A very decent stay that was consistent with all the Toyoko Inns I’ve stayed across the country but with the added benefit of not needing to step outside while going from Akita Station to the hotel lobby (which worked great as it ended up raining in the evening of our stay!) ||I ended up paying extra for a double room for the sake of having some extra space during my one night here. The complimentary breakfast was great and typical with the brand. ||Aside from the sheltered passageway, the East Exit of Akita Station is quieter compared to the West Exit but at the very least there is FamilyMart and Mame Mame House coffee shop in the first floor of the atrium attached to the hotel.

Connected to the JR Akita station. Easy to reach under the cover. Came in handy visiting in Winter. Room is the same as other Toyoko Inn; clean and adequate.

The location of this hotel is super good right at train station & parking is in the same building w reasonable price of $520 yen. The only thing we are really unhappy is about the front desk the lady there are not helpful & sound a bit rude to us. We requesting 2 extra pillow she insist us to go down drink desk to collect it, we said we are tired can they send up, but she just said NO, w a rude voice. For Japanese famous of good service & polite this is very rare to meet but we are unfortunate.

The best thing is the location. Typical business hotel with small rooms, but that's to be expected. Beds are hard as a rock. Not uncommon in Japan, but they were especially uncomfortable here. Breakfast is ok, but nothing special. However, the breakfast room is way too small, so I had to take the food into my room.

You get what you pay for with this hotel, and I mean that in a good way. Decent room, good shower, not as cramped as some Tokyo hotels, but hardly spacious either. Excellent location practically inside the station, but as Akita is small and many hotels are clustered around the station, you don't miss much by booking somewhere else. Friendly staff, and I appreciated the coin laundry. Breakfast is a bit of a tense affair - not enough tables and it takes place in a lobby area not designed for catering. You will share tables with other guests. Many Japanese are precious about their bags, and hate them touching the floor. So expect some passive-aggressive mind games from guests who will resent you asking them to move their bag so you can sit down and have your breakfast.||||Another benefit is a movie theatre right outside the door, which helped on a slow business trip. Reasonably priced, and quiet - I'd stay here again.

The hotel is connected to the JR Akita station. ||It is less than 5min walk!||||The checkin and checkout is fast and the staffs were fast, friendly and efficient, the usual Toyoko standard. I think the hotel was fully booked during my stay but the staffs ||never fail to put up a great simile while running overdrive.|| ||Its seems a relatively new hotel. Perfect room without a sign of being used.

We stayed here one night for the Kanto festival. The hotel is next to the station inside a building on the 2nd floor. It took us a bit to find the place first, but once we found it it was a very convenient location. ||||The rooms were a good size for a Japanese business hotel: the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was pretty standard. The staff were very nice, and all in all it was a good stay.||||A stay at Toyoko Inn does include free breakfast, however this hotel's set up was terrible with just a few tables in the foyer. There wasn't enough room to seat everyone, and the guests opposite us were clearly unhappy about having to share a table with someone. It made for a really tense and awkward affair.

Yelp
So disappointed in this Japanese Mentality. Toyoko Inn "Japanese Hospitality" is so wrong on this point. I'm a club member here, but since I booked this reservation on Expedia, they are holding me to a regular 4pm check in time, and NOT the 3pm stated on their website for club members. No where does it say that a reservation done with a 3rd party would not allow a club member to check in at 3pm. Stupid Japanese mentality.
