a wonderful exposition and unforgettable impressions and emotions that bring back the memory of childhood in Basel. You must visit this museum, you will not regret it for a moment. The museum is located right next to Barfüsslerplatz.

A vast array of toys and collectibles awaits you! Allocate at least 2 hours to fully appreciate every item on display. During our visit, we spent 2.5 hours exploring but only had time to skim through the first floor before the museum closed. This place caters to adult toy enthusiasts and history aficionados alike. On Sunday afternoon it was relatively quiet, but it's worth noting that due to the nature of the interactive tablet tour could become noisy if crowded. Having the option to connect headphones would enhance the experience.

A must visit while in Basel. Suitable for all ages. Exciting. Fine art of toys. Shows a history of how toys are made through the years. Me and the kids loved it. It's highly highly recommended

So nice for kiddos, teenagers and even adults! The staff is nice, though you nearly never meet them because the tour is conducted through an iPad. We went an hour before closing, so we had the whole place to ourselves, I recommend you do the same if you hate crowded spaces. I do not know the tickets price, as we entered using the Swiss travel pass, however I image it to not be to expensive.

A nice place to visit for kids and those who used to be kids! They have added some virtual reality options to make it more interesting. You will see many teddy bears there! Those who were kids before 1980s will feel particularly nostalgic.

A toy museum that’s really good for kids, it’s quite big place. P.S. free admission with Swiss travel pass but make sure you need to show them a full receipt of your Pass.

Yelp
If you love old toys, this is the museum for you. This is a privately owned museum with four full floors of toys that can be several hundred years old. The old teddy bears, dolls and doll houses were my favorite. The building is beautifully kept, easy to navigate and has a clean restroom on every floor. The staff was very pleasant and entry was free with Basel travel card given to me at the hotel. My wife and I really enjoyed this tour and it was like stepping back in time.

Yelp
We were in Basel for a day and stopped to check this museum out. So glad we did - it was four floors of awesome old toys. Some reviews have called the displays cluttered - I found them to be wonderfully detailed with everything possible you can imagine in terms of Steiff - miniatures - dollhouse displays - and not just your traditional dollhouses - the mechanical toys - Ferris wheels and roller coasters were fab! There was a special showing focused on Plush - Play and Pioneers Women in Toy Design - which was interesting - I only wish there had been more of that information made available for things we were seeing. Definitely worth an hour or more - it's not necessarily a kids museum.

Yelp
This is a toy museum not to be missed! It's a treasure trove of many genres of toys, stuffed animals (mostly bears), and the most amazing are the miniatures and the functional moving toys, such as a full carnival. It's truly amazing. We started at the top and made our way downwards. The top floor is filled with bears, bears, and more bears. Older bears are almost freaky but very cool. It's followed by several floors of miniatures, including an entire village that wrap around several walls. The functional mechanical toys have a button that you can press to activate. Very, very fun to watch. They also had a special exhibit going on about corsets. Not sure why the subject, but very well displayed nonetheless. They don't allow a standalone camera but mobile phone cameras are ok. My photos are only a tiny portion of their collection. Go check them out! This museum is right in old town, very easy to find.

Yelp
Although everything is pretty much shut down on Sundays in Basel, the museums are still open. Puppenhausmuseum, located at Barfüsserplatz, has the world's largest collection of old teddy bears, dolls, doll houses, and toy shops on four floors. The displays are cluttered and can be a bit overwhelming, but the miniatures are quite impressive. We liked the animated carnival pieces, and there is currently a cool exhibition of eye wear too. Adult admission was CHF 7 and children up 16 are free with a paid adult or otherwise CHF 5. There are two sizes of colorful plastic step stools available for children on each floor also.
