Townhouse Dresden (Dresden, Saxony) 2 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’d be easy to miss the fact that Townhouse Dresden is a thoroughly modern luxury hotel — Dresden’s central Neumarkt district is a meticulous re-creation of its prewar self, with the result that this hotel, in the shadow of the Frauenkirche, a few blocks from the Zwinger Palace and the Semper Opera House, was compelled to match its predecessor’s facade brick for brick. Inside, however, contemporary design is king — look no further than the exposed glass-walled elevator shaft that rises past a series of oval-shaped interior balconies." - Tablet Hotels

The location and design of the hotel were both excellent — clean, modern, and very pleasant. The room felt stylish and comfortable overall. However, the bedding was quite dusty, and one of the reception staff was rather unkind. I had to repeat myself several times because they didn’t seem to understand what I meant, which made the interaction quite frustrating. For someone working at the front desk and dealing with many guests, empathy and attentiveness felt lacking. The fitness room had good equipment, but the lighting was too dim. If it weren’t for that one unfriendly staff member, I would definitely want to stay here again.

We spent 2 nights at the Townhouse Dresden in late July 2025.||The hotel is hosted in one of the building which were thoroughly rebuilt in the years 2000s just as they were, as part of the amazing reconstruction project which brought to new life the history and palatial city centre. ||The Townhouse is in fact located at the heart of Dresden on the Neumarkt, perfect for sightseeing, dining, etc||||The hotel style is modern eclectic, rooms are airy, modern and super comfy. You will even get the first round of minibar for free but not coffee/tea facilities. If you book directly you though get access to the lounge where you will find coffee, tea and some sweets. This was actually the only disappointment of our stay. The lounge is lovely but the offered items are really sparse and could be really improved. So if you're not getting free access, we wouldn't recommend to pay any extra charge for it!||Ask for a room overlooking the square!||Breakfast is really good in both quality and choices, with a very nice buffet plus a menu for some a la carte options! A great way to start the day!||||Staff are all lovely, welcoming and professional. ||||In all a wonderful choice to explore charming Dresden and be at the centre of the action in comfort!

Excellent location in the middle of old town. The rooms are clean. One suggestion is more vegetation/vegan options for breakfast. Also having a toaster for bread would be good

Tiny room in the middle of the old town. Very convenient location facing the square with plenty of bars and restaurants. Occasionally, you may hear the chattering of late returned visitors in the square. You cannot make a cup of tea in your room. TV won't connect to the internet therefore the Chromecast was useless. Breakfast is decent though. The room was cleaned daily. Won't rate it as 5-star.

Visited this place July 2025 with my son. So, so bad an experience; tried to get in contact with the hotel (to go and park there) by phone, but no one took the phone at the hotel, had to walk to the place to get in contact. When I finally came to the place (after 20 minutes because I had to walk through the hole town) I was given incorrectly information from a completely confused employee about parking possibilities. Worse than that I had booked by booking.com (to whom I had already paid) but the staff tried to (against my protest) to make me pay double. It took me 15 minutes to convince them that I had already paid. BAD! So, so unprofessional...next morning we were being awakened by craftsmen working with their drilling machines a 7-8 o´clock - the "hotel" did not care at all when we asked them to make it halt. Yep, it was such a grotesques experience, like being in a bad movie. We will of course NEVER again visit this overhyped place...:-(

This is a really lovely hotel at the heart of Dresden, next to the Frauenkirche. Absolutely perfect for the Christmas Markets shopping and sightseeing.||The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.||Our room on the 6th floor was very comfortable and clean. Warm powerful shower. The bed was very comfortable. Only slight criticism was lack of sockets/ charging points by the bed.||Breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast that I have ever had. All freshly cooked and homemade. An enormous choice of all breakfast items.||The only reason I feel I cannot give 5 out 5 was the bar service. The hotel has 2 bars, both of which remained closed throughout our 3 night stay. The reason we were given was staff sickness, which seemed a little strange for a good sized, quality, city-centre hotel. We like a drink in the hotel bar before bed when we are on holiday. There were plenty of decent bars close by though.||On our last day, Deutsche Bahn changed our trains, which meant we had to leave the hotel at 0530 instead of 0730. I was disappointed that we missed the beautiful breakfast. The hotel did provide us with a very nice packed meal instead. ||Overall, a beautiful hotel and I would recommend 100% if in Dresden.

This could be a great hotel. Sadly, it is far from it. |In terms of position it has absolutely everything going for it. It is on the Altmark next to the Frauenkirche. It is a short walk from just about everything in historic Dresden. It has parking underground which connects directly to the hotel by lift. And that fast lift is probably the best amenity in the hotel. The modern rooms are reasonably sized.|Downhill after that. The mini bar might be free. Which was a suprise until one realised there was not much in it. More useful would have been a kettle and some tea, ocffee and a biscuit. The management needs to put the staff on a course. The WiFi is pretty lousy. There is no proper heating control for the room so the only option is to leave the window open. Which means that you get woken up by the street and, in our case, the bin men. The bathroom is moderate but the bidet tap was loose and the basin tap rusted under waste pull.|There are no free points by the bed for your devices. |The common parts are decorated in a colour that will make you a manic depressive if you were not one already. |The bar on the 6th floor is quite nice but not very comfortable and the barman adds nothing to the atmospshere with his offhand unwelcoming manner. When I first went up he thought it more important to carry on chatting to his friend. |Avoid the over priced breakfast. The bean counters have been at it. Meat slices transparent thin cut. The ordered eggs were terrible. Find a local cafe instead. You will enjoy it more and be better off.

I spent three nights at this hotel. My room was on the fifth floor with a view of the square. The location of the hotel was absolutely great, right next to the Frauenkirche, just a short walk from the Albertinum, Zwinger, Opera House and other tourist attractions.||I was surprised how small the lobby was. Just a reception desk, a few chairs and a glass elevator. The hotel was very quiet, which I really appreciated. My room was spacious and modernly furnished. The bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom was large, there was both: a bathtub and a shower. The wifi was super fast and worked well. The only thing I missed here was a kettle.||The breakfasts here were absolutely amazing. It was served buffet style and at the same time you could choose from the menu (because breakfast was included in the price of the stay, I didn't have to pay anything extra for ordering from the menu). ||The staff were nice and helpful. Staying at this hotel was a good choice.

Yelp
I LOVE this hotel! Location is central, and there underground parking - very convenient! Front desk lady the nicest. She upgrade boyfriend and I. Suite is modern and nice, but shower is a little crazy! Must be that German design, it like standing in rain storm! Breakfast amazing, so many cool options and vegan friendly!

Yelp
Neat little hotel in the heart of Dresden. Ok sized room with view over the square across the Frauenkirche. Rooms are clean, mattresses are firm and white bed sheets are white with no stains. The breakfast buffet has a decent selection of warm and cold food as well as juice and coffee. All restaurants are in walking distance. So leave your car at the hotel and start the endeavor. Spent two nights an enjoyed it a lot.

Yelp
This hotel was a complete delight. Not too expensive, right in the middle of Aldstadt steps from the Frauenkirche, big comfortable room with separate bath and shower and dressing area. Windows that open, great linens, and a huge breakfast, included. I don't have a single bad thing to say about this lovely modern place, and I'll come here again if I find myself in Dresden. Oh, the wifi: it was six euros for 12 hours, but you can turn it on and off. That's 12 hours of continuous use, which you can use over your whole visit. I use 3 hours a day or so, so it worked out well for me.
