Tower Lodge Motel Invercargill

We spent 10 nights in Invercargill and each day with the directions of the management were given great locations to visit . Some that only a local would know and stayed here at The Tower Lodge Motel for the duration of our stay. Very clean rooms. Great amenities. All the cooking utensils,plates etc were in our room. Full size oven and cooktop. Microwave oven. Toaster. Kettle. Fridge was a good size too, we got everything in it. Quiet location. Even though it is on a main road, I could not hear anything from it. Ample parking. There was enough room for my 6 year old to play outside even though Queens Park was close enough to walk to, with 2 playgrounds and a zoo. Walking distance to the CBD. We definitely will come back to The Tower Lodge Motel on our return to Invercargill New Zealand .

We only spent one night here but we were very happy with our accommodation. Spotlessly clean. All modern conveniences. Well equipped kitchenette. Parking in front of your room. Fantastic water pressure! Welcoming hosts. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at a restaurant just around the corner called the Saucy Chef. I heartily recommend this place!

This motel as well as its owners made the trip wonderful. All restaurants and things to do were within walking or taxi distance. Any questions or concerns I had were quickly discussed and I cannot stress how much easier this made travel with such a kind motel owner. If I ever make it back to Invercargill I will be staying here again.

Very tidy units, with all the amenities required. Name makes sense as it is located directly across from the water tower. Very handy to queens park as well. Only issue was 2 broken screws sticking up through the carpet in front of the couch, felt like walking on stones every time we walked past. Very helpful when we left, got some useful information about stops along our next part of the trip.

Friendly, helpful hosts and great accommodation. Clean, excellent location, and well appointed room. The spa bath was a great way to recover from the Hump Ridge! Highly recommend this motel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The units are immaculate and have everything you could possibly need. The location is fabulous, walking distance to the town centre, great cafes and places to dine. The hosts were so welcoming, friendly and informative. We would definitely not hesitate to stay here again.

I stayed here in mid-September 2025. The motel reflects the province of Southland – spacious and hospitable. The management were very accommodating and flexible.|The rates were very reasonable. Included in the rate, free of charge was the location. Very near Queens Park (for those ex-pats visiting home) and very near the CBD, all within easy walking distance. Big rooms, very clean, comfortable, with parking and safe (despite Invercargill being a very safe spot anyway), and in a very quiet area. Easy to find and to drive into/out of.

There was a pleasant surprise at check-in, I was upgraded. I had booked a Standard One Bedroom Unit, but found myself in the One Bedroom Spa Unit. The unit was very clean. Further, I was impressed by the layout of the bathroom. The space was generous and well-appointed. It reminded me of an expensive hotel. I travelled during the winter, and like many NZ accomodations, it's difficult to keep the living areas warm. Thankfully, the motel also provided a space heater. I left that on all night in the bedroom, and it was perfect.
