Toyoko INN Kyoto Gojo-Karasuma

So far I've stayed at 4 different Toyokos, but this one is by far my favorite! The staff is amazing. Engaged, helpful, and friendly. The breakfast ist really fun. I liked the location, but I can see how some ppl would find 15-20mins walk into the shopping district a bit far. However, every street has eateries, bars, or other fun stuff to come across.

Just stayed here for a week and apart from Kyoto having a massive problem with over tourism this hotel gives you a welcome break from the lunacy outside. Great location,amazing staff and great wifi. Toyoko Inns are pretty much all the same but this one the staff go that little bit extra to make you feel welcome.

It was definitely a good stay in Kyoto. The hotel is walking distance to many places, from the main Kyoto Station, to the nikishi market and other touristy area. There is the FamilyMart next to the hotel which is very convenient for you to get anything. The room size is ok, clean and pretty cozy for a single traveler. I was certainly glad to find the washer and dryer at the lobby, as they are so much needed especially when u are travelling for a few weeks and had dirty stinky clothes. Staffs were friendly and tried they best to communicate in English. Buffet breakfast(consist of rice, vege, curry, mixed vege, miso soup, bread and coffee/green tea) are provided even though i didnt book for breakfast during my booking. Thankful for that :) Certainly a place i will consider coming back for my next trip to Kyoto :)

Every-time I visit Kyoto I usually stay at this Toyoko Inn location. The service is excellent and the complimentary breakfast makes the rate a great value. The breakfast is buffet style and extremely convenient. This location has a good mix of Western and Japanese style breakfast foods. I recommend heading down as soon as the breakfast starts at 7 AM if you want to secure a table (there is only one elevator so it can get crowded closer to checkout at 10 AM).||RATE: Varies depending on the type of room your want. Smoking and non-smoking floor available.||ROOMS: The rooms are all extremely clean, although a little small. Free WiFi. Bidet toilet.||LOCATION/TRANSPORTATION: It is around a 5 minute walk away from the Gojo Subway station and only one stop away from Kyoto Station and Shijo Station in either direction.||NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: Shijo Shopping District, Higashi Honganji (~10 min walk), Kyoto Station and surrounding malls

This is a business hotel chain in Japan. As usual, the hotel room that I was allocated has the same design with the other outlets that I had previously stayed, thus everything is the same in the room. Sizing for the bed for 1 pax is a small double size bed. For ladies, this outlet gives out skincare set when you checked in.||||They provide free breakfast. Variety is not much for this outlet though. The specialty is Tofu. But the breakfast are still very tasty. Wish they had more variety.||||Location of this hotel is in between 2 station. But bus from Kyoto station is more easily accessible than train.||||Staff for this outlet do not speak English for my period of day.

The hotel is quiet centralized where is close to train station and bus stop. There are two coin washers and dryers on site. The staff is helpful but couldn't speak English well when we needed some direction around the town, the room is very clean. We like the varieties of the breakfast. There is only one elevator, so it's a long wait.

There are a few things to like about this place. The location, the staff are really friendly, the rooms are a decent size and its very clean. However the few negatives far outway the positives. It is noisy, you can hear everything that goes on above, beside and below you. There is only one elevator in a 12 floor building which means you can spend a bit of time waiting for the elevator. The rooms are cold, you cant change the heater settings and the temperature of the room is always 17C. And the breaking point for me was the bed was like sleeping on concrete. I woke up so sore in the morning I could not actually finish my stay and had to change hotels.

We stayed at this Toyoko inn in Kyoto. Pretty similar to my experience in Tokyo, it's a no frills hotel. The free breakfast every morning is really nice to have. The location is pretty central, you're just one subway stop from the main terminal. It gets quiet at night which is nice but bustling during the day. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Rooms are typical of toyoko inn which is that it's small but effective. Price is good for what you get.

You can't beat the price and location. It's close to the subway, and close to the train station, so it's easy to get a bus or train to anywhere. I've stayed here twice, and really the only negative is the same negative at all Toyoko Inn's, hard beds. After a few nights, you get used to it though. Most business hotels in this price range have the same issue anyway. I would have stayed at this location more often, but I find that it is one of the more popular Toyoko Inn's in the country and it seems to get booked up really quickly after reservations open even if you are a Club Member. The hotel is clean and the lobby has water and also breakfast in the morning for free. The rooms are small, but I am only in the room to sleep, so that doesn't bother me. They are always happy to keep our bags before and after check-out. The staff is friendly and helpful. I'll probably be staying here again on my next visit to Kyoto.
