Toyoko Inn Hokkaido Hakodate Ekimae truly embodies exceptional value in every wonderful sense of the word. During our three-night stay in April's cooler climate, we particularly appreciated thoughtful touches like the provided facial wash and cream. Beyond the comfortable rooms, the hotel offers a remarkable array of complimentary amenities: a satisfying free breakfast, readily available green tea, loaner umbrellas for unexpected showers, and a convenient common area with reliable WiFi for any work or connectivity needs. The room itself was well-designed, featuring both effective cooling and heating. Its location is also unbeatable, with the vibrant Morning Market just a short 60-meter stroll away. Furthermore, a pleasant, scenic walk of just over a kilometer along the bay leads to the Hakodate Ropeway, and the charming Brick Warehouses and the delightful, colorful array of churches, homes, and even intriguing abandoned buildings are also within easy walking distance. We even discovered a wonderfully cute Cafe & Deli nearby for relaxing with delicious hot chocolate. Toyoko Inn delivers incredible value and is absolutely worth every yen spent.

Room was decent and comfortable. The space under the bed is great to store luggage. Free breakfast provided was delicious and includes local cuisine as well. Check in and check out procedures were easy and quick. Location is not too bad. Hakodate morning market is just next door while train station is just a lil bit further.

Location was superb, very close to JR station. Within walking distance to many tourists attractions. A Lawson was just next to the hotel. Breakfast was simple yet good enough for a quick breakfast. Staffs were friendly and helpful! It will be better if cotton pads could be provided.

For English overseas visitors it's honestly quite a good deal and location. The staff were extremely polite and tried to help in English which really wasn't necessary with their easy check in machines. The rooms are the right size for a single person with 2 large bags. The breakfast was also surprisingly good (it's free!), however since the morning market is right next door it may be a hard choice. Overall it was clean, great location, and excellent staff.

For the spiritually awake traveler, this hotel is infected with demonic entities. Little black energy things flying around. When I checked out the cleaning staff literally growled at me as I passed by as though she were demonically possessed. You can tell this kind of person because their energy is extremely violent, cleaning people slamming doors and banging into walls where they don't need to, just to cause more chaos. I am a Toyoko member and I'll try other hotels, but this one is pretty bad in terms of the negative energy. They are also very pushy about the 10AM checkout and the Hitachi room-tech does something in terms of bombarding you with high frequencies in the morning, maybe to force people to wake up or just to antagonize their energy field. Toyoko corporate needs to rethink their policies because that's just generally very bad for business. If you're spiritual or sensitive to the energy of where you stay, definitely skip this hotel, it's extremely hostile energy.

This is my 2nd time stayed at toyoko inn after more than 20 years (my first experience was at nagoya), and their service and cleanliness are still one of the best for business hotel. Be careful to check the full name of the hotel since they have 2 hotels and both near hakodate station. Breakfast was ok (sometimes they just serve sausages and egg, moslem can only eat egg and rice then). Unfortunately, they dont have onsen while other hotel nearby have it

Conveniently located 5 min walk from Hakodate JR station. There’s a parking lot next to the hotel at 500 yen per day. Breakfast was provided and was excellent with plenty of choices. Twin bedroom was small but had everything we needed. Laundry is conveniently located on the ground floor.

Very near to JR station and bus stations. The breakfast has a lot of choices and the room is clean.
