"Modern Medieval Tower Torre Velasca is modern Milan 's homage to its medieval prominence. The tower was built in the late 1940s/50s on the site of a neighborhood bombed out during World War II and is a testament to monument construction. It towers over the city with an omnipotent vibe harking back to days past."

Yelp
One of the sights of the Milan skyline, Torre Velasca is one of those "You either hate it or you love it" sort of things. I have decided that I'm not a fan. Built in the 1950s, the tower is 106 meters (348 feet) tall. One of the tallest in the city of Milano, the design was inspired by the Sforza Castle. The concept, at least according to the Wikipedia article, is that most medieval fortresses and towers were narrower at the bottom with the wider and more spacious spaces higher up and propped up by wooden boards or stone beams. The building is protected as historic since 2011. [Review 10711 overall, 479 of 2019.]

Yelp
Torre Velasca sounds a vary strange and unusual building in the core of Milano metropolitan area. Its style doesn't match with anything else in the city and make it sound like an alien building in the town! I can't say which kind of style is made by, maybe a temptative to be a modern rules-breaker and innovative creation by the architect....but I'm not so sure he has reach his scope! Anyway, I think it has a sort of hidden charm and I've been interested in visit it (only outside, inside I mean there are only offices)
