One of the sights of the Milan skyline, Torre Velasca is one of those "You either hate it or you love it" sort of things. I have decided that I'm not a fan.
Built in the 1950s, the tower is 106 meters (348 feet) tall. One of the tallest in the city of Milano, the design was inspired by the Sforza Castle. The concept, at least according to the Wikipedia article, is that most medieval fortresses and towers were narrower at the bottom with the wider and more spacious spaces higher up and propped up by wooden boards or stone beams.
The building is protected as historic since 2011.
