Tosh’s Ramen is a hidden gem for ramen lovers. While their menu focuses exclusively on ramen, the quality more than makes up for the limited selection. Each bowl is thoughtfully prepared, with a rich, flavorful broth that feels like it’s been simmered for hours to achieve the perfect depth. The noodles are cooked to perfection—firm yet tender—and the toppings are fresh, well-portioned, and complement the broth beautifully. The simplicity of the menu allows them to truly perfect their craft, making it clear that ramen is their specialty. Whether you prefer a classic tonkotsu or something with a spicy kick, there’s a flavor profile for everyone. The portions are generous, and the attention to detail in every bowl is impressive. It’s easily one of the best ramen experiences I’ve had, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, comforting, and satisfying meal. If you’re a fan of ramen, Tosh’s Ramen should definitely be on your list!

The appetizers were good, we ordered the chicken teriyaki and spring rolls. Chicken tasted great but the portion was a little small even for an app, the spring rolls were nice and crispy. The tonkotsu ramen was just okay. The broth could've been more flavorful and they only give you half an egg which seems a little stingy. But overall a decent bowl of ramen for $13. The atmosphere inside is very simple. Cheap chairs and tables and no artwork or decor on the walls. The service was good and food came out quickly. Overall I'd come back and try more dishes but this won't be a regular spot for me.

I'm not a huge ramen fan, but Tosh's gave me a taste for it. The spicy pork and the curry are both phenomenal! Also enjoyed the takoyaki.

Google
Food is good but the atmosphere tanks it. It’s smells dirty and doesn’t feel clean. No effort for anything but the actual food. They could do so much more with the design of this place inside. They need to create a vibe. It’s not that expensive to do something with the lighting and make it cooler/cozier/cleaner.

Google
We just had lunch today here, and we waited for like 30 minutes to get our food served. We just got ramens and no starters! Restaurant was just half full. The table next to us complained too. We've been coming here for a long time and food is usually faster, just lately the wait time for food is ridiculous. Server was very apologetic about the long wait tho and that's very nice of them. Regardless, the food is very good! We'll try again next time, i hope it will be better.

Google
I came here on a quick visit a while back. honestly from the outside I should of got in my car and went somewhere else but I'm glad I didn't. the staff was very nice and after being seated the vibe felt good and relaxed in there. when I got my ramen I got it spicy and it and it was delicious the eggs were a nice compliment, the broth was so rich and flavorful. I would definitely recommend and will re-visit soon!

Google
I usually don’t have the energy to review a place . But truly am upset at the fact that I walked in at 2:07 pm , after driving cross country from Illinois . I was recommended this place from someone who lived here , drove out of my way to get to this place . I was told because you guys close the kitchen at 2:30 pm you can’t serve me . I was a party of 1, who just wanted a simple bowl of ramen before I had to continue driving . Well I walked in before that .. and if you do stop serving 30 mins prior to the kitchen closing then it should be posted on google or the website . Most restaurants will continue to serve until the time they are supposed to close is posted . Do better with your service because I don’t care if you the best ramen in the area, I wouldn’t recommend just on this basis . Bad look after you guys were recommended by word of mouth.

Google
This review was based solely on the Tonkotsu ramen. Service from the one waitress was nice. The cooks are all in the back, there’s no bar. The interior is dingy and rundown, just like the lot this building is located in. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen like I do everywhere else in the world, it was very disappointing. Served with the wrong noodles for Tonkotsu broth, the broth itself was very bland and generic with no umami taste. You can easily tell that no time or effort went into making the broth. Then you have the two very very thinly sliced pieces of Chashu pork which were honestly gross and almost tasted like expired meat. Probably the worst I’ve ever had. No garlic, space, oil, or any other condiments were offered with the ramen. The quality of this ramen was similar to a three dollar bowl I had at a train station in Japan, but perhaps a bit worse and an order of magnitude more expensive. I don’t recommend this place.

Yelp
This is the best ramen place in town! The Tokyo wings are Devine! I've tried making them, and it's not the same. You get six in an order, so we usually order two. The ramen is delicious and the shiitake mushrooms are the best thing I've ever had. I would highly recommend getting extra mushrooms! The service is good whether you order by phone or in the shop. The ambiance is casual and the location is super small, but it's worth sitting down and eating the ramen right when it's served!

Yelp
I am visiting from California so my review might be a different perspective than most. The experience was alright but could've been better. The overall ambiance and vibe in the restaurant felt plain and could've felt more comforting with decoration. The staff were friendly and often came to check in on us--they were quick with helping with our requests. The food was fairly mediocre. The matcha green tea was not well served. Overall, it's an alright experience but not sure if there's better options than this.

Cameron P.

Yelp
Tosh's is great! My wife and I had the gyoza, curry ramen, and karai ramen, and it was exactly what we were looking for on a cold winter evening. The inside isn't decorated extensively and it does feel a bit dated/hole-in-the-wall-esque, but that doesn't really matter to us since the food was so good. Service time met our expectation, and the servers did a good job filling our drinks and making sure we had everything we need. When we're not willing to wait in line at Coyote but are just craving a nice hot bowl of ramen, this is the spot for us.

Alicia L.

Yelp
As someone who is picky about their ramen, I can't say that this ramen shop is anything that really stands out to me, but I can see why it's rated fairly high above 4/5. The ambience of the restaurant is very plain with your basic table and chairs. It has little to no decor other than a thinly paneled wooden wall. Ordered a blended ramen and a miso ramen including gyoza and their fried chicken starters. Their gyoza was nothing to rave about, but their chicken was something different than your average "chicken karaage" that you'd get at your typical Japanese restaurant. It was basically a rolled up chicken thigh or leg meat wrapped in chicken skin and doused in their sweet teriyaki tasting sauce. We probably enjoyed this the most for its taste and uniqueness. The ramen noodles were a nice al dente - thin egg noodles. The egg was soft and fairly jammy. The chashu was sliced thinly enough to my liking and had enough fat so that it didn't come off too dry/lean. Service was fine too. She never came back to check on us, but we didn't need anything anyway. After anyone finished ordering (maybe it was only the tables of 2), she asked if the check was going to be paid together or split, which was actually kind of nice that she asked.

Yelp
Tastes like Japan. Small cozy place. Yummy chicken wings too and a fun owner host. The broth was excellent as the noodles and eggs cooked perfectly.

Diallcy R.

Yelp
Tasteful, friendly staff, fast service, clean place. Extra delicious! Love it!!!! I go there often.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Best ramen in northern Utah. I can't wait to go back. The only thing is their phones aren't awesome. Calling to make pick up orders is hard. But I love eating there. AMAZING QUALITY

Joanne V.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my overall experience here! It's a small ramen shop in a strip mall but the service was so kind. They were attentive and quick with the food. The restaurant didn't have any frills or extra bells and whistles for their decor but just delivered on great food. They got really busy as the night progressed on a Monday night but rightfully so given the quality of the food. I ordered a tonkotsu ramen and I thought the depth of the soup was very rich and creamy. Overall it was a very clean ramen. The noodles were the right amount of bouncy and egg was perfectly soft boiled. I think the chasu was a bit chewier than I would have liked but overall a solid spot. Next time I would like to try their spicy broth!!

Marko A.

Yelp
The food here at Tosh's ramen is great! I was very happy with my order. As well as, the way it tasted. Thank you to your kitchen staff and thank you to the servers.

Max W.

Yelp
Really excellent ramen. Service is good too! Especially enjoyed the curry ramen. Definitely going back

sally t.

Yelp
hands down the BEST ramen place in slc!!! i come here at least once a month it's so good. i love the vibes, it's small and busy but always somehow i have never waited more than 10-15 minutes. the servers are always super super kind. and the ramen is amazing, as well as the appetizers like the tokyo chicken, potstickers and bokchoy!

HS L.

Yelp
Very good ramen. Nice flavor. Nice creaminess to the tonkotsu ramen. Love that they include bean sprouts. Staff was friendly. Service was quick. Restaurant very typical to other ramen places. Looking forward to going back.

joe z.

Yelp
Pretty good katsu curry. Curry only had one piece of beef but katsu was oh so delicious!

Haylee A.

Yelp
Good ramen, even better street signage and service. Never a water glass half full at this place. No wait, no crowds, I'd go back.

Chirelle P.

Yelp
Tis the season for soup, so let's start with ramen! This place has the most authentic "ramen" noodles. Vegetarian options are limited but they do have add ins. I added an egg to mine & it was delicious! The shiitake mushrooms were insane! I'm not sure how they make these, or what they soak them in but the flavor is unreal! Definitely add these into your ramen, next time I'll get extra. Their Tonkotsu Ramen is the best around per my friend who is a ramen connoisseur. It's very basic inside, nothing fancy. Service was quick. Parking was a mess, so plan on parking anywhere other than the limited parking lot. Overall amazing! Would 100% recommend.

Sisi T.

Yelp
Since moving back home from Orlando, FL I have been in search of 1. A GOOD boba spot (surprisingly found one in Provo. Step it up SLC lol) 2. A GOOD ramen spot. Unfortunately my first experience with the Tonkatsu ramen here was a BIG let down. The broth is the star of show in ramen and this tonkatsu had the worst flavor, I take that back, had no flavor whatsoever! Bland with a hint of pork. So disappointing for me me and my wallet. Their tokyo chicken wings on the the other hand were delicious! The wings were a a soy based glaze packed with flavor and worth a visit. That's all I tried here. Personally wouldn't come back myself, but to each their own.

Connie G.

Yelp
When it cold and snowing ramen sounds like the right choice. The gyoza was delicious. The ramen was good. I wish they had other varieties. The services was quick but this maybe be a place I rarely visit. I'll keep searching.

Lucas C.

Yelp
The food at Tosh's is very well made, with large portions. It has a nice blend of wavy noodles and perfect broth. If you have a craving for Asian food, go to Tosh's. The servers are very nice and polite, but sometimes the main food comes a bit late. The appetizers are amazing, and I highly recommend the takoyaki. They've started to expand their space, and has a great positive vibe.

Lauren D.

Yelp
Great food and great service. Plus, they have an amazing GF ramen! We went to another well known ramen place and they didn't offer gf broth just gf noodles. So, this is my go-to ramen place for now on.

Sheryll L.

Yelp
I love this place! It's not very big inside so big groups would be harder to accommodate. But the ramen is so good. And price-wise, it's pretty affordable compared to other places.

Stephen W.

Yelp
Food: ramen is okay, reasonably priced. 3/5 for food, but it has a good price. Service: decent. Ambiance: no ambiance really. Area is a little sketchy too.-

Karlene P.

Yelp
This is our go-to Ramen spot. I like the veggie ramen since it comes with so many things in the bowl. Haven't found a better place for ramen in Utah yet.

Dominic P.

Yelp
Tosh's is a good spot for the state street area! It's a pretty small restaurant so if you have a group greater than 4 there's a good chance you could have issues with seating (if you go during prime meal times) The price is fair and the flavor is a quality ramen. I only ever get their tonkatsu ramen but it never disappoints. If portions are important to you, you could be slightly disappointed as they do not have as large of bowls as Yoko or Jinya. My main factors as to why this is 3 stars and not 4/5 is its service and portion size. It's a locally owned business so I love supporting that, but it seems they are a bit understaffed. As a result of this the past 3 out of 5 times I've been the tables and bathrooms weren't very clean (at least not to my liking) and the wait staff have been slow to take orders and cash the check. This of course is understandable if you are working with a service line of what looks like 3-5 people. Overall if you're in the area and have a craving for ramen its worth trying out! The tonkatsu broth is great and makes the for a lovely dish.

Nancy L.

Yelp
Coming from California we had high expectations for quality ramen. This place did not disappoint. We especially like the Karai ramen. For the appetizer, we enjoy the dumplings. Our 1 year old also enjoys it!!

bryson d.

Yelp
This place is absolute gas, gas, gas. They deserve your money. If they mess up it's probably your fault. Best ramen is slc, easy not even close. Get the karai ramen. That lil mushroom, mmmmmmmm mmmmmm and I hate mushrooms. Service good ambiance good.

Camille P.

Yelp
Delicious flavourful katsu curry and gyoza. This was a nice little restaurant tucked away in Salt Lake City. My only wish was that they had chicken for the curry instead of pork.

Jorge T.

Yelp
I love me a good Ramen bowl, this place delivers a really good broth, you know Ramen is all about the warm silky liquid on the bowl or the rich spiced water in it, Gioza is very good, this place is not pretebtious, it is on a sketchy strip mall but it's worth a stop and your money will go to a happy place, in return you'll have a hot rewarding experience, take your time cuz there is usually a wait there so go on down times. You can thank me later.

Dillon L.

Yelp
Coming through SLC and Tosh's came highly recommended. Unlike other trendy ramen joints, Tosh's is in an unassuming shopping center and is what I'd describe as a no frills ramen experience. They know what they're good at, and they stick with it, which results in a relatively short menu but with likely all good options. For our visit we ordered the karai ramen and the veggie ramen. I usually like to get the tonkatsu ramen to judge a new place but was feeling the spice. The broth is nice and creamy, with a good amount of spice that isn't overpowering. Another plus is that the broth isn't too salty, many of the highly rated ramen places I've been to leave me gulping pitchers of water. Tosh's balances the flavor and saltiness just right for me. The ramen was pleasantly chewy and delivered the broth well. Personally, though, I'm not as big a fan of ground pork so I would probably go for the tonkatsu next time. The veggie ramen was good too, the broth has a strong mushroom flavor instead of just being a clear flavorless liquid. There weren't as many toppings as I'd like, though. Last thing tho.. they include this sweetly marinated mushroom in the ramen that I haven't had before. It's like really sweet, which threw me off. Sweet mushroom not for me, but it didn't detract from the rest of the dish. All in all, a solid ramen joint deserving of a recommendation. And while I didn't have to wait for a table, their sign-in sheet makes me think that's more the exception than the rule.

Gene B.

Yelp
There are variations of Tonkotsu Ramen. Tosh's version is less on the greasy side. Char siu is flavorful. They serve the Raman hotter than the norm too! That's the way I like it. Tosh's hold their own style and I appreciate it. Chances are slim that I'd return given I'm not a resident in this city. However, if I have the opportunity to visit Salt Lake again, I'm returning for sure.

S W.

Yelp
Classically delicious ramen! Just the way we like it. No flashy gimmicks or frills. Just perfectly chewy noodles in a delicious broth at a very reasonable price. We will be back!

Jessica H.

Yelp
My daughter and I got the tonkotsu ramen. She got a kid size- it's always nice when that's available! We loved our ramen so much. Great noodle texture. Tender, flavorful meat. Tasty broth. The guy managing the place was so nice. We enjoyed our time here!

J K.

Yelp
Been here a few times and decided to try a something new. Went with the curry Ramen and it did not disappoint. Full of flavor but you could still taste each distinct ingredient of greens and beef within the broth. We also ordered the always fresh and delicious gyoza. Food temp was hot and everything was spot on tasty. Daughter said if she were to order the exact same things in Cali she would not be disappointed and neither would I.

William F.

Yelp
Quick friendly service and food was absolutely amazing. We got the chicken appetizer and it was heaven. Could eat a whole bowl full of them. The ramen was hot and tasty as well. Don't be intimidated by the hole in the wall look.

Gerardo G.

Yelp
Hidden and hard to find parking but the ramen will warm your soul not to mention make your stomach happy

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
I haven't dined in here for ages, so I can't really say what improvements have or have not been made inside, but I think it's relevant to discuss what the takeout situation is due to COVID. And I gotta say, ramen takeout it pretty stellar. I've done it a few times around town, but Tosh's really nails it. Ignoring for a moment (if you can...) that it's styrofoam, I don't have any complaints. They give you containers with the noodles and fixins, and then a container with your broth, and it's just so satisfying to pour the broth over and let it fill the air with aromatic mystique. Every takeout ramen I've had has had the noodle ball challenge--where the noodles set into a ball and you have to kind of pick them apart with chopsticks after saturating with the broth, but that's to be expected. The rest of the stuff, including egg and chashu, was just perfection. Big ups for easy ordering and pickup, and for the excellence and efficiency in packaging it up in a way that's not only delivering an excellent product but that's satisfying.

Bruce K.

Yelp
Final dinner in SLC and Mom decided that she had enjoyed the previous ramen and that she would like to have ramen again, even though it's close to 95 degrees out there. Okay, hot soup for dinner it is. Parking here is a challenge. Limited spaces in the lot and along the street. After circling the block once, we lucked out and spotted someone leaving the restaurant, taking their space after they departed. Inside the restaurant, a brief wait for a table (and jumping in front of someone else who was still waiting for a friend - they only seat complete parties). I chose the Tonkotsu, which again with a large piece of thinly shaved roast pork, boiled egg and lots of flavor. Mom's with chicken broth and veggies was practically a salad and a soup together, but she enjoyed it. It's not fancy but it's good.

James M.

Yelp
We happened to be in the area and were looking for a dinner spot. Thanks to Yelp, we found Tosh's Ramen and ordered 2x tonkotsu ramen, along with an extra order of noodles & chashu. Everything tasted sorta good; however, far from great--mainly bc the broth is lacking that deep, rich, complexity you'll easily find at other established ramen shops. Easy parking, fast service, affordable pricing. Decor/ambiance could definitely use some upgrades.

Anthony D.

Yelp
I have been there several times and have been very pleased each time. It is comfortable, and has been busy each time I have been there and the young ladies serving earn their money (please, please tip generously - don't be the typical cheap Utahan!)! PS Don't linger, Ramen is considered fast food in Japan, slurp it up and get the HELL out of my way!!!

George S.

Yelp
Easy to overlook but I'm glad I let my curiosity win out. The ramen was good and the server attentive. It was also a good value for the price. Their tonkotsu broth is rich and silky. The chashu was tender and added the right amount of fat. No wait and was promptly served. Will go back if opportunity presents itself.

Madison C.

Yelp
Good food but both of us had bad stomachaches after eating here. Service was good. I might try this place again and update the review if I have a better experience.

Wang L.

Yelp
Near dt place The curry fried pork rice is good for quick dinner The curry has beef mince in it

Fatboy O.

Yelp
I have been here twice and have just noticed on my last visit the tip was changed. I went for lunch myself where the total was $13 I tipped $2. Well it looks like it was altered to $5. Oh well I won't be back. Ramen was average. Keep the extra $3 and shove it!

Cheryl A.

Yelp
Very disappointed. First of all, the website price for ShoYu Pork Ramen was $8.95, but it was actually $11.95 on the bill, so there's that! It was really nothing more than Top Ramen with a little dry pork and a tiny bit of green onion. The broth was blasé. Won't go there again. The staff was nice. Drive a little further south on State Street to Oishi Ramen- you can thank me later!

Geselle R.

Yelp
Ramen in Utah with cold weather, YES PLEASE! We came right at opening (5pm) and were the second ones seated. It's a cute little ramen shop that seems to be on the busier side. We ordered and got our drinks and food pretty quickly! Babe tried the curry ramen (O-M-G). We've never seen anything like it before! But he actually really liked it. It's very flavorful! I got the shoyu ramen.. very hot and tasty. Perfect for your ramen craving. If you want to have it a little spicy make sure you ask for some seasoning and they will bring it to you!

Pam M.

Yelp
The ramen is amazing. Place is small and intimate. Not great for big groups. They do to go as well. Service is great. Will come again for sure.

Samantha L.

Yelp
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I would give zero stars if i could. Will not return. Our party was ignored and sat late, our order wasn't taken, had to ask for check. Food was bland with tiny meat portions and waitress was sassy when vegan question was asked. Then they added a gratuity when our party didn't meet those requirements (probably because they knew they gave us crap service). When i asked for it to be removed because their menu said for parties over 6 people I was told "it's actually 5" then told "well the average tip in the US..." blah blah blah. After insisting and being told it would be removed they took our cards and kept them for 15+mins. We went back and requested they be ran so we could leave and when they finally brought them out they had filled out the tip and total portion on the receipt!! Seriously baffled at how ridiculous and horrible this experience was at Toshs.

Fred N.

Yelp
We went there as a group of 4 on a Wednesday night. The wait wasn't too bad. The menu was straight forward. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen. Once it came out, first as always is to taste the broth. The broth did not standout. Flavor was ok. I tasted my buddies spicy tonkotsu and should had gotten that as it had more flavor...but probably because of the spices. The chasu was fatty. Definitely wasn't a fan. Good news is that there was plenty of ramen noodles. I would not dive into the hype from the other reviews from yelp. If you are hungry for some ramen, sure go for it, but it's definitely not a 30 min wait. Overall, I would not return. Misc items...There is a parking lot and street parking as it's shared among several other stores. The staff were friendly and the owner was present too. The price for the ramen was definitely cheap compared to other places!

Lina L.

Yelp
I love Tosh's Ramen. This is the perfect place to come when Monday's got you in your feelings or anytime you're just feeling blue. Especially if you haven't eaten anything good throughout the day. Come here for dinner when you've had a long work day, thank me later ;)

Timothy A.

Yelp
Amazing ramen that you may not know about. This is not a chain and may not be as well known as it should be because the ramen speaks for itself. Wow those sweet mushroom are delicious!! I usually get the karai ramen and it has not let me down. Just remember this restaurant is not going to impress anyone with its ambiance, just it's good food. :)
