Hill House Home’s Nell Diamond on Where to Brunch, Beach, and Shop in Nantucket

"There's also a store called Townpool that was started by a local, and it's the best place to get Nantucket merch—sweatshirts, hats, all of it."

I needed a t-shirt because I packed terribly and for cold weather, and Townpool was a great spot to grab a cute shirt with Nantucket vibes! The staff was very friendly and answered all my questions, and then showed me the hidden candy room and I bought some of my favorite candy. What a fun novelty! Family owned and a great place to support! Check it out when you're on Nantucket! Clothing, sunglasses, and much more.

One of our kids’ go-to destinations for every Nantucket visit—Town Pool has a secret door that leads to an impressive selection of candy, a free game for kids to find rubber ducks in the store and win a duck buck (that can be exchanged for free candy), and a giant lite brite wall. Plus, cool tees and hats for all ages that are fairly priced and unique to Town Pool. 🐥

Cute store, not my vibe personally but I could see a lot of people liking it

They made it right! I purchased a 'Medium' in store a few weeks ago, but when I got home, it ended up being a large on the tag on the back of the next. I thought the shirt was a medium because it had the 'Medium' sticker down the front of the shirt. When I got home and realized it, I emailed Townpool, and they made it right by sending me TWO shirts and an extra pair of Nantucket socks also! I'm so thankful and blown away of their effort to make it right! You can be sure that when I return to Nantucket, I'll be back by TownPool to purchase some more merch!

I was very disappointed in my visit here. My daughters and I entered and immediately got “told” to put our coffees down which I can understand but the tone and the delivery was quite rude. Then, my daughter, age 14, was looking at a sweatshirt and was told to be careful. Careful? With a sweatshirt?? Meanwhile there were little kids running around with open lollipops and gummy candy. Lastly, upon leaving my daughter went to sign the door-a “thing to do” there and got yelled at for signing in the supposed wrong place. He said she “wasn’t so awesome” and was setting a bad example. I pride myself on being a class act and my kids are too. We were simply trying to enjoy a gift shop and browse at some clothing prior to boarding the ferry. Needless to say, I will NOT be back and I truly hope they are not a successful business on Nantucket. This store gives the wrong impression for tourists of this lovely island.

TownPool in Nantucket proved to be a delightful discovery! When I called to place an order for a surprise engagement gift, their eagerness to assist was remarkable. The attentive team guided me through their selection, ensuring I found the perfect Christmas ornament. Their dedication to customer service was evident, making the experience seamless and memorable. TownPool's welcoming spirit and exemplary service transformed a simple visit into a heartwarming memory, highlighting the essence of Nantucket's hospitality.

This place is honestly the worst shop I went to on Nantucket. Me and my friends went in to buy candy and the man working there was immediately hostile towards us. The customer service was horrible and he made it clear he wanted us to leave many times. He ended up kicking us out when we were going to buy candy he took the candy out of our hands and pushed us out the door. He accused my friend of shoplifting and he emptied his pockets and had nothing. Don’t recommend, if you want candy go to force 5.

Amazing store!!!!! The staff is so nice and there’s great clothing, hats, sunglasses etc. There’s also a scavenger hunt for the kids and they get a free piece of candy if they finish it. There’s also a secret candy room in the back which is GREAT. 10/10 totally recommend
