What a surprise! Last building in the street - next stop was Caernarfon town wall & waterfront. Lovely welcoming interior, warm hello from Henri(etta), bright & airy. Nothing like the backpackers I had stayed at in my younger days. We had "the penthouse" as Henri called it. Three stories up but roomy & comfortable with views to Caernarfon harbour & castle from the windows. Great breakfast selection (self serve) with a small variety of pastries & fruit to take out for snacks. |Thanks, Henri...!!!

The Deluxe double room is amazing, huge and very comfortable (and with very nice views!); we had everything we could need. Shared spaces were also very clean and cosy, with books and games in the living room and a nice breakfast area set up in the kitchen in the morning.|Henrietta and Bob were very friendly and welcoming! We had most of our trip planned as we mainly came for hiking, but Henrietta recommended a nice little hill a few minutes away (walking distance!) where we could enjoy a lovely view of the town and the mountains before heading back to catch the train.|I am going to be back without any doubt.

I didnt book this stay so I didnt know what I was to expect. When we arrived late at night we were absolutely overjoyed to walk through the door to such a homely and relaxed place. It has obviously had an update since a lot of the photos on tripadvisor. We stayed in rooms 5 and 6. Room 6 was on the top floor and was like a self-contained apartment with private bathroom. It had a view of the sea from the roof window and would have been perfect for a family of 4 to rest their head. We all commented that we would return with our children. Room 5 had a shared bathroom with 2 showers and a lockable door so you could use it privately. It was SPOTLESS!! Room 5 was trendy with a brand new super soft carpet and comfortable beds. The whole place felt clean and safe. The downstairs dining room was beautiful! The kitchen had everything that you would need including a washing machine! There were games to play. The living room had plenty of books and magazine. The breakfast was laid out in the evening so that you could help yourself whatever time you woke up and there was fresh fruit on the table and fruit juice in the fridge. We couldnt complain at all and wished we had booked another night after climbing Snowdon!! Thanks for such a wonderful stay! We would highly recommend that you book this place!

My daughter and I shared the room at the top of the property, it’s a lovely self contained space, including a single and double bed, a sofa and TV, en suite shower room with toilet. The cleanliness of the whole property is top notch the owners are friendly and very helpful. The views were amazing out of the windows, the turrets at the top of Caernarfon Castle are visible as well as the views over the Menai straight. We were only here one night as a stop over, but would’ve been comfortable to spend many more days. However this room wouldn’t suit someone with limited mobility because it’s on the loft space and there’s many stairs to climb to get to it!

I had a fantastic experience at Totter's Hostel in North Wales! From the moment I arrived, a warm and welcoming woman greeted me with a brilliant smile and guided me through the hostel. The location is excellent, and it truly provides everything a family needs for a comfortable stay. It felt like a home away from home in a beautiful area right next to the castle. I must apologize if we left the place a bit messy, as we were running late. I can't wait to visit again in the future. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Yelp
I used Caernarfon as my base for my three-night stay in North Wales, and Totters was a wonderful place to stay. The accommodations are tidy, the locale in the old walled city carries the elusive must of history, and the owners are easily approachable and friendly. Oh yeah, 18 pounds a night too, lest I forget. I was in a 6-bed dorm in April, but I only had one roommate for two nights and one night where I ruled the roost. I saw and talked to a few other people who stayed in other rooms at breakfast, held in the attractive cellar. It seems everyone who visits here is in the midst of some wild Welsh adventure, so it was nice to share stories. Linens/blankets are provided, and a variety of shampoos are plentiful for the showers. Just have your towel and you need nothing more. About the surroundings: Caernarfon is a small town and you can get everywhere within a 5-minute walk. Bus connections take you pretty much everywhere in the region (you're 20 minutes from Snowdon) and the celebrated steam train heads south to Porthmadog daily. A fair amount of restaurants, and you're within reach of both the estuary and the castle. I'm not going to lie, though - you'll see a fair amount of boarded-up shops, and when I arrived on an empty grey evening I wasn't sure I picked the best base. But the remaining days were colorful and people were about, which made everything more charming. Through all of it though Totters was brilliant and I'd recommend it without question.

Yelp
Fantastic hostel. You literally stay within the old castle walls, and are a couple minutes walk from the castle itself. Check-in was easy and the rooms were clean. There is no parking associated with the hostel, but they pointed out a number of close free parking areas that worked out well for us. There are pubs and restaurants aplenty within walking distance. Free breakfast, books and games lining the wall.

Yelp
We used this Hostel as a base to walk in Snowden, it was a little bit further away than we had expected, but we liked the hostel so much we would definately visit again just for a weekend break. Caernarfon is quite quiet, but it is a lovely place to spend a few days wandering around. The hostel was warm and welcoming and run by a very nice couple. They also have a whole house across the road which is available to rent as a whole and is much more luxurious, if you are looking for something a bit nicer. Breakfast was included and was a serve yourself; a range of cereal and toast. We were also able to help ourselves to tea and coffee all day.

Yelp
Excellent hostel, easily one of the best I have ever stayed in. Set in a quaint old building just inside the city wall, the hostel retains many old features such as a 600 year old cellar room which is the dining room / kitchen area for guests. A great base for climbing Snowdon provided you have a car or are willing to use public transport. It takes about 20 mins to drive to Pen Y pass car park if you are using the Miners / Pyg route to the summit. There is plenty of communal space for guests including a clean and well-kept living room, a large dining room and a kitchen. Caernarfon itself is well worth a look, the castle is stunning and you need well more than the hour we left ourselves to see everthing and do it justice.

Yelp
Excellent hostel base for all of North Wales and stopping off point if you are on the way to Ireland. Welcoming, clean and reasonably priced.
