoyed this. The view of the whole city was great. I had a Firenze Card and making a quick booking was easy. I went at around 12 and it was tea quiet, I’m not sure how popular or well known it is as I was surprised by the lack of people. The stairs are a lot but easy enough (I’m 25 and healthy but went with my dad, 57, and he was fine too). Highly recommend doing this if you like a view of the city, it was a highlight for me. There are some small holes on the way up that make for cool photos, and the bigger windows on the way up are barred, understandably. At the top it is more open for a better uninterrupted view.

Arnolfo Tower — Absolutely Worth It A must-do in Florence. The view is spectacular, the climb is fun, and — surprisingly — the staircase is wide enough that even two generously built optimists can pass each other without needing a peace treaty. Fresh air, history, and zero claustrophobic panic. In short: go up. It’s worth every step

I feel completely scammed. Since it was raining, it was only possible to go to the first floor. Ok, what about a refund or a cheaper price?! 12.50€ for half the experience? I left more than disappointment.

Be prepared to climb, but much easier than the Duomo. Great views when you get to the top.
